Highly recommend this Thai restaurant! The Pad Thai here is especially good — they use glass noodles, which adds a nice texture. The green curry, pineapple fried rice, and stir-fried eggplant were all delicious. So glad I found this place!

Pra ram chicken in peanut sauce needed more peanuty taste but was good... and had a light spicy kick to it. Also you have to order and pay extra for rice.

Thai food is my wife’s favorite, so choosing Blue Mango for our Christmas Eve takeout was an easy decision and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Our order was ready quickly, and the service was fast and friendly, even on a busy holiday evening. Everything we ordered was amazing and made our Christmas Eve meal extra special. We’ll definitely be back!

We often eat at Blue Mango. Last night we ordered take out with Vegetable Coconut soup, garlic noodles, Vegan Mafia Roll and eggplant stir fry and one other sushi roll! It was a great combination of food that we'll remember for future orders!

We were visiting from New Jersey and stumbled upon this eatery. The restaurant was clean, and the waiter was sweet and attentive. The food was hot and tasty, and the portion was satisfying. I tried the Thai iced tea, and it was refreshing. I had the basil stirfry with chicken and a side of rice, while my wife had the red noodle; they were both great choices. I met the owner, and he was friendly, accommodating, and grateful. Great experience; now that's what I'm talking about. ** An update for 2026, we came back again. We always drop in for dinner when we visit California. The food and overall experience was stellar. We had the drunken noodle and the spicy fried rice accompanied by 2 Thai iced teas. George the owner is an amazing guy. You have to try his food and hospitality. You will definitely be amazed.

We went there last 11/16/24 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We LOVED everything we ordered except for the veggie rolls. 😬 The server was so kind and helpful too. 👍👍

We’ve been enjoying this place since they opened, and it’s super cool that they do both Sushi and Thai under one roof. Locally owned and the chef has been consistent for well over a decade. Today we celebrated my daughters birthday dinner, and sushi was on our mind….so we ordered hella rolls and grubbed down. Thai iced teas were tasty too. We’ll be back over and over again. One love to Blue Mango!

This is my first time at this place (well, ordering food from here) and will definitely not be the last. The place is very welcoming, as soon as it is safe to eat again at the restaurants, I will not hesitate to come here. The place small really nice and looks very clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they make sure they're handing you the right order. Food verdict: Tasty, great portions, with the right temperature, texture, colorful and textured and the have a wide menu. I ordered the Dynamite roll (sweet potato, spicy avocado. Top: cucumber, jalapeno. Garnish with spicy sauce),  curly fries (with Panang sauce), Pai Thai (with pork), and a side of curry Dipping Sauce. If you are craving or looking for a good Thai food option, this is your new place.

Blue Mango has withstood the test of time. I've eaten here for decades. Very convenient of you happen to grocery shop at Trader Joe's near downtown SJ. Best dish by far is the crab fried rice. Sushi rolls and sashimi also good but not stellar. Service of usually top notch; very friendly and relatively prompt.

Tldr value and tasty Thai food I randomly found this place and decided to try it with my family. We were not super hungry so we just ordered two dishes: mango curry and pad thai. We were very pleasantly surprised by nothe the flavor and the portion size of the food. The pad thai was very flavorful and the sauce they used to try it was really good. Most other pad thai places I have been to tend to be on the sweeter side but this was very savory and well balanced. The mango curry tasted more average but the mango chunks were interesting. I wasn't really a fan but my family enjoyed it.

I finally had a chance to try this restaurant. Loved the music that they were playing. I wanted to jump to my feet and dance. A friend and I had their sampler appetizer and ordered 1 side of rice. It was a perfect portion for 2. My favorite was the coconut prawns. The food tasted fresh and dipping sauces were tasty. My friend ordered a mango soda which was not too sweet and great flavor. Cute decor! Service was definitely below average. Definitely worth coming back. Happy to be able to get a discount on my bill by using my Passport credit card.

Blue Mango is located in the San Jose Market Center next to Trader Joe's. Parking is challenging in this ultra busy plaza. Interesting concept of Thai and Japanese Sushi. The inside is decorated like a Thai Restaurant, though, you can see the Sushi Bar and refrigerated display case for the assorted fish. They currently offer a BOGO for their Basil & Chili Stir-Fry: choice of protein (chicken) w/ bell pepper & onion. Choose your spice level 1-10 (3.5/5). They used chicken breast meat, in their flavorful sauce. Thai Ice Tea (4/5). Not too sweet, but creamy. Pretty standard. The service was nice and friendly.

IMHO Generally good food. I eat here often. I wanted to try new dishes this time. Loved the 6-piece Cha Cha wings! Didn't like the Peanut chicken salad. Chicken was horribly dry. Won't order again. Seaweed salad refreshing. Combo pad thai good.

Absolutely delicious Pad Thai--honestly, it might be the best I've had in the area. Perfect balance of flavors, fresh ingredients, and cooked just right. Service was fast, friendly, and very attentive. Everyone was so kind and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back!

I've been to this place like in my college years and haven't been back for a while. Today I got the Massaman Curry, with some brown rice; it was good and also had leftover too which I ended up saving for dinner later

I got Yellow Curry, family got sushi. Best of both worlds, waitress was on point - where can you go where the staff has worked 14 years, Blue Mango!!! Crazy. I took a photo of the place, so clean, was able to get seated very quickly. I will definitely be coming back.

I picked up an order for dinner. Pad Thai was good but the "fire wings" defined on the menu as "crispy chicken wings" were so so bad. Not cooked, not crispy at all and flavor such a disappointment. Couldn't eat it. They are very fast with putting the order together...maybe too fast. Prices are too high for what it is.

Food is tasty. Staff is so curteous. Service is quick. For me, these are main factors when I go to any restaurant. This is third time I am visiting Blue Mango.

Ordered from here through a delivery app recently. Had a Panang curry with veggies and Eggplant stir fry with tofu and veggies. The food tasted ok. Though felt the quantity was kind of less for almost $16 per dish.

Update from vegetarian reviewer: I visited the restaurant again after about 5 years yesterday and I definitely want to update my review. Happened to try a bunch of things yesterday in a big group and it was a good experience for the most part. 1. Veg papaya salad tasted refreshing, maybe 3.5/5. 2. Roti curry - curry was on the sweeter side but great, roti was oily and not crispy. I wouldn't recommend this dish here. 3. Dynamite- spicy and yum, a great try for vegetarians 4. The other deep fried sushi was not worth it, also too sweet. 5. Creme cheese wonton- crispy and simple, this was great. 6. Green curry - yum, it's a great order too 7. Drunken noodles was a good order too - spicy and appetizing. 8. Red curry- was good too There was one sever taking care for about 5-6 groups and she did a great job. The restaurant has few tables and chairs so it's not easy to find a place on a busy day. Loads of parking available in the lot where the restaurant is, even on a busy day.

Maybe we got lucky with the food because both of the dishes we ordered were delicious. The "Blue Mango Fried Rice" with chicken and sweet garlic pork had perfectly fried rice with the grains being fluffy rather than oily and tasted fragrant too. The mango poke bowl had a good amount of tuna, salmon, mango, avocado, and cucumbers with dried seaweed as well as seaweed salad mixed with lettuce on top of rice. I have no idea what the light orange sauce covering everything was but I'm guessing it was the typical mayo + Sriracha + rice wine vinegar combo I see in recipes. Service was prompt and friendly. We were the only people there around 1 pm on a Saturday. The smell of incense is really strong but I like it. Some people might find it off-putting though. Hoping the restaurant will still be around in the future and we can visit again to try something else.

Not much to say about this place. Food is decent, can't really taste much of quality with each bite. Service was good, decor was ok. Wasn't too empresses with the flavors going around our table. Just a decently rated place.

This review is for DoorDash only. My coworkers had told me good things about Blue Mango so I'm glad I finally tried it out. I ordered the fresh rolls and the Tom Kha soup (a cup which is actually a pretty good portion). The fresh rolls were different from others I've had in that they had actual mango in them, which I thought was delicious. The sauce on the side was great too, not overly spicy. The Tom Kha had a good flavor but was pretty thick; the texture was not my preference but I did like the things that were in it (mushrooms, tofu, tomato, some cilantro). I would order again.

Felt sick right after and fried sushi was hard and stiff tasting over fried . Was extremely disappointed

Bringing this review up to a 4 - ordered better this time! Love the vegetarian sushi selection here. The Dynamite is HOT!!! The Vegetable Mafia was sweeter with a nice crunch (not overly fried). The curry fries had no business being this good. First of all, please advertise that these are seasoned curly fries. The best fry, period. And the panang sauce with it was honestly genius. Husband enjoyed his hot sake and hot tea. Notably, the service was helpful and attentive. This spot definitely moved up on our list.

The three stars is for the food because the service is five stars. Very sweet server basically working the whole place by herself. So this place has both Thai and sushi which to me can be sus. To be fair, I did not try the sushi so this review is only for the Thai. They have many vegetarian options which I love. We started with the curry fries which we thought would be nice fat fries covered in curry sauce but actually was curly fries with a bowl of curry. Not a fan of the fries but the yellow curry was good. We also ordered the Spicy Fried Rice and the Spicy Fried Noodles. The rice was good but the noodles are way too oily and so salty we couldn't even eat more than a few bites. Also, they will ask you how spicy: 1-10. We said 15 but it still wasn't spicy. My sister said the curry dishes that come with rice are good here so maybe stick to rice items.

We were quite excited to try this spot out, but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The menu hosts a very large span of options, but the food we got was just ok. The Pad Thai was slightly bland. The biggest thing was that the servers seemed to be in quite a rush to get us out of the restaurant. Not a very pleasant overall experience.

I was craving Thai food, but the place I usually go to wasn't open in time for an early dinner. I saw that Blue Mango opened at 4:30pm on a weekday. I've only been to the restaurant twice, and the last time I went there must've been almost 10 years ago. I was overdue for a visit. Customer service was great. Nice staff and food came out in a timely manner. The food was tasty and very flavorful. We ordered the tofu larb, prawn pad see ew, and massaman curry with chicken. I really enjoyed the tofu larb. We got it with a spiciness level of 3, which had a nice kick to it. I'm used to seeing larb deconstructed, so the lettuce leaves would still be whole so that you would scoop the filling into them. They chopped the lettuce for you and mixed everything up, which was fine too. Pad see ew is my favorite Thai noodle dish in general, but unfortunately I didn't care much for Blue Mango's version of it. The flavors were there, but I thought that the sauce was thin and noodles were overboiled and mushy. I tried the massaman curry, which was standard. I did find it a little too sweet for my liking, but my boyfriend really liked it.

The reviews for Blue Mango seem so mixed but I have always had an overall positive experience. Maybe it's because I'd come here on occasion as a high schooler/college kid with my mom when she used to work in the area, and Blue Mango brings up nostalgia. My mom no longer works nearby but we decided to meet up for dinner here during my recent visit to SJ for old times sake. It was just as lovely as I remember it. We came on Tuesday night, and while the kitchen was busy with pick-up orders, we were one of only two parties dining in. Our appetizer came out super fast and we loved the Fresh Spring Roll featuring a piece of fried tofu, mango, lettuce, cucumber, cilantro and mint wrapped in rice paper with peanut dipping sauce. The lettuce was crunchy and the mango + tofu was a fun and addictive combination. I got the Ocean in a Coconut (which was not actually IN a coconut, but did feature large slices of young coconut), a savory, mild-spice curry-type dish with calamari, prawn, basa white fish, mussel and scallop. Super yummy and worth $22 in my opinion. My only qualms are: 1) If you want rice, you have to order a side of rice separately; the curries and specials do not come with rice ($4 for Jasmine or Brown Rice) 2) They are often out of dessert items (I really wanted the fried banana with ice cream and it was unavailable. My second choice would have been mango with sticky rice but they were out of that, too.) I settled on the tempura ice cream for dessert -- it's difficult to share with two people since the ice cream quickly melts when you slice the treat down the middle, but it's a delicious not-too-sweet treat. Server was super nice and my mom was obsessed with the holiday ambiance and blue fairy lights. Very friendly but slightly elevated dine-in atmosphere.

This place has great curry! It is a little pricey for the amount of food but quality is no joke! So yummy and comforting. I will be going again! The service was great and welcoming.

I visited this restaurant twice: once 1-2 years ago and sat down to have lunch and the second time yesterday for a pick up. Not sure why I did not leave a review before but this place definitely deserves one. Both times I ordered several types of sushi and they were delicious at Blue Mango. Everything about their sushi was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy inside, with many people stopping for a business or casual lunch. The service was excellent, zero complaints

Came here recently again after not having been here since before quarantine! The food is SO flavorful, better than I remember. I got their curry fries and a pot of chicken tom kha soup - best tom kha imo! It was huge, could be shared with 2-3 people. We were really lucky and came when the restaurant was nearly empty on a Thursday at 6:30pm, so we were seated fast. Soon after, the place got crowded and there is limited dining space inside. The restaurant also ran out of brown rice and when we wanted to order dessert, they were out of all their thai desserts! Which was disappointing since I love their fried bananas. Therefore, even though the food is great and the staff is very kind, I had to give four stars for the place often running out of menu items.

I have visited this restaurant about 6 or 7 times now - I've waited a little while to review this place because the food was very good the first time and since I work close to this place and if I like it I will probably come back for more. Well I've had several of the dishes and they were all DELICIOUS. I visited today and ordered the Pad Kee Moa or something like that. The place was very busy and some soft music playing in the background, however I know that most of the dishes served here are not of the gourmet category but that's what I like about them. I mean I feel very "AT HOME" when I sit down here and the food is CONSISTENTLY very delicious and very warming. I think the owner was the person who actually served me today - a very nice man and I think he may have even been a South East Asian person. I don't take pictures of my food so you won't see too many pictures on my posts. But the food here is Awesome and the staff is very nice. Blue Mango - your food is delicious and your staff is very nice to talk to. "I'll be back"!!!!!

I came in not knowing exactly what to expect but walked away honestly surprised by how tasty everything was because each bite just had a really balanced flavor that wasn't too salty or bland but had enough punch to keep it interesting without overwhelming your mouth, and while the place itself was clean and chill, what really stood out to me was how kind everyone working there was, like they weren't just doing a job but actually trying to make sure folks were having a nice time, even little things like checking if the food was okay or if I needed anything else but not in a pushy way, more like they genuinely cared, and even though I've been to lots of places where the food was good, this one stuck out just because the vibe felt more human and easygoing, like they actually liked being there and it showed through everything from the way they spoke to how the food looked when it got to the table, it all added up to something simple but memorable.

I love Blue Mango! Went here last year for Valentine's Day when all the other restaurants were booked and they had space. I love their yellow curry & my partner always gets the Pad Thai or the blue mango rice. It's always been a hit & they are so sweet !

The Chicken Teriyaki is terrible and should not be on the menú. The homemade sauce tastes like soy sauce and a little sugar with no spices added. I think the chicken is cooked and frozen; until you order it and they attempt to make it fresh again to serve to you. Unfortunately, the result ends up being a rubbery tasteless piece of chicken and a major disappointment. On 12/31/24, I attempted to eat lunch there and was surprised that they were not offering lunch meals due to Holiday excuse that today is a Holiday, but they give you a lunch menú to order from instead of a dinner menú. I informed the server that the Holiday is 1/1/25 and she stated that they were using an extended over the weekend/Holiday no lunch meal Policy to justify the no lunch meal, but since I only found out about it after the food arrived without the soup I inqiured about, she would give me a 15% discount. Tacky and I don't like stunts like this. So, I won't patronize them for a while, if I even care to return to this business for Thai food.

The five stars is for the mango curry with shrimp, which was recommended by the staff. It was like having pudding with the goodies hiding inside, and not watery like at other places downtown. When the curry is too watery, the water dilutes the flavor like eating chicken noodle soup. When it is not watery, it's like eating Reeses peanut butter cups. This mango curry was like the peanut butter in the cup, and the rice was like the chocolate.

We went to Blue Mango for their week of birthday deals and tried a variety of different items including their yellow curry, panang curry, mango curry, pineapple fried rice, stir fried eggplant, pad Thai, seafood feast, and a couple of their sushi rolls. My favorite dishes here were the curry dishes. You can choose what kind of protein you want in your curry (chicken, pork, beef, tofu) and how spicy you want it as well. Their curries have good flavor and they put a good amount of meat in them. Their pineapple fried rice and pad Thai were only okay to me. I've had better versions of these two items elsewhere but they did give big portions. Their stir fried items were cooked well and also came with your choice of protein. A few of them were a bit oily but had good flavors. One downside to their food is that nothing comes with rice. You have to pay extra for rice if you want it or make it at home. It's hard to eat curry without any rice. The service was ok, call in your order ahead of time or order online if you want take out. They got quite busy for the specials so ordering ahead was a good idea. For the birthday prices, food was great! Not sure if I'd pay their full prices though. They do seem to have specials a few times throughout the year.

Thanks to my fellow Elite friends who keep tabs on great deals, I was able to come by Wednesday 11/3/21 to get some of their birthday half-off deals. I called in my order to have it ready when I arrived after work. The lady on the other end of the phone was very friendly when she realized after I told her my second desired item that I was ordering off the specials menu and told me that it was a great deal. I arrived at the restaurant and was greeted warmly. My food was ready within the quoted 25 minutes. I was surprised to find that she had given me a complimentary order of egg rolls too. When I got home we dug into the curry first. It was just what I had been craving--slightly spicy and with rich coconut milk flavor. The sushi roll was surprisingly better than I thought. I had eaten sushi here before many many moons ago and was not impressed then. The fish cake appetizer was okay, but the egg rolls were nice and crispy! The birthday deals run until 11/9/21 with different specials each day. I already have my eye on the green curry and a few of the other sushi rolls to visit again one more time before the promo ends. For sure, the next time I am at Trader Joe's next door I'll swing by and grab one of the curries as the portions are big enough for 2 meals.

This local spot is not too busy, it's very diverse in the menu, the prices are great, the ambiance is cute and the staff are super hospitable! This is a fusion of two of our fave foods, sushi and Thai food! So we just had to stop by! I will come back again!

Picked up takeout yesterday after noticing it next to Trader Joe's after our grocery run. We picked up the pineapple fried rice, the Pad Thai and a dragon roll. None of the dishes were amazing, they were all just fine. The Pad Thai was a little flavorless until we added some lime juice. The roll was again a bit bland even after being dipped in soy sauce. The pineapple fried rice was fine. We probably wouldn't go back but it wasn't terrible.

20% mandatory gratuity. After this, the payment machine will be set to 18% tip by default. If you choose default, it will charge you 18% tip after the 20% gratuity they add. I didn't notice the gratuity because the waitress was standing on my shoulder immediately I got the bill, leaving me no time to check. It is an intentional hassle to choose 0% tip when the waitress is standing on your shoulder with the credit card machine. This left a very bitter taste.

I drove by this place many times and never tried it until today. what have i been missing!!!! The food is so good and fresh. I had the basil stir fry with beef and side of garlic rice and appetizer of cream cheese stuffed wontons made fresh daily. WOW! so delicious! Definitely try this one out you wont be disappointed.

It's hard to choose what to get from this restaurant as they offer Thai food and sushi and more. The tom kah was delicious with big pieces of prawn. The yellow curry was creamy and coconut flavor was on point. The chicken on curry and pad Thai was dry. I drizzled some of the curry on my pad Thai. Our server was attentive. Ambiance was nice with holiday decoration by the entrance. Several patrons were unable to dine in or place orders for takeout as they arrive when lunch service ended. The restaurant closes at 3 pm, opens at 4 pm for dinner.

Went back and was pleasantly surprised how much better this place was after my last experience several years ago. Food was good! Service was great!

Oh my god.. One of the really transfixing sushi's I've had The only complaint was the tom yum soup being on the sweeter side. We ordered three orders for two people, adding the the third one at the end as we craved after loving it. We had the Dynamite, Avacado and the Vegetable Mafia Sushi. I am definitely going here again as my next order will definitely consist their Roti Good service and quick as well. Quantity- 5/5 Quality- 5/5 Taste - 4.8/5

I've been to Blue Mango at least a dozen times as my office is not too far away. It's a good place to have a lunch meeting or to just meet with some friends to catch up. I met with my good girlfriend yesterday for a quick lunch and I have to admit that I have forgotten how good this place actually is. Thai Food and Sushi is the theme but the fusion is what makes it fun because there is something for everyone on the menu. I ordered the Crab Fried Rice and it was sooooo good. The portion was huge so I had to pack some home but the flavors were all there. My girlfriend ordered the Spicy Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) and I had a taste -- super delicious. We ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls to share and I thought the mango added a very refreshing touch to the spicy homemade peanut dipping sauce. I love their dessert menu also. Who is their right mind would ever deny Fried Banana and Ice Cream?! And, the gentleman who waited on us was awesome. I'm looking forward to returning and trying their sushi rolls. 5 star experience all around!

Every menu item was delicious. Waitress was attentive to our table. Interesting decor. I didn't have a problem with smoke and incense as another reviewer had. I think the curry could've been more spicy though.

I also love my spicy foods so I opted for spice level 9 (you can choose 1-10), let me say it was actually spicy! Portion size was pretty big so I had to skip dinner. Entree came with tofu soup, small salad and option of brown or white rice. They have a promotion going on right now; there was an Easter basket full of Eggs, you choose one and inside its 5%, 10% or 15% off your next meal. So fun! Definitely will be back soon to work through the menu.

Stopped in here during a busy lunch hour and luckily got quickly seated. The Hostess/waitress was extremely efficient as she was the only one there. It was impressive how well each table was served and topped off with beverages. Our food came out pretty quick despite the busy hour. I ordered the spicy noodles with tofu and at a 7 heat rating. This place likes it hot! Glad to find a restaurant that really can deal the heat out. The noodles were delicious and surrounded with sprouts and peppers. The tofu was really good, just a touch crispy but still smooth. The 7 heat here was comparable to ordering a 10 at some other places that I've frequented. Great service and great food.

My work group came here a couple of weeks ago. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. I can't say enough about this place and looking forward to going again!

We were in the shopping plaza and saw this restaurant. A very small place, we decided to go try it out. It's clean well maintained place. The servers knew their menu and were very helpful. There were plenty of choices for vegetarians. The food was spot on and really good. My 12 year daughter loves this place so much that today we went there again for her bday dinner. I highly recommend this place.

I normally love the food here. At my last meal here I ordered the Pad Thai with crab. The crab was not fresh and had a terrible smell.
