The right price point/service between Ojai Valley Inn and an airbnb or something. Also you already have a car you don't need to be fully walking distance from downtown and you're in Ojai for this viiiibe.

Google
Blue Iguana A must visit destination ever since it came on my radar ages ago. The whimsical titular sculpture caught my heart and finally made it out there. It's just two miles south of Ojai and across the street from the Ojai Valley Trail. Arrived on a Thursday afternoon after 4 pm so able to check in immediately. It's just two miles south of Ojai and across the street from the Ojai Valley Trail . Cute front desk lobby had it all. We reserved a deluxe king room that had a small semi-secluded patio set for our use but time got away from us and it was too chilly to use til check out day. The room was so cute with rustic whimsical touches throughout. A DVD player(DVDs available at front office). Very clean and well-appointed with a fridge, microwave, kitchenette setup to prep coffee(Gaviña-for the snobs), hot tea and cocoa. Additional sweet treats and drinks are available to enjoy for a fee. If you want housekeeping, it's available if you inform front desk by 11 am. Two robes were available to use which we did to make use of the jacuzzi (tile work surrounding it is beautiful). We could hear kids on the property but the environment was tranquil for all to enjoy(the sister property, Emerald Iguana, is 14+ I believe). The property is beautiful, serene, lush... everything I could ask for.

I stayed at the Blue Iguana Hill In Ojai, CA in April 2025. The grounds of the inn were lovely. The room we booked was a deluxe king room and it was perfect; it was comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I wished I could have stayed longer than one night!

Ten of us stayed here for a girls trip, and we couldn't have had a better experience. Two of us rented the two-bedroom bungalow as a hangout, and the others took individual rooms. The Blue Iguana oozes charm; everything is clean, private, and delightfully decorated. Lots of shady lawns with tables and chairs, and the pool/spa area is extremely inviting. We're already planning our return trip!

We (my wife &I ) went up to Monterey. The 1st day we went to the aquarium. The place was packed as usual. LOTS of school kids on field trips. The aquarium is on the pricey side,$65 for each of us.Its been a few years since our last visit. Not much has changed. We booked 2 nights at the Sunset Inn in Pacific Grove. We stayed in the suite over the office, large room, king bed, fireplace. It was one of the cleanest places ever.We will stay there again. We had 2 very good dinners, one at the Red House on Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, very good but small and $$.Our favorite place to eat is Peppers Mexacali on Forest.A full bar, tequila flights great service and amazing food!! I usually get the paella but tried the jambalaya for the first time and it might be my new go to.It was served almost to hot to eat (fromthe oven), but I fought thru it.The house guacamole is pretty good too. A better bang for your buck here! Reservations are recommended but if you can find a seat in the bar it's a great place to wait.

Google
Great place , pretty and well maintained inside and out , relaxed atmosphere and everything available to you without effort . Loved the wine and breakfast options ! Nice pool and hot tub area perfect place to rest after a nice walk on the trail . You can go to a more remote beach as Refugio or do city visiting in downtown Ojai . And the name can make you think of the old film The night of the Iguana ! Enjoy

The Blue Iguana was exquisite in every way! The Arch./lay-out/colors/etc. all perfect, and everything in my room required a second-look . . .somebody has good taste!||PS The picture you see here was the view from my room = :)||FYI The Staff was informed and personable!

Worth it! I was worried about the location being right off the main road into Ojai, but it is not bothersome at all. It’s a 2.5 miles walk into the main part of town, or a 5 minute drive. The quaint little hotel is set back from the road with lush greenery and retaining wall creating a good atmosphere and sense of privacy. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished with traditional wood furniture, but very high quality and comfortable. Our king patio room had a sitting room with an adorable fireplace which came in great handy during the chilly fall evening. Everything is very clean, the kitchen is surprisingly large and well stocked. The pool and jacuzzi are well maintained, in general the whole grounds are very nicely manicured and they decorated for Xmas in late November which was very nice! I am truly impressed with the thoughtfulness of the owners in the way they run and maintain the whole property, such a gem of a place that you don’t see often anymore. As someone who does a lot of business travel and goes to corporate chains, this is a very refreshing change. Additional update: unfortunately our DVD player wasn’t working with our TV. The kind woman at the front desk came to our room to help, yet she wasn’t able to make it work. Nonetheless, the responsiveness and effort was there. In the future I’d recommend double checking that these things work and perhaps writing a set of simple instructions for guests to follow should they want to use the DVD option.

Google
It's truly a shame that this is not a better experience! The compound and grounds are very pretty and the buildings have a lot of potential, but need some major upgrades! Most notably, some double pane windows to help with the constant road noise and the HORRIBLE rooster that starts at 5am, non stop until at least NOW, which is 7am! Upgrading the TVs to smart TVs would be a great option too as the current cable set up gives you 3 channels, no kidding. The wifi is weak, so that streaming anything on your phone or computer makes for a lot of buffering. The sofa is a glorified futon, not cozy at all. The whole place is just tired :( We are in Room 2, which is closer to the road, maybe something in the back of the complex would be better, but I would absolutely not take the chance to waste your money!

Yelp
I loved this Inn! Delightful grounds, clean yet quaint old-timey cottages, beautiful Spanish color tones, community courtyards with tables and fire-pits, and a warm and helpful staff! From the initial call to book, to the welcoming, through our stay and check out, the staff was excellent and the accommodations were super comfy. There was a crystal clear pool surrounded by trees to provide shade from the sun. The pool area was clean and well-stocked with towels. The jacuzzi was powerful and the chairs and lounges were comfortable. Old Spanish charm, lush gardens, plenty of different suites to choose from, quiet, and only a short car ride to the main street area of Ojai (or bike ride as there are bikes to rent and the bike path into town right out front!). I loved the patios our suite had on both the front and back sides. We used them both during our stay. I purchased the Breakfast Basket, which we enjoyed having in the morning with the coffee and tea that is provided for free in the rooms. The bagels and assorted items in the basket were fresh and convenient. There are also snacks in the room for purchase, if you get the late night munchies. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils for meal prep. The only thing I'd change is to have no pets allowed (or to have one specific pet-friendly unit), but I'm sure many others disagree. That being said, the Inn appeared very clean. I will definitely look forward to visiting again!

Yelp
We had such a wonderful stay at their sister hotel, the Emerald Iguana and we were really looking forward to staying at the Blue Iguana a few weeks ago with our 9 month old to get away. Sadly, my wife got the flu and we had the cancel last minute. I was really hoping to reschedule our trip and use our deposit to book another night and they didn't allow us to do this. I offered a doctor's note to prove that we weren't just blowing them off but they weren't able to reschedule us. Really bummed about their inflexibility since we had such a lovely stay previously.

Yelp
He came up to Ohio last minute and found a wonderful place that is pet friendly and would highly recommend this location and if you have a pet, I would suggest getting a larger place with a patio and yard such as the Casita del Sol room. The pool is a bit small and can get crowded if you go at the wrong time, but it is a charming place and the staff is very friendly at night. The place takes on a magic of its own. It's enchanting and quiet and romantic keep in mind that this is not near, the downtown Ojai area so you will need to drive a few minutes to frequent the restaurants and shops.

Yelp
O quintessential Ojai California! Offered everything great service, location, price, and really beautiful accommodations. Want to come back sooner than later and don't forget to locate the upper deck area which has an entire.

Yelp
We love this place, the staff is always amazing and on point. The WiFi is good and the greenery is nice , my wife and I have stayed here twice and are planning on returning on Thanksgiving .. the beds are pretty comfortable also... Thank you Staff

Yelp
Great rooms and a perfect location. Check in was great. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Yelp
Hacienda House was full of spiders, fleas and bird droppings all over the patio the worst part was the watery diarrhea and feces on the grass (my 6 month old puppy now has Giardia) I've stayed here for several months in the past and this place has definitely gone downhill. We immediately left and went to the Ojai Valley and Spa. I will never go back to the blue iguana. It's such a shame.

Yelp
Really unique and beautiful hotel and property, with variety of rooms and cottages available. We were just in town for a quick 1-night stay, so just opted for one of the simpler, 2-Queen rooms (#9), but was still very nice with pretty tiled floors and bathroom, original artwork, comfy beds, and good air conditioning. The property is beautifully landscaped with mature trees and lots of flowers and decorative tile sculptures. The pool and jacuzzi area is very inviting, with comfy lounge chairs, little tile side tables, and grass and flowers. It does have a bit of traffic noise, since the main road runs right behind it, but did t notice the traffic noise from our room. Lovely stay. Might try their sister property, the Emerald Iguana, next time.

Yelp
Stayed here a couple of years ago and had such a nice experience, just spent a few nights here and was surprised at the service we received. The girl in the office was lovely however there is absolutely no housekeeping at all. Not once was our beds made or the trash removed from the room. We had to wash our own coffee mugs, coffee maker and look at trash for days. They never brought clean towels or made the beds, it was disappointing. We did go to the office to ask what the deal was or for clean towels and the trash removed and there was nobody at the front desk. It's too bad because this is a cute place the service just isn't there.

Yelp
This hotel ROCKED!! We absolutely loved it and will be back without a doubt! We were in total heaven from the moment we pulled in to the moment we very reluctantly left! Could've happily stayed a week lol! We took a little impromptu overnight hiking trip up to Ojai last week and scored a great deal for our night here! We got the two bedroom bungalow- it was fantastic!! It's MASSIVE!! It has a large living room with a gas fireplace and a gorgeous, cozy, fenced in, private patio right off it - it was perfect!! It had a huge kitchen with everything you need to cook anything pretty much and even had a dining table seating area!! So huge! The two bedrooms are found right off the living room. They both join onto the full bathroom and one of them has its own half bath (it only has a sink and toilet - so you'll be sharing the tub/shower - not at all an issue for us). The bedrooms both have their own doors closing off the bathroom for privacy. The sides of the bathtub were quite high - so be aware if you have any issues getting in and out - felt like I was climbing a mountain haha! But it was absolutely spotless and had great water pressure - and excellent quality toiletries! One bedroom had a king bed and one a queen. I believe the couch folds out to a bed as well if you should need it. We got a great last minute deal with a discount code on CheapTickets - literally booked it around 12-1230pm and were settled in by dinner time!! Staff were super nice! Check in was a smooth process - no issues at all - even though I realized I had left my purse at home!! So I had no ID or anything lol! But they accepted my confirmation email and I had already prepaid. Parking is gravel lots all around the grounds with plenty of spaces. And the grounds - wow!! Gorgeous huge grassy park-like areas with fire pits, strings of soft lights, and cozy seating. They even rent bikes!! Which is awesome Bc it's located right next to the Ojai to Ventura bike trail! Not to mention all the amazing hiking in the area! And their pool - WOOOOWWWW!! I can't wait to come back and hang out there - it's a sublime area! Huge hot tub up on its own little platform overlooking the well kept pool and grounds - and full of fun art pieces! Incredible ambiance! Total relaxation and joy! It's currently by reservation due to Covid so be aware and plan ahead. They also have DVDs to check out if you want to have a movie night!! The location is perfect too - within short/easy driving distance to Ojai shops and attractions and all the hiking trails - but far enough away to be quiet and calming. Be sure to pay attention though Bc the entrance is sooo unassuming that it will sneak up on you!

Yelp
Not sure any of the pictures taken of this place do it justice. I was expecting a true motel, but this place is GORGEOUS. The beds are deliciously comfortable, they had lovely gifts waiting for us in our room, and the staff was beyond accommodating. Upon arrival, our room had a small flaw that needed professional work on, and they instantly accommodated us to a suite. Both rooms were equally aesthetically beautiful, but their response was very impressive and made us love it even more. There are a few things to the inn that could use updating as it has maturity to it, but nothing that affected the enjoyment of our experience, especially for the incredible value that they provide. Jump on it, get here, go have dinner at the Dutchess, and live like your royal self should.

Yelp
We recently had a lovely stay at the Blue Iguana Inn. Staff was extremely friendly and courtesy. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable bed. A quick drive to downtown Ojai perfect location for exploring. Given the price very reasonable.

Wee D.

Yelp
We like this place. Its feel is the OPPOSITE of the corporate/chain hotel. It is quirky and eclectic and charming. By staying just outside Ojai, you'll save yourself a tone of money. Pet friendly is a plus also. When we stayed, the hot tub was sadly not operational. Otherwise, all good.

Yelp
We rented the King Patio suite for 3 people and the experience was relatively nice. The environment and surroundings are beautiful and we had a pretty good experience. We stayed in the suite for one night and it included a full kitchen with everything from pots to pans to utensils and cups included. They also have a microwave and stoves. The kitchen was great and very convenient. The suite had a king sized bed which was nice but a little small for 3. The bathroom is clean and has a bathtub/shower, a sink, and includes some basic toiletries like soap, moisturizer, conditioner, shampoo and makeup wipes. The only complaint I have is the TV, which was kind of small, and doesn't have any Netflix or channels like that, only TV channels. Furthermore, when we tried to play a movie that we rented from the front office (they have a huge selection to choose from for free!!) the remote didn't work. The TV is also kind of small but there are two, one in the bedroom and one near the couch. The patio was great and they have candles to light. It was a little cold when we went so it was too chilly to sit outside for a long time. However, the seating and surroundings, as well as the greenery, really complete the vibe of this inn. Overall, an amazing experience.

Yelp
Loved this place. Julia at front office wasn't very nice when I told her we forgot a souvenir item though, she could kind of care less lol but hey that's 2023 customer service for ya! I mean I understand we shouldn't have forgotten something but she wouldn't even "guarantee" she could hold it for me for TWO days lol. Anyways not a big deal life goes on. A very charming property to stay in.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Blue a couple of times. The last time i stayed for 2 nights. I was shocked to find the door to my room wide open upon coming back from an outing. I had thought it was broken into and became quite concerned. Apparently, cleaning service was that careless. I made a complaint to staff and neither the manager or owner contacted me about the incident. They literally did not care. For your own piece of mind, I would stay elsewhere. There are better options in Ojai.
google avatar

Yelp
We've stayed at the Blue Iguana twice. Both times we really enjoyed ourselves. It's our Ojai home away from home. We live in Downtown LA. An escape to the Blue Iguana is now our favorite escape from city life. We stayed in #5 and #8. My favorite is #5 but instead of a large flat screen we had two small TV's. Totally okay with me but my hubby prefers the large screen in #8. When we were tired and wanted a lazy afternoon we watched DVD's provided by the Inn. I liked the bathroom in #5 better. It was bigger and offered plenty storage space for our toiletries The kitchen in #8 was better to me. It's open and part of the living room. Both units offer plenty outdoor seating which I enjoyed. But #5 also has private back patio with dining area. You can access it from the kitchen and the bedroom French doors. There's a hot tub and pool. The pool was deep. 8feet. The deep end is larger, probably twice as large as the shallow end. There's bike rentals. Croquet and other lawn games. On of my favorite personal touches are the snack baskets. There's three refreshments offerings: the complimentary basket, the paid basket, and the refrigerated selection I could go on and on but I'll stop here. We are already looking forward to our next visit

Yelp
What a lovely hotel! Our room was spacious with a king bed, fireplace, tub and shower (great water pressure!) and a kitchenette- even a semi-private patio outside! All the little extras (snacks, souvenir glasses) were clearly labeled so no accidental fees. For being such a small hotel (maybe 10-20 rooms of varying sizes?) there were a lot of nice common areas like a grassy picnic area and the pool & spa. It was a great spot for a couples retreat as well as a nice family stay! If we had stayed another day, I would have borrowed from their collection of bikes and ridden along the bike path nearby! There's a coffee pot in the room but the continental breakfast is an extra cost. We drive down the road and had breakfast at Love Social Cafe where we got a discount for staying at the Blue Iguana! They also offered discounts at other local eateries & wineries! I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
I stayed here in September and while there were a few changes and restrictions due to COVID-19, it was still a generally pleasant stay. The check-in process was contactless but super easy as The Blue Iguana sent instructions a few days ahead of time. My husband and I stayed in a King Suite which was very spacious. The room had a patio, full kitchen, living room, and huge bedroom. We were working remotely so it was nice to have so much space. While the hotel is not in "town" it is extremely close - less than a 5 minute drive to the main strip of restaurants and shops. The Ojai Bike Trail is just across the street, however bike rentals were not available during COVID-19. The pool and hot tub were available by appointment. When I went there was no one else there and it was peaceful. The hotel is very cute and well decorated. The only issue we had was the massive amount of flies in our room. I killed many of them but there were so so many flies that were everywhere, in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living room - they were persistent on buzzing around my face. This may be due to the heat as it was really warm when we visited but it was quite annoying.

Ron W.

Yelp
Very nice in steps away from the Main Street. Very nice accommodations, we had a two bedroom suite and it had a small galley kitchen. Inn keeper was very nice.
google avatar

Debra M.

Yelp
Quiet, spacious rooms, nice outdoor spaces and clean. Always happiest when my dogs travel with me and this spot is dog friendly. Wish there was a more nominal dog charge for tiny dogs. Otherwise, perfect weekend getaway.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
We loved our stay here. The room was very nice, the staff was great. Would definitely come again for another quick getaway.

Donna C.

Yelp
This is a really special property. Super nice staff, suites and cottages are what are offered. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the rooms are spotless and the bed - really comfortable. Unlike the chain hotel properties that say they are "dog friendly" we're pretty sure they're charging $100-150 to have a dog is not dog friendly. Blue Iguana charges a much more reasonable amount and we appreciated being able to have our small dog with us without having to pay an arm and a leg. We liked the place so much we stayed an extra night. Having a kitchen or kitchenette is very handy and the kitchen is well equipped. This was our first trip to Ojai and knowing about the Blue Iguana Inn ensures it will not be our last. We will be back!

Yelp
Wonderful doesn't even begin to describe this place! We've now been here twice in the past four months, and it offers such a nice respite from the rat race. The young lady at the front desk is so nice and charming, and remembered us from our last stay. She's very sweet and accommodating. I forget the name of the room we were in this time, but it was on the "other" driveway across the large grass area, on the right side of the property. It was it's own little building, with a gate and courtyard. The room was charming (all of them are). It is so peaceful and quiet, you can just open the blinds and look out at the woods and watch the leaves blow and hear the birds chirping. The breakfast buffet is ok but nothing to write home about. Interestingly enough, the "fresh" banana bread tasted somewhat stale each time, but that is certainly no big deal. Our room had a fridge, full sink, coffee maker, and some other kitchen items. Some other rooms have full kitchens. We used the jacuzzi which was great and they provide towels and bathrobes too. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that the Blue Iguana is not walking distance from the center of town. Try their sister property, Emerald Iguana for that... I think we'll stay there next time. But, you absolutely can't go wrong here. It's so clean and the entire property is very well kept... you can see the owners take pride in their properties and value their guests.

Yelp
clean. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Only issue we jade was the TV. We only could get one channel. Also the wifi went

Yelp
Peaceful Gem in Ojai- Highly recommend The Blue Iguana Inn for a relaxing stay. Adobe architecture in a magical garden setting with a lot of open patio seating with fire pits. Our dog enjoyed exploring as much as us.
google avatar

Noreen E.

Yelp
So enjoyed staying at this cute Inn. It has a nice pool, a good grass area and tables to enjoy being outside, dvd movies for check out and bikes to use. Our dog was allowed with a $25 fee. The room was cute and clean. We will definitely be coming back here to stay.
google avatar

Yelp
The website for this place does not do it justice. It is a fantastic property, reasonably priced, super comfortable, clean and a really nice staff. It is a much better value than the oversized operation of the Ojai Valley Inn.
google avatar

Sophie R.

Yelp
Perfect perfect perfect for a romantic getaway! My boyfriend and I were looking to meet somewhere for a romantic weekend away and this was the best place. The staff was lovely and helpful. We stayed in a Deluxe suite 202. We had a beautiful view, a large living room, huge bedroom and full kitchen! We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Cyndi D.

Yelp
We love the Blue Iguana Inn! Charming, the most beautiful grounds, immacuate grounds! Each room is inspired by the owner, an interior designer who has taken the time to make each room spectular with every amenity as if she is decorating your home. Carmen is one of the managers and she is so welcoming, detailed and professional and loves what she does. Speaking of immaculate, each room is spotless and with such care going into each detail. I thought I was a good housekeeper until I come here? So spotless thanks to the staff and a special call out to a gal named Flore, who goes the extra mile to ensure the rooms are perfect. Well, we as always will be back and thank you so much for a glorious stay.

Yelp
This place was just okay. The generous breakfast basket was really the best part of staying at Blue Iguana -- which included a whole loaf of locally made banana bread! The employees were also very nice and kind -- one went out of her way to make sure the water was well-heated in the hot tub as I got into it. However -- the pool is quite small and also basically right next to the main road (separated just by a wall of bamboo), so you hear the constant flow of traffic -- including very loud motorcycles and trucks -- while you're trying to relax poolside. My room was also near the front of the property, facing the main road -- so I had to wear earplugs to sleep because of the traffic noise and the noise from the old, janky mini fridge. There were a lot of small details that were off -- e.g. the curtains weren't actually wide enough to cover the windows so light came in the sides, one of the bathrobes was had a belt loop that had been torn off (the other was fine), a gigantic tangle of black cords dangled on the wall between the TV and the dresser. None of these are serious problems, of course, but altogether it gave the sense that the place just isn't well cared for.

Smitty R.

Yelp
I love the large decorated villa like rooms, the grounds, the quiet environment, the location. Our only complaint was the extra soft topper on the bed. It made our backs hurt and I had to sleep on the couch. Front desk said next time to ask for it to be removed. I will return under those terms but hope it's not a rock hard bed in the extreme ( which is better than soft though). PS I'd rather stay here than the Ojai Valley Inn!!

Yelp
This is our little get away from the craziness of LA. We plan our vacations months in advance. When we finally drive onto the 33 it's golden time! I booked a room that my boyfriend wasn't happy with (He's high maintenance the room was fine). He claims he has S.A.D., but I know he's just being dramatic. Anyway, back to my story .... Julia accommodated us with a brighter room on the other side of the property and I will forever request this room. I cannot tell you how much I love The Blue Iguana. I have been coming to Ojai for over 10 years and this feels like a home away from home. So quaint, adorable, authentic. The staff is so great. Big shout out to Maggie who is always so sweet.
google avatar

Gary W.

Yelp
Very comfortable, quaint, place to stay while in Ojai. Set up like individual suites in a spanish villa-style design. Nice multi room suites with full kitchen, living room, large bedroom, TVs. Breakfast is included, but is a bit sparse (just cereals and yogurt...a bit meager for the price). The grounds are beautiful. There is ample secluded parking, nice places to walk, and a helpful, pleasant staff. Nice 4-star experience and worth a stay.

Yelp
This will be our new go to getaway! Staff is awesome! The decor is fun and comfortable. We had a room by the pool and it was so nice just to step outside and take a dip. Staff is very knowledgeable about the area so be sure to ask them for recommendations on things to do and places to eat!
google avatar

Gaby E.

Yelp
Lovely little hotel tucked away in a nice neighborhood close to Ojai. Per friendly and friendly staff. Our room had its own private little patio that was all fenced in which was great for our small pup. Right near a bike path that goes all the way into Ojai with gorgeous views.

Yelp
Incredible hidden gem! Loved this stay. We stayed in the hacienda house and suit for a bachelorette and it's hands down the greatest. Gorgeous location! Close to downtown. Close to everything! Highly recommend! Office people are incredibly helpful and sweet.
google avatar

Yelp
Cutest place I have stayed at in awhile. Had everything. Kitchen with all the amenities. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was big and stocked with all the essentials. Living room has a fold out bed that was comfortable. Everyone at the front desk was kind and accommodating. I had an amazing time. Patio was quiet for morning coffee. I will definitely be back! Fireplace was a bonus!

Yelp
We arrived a bit early and asked if we could have an earlier check in, they told us no and that the current guests have not checked out yet (it was past check out time). We accepted that and was told they would call us if the room was ready before 3pm. They never called. We came back 30 min before check in and watched a couple in front of us get a room immediately. Again we were told our room was still not ready! When we inquired why they other people got in they said "they asked for a early check in"! Seriously! ? It is now 3:10 pm and our room is still not ready.

April H.

Yelp
Such a cute CLEAN Spanish style place! The rooms have a front patio with chairs, everything is close to the pool/spa, and the property is gorgeous !! The check in was super easy. It's about 5-10 min drive to the downtown. Not quite walking distance but a short drive or you can rent bikes on the property. HIGHLY recommend !

Yelp
Pros - comfortable beds - refrigerator, iron, coffee bar, good AC in rooms - pool was small but nice - excellent continental breakfast( bagels, pastries, assorted fruits, cereal, coffee, milk, oj) - pretty and well kept grounds - funky neat decorating inside and outside rooms - love the iguanas! - easy parking close to rooms Cons - little pricey - 9:30 quiet time curfew - kick you out of pool at 10:00pm, even if you are quiet - no ice machine on property to fill an ice chest up - called uber and lyft and got rejected by both because location is too far for them to travel. Had to use local cab company and pay $16 to our destination as oppose to $6 with uber. Clearly this is not the resort's fault, just an outside inconvenience.

Yelp
Before I get to the good part.. NOTE TO OWNER: Please train your staff the following 1. To not blame the guest for booking through Expedia with statements such as "(no greeting to hotel), just "name and who did you booked through?" and "we encourage everyone to direct book through us because Expedia falsifies the rooms." Its on you the owner not the guest... either train your staff not to say that OR actually state clearly on your website. That was literally the greeting we got after waiting for someone to return to office after a ten minute wait outside 90 degree weather. Stop advertising on Expedia, "falsifies"? Equals being fraudulent, stop associating with a company that misleads your guests. 2. When a guest ask the front desk attendee "So do you do anything to acknowledge special occasions? It's our first year anniversary." ( here is an opportunity for your employee and hotel to shine). And the response is "Well we are out of chocolates that we place in the room but we can give you a card that thanks you for staying with us.".. que Price is Right game show tuba jingle epic fail front desk staff. 3. Last give a receipt of the return deposit, the guest should not have to ask for it, at check out. How do we the guest know your staff actually processed the refund? Now, for the potential future guests. The grounds of hotel are solid. Clean, southwestern look, with cool iguana water feature as focal point. Pool was clean, refreshing, towels were provided at poolside. The room we stayed in was above the front office. Secluded from other units and overlooking pool. Had a kitchenette, gas stove, mini fridge, dish ware, fireplace, two TVs ( one in living room and one bedroom). Bathroom was clean. Bedroom clean, bed was comfy and cozy. Robes, def not plush. Continental breakfast with the local bake goods, solid. Hotel is not within walking distance of town but definitely close enough for a five min drive. Afternoon attendee was better in making up from AM front desk lady. She did a better at listening and not defending poor guest service. She gave us a bottle of white wine 2015 which was not bad.. chocolates and a card congratulating us. Would I stay here again, maybe, I tend to check reviews after ones I have written to see if trends have gotten better or worse before I decide to stay again.

Yelp
If you are driving through Ojai or anywhere near the area, book your stay at the Blue Iguana. What an amazing guest experience. The rooms are spread out and located in villa-style walk outs, contributing to the peace and the size of these rooms. Our room fit two queen beds, a large bathroom and a wet bar and a fireplace -- all with space to spare. They also include lots of guides to the area and coupons for things to do. Pool/hot tub area were beautiful and classy. They serve breakfast in the common courtyard building just outside our door (included). I will certainly be returning to The Blue Iguana

Yelp
I obviously had to cancel my reservation in the beginning of April because of this entire Corona virus and the fact that we have to stay in so I have no choice! When I called to cancel The woman on the phone and her name was Beth and she did not give that to me she only wrote me the email with her name on it to cancel she wanted to charge me $10 I said absolutely not because I don't think that's very given the situation and she was basically yelling at me and she hung up on me. This is how I was treated and I will never stay here again!

Yelp
Stayed May 2016 in King Suite #5 I think. Loved it! Our first time in Ojai and I would stay here again with the kids, if no kids I'd love to try the Emerald Iguana which is adults only. The price was right, the staff was great, I love these little personally run hotels, it's such a more intimate experience than a big hotel. The room was great, huge with full kitchen, back private patio, living room with big pull out and nice master bedroom with bathroom. We took food back all the time. Parked right in front of room, walked all over property, pool was nice but wish it was heated, hot tub was good. Overall it's quiet, beautiful grounds, you can hear the street from the pool but that's it. Breakfast was great, nicely run and so peaceful to sit on the beautiful lawn and enjoy the morning. The furniture all over property is great, great lil nooks and crannies everywhere. Lots of thought and love went into this. It's romantic but it's also good for families. You basically have to drive into downtown but who cares when it's 5 mins away. Up the street the other way are some great restaurants/markets too with easy trails nearby. Loved all the service and the ambience, so relaxing, a true get away from the city, we didn't want to leave. Even got an in room massage from their person and it was great. Would stay again, the hotel and Ojai are an oasis!

Yelp
I hate to say it, but this place is disgusting. Spider had taken up residence in the laminated and tiny shower, it feels like middle school camp in the worst way. Multiple spiders actually throughout the room. I've stayed in nicer hostels. There is no desk, no workspace, no updated or modern amenities (not even high speed wifi). Stayed here as a conference hotel was full. If you're looking for someplace to kick up dirty boots after hiking trails, this might be perfect, but for business travelers this will be a miserable end to your road and a terrible way to spend your trip! I feel bad for the owners, but I wish very much to make sure other business travelers don't fall into this same trap!

Yelp
This hotel is beyond adorable. The whole inn is well kept and the grounds are beautiful. There are lots of great sitting areas and places to relax. The rooms are small casitas with high ceilings. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was awesome with lots of great breakfast foods: bagels, english muffins, muffins, pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, etc. The Blue Iguana Inn is a great place to stay to relax and enjoy Ojai. Only sad part is that it is so far from town. It would be nice if it were walking distance to more stuff.

Yelp
l'll try to not duplicate the other reviews, except to say I agree with the 4-5 star reviews. This is a top hotel venue with large suites and very decorative villa-style design and offerings. Our two-room suite had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, king size bedroom, two large TVs, one set up for cable, one set up for DVDs from the lobby. Breakfast is included and includes an array of offerings, but not omelets or cooked to order entrees. The grounds are beautiful. There is ample secluded parking, nice places to walk, and an eager staff. The Internet is wicked fast and adequate for streaming movies or doing real remote office work. Enjoy!

Yelp
Wow! Talk about attention to detail, cleanliness, and service! I Felt like I was walking into my home, with a really nice rustic Southwest feel, beautiful Southwest rug, and nicely appointed furnishings. They thought of everything! There was a breakfast in a basket for the next day, very nice toiletries, and little details like candles and cute beaded Iguana keychains. We are definitely putting this on our list of places to come back to, when we visit Ojai. It is a pet friendly hotel, but certainly didn't smell like it, and our puppy was welcomed.
