Blue Heron Cheese Shop

Fantastic artisan cultured vegan foods. My favourites so far are The Crown (sundried tomato, smoky pepper, and oregano) and Drunken Cherry (cherries, cacao, and wine lees). The price is very reasonable for the quality. They are open on weekends and offer delivery through their website. They support other local businesses by featuring them in store and in their package deals. I've loved their collabs with Say Hello Sweets and Flourgirl. Blue Heron is a Vancouver gem that has helped me get through the pandemic by leveling up my meals at home!

Good selection of vegan cheeses, made from cashews, coconut or almonds, and cultured, just like dairy cheese - “microbial fermentation and aging.” Imaginative recipes. They also sell a few other vegan food products here.

This is the absolute best vegan cheese I have ever tasted. Got the Harvest Selection recently and everything was absolutely delicious. Even my non vegan friends enjoyed it too, I didn't tell them until after! Also, I cannot say enough about the helpfulness they extended to me. Due to family illness I was going to cancel my order, when Colin offered to drop it off direct to my front door for me. He certainly went above and beyond and really made a difficult day a lot easier, so thank you so much! You kindness is greatly appreciated!

Love the variety of vegan cheese options and friendly helpful staff/owners. I got the vegan ricotta and made cannelloni - which turned out great. I also tried the lemon pepper which was very flavourful. I think the prices are quite reasonable as many of the cheeses are but based (cashew and almond). I will be returning to try more!

This small vegan cheese shop has an excellent selection of cheese. The shop is very small and probably can accommodate about 3-4 people at a time. They sell vegan croissants but are sold out early because they're so delicious. Only open on weekends, but maybe that will change once they get some more support, so come check this place out!

I have tried many of Blue Heron's cheese options and have yet to be disappointed in my choice! My ride or dies are the Smoke n Spice, Herb and Garlic cummulus, and the Okanagan. Their products are locally hand crafted, vegan, and absolutely delicious. My non-vegan friends and family members rave about the creamy texture, bold tastes, and mention they like it better than other brands they used to love. Highly recommend!!

If you're looking to try more plant-based cheeses in Vancouver, you need to give Blue Heron a try. It's absolutely phenomenal - the type of vegan cheese you could give to someone who isn't vegan and they wouldn't know the difference. While I was there, I picked up the smoked carrot lox, the cormorant, the almond bocconcini and the vegan sour cream. All of them were amazing, but I was particularly blown away by the carrot lox and the cormorant! I highly recommend Blue Heron. While you'll more than likely have to wait in line outside the store for 20 minutes, just know that it's entirely worth the wait.

Highly Recommend the Smoke n Spice Sauce, and the Garlic Scrape Cumulus! Some of the best vegan cheese I've tried. Was even able to feed some to non veggies and have them thoroughly enjoy it Hope to see the business open more in the future, or some sort of service where you could order in advance and pick up.
