Fantastic bar, restaurant and venue. My wife and I play here with our band “The Masons band” and it is such a great place to perform. The staff is great and the food is unbelievable. Best burgers around and the best chicken parm I ever had. Highly recommend coming here for dinner!

Food is terrible and the service isn't that great either love the blues nights order a bowl of chili it's really a cup ordered a pastrami sandwich with Swiss cheese They put a half a slice of Swiss cheese on it. Pastrami is burnt eat before you go. Waitresses are nice but they're not attentive enough. Music is good atmosphere is nice The crowd is very mature on the blues nights. Can't speak for any other night, but remember eat before you go there. Their food is terrible.

Great little find with PHENOMENAL live music. The bartender was so polite and attentive, would go back just for her! 😉

Arrived very late on Tuesday evening was sat at the bar 10 min b4 serving food but let my friend & I order. WE were pleasantly surprised.Food was fast and presented beautifully ,mine actually had an orchid flower top.

This was a stop that was part of a Santa Bar Crawl my husband and I went to. Small, but cool. Had a pool table.

This is a local spot for me and I'm glad live so close. The food is amazing, the people are super friendly, the atmosphere and entertainment is awesome. I recommend anyone to come here. My new favorite place.

The staff is great, very attentive. the food: some dishes are great, some are ok. had a bigger topped with mushrooms, it was really, really great. Overall, I would really recommend this place.

Great place to go get a drink. They have also good snacks, appetizers and food. The place is cozy and the bands that play there on the weekends are great. . The staff is always welcoming with a gentle smile and nice greeting. It is a place to go to!!!

Stopped in for a drink and ended up loving the vibe! This cozy jazz bar in South Amboy has such a cool atmosphere. They feature live music that changes from time to time, so definitely check their site for the schedule. The bartenders were fantastic--friendly, attentive, and quick with recommendations. They also have outdoor seating both in the front and the back, giving you plenty of space to relax and enjoy good drinks and great music. If you're in the area, stop in on a jazz night. You won't regret it!

I love everything about Blue Moon Went in for an early dinner with my DIL our first time visiting Nice cozy atmosphere and the barmaid/tender Pricilla is so friendly and welcoming she made us the most wonderful Margaritas We had the pot stickers on special and burgers. All the food was delicious and perfectly cooked we will definitely return soon and recommend to our friends My new favorite place

Fun bar with good food and live music on Friday/Saturday. Highly recommend the scallops if they have them and the burgers.

What a great little bar in downtown South Amboy. kind of a small place, they have one long bar, a line of small tables, and a very small stage for live music. We arrived got dinner early Friday evening and sat right down but by the time we left after 10 o'clock the place was in full swing. They have some great specialty martinis and a good variety on their food menu. We started with some raspberry martinis. For food, we ordered the drunken clams, which were in a beer broth, and really good. Then we had the crabcake sliders which were filled with crab and had a very tasty sauce on them. They stole the show in my opinion. For dinner, we shared one of their specials that night, which was stuffed flounder. Flounder was stuffed with crab, shrimp, and scallops and topped with a lemon sauce. Served with fresh grilled zucchini and white rice. It was very good. We ended the evening with a couple of toasted almond dessert, martinis and boy were they amazing! Our server was very sweet and the service was quick and efficient. A live band was playing blues, music that got everybody in the mood and the place was swing in with good times. We even made a couple of friends that we friended on Facebook! This place is my husband and I'd go-to hangout spot. We love the staff and atmosphere. Live music is always good! They have specials multiple days of the week. Wings are great and so is the lemon drop martini !

Good bands, great bartenders (Camille is the best!) and good food. The food has always been good but daily food specials have boosted these guys to 5 stars in my book! Had flounder stuffed with lobster, shrimp and scallops last night.....awesome! Keep up the good work!

Seriously, just a perfect local pub. Great draft options and simple pub items on the menu. Kudos to the genius behind the complimentary toiletries & such in the woman's restroom.

We sat in the back patio area. One server/bartender for the front inside and back. She did an awesome job serving everyone and made the drinks perfect. Lemon drop martini and key lime pie martini both amazing. I'll have to try some food next visit. So happy I finally came here.

Blue Moon is such a great local spot. The bartenders are friendly and make great drinks, the food is solid, and they always have live music on the weekends. Grateful to have this in the neighborhood!

Very nasty woman, not sure if she was the manager,owner or waitress! We heard her yelling at a potential customer. Over a simple question, we walked in and walked right out again. I did eat here once before, food was just ok....burger was over cooked and dry. Two strikes you're out!!!

Great little place with great food & service! Husband had the Cubana sandwich platter & I had a Portobello Salad. Live music genre varies. Saturday night, NO PROMISES (a Classic Rock band) played & they were excellent. Fun loving mixed ages crowd! 2/29/2020

When you order a Caesar salad with shrimp, and it comes out with 4-5 butterfly shrimp, and the server accidentally drops one on the floor and throws it away, the server should apologize and bring you another shrimp. And it had better not be the one he dropped on the floor while serving you.

When I ate there it was the mini burgers that did me in! My mouth watered just thinking about ordering from there.

Nothing beats the blues but to hear jazzzz on thrusday evenings in Blue Moon! Great music, drinks and company. I strongly recommend the ginger beer spiked with a shot or two of vodka! The food looks good, especially the hamburger being enjoyed by the person sitting across from me! Will give it a try next time! The Cuban sandwich listed on the menu is a travesty! Chicken instead of pork...nah...

The band was excellent and they weren't so loud you couldn't hear each other talk and the food was out of this world. Although we had simple food ( pierogis and hot dog)s).But these were some of the best I had ever had. I can not recommend this place enough. Regrettably the bands are only on the weekends.

Been in several times, really nice owner. Good bar food, burgers, sammies etc. live music some nights nice in the summer when all the doors are open. Just stopped in for a beer and checked out their new menu, we had already eaten but will be back to try their new pastrami..sounds delish!

By far the best bar for miles around. Such a shame the locals dont frequent more often. Incredible live music, friendly staff, clean, appealing, atmospheric.. should definitely be busier.

Came in to hear the jazz go down and enjoyed it immensely. Good and tasty eats and not too expensive. Close to home (sorta). Attentive staff. Will be back soon

First timer.. Good burger, great Long Island Ice Tea (don't judge f'ers), and awesome live jazz on Friday nights. Oh, and Brian the bartender is a good guy, take care of him if you go (no, I'm not Brian). I'll be going back.

Nice little pub near my sister's house. We stumbled upon it when we were looking for places to eat late that night. The place was a decent size area with a small stage and lots of little tables and chairs to sit on. They said there would be people singing that night and that they usually do, but when we went they were just playing music. I actually enjoyed their wings. My girl loves ribs, and she asked for extra bbq sauce on the side and they gladly said "sure" no problem. I had a couple of coronas and we called it a night after we stuffed ourselves. Staff were super friendly and the place looked like its been around the south amboy area for years. Glad to have found a little place like this near my sisters place. Its like a hidden gem.

Nice local bar, but the biggest surprise was the food! I had the best ever Cuban sandwich with slaw, that put most of the authentic sandwiches to shame! Must be the BBQ beef they used.. now I can't wait to try the BBQ sliders.. I expected nothing, but received the greatest surprise of gastronomy! Thumbs up for this local dive!

Come here usually on Thursdays for live jazz. Came tonight (Tuesday) for the dinner special and OMG what a deal. Delicious! Had the 2-for-$12 special pasta - stuffed manicotti. The marinara is homemade! You KNOW I'll be back. The special tonight includes mix-n-March burgers and sandwiches. Come on in - you won't be disappointed.

From upstate Ny, stopped in before going to a show at PNC. First let me mention how super friendly they are, the bartender was awesome and she chatted with us which was nice. My husband and I both got burgers and they were pretty dang tasty. Oh and homemade potato salad! Forgetaboutit!! We have another show coming up soon at pnc we might be stopping by again.

I went to the Blue Moon for the first time tonight, and I couldn't have been more pleased. If you like a non-pretentious bar with great food and drinks that are reasonably priced, this is your place. Great service from Shayna and Gillian (sorry if I misspelled) and the chef was great. Large bar w touch tunes and a lovely outdoor area away from the street. Highly recommend.

Great service during COVID, 3/5 wings, great location, good looking space. I can't wait to try it again when it's busier, I hope they maintain a high level of attentiveness then. Though until then, I'll enjoy the sense of space the lower capacity provides.

A welcoming local bar, w/ great decor good food & Jazz Bands on Thursday nights.

This bar is one long room with a cool black and white checkered floor and old fashioned style pendant lamps hanging from the tiled ceiling. People on dates were chatting at the bar, and other locals were enjoying drinks and bbq ribs. The food is really good, they have amazing chicken wings and every saturday a bbq with giant $5 burgers that come with potato salad and corn! The place has great music, live in the pm (there is a small stage) and soul from the radio in the afternoons.

Very clean and quiet place. Good music and not too loud (usually my biggest complaints about bars is music too loud). Bartender very friendly. I was having a bad day and I puked on the patio and knocked over a beer bottle and he still didn't kick me out. Guess he felt bad. Yet he still came out to make sure me and my party were doing alright. Fair priced drinks and made well. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Looking forward to going back on a more positive day, lol. The people in this place are as amazing as the food. We stopped here on our way home to Massachusetts from rehoboth beach in Delaware. We had no idea of the town of south amboy but yelp recommended this place so we went for it. They had a plate of ribs for 8.50 that were to die for, I had a chicken salad which was really good and my vegetarian son had a caprisi sandwich which was delicious. The chef, Gary Palumbo came out and talked to us like we were old friends as we sat in this really cute patio area and we learned enough about this amazing man to know he is a force of life.. Wow. The owner also came out and talked to us..such a sweet and kindhearted woman. The waitress was so friendly.. Even if the food was bad, which it wasn't.. We would have come back. I wish we lived closer so we could come more often. Thank You blue moon restaurant for making us feel like movie stars..you guys rock!!!

What a pleasant surprise. Needed a restaurant in the area before a concert and a friend found this one the web. When we walked in we were a bit nervous. A Wednesday night and only two people sitting at the bar. It was cold and rainy, so maybe that was the reason it was empty. We split the hummus appetizer which was good, but the sandwiches were excellent!!! The salads that came with them were home made and excellent as well. Not the normal "store bought" stuff you see at other places like this. I live almost an hour away from here, but would make the trip again!!! The biggest surprise was getting the bill. You could barely in a deli for that price and it not be nearly as good!!!

Do not eat here the service is terrible. Waited 90 minutes to get food and my husband after 2 hours found out that his order was not available. Only here to see the band but definitely last time I will visit. Had a similar experience 4 months ago. Be warned.

Nice place. Clean. Food is pretty good. Service is pleasant and timely. If you're looking for a good selection of tap beer, this is not your place. During my visit, they had a few standards on tap, one of which was Stella. More than happy to wind up here again - there's a few more items on the menu I'd like to try.

Nice small town bar. Not the cleanest but the food was actually decent. Bar tender was very nice. The crowd is older and full of regulars.

What a great place! Easy to walk in and feel at home. The bar is a mixture of people of all ages, and evryone is friendly and talks to each other. The crabcakes here are the BEST I have had EVER, and I lived in the South for half my life. The night I went there was a fabulous band there, that played everything from Classic Rock to Blues. The singer was kick ass! Also, a patron got up and asked if he could sing a song and they immediately said YES. Cool! He was good too! Its in a really funky neighborhood and looks like the place of your dreams if you just want to kick back, eat great food, listen to great music and hang out, no pressure.

I don't know. Food was decent enough and cheap. I probably won't remember what i had in 2 weeks though. Seems like a locals hangout....that's all I got on this one.

A nice little bar with traditional decor. There's an outdoor patio out back and on the sidewalk out front that's nice in the summer. Drinks are reasonably priced and the food is very good and consistent in quality.

Great little bar near home. Great martinis, and although nothing fancy, the food is good, and everyone is super friendly.Overall, a fantastic place to relax, have a drink and bite to eat.

Good place with cool bands...really laid back vibe..some creeps slink around but that's every bar, I suppose.

Cool dive bar - my favorite place to go in the area. Has buy backs and is reasonable.
