Blue Goose Cantina Mexican Restaurant

Everything was absolutely fantastic and delicious! The birria quesa tacos and the slow cooked brisket tacos filling and immaculate. The rice is delicious and tasted amazing. The guacamole was super fresh and very enjoyable. The staff was very helpful, friendly and informative. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. Our waitress, Lauren and the manager, (I didn't get his name, sorry) made it a great experience and we will be back soon. Great place for a date or to enjoy the game and great drink specials.

We went back and the service was still amazing! Mayara was very attentive and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all my questions as I usually have.😁 My food was only ok this time. I think it was what I ordered. I was excited about a tamale that didn't have pork,(the chicken tamale) because of my pork allergy and it did not meet expectations. 🫤 It was ok, but not as good as the food I had experienced here before. Needless to say that's how my whole place was, except for the refried beans and rice. That was better than ok.😅 My husband's food came out steaming, but mine was warm. I tasted his steak, and it was delicious. I'll order different next time.😉 The did was amazingly delicious! Carla was a great server and made sure we were regularly checked on. I got fajitas and my husband got the dirty BOB. The top shelf nachos was the business! The frozen flight oh wee it was strong!🥴 It was good though.😋

Love this place but it DOES get crowded sometimes! Their tamales are some of the best in town and that's saying something. My wife loved her fajitas and my daughter loved her quesadillas. My only problem was getting our server to pay enough attention to us and bringing what we asked for before the meal was over. But that will NOT prevent me from going back for Tex-Mex that shines when the people we love come for a visit! Convenient, easy to get into, and great food!

Great lunch prices and the servicing is plenty. Food was good and service very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere. Took me way to long for come here and will be back.often. On my second visit for lunch I ordered the beef fajita nachos plate and.the serving was way to small. Although it was good the size was a bit disappointing.

I’ve been eating at the Blue Goose restaurants since the 80’s. The food is always good. This is more upscale dining than casual but still makes a good place for that outing with the kids. You really cannot go wrong choosing the Blue Goose for that special evening out or for that casual dining experience. I think you’ll be impressed.

The food was pretty good. We went in for a late lunch and it was delicious. The atmosphere seemed relaxed. They do have a bar and plenty of open seating. The staff is extremely nice, and took a order and brought our food out quickly. I only knock off one star because of the tortilla, which might actually be pressed. Not being up for the task of the taco. Taste wise spot on and again, seemed hand pressed. The other half a star was for the temperature of the plate. Typically in a restaurant. If your plate temperature is excessive, your food sat for some time. While the taste and service was not indicative of this, it still makes you wonder just a tad by the end of it. Overall a solid four almost a five, we would definitely come back.

Blue Goose Cantina is a very nice place with a great patio and good vibe. The food was good, but the service needs improvement. It took a very long time to get our drinks and it wasn't very busy. We were halfway through our chips and salsa before our drinks arrived, beers and a margarita. We had the Goose eggs for an appetizer which is a fried pepper with chicken, they are very good. For my entrée I had the street tacos. You get six tacos three chicken and three steak. They were very good, excellent actually, but I felt they were over powered by the salsa verde that was on them, it really took away from the taco itself. I would ask for the salsa verde on the side so you can add to taste. Overall, not bad, just need to work on a little faster service.

Truly enjoyed their food. It was fresh and didn’t feel like a heavy lunch. The service was fast and my waiter was incredibly nice. It was my first time visiting and our waiter recommended great options. Also gave a dessert on them which tasted just as great as everything else.

YUMMALICIOUS. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were all incredibly friendly!! The outdoor AND indoor seating are super cutie. It definitely didn't feel like it was in the middle of a shopping center next to a big busy road. SURPRISINGLY REASONABLE PRICES?!? At least for how fancy the place is AND how big the portions are.

To preface; I order from Blue Goose all the time. Today in particular, I was feeling exhausted and reeeeally sick from being in the first trimester of my second pregnancy. I called in the order, and sent my dad to pick it up for me. He waited for a time that was way beyond normal, but finally got the food and I was just happy that he was on his way! You could imagine my disappointment when he arrived and there was no salsa in the bag anywhere. This may seem small, but to a pregnant woman feeling extraordinarily sick, it felt like a huge loss. We decided to call the store and just see what could be done, hoping for at the *most* a refund or just an apology-- but you would never believe the incredible customer service we encountered!!! The manager, Carly, had spoken to my dad at the store when the order was taking longer than normal, so she knew our situation from the get-go. She apologized and offered not only a giant order of salsa, guac, and chips, but she gave us a $25 gift card!! Carly turned what was a really crappy day for me, into a really awesome day. Moments like this are really what going above and beyond in customer service are about. I've never written a review before, but I just really needed to share this moment of excellence.

Was in Ft. Worth for work and was looking for good bites around my hotel and this place popped up. Never had heard of blue goose before but apparently there are a few of them around. Why not Mexican it is. I am still not sure if it's a seat yourself or they have a host. Stood awkwardly for a few minutes without anyone talking to me, despite folks walking around me but it is what it is. I was solo so went to the bar. They aren't exactly fast to bus seats there. I wanted to watch the game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals and they only had it on two TVs. So had to sit by the dirty drink station. Was greeted quickly once I sat down. Has chips and salsa quick. And ordered my water with no ice. I wasn't looking for anything fried, but they had a burrito that was deep fried. Asked "hey man, can I just get the burrito without it being fried?" Guess that was a weird question because he had to ask the manager. Seemed simple enough and they accommodated me, but manager approval to not put it in the fryer? Odd. Food was pretty damn good. Almost licked the plate, good. The bartenders were great at checking up on me, so will come back. Paid and headed out

The wife and I were out shopping on University and decided to check this place out today. The staff seemed very nice. We walked to the table and I sat down I noticed the booth wasn't cleaned. The staff immediately apologized profusely and got it cleaned immediately. I mean accidents happen and they were incredibly prompt on fixing it. I can appreciate that. Our waitress was incredibly nice and attentive also. Got the queso and salsa and I loved the flavor and smokey after taste on the salsa. The queso was creamy and had a great flavor to it. We got the shrimp tacos and the tacos Al pastor. I can say the shrimp tacos could use a little more flavor. The tacos Al pastor were really good and had a decent amount of heat. The whole experience was overall a success with a couple of hiccups but decent nonetheless.

Came in for lunch today and ordered the street tacos... steak and chicken. Service was great. Ambiance was nice eating outside

Food & drinks are great and the service is everything. I love this place. I've been five times this month.

Hubby and I went for a late lunch. Wasn't too busy so we were seated and waited on very quickly. Everyone was professional and friendly. The restaurant interior is inviting and quite spacious. They started us with a serving of tasty thin crisp chips and individual bowls of salsa. Hubby won't eat anything with much spicy heat and he loved the salsa. It had good flavor, but I would have preferred something with more of a kick. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and we were amazed when they brought us a heaping bowl sprinkled with cotija cheese. It was good guacamole and there was plenty of it. For entrees we ordered the lunch portions of the combo fajitas and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Fajitas were good and the beef was cooked medium. Hubby really liked it, but I found the meat to be quite bland and in need of seasoning. I am very sensitive to salt and a lot of dishes have too much salt for me. For me, these fajitas needed some salt or other seasonings to give them flavor. The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious. Bacon on outside had a nice crisp sear and the shrimp inside was perfectly cooked. Would definitely order the shrimp again. As far as sides go, beans were bland and needed more seasoning, but the rice was very good. I usually don't eat the rice but it had good flavor and no mixed vegetables, which are a bit of a turn off for me. Definitely worth a try. I'm sure we'll be back if we are in the area.

This what quite literally the worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life while simultaneously being one of the most expensive. You can do better at just about any other Mexican restaurant in town. Close your eyes and point and I promise you it's better

The staff were very kind and professional. The ambiance was acceptable and inviting. I wish that I could leave positive reviews about the two dishes that I tried. I have had better street tacos at a convenient store. Apologies Blue Goose. You can do better.

This is the second time we've tried this restaurant. The first time we sat at the bar and had spotty service. This time I decided to bring my kids and they didn't offer us a booster or a highchair for either of them. One is three and the other is five. We waited at least 10 minutes for chips and salsa and another 2 or 3 for our drinks from the bar. I was so unimpressed by the food. It was a pile of chopped & fried corn tortillas with eggs and avocado on top. I hate driving to Fort Worth just to have crap food. Service can be excused; but now I'm hungry and mad. We won't return to this restaurant.

I recently enjoyed a Saturday brunch on the patio with a friend. Since it was early, free parking in the big lot was available but parking can be a challenge in this area at prime times. We enjoyed queso and a margarita to start. For our meals we enjoyed our breakfast tacos and breakfast quesadillas. The quesadillas were STUFFED FULL. We both had leftovers for another meal. Ken was our server and was very cheerful, attentive, & helpful. I wish him well in his aspirations to move up in the industry through the kitchen.

This was my second time here, and if it was closer to my house, I would have been back sooner. The first time I went to the Grapevine location, this time, I went to the Fort Worth location. We went there just before 3, and we missed the brunch, but next time I'll make it because they have $5 mimosas. I had the ginger fish tacos that are an appetizer but made it my entree and added elote and black beans because the sides are only $2 each. My husband got the chimiganga, and my daughter got the brisket tacos. We all made happy plates because the food was fresh and got it to us very quickly. While we waited for our food, we had our own personal salsas with chips, which were so light and yummy . My only note was that my drink was as much as my food, which was $12. And all though the drink was tasty, I didn't know if it outweighed my food. Don't get me wrong, I will be back, but I will catch a happy hour if I'm going to drink.

Delicious with generous portions, very fair prices and extremely patient friendly staff! I love the decor. The vibe from other patrons was relaxed and fun. Can't wait to visit this delightful well-managed restaurant again AND Thank you for making my day off from work even better.

My go-to spot when craving Mexican food. Great location with plenty of parking. The service is always fast and host/waiters are always super friendly. The restaurant alone is super cute and vibey for any occasion, big or small. 10/10

Tex-Mex. I've been here a few times when looking for some decent Tex-Mex and I'm short on time. They have a large restaurant, so I've never had to wait for a table. The service is friendly and fast. And the food is good overall. You can't go wrong with fajitas, and the elote is take good. I'll probably be back.

Okay experience. Came here on a Monday night for dinner. Just wanted to get some tex-mex food nearby and this place popped up. The menu itself had some good options but I elected for the hatch chile tacos. In my opinion, the tacos were bland. They didn't really have any hatch chiles on them, the spice level wasn't as described, and you had to squeezed a bunch lime so they weren't dry. I also tried to throw a bunch of salsa on them. The chips and salsa for the table were okay. The chips were great and not too salty but the salsa didn't really have flavor. The happy hour menu was kind of confusing in the sense that we didn't know what the discounts were and they were different for each drink but you can't tell from the menu. Although, the margaritas itself were great. Service was decent, but some things did take time. Overall, I've had better experiences, but the atmosphere was inviting enough to make this place a good spot just to grab a drink and probably munch on some chips and dip.

I met my friend here for lunch and to hang out on the patio. This location is in the shopping center behind the Eatzis. It isn't easy to spot while driving down University. The weather and the patio were lovely. Mondays they do happy hour all day. $5 regular margaritas and $1 specialty ones. The chips were thin and perfectly salted and the salsa was a bit smokey. It wasn't bringing any heat but the flavor was good. We both ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp that comes with rice and guacamole salad. The guacamole just tasted like smooshed avocado, but that is fine with me. It was really tasty and overall a very enjoyable lunch.

Blue Goose Cantina! Dining here was a pleasant surprise. I sat at the bar and kicked it off with a Rock Flight. This cocktail consist of Regular, Hibiscus and Mango margaritas in the rocks. The salsa was delicious. It has just enough heat. I ordered a Dirty Bob burritos it came with home guacamole, chicken with beans and rice, topped with a cheese sauce. It was very appetizing. I was pleasantly satisfied with the food and customer service. Blue Goose has gained a new customer.

Back in the day, Blue Goose was the spot for a cheap, low-key marg and not much else, especially at some of their seedier locations across the Metroplex. With their beautiful new Fort Worth location, Blue Goose has completely turned that reputation on its head and has become one of my new favorite spots in town. Taking up prime real estate in UPV, this spot is clean, modern, and spacious and decorated beautifully in classic Texas and Southwestern design, a huge improvement from some of the more basic locations I have visited in the past. We came in on a weeknight for a pre-dinner drink and enjoyed a couple of delicious margs at their roomy wraparound bar, which features incredible daily deals that are almost too good to believe ($2 frozens, anyone?). A perfect spot for a quick drink or a meal, Blue Goose is a new must.

Food is good but waitresses don't seem to all be on the same page with happy hour. I've been three times, same time of day , ordered same things and my bull was ,$42, $56, and $68! If drinks are half price, then ring them up that way. Also appetizers are 3.00 off. Not with every waitress. Buyer beware!!! Be very informed with knowing your order and the price it should be. I get that times are hard, but times are hard for me too. I want to come in for a drink and a bowl of soup and overcharged. It's not, OK ...we won't be back.

I stopped here for lunch 3 days ago. I ordered the lunch beef fajitas and they were a disappointment. Tiniest flour tortillas I've ever seen and beef portion very small. There were 6 strips of beef no larger than 3.5" by 1". Meat so tough that the entire piece came out of fajita when I tried to bite into it. Rice and refried beans as expected. And lunch beef fajitas were $18. Unbelievable. If you go here, I don't recommend the fajitas. I wrote a positive review on the Blue Goose quesadillas in another Yelp post, but it's for the Blue Goose in Grand Prairie.

The GM Joseph is so amazing and attentive! he made sure I was good my entire stay there he even cracked jokes with me. Even the bartenders were amazing! Harley was my personal favorite she made such good conversation and became a good friend of mine :) I highly recommend coming the experience was great!

The food was bad Tex Mex - I ordered the Taco meal and beef was salty and rice looked old. What bothered me most was that there was only 4 tables being occupied in the entire place and my waitress had 3 of them. There were 3 employees standing around talking and this poor girl had to take orders, bring out food PLUS make alcoholic beverages herself even though they had a bartender!! Talk about lack of teamwork. I won't be back because the food was horrible.

This place is an unfortunate mistake that persists on a platform of complacency. It's bad Tex-Mex. It's confusing that it still exists. No, gracias. And the service is slow, disinterested and kinda weird. You'll hate yourself if you spend money here.

Anthony at Blue Goose Cantina was super fast in making things right with this order! He took my concerns for product safety very seriously and made me feel very safe in ordering from them again without further issues. I wish every restaurant was as quick to offer great customer service like this for their DoorDash customers. Very impressive and greatly appreciated!

The atmosphere inside is very cute and spacious you don't feel like you're packed in like sardines. The service is amazing. Our server Jose was very attentive and he made sure that we were enjoying every part of our meal and answered all of our questions. Their brisket tacos are phenomenal and they made the best Paloma I've ever had

Host was very welcoming which set the tone for the whole experience. Our waiter Christian was amazing. He had a great friendly persona and very professional demeanor. 10/10 Service from him. The manager Carly came out to greet us since it was our first time visiting and did a great job making sure we were well taken care of. I have never left a review for any restraunt before but because of how great of an experience it was I just had to let everyone know to go and experience it for yourselves!!! The food didn't disappoint either. I could taste every ingredient in the salsa (so delicious). I recommend the tortilla soup and the tamales!

My boyfriend and I recently went here for brunch the other day as we heard good things about it and it was recommended to us by a friend! For drinks, my boyfriend and I both ordered margaritas, but I asked for the jalapeño margarita. Jalapeño margaritas are my favorite and the ones here were delicious! We also ordered the queso as an appetizer and it was sooo good! I ordered the quesadilla which came with guacamole and sour cream and my boyfriend ordered the fajitas Our server was so nice and super attentive as well. She checked on us regularly and always made sure we were okay on drinks and offered to bring us extra chips! The restaurant was very cute and lively. As I was looking at the menu, it looks like they have a good happy hour, so I'd love to come back in the future during the week!

Ambiance Was Wonderful/Beautiful! Food was OKAY. SERVICE WAS GREAT TOO!! Love the out doors patio! Their alcohol beverages was top 10 please go and enjoy their happy hour!!

Probably the most disorganized and poorly run restaurant I've been to in two decades, including the third world. Hostess, God bless her, was totally overwhelmed with multiple open tables and an hour plus waiting list that perplexed her into total inaction. The bar was backed up to 10-15 minute wait for even simple drinks like draft beer and soda. Staff seemed to be working hard, but were confused and hopelessly disorganized. Chips were stale, but the rest of the food was decent. Very disappointed in the whole experience. Will not return.

I see why people have been mentioning Blue Goose Canina!! So I'm here on a Thursday.. Margaritas $3 as WELL as QUESO which is good AF. Best queso I've had hands down. Here alone at the bar and the girl next to me is celebrating her birthday! Treating her to a birthday drink. I love going out alone and running into new experiences..! First time here and I SHALL be back!! If you're sitting at the bar, make sure Xavier is there!!!!!

Came here for lunch. I got chicken fajitas and there were hot and fresh. Huge portion for lung. Hubby got pick two with chicken enchilada and beef enchilada and loved it. Daughter had pick two with chicken enchilada and a beef taco. Everything was great. Chips and salsa a another great plus. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is a garbage from waiters to managers, Joseph is very rude and doesn't give the good day the waitresses suck I wait 10 min to get my drink order I won't say much but this restaurant is going to close very soon. If I could I would give ZERO STARS, I will make sure family/friends don't come here

We were hungry and undecided so I chose this place cause we were in the area shopping. Our waitress Areli was awesome she was fast attentive knowledgeable about the menu and just all around on point. Such great service from her I'd recommend asking for her by name if you visit. I got the steak fajitas and boy were they good. The steak was perfectly cooked melted in my mouth along with the delicious rice and beans that came with it. I opted for refried because I like refried and I was being a fatty that day. I had so much food left over i ate the rest for dinner later that night and still got full. I really like this place and the margarita I had was pretty good as well.

My wife and I have become regular customers due to an outstanding menu and a great staff eager to make your visit memorable. We've never been disappointed with any of the dishes-everything is fresh and beautifully prepared and tasty! There are no greasy dishes here, just great Mexican food that never fails to impress! One more word about the great staff, our server must certainly be at the top of the list and her name is Diocellina, she is a true treasure!

I get the same thing TOP SHELF QUESO ((((LOVE))))! This place has aswome happy hours. Everyday is different! Marco "A Bartender" our first time with him) made the BEST skinny LIT I have had in FTW. An this company is genius, the promo within. Ms. Sabrina was a excellent bartender and now a manager! An she kills it She takes care of EVERYONE. I LOVE LOVE this place!

My wife noticed this place while shopping in the area yesterday, so I checked them out on Yelp and looked at their menu online. We decided to give them a try. We ordered a couple of Margaritas to go with their free chips and salsa. Margaritas were weak. We liked the thin chips but both wished the chunky salsa had more heat. Entrees were the combos, one with a flauta and cheese enchilada and one with two beef enchiladas and a pork tamale. Both came with rice and charro beans. Everything was good, except the tamale, which had dry meat. Bottom line, we can get better elsewhere and for less money, so we won't be back.

Came here at wife's request. She finds the food great and the margarita also good. I found the steak fajitas flavorless. Chips were very good, thin and crispy and warm when we got them. Biggest problem was service. We waited 10-15 min between table visits and I ended up waiting alone at the table after my wife left the restaurant because it took 20 minutes from the time we finished eating for our waitress to acknowledge that we needed a check. It's not crowded here at 2pm.

The most delicious Tex Mex I have had - loved the queso and chips, Mango Margarita was very good and the fish tacos were amazing- Smokey flavor and great seasonings. Highly recommend this restaurant!
