A Truly Community-Focused Business!
There’s no better business to support than one that genuinely supports its own community—and Blue House Books is exactly that.
A huge thank you to them for donating gift certificates to the teachers at Curtis Strange Elementary for Teacher Appreciation Week. Your generosity did not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for your support of our educators.
It’s always inspiring to see small businesses that not only thrive but also give back. Thank you, Blue House Books, for all that you do. Kenosha is lucky to have you! Thank you!!

My daughter loves this store, we visited just after her 11th birthday so she could pick up Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. We will definitely be back.

Blue House Books is a jewel in the crown of downtown Kenosha! The personal experience of shopping in person is unmatched. Their online store is also very easy to navigate. I love their events, their staff, their merchandise!

Literally the cutest most fun bookstore! They don't have the space like a Barnes and Noble but they will order any book you want. The owner does the cutest events for kids and even adults. This is spot not to be missed if you're a book lover! When I go to pick up a bok I've ordered I try not to take my wallet or buy all the books. Pictured is my recent book haul

I came here to get copies of Fourth Wing and Iron Flame after all the major retailers sold out. The books were in great condition and were plentiful. I'm happy I stopped by, what a cute little hidden gem in Kenosha!

Yelp
Great bookstore and got all the help I needed! It looks small on the outside but when you walk in, you're in book heaven! Quite the selection for kids and adults! I got to talk with Sam on what genres I want to explore and she recommended some great books! It's a wonderful place and look forward to going back!

Yelp
What an adorable little bookstore! I love that they have made a home in Kenosha. You can tell that they take pride in their store. It is clean, well organized, and effort has been put in to make it a welcome haven for book readers. Every single person there treated everyone with respect and kindness. I got the feel that their customers are more like family.
My only regret is not making it a point to visit sooner.
(P.S. They even have a monthly bookclub! )

Yelp
If you're shopping for books in South East Wisconsin this is the only stop you need. Sam has created one of the most unique and welcoming book shopping experiences you can have. She's passionate about her books and is so active in the community around and empowering their love for reading. They've got banned book clubs, book trades and a ton more. If Sam doesn't have it on the shelf she can get it within a week. Keep your money local and stay away from buying books on Amazon or from big box

Yelp
This bookstore is one of my happy places. The owner is welcoming and always helpful in picking out your next read or helping you select the right book or gift for friends or family. Kenosha's only bookstore! Support local.

Yelp
Stating that they celebrate and promote local authors is somewhat of a lie. If they were more transparent about the genres they promote and the people they prefer to promote I would have a lot more respect for them. At first glance they make their business sound like it is a positive place for members of the community to come meet and work with authors. But what they fail to consider is the many hard working women in Kenosha that go out of their way to promote one another and lift up each other. That is my struggle with BHB. They pick and chose who they want to work with. Which is their right. But then be transparent and promote your business as such. "A book store that promotes only authors that they like or want to work with." I am not sure why that is but if I was a small locally owned business I would do everything I could to lift up the women in my community. Not ignore them and lie to my customers.
