Our stay at The Blue Horse Inn was absolutely perfect. The owners, Tony and Jill are very kind and welcoming. The inn is beautiful and clean. The grounds are gorgeous, and overlook the river. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, and relaxing by the river. Jill’s 3-course breakfasts are delicious! They are the best breakfasts we’ve ever eaten! The Blue Horse Inn is right in town, making it easy to walk to all of the shops and restaurants. We would recommend The Blue Horse Inn to anyone who wishes to stay in Woodstock, Vermont!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Horse Inn. The accommodations are five star and our hosts, Tony and Jill were absolutely delightful. The Inn itself was elegant and so cozy and comfortable at the same time. The location was perfect as it allowed us to walk everywhere in and around town. The breakfasts were beautifully presented and very yummy. We completely enjoyed chatting with Tony about the restoration of the Inn as well as what life is like in Woodstock from a locals perspective. Thank you Tony and Jill and hope to see you again in the near future. Good luck in your endeavor and love to Rufus!

Jill and Tony are most gracious hosts and have such a beautiful property. The Blue Horse Inn is quintessential Woodstock and a wonderful place to stay. The breakfasts are delicious, and the grounds immaculate. It’s such a peaceful and relaxing place. The location is great as it’s a short walk into town and on the main road. If I’m visiting Woodstock, I’m only staying at The Blue Horse Inn.

The Blue Horse Inn pretty much has it all! My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend visit, our first to Vermont. It could not have worked out better! The Inn is located perfectly for an easy walk into town, has ample parking, and beautiful views over the river in back. The Inn itself has clearly been painstakingly restored and brought up to date, while still maintaining the historic charm and vibes you want in a B&B. The rave reviews you'll see about breakfast are not lying, as Jill, Tony, and their team have gone above and beyond what you'd expect to eat. Fresh, seasonal food prepared well is a great way to start the day. If you're considering the Blue Horse Inn for your visit to Woodstock, I'd say make your reservation now, before someone else scoops it up!

The Blue Horse Inn is simply incredible. The hosts Jill and Tony are incredibly kind and caring, and go to great lengths to learn the names and preferences of all guests. It felt like staying with family in a warm and familiar home. The amenities are top notch and the food was to die for. Everything was fresh and tasty, locally sourced too! You can’t beat the Blue Horse Inn for its value and the experience. Hands down the best lodging experience we’ve ever had and we can’t wait to return. Thank you!

Google
Simply delightful - this bnb is centrally located in Woodstock and is beautiful inside and out. The grounds in particular are lovely, the pool is nicely landscaped and the Adirondack chairs overlooking the river were our favorite spot to relax and read. Breakfast was delicious and Jill was very accommodating of my dietary needs. Jill and Tony also had great recommendations for dining and sightseeing around town. We were sad to leave and would love to come back!

Google
We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Horse Inn. The room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was amazing! Jill and Tony do such a great job running the Blue Horse Inn and are gracious hosts. The location is pretty ideal, too - not only is the property right on the river, it's also just a short walk from the center of Woodstock.

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Blue Horse Inn for the 2nd time and we swear it gets better and better. Jill and Tony are incredible hosts, especially during this uncertain time of COVID. Not only is the Inn warm and welcoming, it felt extremely clean and well maintained. They really go above and beyond for their guests. We got to enjoy the spacious backyard, which was beautifully kept, the fire pit and we even took a dip in the refreshing pool! The Inn is located in the heart of Woodstock, but still feels like your own little oasis. I highly recommend this incredible Inn to everyone!!!!!!!!!!! You will not be disappointed

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. The inn is at the end of town which allows for more peace and quiet I loved their backyard area and their views. The shower in our room had a view through the window of the mountains. They have several sittings areas (library, living room), my favorite was the back porch area where they serve breakfast. I sat there one evening in total solitude Their breakfast is delicious and changes daily. You have 3 choices, 1 is always oatmeal . I also enjoyed the Mexican brownies offered in the afternoon with coffee/tea.

Yelp
A wonderful stay and visit! Expect to enjoy your time. So much to see in this beautifully restored inn. I usually end a review with a comment about whether I will return....let me start by saying "when can I go back!!! What a wonderful stay. From the moment we walked in, welcoming , personal and engaging. The tour of the building was so helpful, and that included how to turn on the propane gas fireplaces, which we used each evening! The walk about also included the beautiful view of the river, the large lawn and the opportunity to meet their 2 year old golden retriever - who we loved! The rooms were spacious, well appointed, clean and we loved having a mini fridge! Now the food. The breakfast is a multi course meal! Changes daily and with options (you choose the night before!). The yogurt and oat cereal were lavished with blueberries'. The French toast was a sweet, rich cinnamon treat (with local VT syrup of course!). We enjoyed end afternoon coffee/tea and the cookies ! Jill makes them special and we are so appreciative of their awareness of food allergies. Lastly, we enjoyed talking to our hosts Jill and Tony multiple times during our stay. They truly made us feel welcomed. We are booking our return visit once I post the review!

Yelp
What a wonderful stay. Our hosts were very good at communicating the covid protocols, confirming our last minute stay, and what was available at the inn and in the town. This is just a gorgeous inn. We stayed in room 7 with the soaker tub and fireplace. There was a bit of road noise, but nothing that cannot be slept through. The room was lovely, bed and bedding very very comfortable. We ate at the new local tapas place, Sante, which was very good. Breakfast the next morning was prompt, absolutely delicious, and they were both very attentive to our comfort. Would recommend this Inn to everyone. Thank you for the great stay!

Yelp
My stay at The Blue Horse Inn was such a wonderful experience. Tony and Jill are the most attentive and gracious hosts. The entire estate is like being part of a Hallmark movie. Warm and inviting fireplaces in common areas, beautiful and comfortable rooms with plenty of space with grounds that are perfectly manicured. The friendly staff carefully served delicious breakfast that accommodated specific dietary needs making sure there were no mix ups. Easy walks to the town to explore shops and eating establishments added to the pleasurable experience. I highly recommend The Blue Horse Inn - truly the most beautiful place I have ever stayed.

Yelp
Quintessential New England Hospitality We've stayed at lots of B and Bs across the nation and this will go down as one of the best ever. Beautiful inn, lovingly restored, gorgeously appointed rooms, great linens, comfortable beds - what more could you ask for? Oh, how about one of the most welcoming and friendly hosts imaginable? Jill and Tony are amazing - seemingly everywhere at once, giving orientations on the inn, recommendations for dinner and chatting with their guests like old friends. From the moment we arrived, they were calling us by name and could not have been more accommodating. Jill is a wonderful cook and the breakfasts were always creative, delicious and artfully presented. Staying at the Blue Horse will be a cherished memory for us - we had a wonderful time! Highly recommended.

Allison R.

Yelp
My review is based only on driving through this town but I had to comment because it's so beautiful. I saw this Inn and immediately told my friend to look it up! I would absolutely love to stay here and explore this charming town. We have bookmarked this place as a definite we want to do it! The outside of the Inn was perfectly appointed and manicured and looked so inviting and the town around it definitely deserved a walk through to visit some of the shops.

Gian I.

Yelp
Best bnb experience I've ever had. The breakfast is amazing, service is amazing and everything is kept clean and orderly. It's definitely the ONLY place to stay if you are in/near Woodstock. Wonderful experience.

Kristen S.

Yelp
I needed to get away for a long weekend and Woodstock was just the ticket! Jill, the innkeeper, took the time on the phone with me to talk about the COVID restrictions and also give recommendations (which is always appreciated). When we arrived it was clear the innkeepers are immaculate about their business and the current cdc guidelines. I felt extremely comfortable saying here during these weird times. The room was pure perfection... every detail perfectly thought of. The breakfasts were just absolutely to die for! Jill was even kind enough to send along some recipes that I wanted. This is such a Quintessential New England town and it was the perfect way to spend 3 days this fall. Their hospitality can't be beat! I highly recommend. Everything was perfect from start to finish.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Blue Horse Inn for 3 nights in room 1 during February school break. Jill and Tony were lovely hosts-friendly, accommodating and gave us space to enjoy their beautiful inn. During our stay we enjoyed Jill's delicious 3 course breakfasts and afternoon tea as well as a couple of common area spots in the inn with gas fireplaces. Our king bed was very comfortable, the room spotless and quiet. We enjoyed the area attractions as well as a short walk into the charming town of Woodstock. If we return in the cold weather, we would try room 7 with a gas fireplace and in the warmer weather room 2 with a view to the river and pool. We are thankful to have enjoyed the hospitality of such a nice couple.

Jim K.

Yelp
We had a two-night stay in April and couldn't have been happier or any more impressed with the Blue Horse Inn or our hosts, Jill and Tony. We had never been to Woodstock so were initially impressed with the Inn itself and the grounds. We were even more pleased walking in the front door. The common spaces are perfect for relaxing and wonderfully appointed. Our room was so nice we rarely left when we were relaxing. Breakfasts were more than we could ask for and perfectly done. We really can't say enough about how great our stay was. Don't pass up on a visit.

Amanda B.

Yelp
What a remarkable place in the world. I've stayed at many B&B's and this one is at the top of my list, and quite possibly my new favorite spot in New England. The house is gorgeous, the location is breathtaking, and the service couldn't have been better. Breakfast was magic! Thank you! Also... you can walk to to everything, which is just perfect.

Jason C.

Yelp
Fantastic hospitality! The inn is beautiful and comfortable. The location is fantastic - right in the middle of a beautiful village in the heart of Vermont. The owners are kind and gracious. The food is excellent! We had planned to stay only a couple of days, and ended up staying twice as long. Make sure to plan for time to enjoy the backyard; the pool; and the river are worth your time.

Glenn M.

Yelp
We had a great experience staying here. The innkeepers were friendly while being respectful of our privacy. The room was stunning. We felt at home right away. Breakfast was elegent without being over-wrought. Very clean and well appointed Inn.

christian C.

Yelp
Even though recently refurbished, this old house's floors didn't creek. The room was large, and the windows opened. There were no neighbors during our stay so it was quiet. Our room had a refrigerator and couch. For us, the mattress was too soft. The hosts were very gracious. The breakfast was great. The GF cookies were outstanding - would have bought a dozen of those. Woodstock is so quintessential "Vermont" that it almost seems fake, and this place only adds to that aura. A Monday night at $250 in off season , though, was a bit steep.

Can I.

Yelp
This was one of the most pleasant experiences as a frequent international traveler. The owner were very nice and attentive. The place was elegantly decorated, attention to detail was amazing. Breakfast was included and it was unbelievably delicious both days. This is the place to stay in Woodstock, VT. Highly recommended!!!

Helen H.

Yelp
We had such a fantastic stay at the Blue Horse Inn! Jill was an amazing host and paid attention to all the details to make sure we had a worry-free stay. The building is beautifully renovated and in a perfect location. The food is also fantastic, rooms are gorgeous. We look forward to our next stay!

Whitney S.

Yelp
I made a reservation to stay at the Blue Horse Inn w/no mention of a vaccine passport requirement. Later on in the day, I received an email from the inn informing me of this policy. I then proceeded to cancel my reservation and they kept my $273 deposit. When I called them directly, they referred me back to Expedia for a refund which I didn't receive. Now I have to take up the matter with Visa. If you're not a fan of COVID tyrants, medical apartheid or getting stiffed out of your deposit, steer clear of the Blue Horse Inn!!!...

Janelle D.

Yelp
Incredible place! We have stayed in a room upstairs overlooking the river and grounds and in a suite downstairs with its own private entrance and views towards the river. We only meant to stay one night, but ended up changing our plans so we could finish out the week here. Jill and Tony are gracious hosts and so personable. They have meticulously selected, checked and double checked every last detail. The Inn is spotless. We spoke with them at length about the history of the home and it's impressive! I've stayed in so many hotels and B&Bs and this one is tops. Breakfast is gourmet, 3-course and delicious. You can choose your main course and meats (they have vegan sausage!) and the time you wish to eat. Other sweet details: Coffee and tea available nearly around the clock, baked goods offered in the afternoon, porch off the back for relaxing and chairs by the river with view of the covered bridge. Plenty of wine glasses, bottle opener, books galore, and board games. In-room fireplaces in select spaces. Soaps in the bathrooms that are made in the USA! Private parking lot. Easy walking distance to all that beautiful downtown Woodstock has to offer. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
This is a beautiful building on a gorgeous property. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The building is clean, well appointed and I think they thought of every conceivable detail. It looks like it's ready for a photoshoot. The room we were in was nice and comfortable. The breakfast was good. Better get in there now, in another year more people will discover this inn and the room prices will go up!

Samantha S.

Yelp
We had the most amazing stay at the Blue Horse Inn. Jill and Tony were great hosts and made us feel right at home. The inn exceeded all our expectations. The food was delicious, rooms were pristine and atmosphere was charming. Jill and Tony were kind enough to give recommendations for things to do in the area. They also were very on top of all the CDC guidelines and talked us through the Covid restrictions before and during our stay. Traveling during Covid can be stressful and their attention to guidelines and cleanliness of the space made our stay so relaxing. The Inn is walking distance to town and has views of the beautiful river, what more can you ask for! If you're looking for a beautiful getaway to Woodstock VT, The Blue Horse Inn is the perfect place to stay :). Can't wait to come back soon!

Mike D.

Yelp
Unfortunately we had to cancel last minute due to a scheduling error on my side. I had stopped by previously though and was able to see how excellent both the building rooms and service are. I hope to be able to return someday soon.

Lily D.

Yelp
Jill & Tony are the greatest! So sweet and easy to talk to. They have the best recommendations and their breakfasts are amazing! Would not stay anywhere else in Woodstock. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Lynn M.

Yelp
The innkeepers are extremely accommodating! From the moment you walk in the door at the Blue Horse Inn, you feel welcomed and comfortable, almost like you've known Jill and Tony for a long time! The attention to detail along with their true dedication to hospitality really makes this a special place. The inn is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated with a blend of both traditional and modern furnishings and art. The music room was our favorite hangout and the multiple fireplaces throughout the Inn add a warm and cozy touch. We will return!

Nimisha B.

Yelp
If you're looking for a perfectly charming B&B in an idyllic New England town, look no further than the Blue Horse Inn in Woodstock! We were supposed to get married in August but postponed due to COVID, so we decided to have a local legal ceremony and spend a mini-moon in Vermont to mark the occasion. The owners Jill & Tony are the sweetest and most accommodating, making sure COVID safety procedures are in place, that everything is spotless, and that their guests are comfortable. The rooms are so cozy, and the breakfast provided is always delicious. While they don't have a liquor license, you can BYOB which was great. The Blue Horse is situated in a great central spot and it was easy to get anywhere we wanted. Tony made sure to introduce us to their sweet pup Rufus when he discovered we were dog lovers and set us up one night with the fire pit in the backyard. When we mentioned to Jill that we loved the pepper jam they served at breakfast, she gave us a little jar to take home with us. So many little moments of kindness. I could wax poetic about this place forever so I'll just say that this was such a lovely spot to stay, and we'll always remember it fondly.

Danica B.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Blue Horse Inn for our wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Lovely B&B, well kept, and an excellent breakfast. Thank you Jill and Tony.

Bassel A.

Yelp
I can't say enough nice things about this place. 1) Very dog friendly. Our dog was loving life here. The staff loved him and were so kind to him. 2) The breakfast was amazing. Garlic eggs and sausage with an apple scone. 3) The service!! Checked in with Judy and she was one of the nicest ladies. So accommodating, baked fresh pecan cookies, and just all around pleasant. We met Jennifer in the morning for breakfast and she was equally fantastic. 4) The heated pool and cedar tub!! Open in October while it was cold. Pool heated to 85 or so and the hot tub was just right. 5) The rooms are super clean and spacious. 6) Location could not be beat. Right in the heart of Woodstock with a lot to do with in walking distance. Like I said, I can go on for a while describing how amazing this place really is. If you are going to Vermont for a weekend and looking for a B&B, you really need to experience the Blue Horse Inn. We can't wait to go back

Arielle Z.

Yelp
The Blue Horse is a treasure--all of the beauty, charm, and stateliness you expect from a high-end Vermont B&B without any of the stuffiness. Keri and Anna (the innkeepers) are gracious and fun to hang out with. The breakfasts are delicious and the well-manicured grounds even have a pool and a tennis court (you can ask for lessons from a local pro). In the winter, it's close to great skiing at Killington and Suicide Six. If you're thinking of taking a few days off this is where to go.

Julie M.

Yelp
Thank you Tony and Jill for making our stay so lovely. We hope to make this an annual get away, as it is a magical and special place. If you are visiting Woodstock, Vermont and are looking for an outstanding bed and breakfast, The Blue Horse Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The charm, warmth and location are beyond description. The Inn is located right in the middle of downtown, where there are small shops and restaurants. The owners, Tony and Jill, go out of their way to make everything absolutely perfect. They renovated the entire place, providing an updated feel, while capturing the history of quintesenntial Vermont. The rooms are meticulously clean and extremely cozy. They range in size and are all impeccably decorated and maintained. All of them have Samsung TV's and Amazon Firesticks. The Blue Horse Inn has a small staff that is very accommodating and you only see them if you want or need something - otherwise you are left to enjoy the property. The breakfast is warm and delicious, and made from scratch with fresh ingredients. If you are looking for a great B&B, the Blue Horse won't disappoint. We highly recommend this property! Thanks again, Julie and Kevin

Yelp
Been to many inns and B&B's in VT over the years. First stay here. Tony and Jill make a stay at their inn relaxing and comfortable. Beautiful inn. Delicious breakfast and walkable to all that Woodstock has to offer. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Michael G.

Yelp
The Inn was truly an amazing find for us. Wonderful atmosphere and grounds. Room 2 has a great view of the river and beautifully landscaped back yard. Innkeepers Jill & Tony make the experience complete with their gracious hospitality. Top of our list for future visits!

Robert P.

Yelp
A real quaint and comfortable stay. The inn keepers are warm and welcoming. The certainly go out of their way to make you feel right at home. The room was enormous and with a wood burning fire place, we got the fall fix we were looking for. A wine and cheese appetizer was a surprise and much needed. It allowed us to get to know the other guests well. Breakfast was great. Being a coffee snob I was very impressed by the French press they served. A word of caution; we stayed in room 7 which had a lot of road noise. It faces the front and even though Woodstock is a small town the street out front is a major thoroughfare. I would be careful of this and request a room off the front.

Jeff P.

Yelp
Gorgeous place. Well kept. Right I'm the downtown area. Heated pool is amazing and right next to the river. Amazing place to keep the whole family and plenty of room to relax. State of the art tech too!

J N.

Yelp
I stayed here with my husband-to-be and several members of our wedding party in September when our original hotel was flooded out. I had been disappointed at having to change, but after staying at the Blue Horse Inn, I could not have been more thrilled with our stay. They were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to take pictures and add non-hotel guests to have breakfast. Breakfast, by the way, was sooo good. The place isn't too big so you can smell everything wafting up the stairs in the morning. We asked for some cooking tips which were gladly shared - mascarpone cheese in scrambled eggs, the proper size for butter pieces in the scones. The innkeepers are very friendly and communicated a sense of coming home - nothing stuffy even though there are a lot of elegant touches. The backyard had been affected by the flooding so it was out of commission, but the building was beautiful, the rooms so cozy, and the inn was very well located for exploring Woodstock. We walked a few steps next door to apply for our marriage license then walked back for breakfast. We are hoping to come back for our anniversary.

Susan A.

Yelp
If Woodstock, Vermont is on your itinerary I have the B&B for you. Tony and Jill Amato's Blue Horse Inn, lavishly renovated in 2018, offers the perfect marriage of nineteenth century charm and twenty-first century creature comforts. No more dark, drafty, skimpy rooms with bathrooms that owners dare not feature on their webpages. While on the BHI website check out the pristine bathrooms with oversized mirror, sink and floor space. Plus an étagère for your toiletries and make-up, generous towels, shower and lighting. Flat screens in each room with up to the minute features that would put a smile on the youngest (fourteen years and older) guest. And breakfasts? Suffice to say you will be asking Jill for her recipes. A five-minute tree-lined walk to town features a charming covered bridge, the famous Woodstock Inn (a must for dinner) and the beginning of your day of endless boutiques, galleries and eateries. Mine is only one of many excellent reviews for this property. The Amatos' Inn has earned its place in the winners' circle.

Yelp
Dear Yelp- Please offer more than 5 stars! We purchased a Groupon to stay at Blue Horse Inn and expected it to be a quaint, comfortable place to sleep in between days of skiing. Oh how we underestimated! This Inn was fantastic! Cocktail hour, beautiful room, kind hosts, great company and fabulous gourmet breakfast. Oh and great location- within walking distance of downtown for restaurants. I don't want to provide too many details because I would love for other guests to be as surprised as we were! It was truly relaxing and wonderful. Stay at this Inn. It was perfect and I can't wait to go back :)

Adam M.

Yelp
Truly an amazing New England experience. Every member of the staff is warm and welcoming and the breakfast is as good as you will find anywhere! Plus, the rooms are as nice as something you would find in a luxury hotel. If you are looking for the best B&B in New England, look no further than The Blue Horse Inn!

Niall F.

Yelp
My wife's sister was so sweet to give us a gift of a nights stay at the Blue Horse Inn. I had no knowledge of the place beforehand but Woodstock, Vermont is a fun escape, that I'd only ever past through prior to go snowboarding. When We got here we were blown away by just how wonderful the Blue Horse Inn is. This is easily one of the best b&bs we've stayed in. The owners are really friendly and engaging; the cocktail hour with gratis wine and chocolate really classy; and the building itself is beautiful and elegant. Such a nice break from city life. Top it all off with the breakfast of the year. They serve an incredible breakfast of local delights including eggs, biscuit to die for, French toast, local jams, butter and of course maple syrup. Totally stuffed my savory senses (and belly). Thank you BHI - and my wonderful sister in law - for a wonderful weekend. We will be back again!

Geri C.

Yelp
Keri and Ben (owners) are two of the nicest hosts I've ever met. They were extremely accommodating and even let my family and I check in a few hours early when we had a last minute change in plans. Our rooms were even upgraded to deluxe rooms at no additional charge! The inn itself is charming and elegant, with an eclectic mix of victorian and contemporary stylings. Every room is unique but all are beautifully buttoned up and impeccably clean. My bed was huge and so comfortable. It happened to be very hot that weekend, and Ben was kind enough to put in an AC unit while I was out. You also get a complimentary glass of wine at their cocktail hour, and a stellar breakfast that impressed my whole family. The back porch is peaceful and overlooks the heated pool and large outdoor area. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Woodstock.

Niki V.

Yelp
The Blue Horse Inn is so great, I'm almost hesitant to write about it - it's the kind of place you want to keep to yourself, and maybe a few of your closest friends! It's THE perfect place to stay in Vermont, for these reasons: (1) It's in the heart of Woodstock, a beautiful VT village (2) the rooms are a delight - wonderfully appointed, comfy, great beds; (3) the Innkeepers are terrific - smart and caring; Keri is a Sanskrit major, warm and funny; we didn't get a chance to meet Anna, but she's into horses, so of course she's terrific! And Keri's husband Ben is a real mensch! (4) the breakfasts are amazing; (5) the pool looks like a natural swimming hole and is delightful (6) you can walk to anything you want in the village and beyond, including hiking Mt. Tom on the road behind the Inn (7) their library of books is the BEST - so you don't have to worry if it's raining - you'll want to curl up in any corner of your room or the Inn, and grab something from the shelves; (8) the rates are just right! ; (9) the wine cocktail hour is perfect - these folks know their wines; (10) they have this amazing, mesmerizing contraption that cleans the pool; (11) there's a espresso machine that's on all day long (12) you will feel well-cared-for by everyone there (Daena has got it all together!). Now, please, don't tell too many more people about this fabulous place, but YOU should make plans to go there as soon as you can!!

Deb P.

Yelp
Highly recommend this wonderfully warm Vermont experience! So spacious and welcoming. FIVE STARS for Blue Horse Inn. We will definitely be returning here.

Mark W.

Yelp
I stayed here for one night for easy access to VT skiing and was very impressed. The room was large, well decorated and very comfortable with good quality bed linens and a great mattress. On arrival, I had a great conversation with one of the really friendly owners and a good glass of wine. Breakfast was incredible, and a good start to a day on the slopes. I would definitely come here again and again.
