We had the worst experience last night at Blue Moon. We sat in the bar and took some time for them to even knowledge we were there. It was busy so we were understanding. Ordered drinks and a pretzel drinks arrived only a few mins before the pretzel. The pretzel was really good. I ordered a burger, my son a chicken sandwich and my wife ordered boneless wings. My wife’s wings came out and they were cold. Another 10 mins went by before the other meals came out. My bun was ice cold like they forgot to heat it up from the freezer. My son’s chicken sandwich was cold as well. Manager came over and apologized and said they would remake everything. Brought my wife’s wings in a few mins and waited another 20 mins for the rest that never showed up. Then asked for the check to just leave as we had already been there 1.5 hours and had to get to our next event. They ended up not charging us, so I asked for the cash app of server and provided her a tip. Won’t be retuning anytime soon.

Google
Good sizes restaurant with a private room for your party, plenty of TVs to watch sports and if the weather is permitting open air environment. The food was good but the menu is fairly limited and nothing really jumps off the menu at you. Needless to say that doesn’t promote a strong memorable status. The drinks were tasty however I ordered a rum and Coke and for the life of me I don’t understand why you would take the liberties to turn that into a captainand Coke.

Dined here last week and I enjoyed myself. I ordered the shrimp and grits, she crab soup, and a margarita. Hands down one of the best flavored shrimp n grits and the hottest shrimp n grits I’ve ever had( temperature wise which was amazing ). Only thing I would suggest to the shrimp n grits that I’m accustomed to is having the onions, peppers, and andouille sausages in there, even if it’s an added cost. The she crab was flavored well but was cold and I mean cold. I didn’t send it back because I feared it just being microwaved and the thoughts that go through my mind when sending food back, so I ate a couple bites and put to the side. It took the server a little over 10mins to acknowledge me when it was no more than 4 tables in the restaurant. A simple hello I’ll be with you could have made a big difference in my review. Once greeted by the waitress she was very friendly and checked on me several times to make sure my margarita was good and that I enjoyed my food as well. Now I didn’t understand how you call yourself Blue Moon Taphouse and didn’t have anymore Blue Moon which is like Starbucks not having any coffee. That was a little surprising as being a Director of Food and Beverage for a Marriott property at the oceanfront, management not recognizing par levels for weekend service( Unless Chesbay inventory was depleted )but that was a little disappointing. All in all I would return again as I did in fact enjoy my food.

Google
Nice tap house can see the water depending on seating. At the time of my visit they didn't have any special flavors of Blue Moon which seemed odd when they had taps showing different ones and it's THE Blue Moon Tap house . . . But food was good recommended the po boy.

Google
Overall, not the best. I had the shrimp and grits a few weeks ago after a Pokémon convention nearby. The grits were good, but the shrimp almost seemed like cocktail shrimp laid upon the grits. There was no seasoning and no sear. The pretzel and cheese was okay, although it just came laid in the plate instead of hanging like the one that came out behind us. They were out of a few things, like the strawberry cheesecake milkshake and one of the entrees I tried to order. No big deal on that, but the food just wasn’t impressive, and wouldn’t bring me back.

Google
Location and the draft beer and pretzel are awesome. Do Not recomend the steak, had two bites and was the worst steak I have had in a long time. Waiter didn't offer anything and we didn't ask. We did eat her 3 Days in a row and this is 5 stars for happy hour and appetizers.

Google
If you like blue moon this is the place to go to in VA beach. They were short staffed when I went. Our server was the bartender. She was holding it down. The food and drinks were good. If I went there again I would sample all the different blue moons.

Yelp
Well stopped here while in Norfolk. The vibe is great tho there's a bunch of places in Waterside that are closed until Thursday. Bummer. The great news is the food was really solid. Flavorful and really fresh. The crab queso was awesome. Loaded with crab! The crab cakes were fresh and perfectly prepared. The Tuna was a really tasty and a unique presentation I loved! Here's the bad news. My server was abysmal. While I was there I saw her once every 20-30 mins while all the tables around me (different servers OBTW) were checked in on and taken care of two to three times more frequently! I had to ask another server for more water and a take-away box because mine was a no show. Ordered a beer and a cocktail twice and never received either - and yes I asked multiple times. Really not good. Thankfully neither showed up in the bill when it finally came. No kidding. So I dropped two stars for it. I hate doing that because the food was great. But my server really killed the experience for me. Such a shame.

Yelp
Food got here before drinks which reading the reviews is a known issue. After waiting 30 min for the drinks after the food arrived i was told actually we don't have the mix for the drinks. lol

Yelp
I ordered a burger with no sauce since I have an allergy and they brought it with the sauce. I asked for a new one and they brought it back with a new bun and clearly brushed off the sauce and brought it back. Burger King does not even do that, they would remake it. The staff was rude about it and they gave it to me with cold cheese. Save your money. Go to Burger King.

Yelp
Nice place. Very big and with seating outside both in front and the back. Wings are pretty good

Yelp
I normally stay at a hotel near the Waterside market and at least once per work trip eat at the Blue Moon Taphouse. Got the fish tacos which were pretty good but small. Service is very hit or miss at this restaurant. I've never had an issue with my server (a younger guy who was very nice) but have seen people waiting to order while other servers pass by them when the restaurant is nearly empty. I can tell by their reactions that they were very frustrated that they had to keep waiting. My food also took pretty long to bring out even though there were only 5 tables total with people in the whole restaurant.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to take a trip up the coastline to visit the northeast this year for our annual vacation. We left Louisville Kentucky, and drove to Norfolk Virginia to start our adventure. After a very long day on the road, we did not really want to search all the restaurants in the local area so we walked towards Blue Moon Taphouse. We did not have a terrible experience at Blue Moon Taphouse. In fact, the staff was very friendly, and our server was magnificent. The reason for the rating was a very simple one. The fair was very underwhelming and nothing better than what you would find in any other average hole in the wall bar. We both ordered the fish and chips because that is one of our favorites and the breading was not crispy all. The fries probably would have been fairly good, but they were not hot like you would expect in a dish like that. Again, I will reiterate the fact that we did not have a terrible experience. If you are just looking for a place to grab some local pub fair, a quick meal, and a cold beverage, Blue Moon Taphouse is a great place to go. If you're looking for something, that's just a little bit better than that, I'm sure there are other places in Norfolk Virginia.

Yelp
Blue Moon Taphouse is a very nice venue with extremely bad beer. To qualify this statement, I am a fan of beer, a lover of all beers. Since I have not visited every brewery in Norfolk, I can't say they have the worst beer in Norfolk. But I have visited a good number of the breweries here, and Blue Moon Taphouse is the absolute worst beer. I sampled four of their beers and they were all awful. The only redeeming quality was the bartender who served me. She was the best. If I had cash I would have tipped her. And she is the reason I did not give one star. The beer at Blue Moon Taphouse is absolutely awful. And that last statement is far from hyperbole.

Yelp
Not a good thing to say Cold soup burnt calamari what can you say .Beer was cold other than that stay away

Yelp
This was a great find! We were craving yummy bar food and this place filled the bill! Our server, Harvest, was so fun and attentive. We had some incredible wings, excellent cheese curds, and a huge serving of nachos. Wings: sauce was so good that we didn't want to conflict the flavor with ranch/blue cheese. Cheese curds: standard, yet perfectly delicious. Nachos: huge serving...easily would have fed four people. Kitchen forgot the the black beans, but Harvest quickly took care of that. Could have used more jalapeños, but more than satisfied the craving for nachos. Bar service was a bit slow, but very good cocktails. 100% will go back!

Yelp
Some food was decent, some not so much. Tiniest calamari pieces I've ever seen... mostly breading... also got a deep fried lemon in the mix. The chicken tenders had very little meat, again, mostly breading. Catch of the day plate was mostly French fries. Food took FOREVER to come out. We could see the kitchen from our seat and they were definitely in no hurry. Positives... server was nice. Cool building and location. Felt like a tourist trap just drawing people in with the Blue Moon name.

Yelp
"Blue moon Now I'm no longer alone Without a dream in my heart Without a love of my own" (The Marcels) This was a tough night to visit the Blue Moon Taphouse for dinner because they were down five servers on a super crowded dinnertime rush. That labor shortage affected everything we experienced -our check-in process, ordering, food delivery, and bill preparation. The hostess station was unmanned when we arrived, and things seemed hectic and disorganized when someone arrived to see us. There was some discussion between two employees as to where exactly to seat us, and we ended up being escorted to a high-top table for two ways in the back between the bar and outdoor patio. We each started with an Island Breeze Cocktail ($9) and that was a pretty good drink of layered yellows, oranges, and reds that reminded me of the old Tequila Sunrises from back in the day. Our server was Vernae, and I must give her credit for trying so hard to make the best out of the restaurant's shorthanded situation. She remained smiling and friendly, but it was clear she was operating under stress with a much larger station than normal. My wife ordered an American Cheeseburger with fries ($14.99) and I ordered a Korean Bowl with julienne carrots, red cabbage, charred broccoli, diced cucumbers, romaine lettuce, sesame seeds, green onions, gochujang sauce, citrus soy sauce, and steamed rice with a substitution of shrimp for the default grilled chicken ($18.99). It took a while for the food to arrive, and when it did, I was disappointed to see chicken instead of shrimp in my Korean Bowl. The order went back, Vernae apologized, and after ten minutes or so the dish came back as ordered. During that time, I mooched some of my wife's French fries, and they were excellent. I think they were seasoned with Old Bay spice, because they were sprinkled with a reddish coating. My dinner was great - 8 big shrimp sitting on a bed of lettuce, vegetables, rice, soy, and gochujang sauces. When our check came, I noticed we were charged for two Korean Bowls because the initial (but incorrect) Bowl with Chicken wasn't deducted. So, we let Vernae know, and she hustled back with a correct check that totaled around $60 for two drinks, a cheeseburger/fries platter, and a Korean Bowl with Shrimp. I think it's very unfortunate that the Blue Moon Taphouse puts their employees in such a tough position. Having to run that gigantic dining room while being down five servers is quite challenging. We even saw the young lady from the Hostess Station way up at the front of the room running back to our section to bus and clean tables. But in all fairness, our food was excellent.

our server, Megan was excellent! Very attentive, friendly and so helpful! Went above and beyond to make it a very pleasant experience

Yelp
This place should shut down their kitchen!! We stopped by after a 4.5hr drive and famished! We ordered calamari for appetizer and 2 salad bowls 1 with chicken and the other with salmon. Everything came out at the same time. The calamari was cold, chicken on the bowl was right out of the refrigerator and had a bitter taste. The avocado pico de gallo was missing avocado and the sushi rice was just a very cold ball of sticky rice. The salmon was also cold and the middle was nasty! Definitely not fresh. They replaced the calamari with an extra salty and extra crispy one that we left it sitting at the bar. We offered to pay for it it since we sent the rest of the food back but the lovely lady behind the bar declined our offer. We sent the rest of the food back too and walked out hungry and disappointed! Only good thing about this place was that lovely lady behind the bar. She was definitely overwhelmed but managed it well & delivered greater service. Definitely the worst establishment we've ever been to.

Yelp
Service was soooo sloooww. Sat at the bar to watch football, the first bartender completely blew me off. She walked around and around doing nothing. I finally flagged down a waiter and asked if I could see a menu. He acted totally bewildered like he has no clue what this "menu" thing is. Finally, the restaurant manager brings me a menu. A new bartender shows up - some girl walking around in a trance, but I manage to get an order in for tacos and a beer. Then a third person shows up and trancy Tracy just up and leaves. The third bartender, a guy now, loudly complains to other workers that she just wanted him to cover for a few minutes, but she's gone. Well, at least the tacos were decent. Took another half hour to pay the check and leave.

Yelp
Came here for a late night dinner with friends after traveling all day. Our server was ok but very slow. We sat outside which has a nice patio, wish it was overlooking the water vs the street. I had the Cesar salad with shrimp and thighs it could have been bigger the price we paid. There were out of coors light bottler and my friend had to go with a different option.

Yelp
"KIM" Our Server for the day Made the outing worth coming back for. After the disappointment of hard ass rice in my rice bowl, KIM resolve my issue by taking it off the bill and providing me fries until we left . she kept my drink on the ready and the tea was sweet sweet , Just how I like it !! The visit was disappointing: not the first, but KIMS Service made this a spot to try again. My Buddy's burger was also not necessarily to his liking ( the doneness of the burger Nit as Requested, a bit Over Cooked for Him) but consumable so we're both willing to give that a not thumbs down and not a thumbs up but a kinda of shaky thumb... we'll try again Hope to See KIM Again!! Thank Youuuuu!!!!

Yelp
The worst wings and drinks I've ever had....The wings were hard as hell and unseasoned... the "alcoholic" drinks tasted like Kool Aid... no alcohol present!!!! The best part of this dining experience was our sever Taylor. She was sweet and accommodating and very beautiful ... she even comped our wings.... But I will never eat here again, at any location !!!!

Yelp
This is a Blue Moon tap house. Half the Blue Moon taps were out and no Orange slices available. (Sad face).

Yelp
Service was nice but we were forgotten and had to ask for both our food and refills. Great location on the water but it doesn't translate to good eating. We waited over forty minutes from order to food on the table and all we ordered was fish and chips and a salmon bowl with fries. It wasn't even busy. We had to ask for our food and she told us it was slowly coming out. My coleslaw was warm and the salmon bowl got cold fast. You could tell our food sat under a heat lamp for a bit Too bad too because this place could be great. We probably won't return unless guests want to go. The fish was good but too small of a portion needed either one more piece or bigger pieces.

Yelp
Came in for a drink drink. Great selection of non alcoholic beverages. Went with ginger berry blitz tasted great

Yelp
Do not come!!! Terrible overpriced food, awful service.. 180 dollars for 3 salads and a sandwich and two rounds of beers... also took two hours to get the food.

Yelp
Wouldn't be my first choice in Waterside, many other places to visit. But we just wanted to see what a Blue Moon taphouse was actually like. It's literally just another bar. The food was a bit pricey for the entrees we saw others having while we were there. The night shift bartenders were hustling to say the least to keep up, while competent, they were just understaffed with no help in sight. The night we were there the bar was packed and loud - hard to have conversations with so much noise. We checked that box and we can skip it in the future. Nothing too interesting here unless you want to taste-drive the Blue Moon mixed beers. I asked the bartender to give a little more definition around what they do to the beer to make it mixed/flavored beer. They never came back after the "be right back" to explain.

Yelp
group of 11 went to celebrate my great nieces college graduation. She graduated summa cum laude! We waited 1 hour before being seated and once seated about 5-7 minutes before being greeted by a waitress and about another 5 minutes before our drink orders were taken. The waitress took 4 orders, walked away from the table without the other orders. I called her back to say more people would like drinks. She went to the other side of the table to take the orders. She returned with water and 1 drink. When she finally returned with the other drinks, we asked to order. We placed orders for appetizers and food. 3 asked for She Crab Soup because we were hungry, 1 ordered a pretzel and 2 ordered wings. 2 soups were served. Both ladies with the soup said it wasn't good, but they were hungry. The food came. I asked for my soup and lemon for my fish. We ate. I asked for my soup and lemon. My sister was still waiting for her meal. The waitress said she would cut more lemon. My cole slaw was on my plate in a small amount. I asked that my mother's cole slaw be served. It came in a bowl. When my sisters meal was delivered, her cole slaw was in a bowl. After my niece and great nephews finished eating, their appetizers were served. When we received the check there was a facility charge. The waitress didn't know what it was for, so I asked for the manager. The manager explained that it was a tax shared by the restaurant and the city for entertainment charges. Really? We couldn't even see the TV. No one ever asked if we wanted more water, more drinks or mame here is your soup and lemon. I asked her to take the soup off of the check. She said would you like it to go. Nope. I don't ever have to eat at this restaurant in life. We've lived in Norfolk for two years. My husband and I have eaten in restaurants that were busier and received better food and service. This was my first time eating at Waterside and my last at Blue Moon.

Yelp
We decided to head to Waterside last week to grab a bite to eat and ended up at Blue Moon Taphouse. Since it was nice outside, we took advantage and sat in the front outdoor area of the restaurant. Our waitress quickly greeted us and recommended the OG Orange Crush after I asked for her recommendation on which Crush drink was the best. The Orange Crush tasted like an orange dreamsicle, it was so refreshing and delicious. After looking over the menu for a few minutes trying to find something that stood out, I settled for the Caramelized Onion and Bacon Cheeseburger. In my opinion, the food menu is pretty limited and it would've been nice if they had more options to choose from but that seemed like the best option. Our food came out pretty quickly though. My boyfriend asked for some mayo to add to his burger but he was almost halfway done eating his burger before it was brought out. We also had to go find ketchup from another area since we were waiting a while for that as well. The burger was pretty good but I did ask for it to be cooked medium and it was cooked well done. We ordered the Creamy Spinach Artichoke Dip as well which was served with pita bread and tortilla chips. The Dip was pretty good. Overall, I would probably return for the drinks but the food was mediocre and the service could have been a little better in my opinion.

Yelp
Restaurant/ bar in the water district. They have a large circle bar with lots of TVs. They also have a lot of blue moon beers on tap with all kinds of different flavors. Atmosphere is average but good place to watch sports. The service was good. The beer was average. The food is also average, we for the pork belly tacos and they were just okay. We also got the bbq shrimp and grits and it was just okay as well. Overall average place, with average food.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped by here last night for dinner and neither one is were impressed. My daughter ordered the beer burger with fries and i ordered the catch of the day. My daughters burger was prepared as she asked but was not happy about the pretzel buns taste and the ratio of burger to everything else. Her plate was $17 i believe. My "catch of the day" just so happened to be a small fillet (maybe 3oz) of "blackened" salmon. The fish came with less than a handful of fries and a spoonfull of coleslaw. A spoonfull of coleslaw?! Very disappointing to pay $23 for a small piece of frozen salmon that costs like $3-$5 and to serve it with coleslaw and French fries. I wont be dining here anymore. Their beer must be verrrry good. If you aren't drinking here you probably should not be eating here.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The bartenders Hysonnia and Shallah were attentive and the ahi tuna was amazing.

Lisa L.

Yelp
The first day we went we were served with a smile. The second day we weren't. I asked to be seated on the terrace. I was told that the bar wasn't serving outside, eventhough there were customers seated there. My niece and I were seated by the cash register by the door. The floor was sticky. I only stayed because my niece was with me. The food was ok. Loud talking employees are unacceptable. I had to ask if we were there too early. I had to ask if I had to go to the register to pay. There was an important conversation between the employees, I guess.

Yelp
Three of us went in to Blue Moon for a late lunch on Saturday. It was obvious the restaurant was understaffed because the lone bartender was taking care of not only the bar but all tables. (This happening on a festival weekend isn't great planning on managements part.) Not her fault, and she did great under the circumstances, but it made for long waits to get food, refills etc. The food was very mid....nothing to write home about and definitely nothing to come again for.

Laura O.

Yelp
Staff was amazing! Location was awesome! Establishment was very pretty! Food was decent!! Who doesn't love a Blue Moon on Tap!?!?

Yelp
Upsetting to see the recent 1 star reviews. Went on a Saturday afternoon for late lunch after shopping downtown. First time to Waterside. My friends wanted to go to Guy's restaurant but it was not what we expected so we sat down at Blue Moon. Fairly empty when we went. Waiter was amazing! Very attentive and responsive. Spinach dip was sizzling when it came out. Chips were very stale but we asked waiter for more pita bread and he accommodated due to stale chips. Burger was cooked to order! Very delicious but I took the lettuce leaf off. Fries were terrible and didn't end up eating. Overall, I probably won't recommend or eat here again but it was a good burger. Could be a good place for sports I feel like.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch, located near the waterfront and the Naval Museum. I had the beer bartered fish & chips, with a side of coleslaw (with no dressing, it was shredded cabbage), the aioli was ok but I wished it was tarter sauce. The food was nothing special, not memorable. Service was good. The restaurant looked nice, lots of indoor and bar seating, it was nearly empty when we arrived.

Ryan Y.

Yelp
Every single thing about this place was amazing. From the atmosphere on the patio, we were able to bring our dog. Our waiter "Joe" I think his name was, was amazing, bringing the dog a water bowl. All the food was delicious. We are on vacation and couldn't have had a better experience! Will talk about this place for times to come! Thank you!

Yelp
We went to the Illumination Parade in Norfolk last night. I went to the host and asked if there was seating outside. There wasn't and there was a wait in general, but they added us to the list and noted we wanted outside. Luckily 45 mins later they called us for a table outside. Our server was busy but friendly. We ordered the pork belly nachos, spinach dip, and bee sting wings. The nachos and wings came out first and eventually the dip. We had a perfect view of the parade. I wish they had heaters outside but we were lucky to even get a table. It was a lovely night and I will go back.

Yelp
I came to Waterside with some visiting family on the afternoon of the Jazz festival. When we got to the table is when everything went downhill. We were seated at a table covered in crumbs. I had to use my personal stash of Wet Ones to clean it off before I felt comfortable enough to sit down. I never fully relaxed, though, because the floor under the table was noticeably dirty, too. It was also sticky. In my experience, a dirty floor usually a sign of the service I'm about to receive, so I wasn't excited at all. The hostess handed us menus, then left. I opened my menu and it was dirty, too, with broccoli and cheese pressed between the pages like a rare butterfly collection. Our waitress came over, dropped waters at our table, and said that she would give us some time to look at the menu. She left before we could say anything. I was a little confused because when I had visited once before I didn't remember receiving waters that I didn't order, so I don't know if that's a new thing or a testament to the service from the time before. We looked at the menus (around the broccoli display, of course) and we were ready to order about 5 minutes after she left. At the 10 minute mark, I was looking around for our server. At the fifteen minute mark, the table that was seated exactly one minute before us (we had literally followed them into the restaurant. They had a different server.) received their food. They received their food before we even got our drink orders in. After almost 20 minutes, our server appears to take our orders. I order a Sprite, an American burger with bacon and no pickles, chicken fingers for my son, and spinach artichoke dip for the table. My party orders. The waitress doesn't write anything down. She says, "Let me repeat your order and make sure I've got it right." She did not have it right. She repeats my order but instead of pickles, she omits onions. I correct her. She proceeds to get other orders wrong at the table as well. The kitchen and its runners are pretty efficient; soon after we order, the appetizer comes out. The runner sits down our spinach artichoke dip and asks where to put the creamy Parmesan dip. I look around the table because I don't remember anyone ordering that. No one claims it. Just as I thought. I let him know that we never asked for that and the runner apologizes and excuses himself. The spinach artichoke dip is delicious. Even the small children in our party enjoyed it. About 10 to 15 minutes later, our food arrives. My burger comes with pickles despite my best efforts. My cousin's burger is missing something. His girlfriend is visibly displeased about her food too. The runner (he was literally the best part of this service) offers to take it back, but at this point, it's been almost an hour since we were seated. We just want to eat and leave. I pulled off the pickles myself. The waitress finally checks on us to ask how our food was. It's been ten minutes. Any grievances we had were swallowed with our meals. My cousin's girlfriend does speak up to clarify that she wanted Parmesan cheese sprinkles on her fries, not the order of Parmesan fries she received. She explains it was her fault for not being clear, but she just wanted the waitress to know. She also says that she never received the barbecue sauce she ordered on her food. To our waitress's credit, she did try to rectify this by bringing a small cup of barbecue sauce and a bowl of Parmesan cheese, but it was too late. The sauce was too cold to put on her now lukewarm sandwich and the fries were just about gone, so there was nowhere to put the cheese. Our waitress disappears for another 20 minutes after that. We've been here for over 1.5 hours at this point, so it's easy to figure out her hiding spots. This time, she's at the cash register by the bar, answering a text on her phone. We wait patiently for her to finish her phone conversation and walk to the door to once again serve the tables that deserve it (that doesn't include us). I flag her down before she could get too far and ask for our checks and to-go boxes for my son's meal. She goes to get them. I tell my party of have their payment ready so we can give it to her as soon as she returns so we can leave. This was the fastest part of the service. We received our checks about two minutes after requesting them, but she leaves before we can hand her payment. Great. We're stuck in purgatory for even longer. It's a blessing and a curse, because the extra time gives us a chance to look over our receipts. After the worst service of our lives, we're each charged a venue fee?? It's a small fee, but what is it for? Why are we charged extra for sitting in the restaurant? Where else would we eat the restaurant's food? The "venue" wasn't even clean! We never receive the to-go box, so I go to the kitchen myself to request one. I box up my own food, give the empty plate to the friendly staff back there, and we leave. We won't be back.

Yelp
I ordered the cod tacos. Let me tell you they were 100% the best fish tacos I ever had . Nice amount of fish and the slaw was delicious. The bar tender ( I'm an ass because I cannot remember her name) was on point and super friendly. Ambiance was nice and I have no complaints. I'll most definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family .

Yelp
We've been here before and enjoyed it but today our wings were served undercooked (see photos) and not very flavorful. The service was slow and they got our order wrong. We were part of the group event and hoped for a better experience. Perhaps the worst part was the indifference expressed when we informed the staff about the raw wings we were served. The response was "thanks for letting us know".

Yelp
I'm only giving three stars because I see that management responses to these reviews and I hope to hear back. The phone number has not worked all day. They advertise that they have a great outdoor waterfront patio overlooking the Elizabeth River, which is true, every time I've tried to go there in the past eight months there's a sign saying the patio is 'closed for a private event'. There has never been anyone on the waterfront patio at the alleged private event. Instead, they seem to only open the patio that overlooks Waterside Drive. So instead of the Elizabeth River as your view, you can enjoy the cars buzzing down the road. It's especially frustrating as I believe there are very few places where you can dine overlooking the water in Norfolk. Here, Stripers next door, the Grain, and Mack's Barge which is on a small waterway in North Colley. Not sure if Guy Fieris has waterfront seating. I've never seen anyone out there. It's extremely frustrating that every time I go, they have the great outdoor patio closed. Once they admitted it was closed because of staffing issues but somehow they can staff the patio that overlooks waterside Drive. Once they told me it was closed for a wedding, surprising to see no one attended this alleged wedding. Please open the waterfront patio. You advertise that you have one, but it's seldom open.

Yelp
I must say that I'm disappointed mostly with the service from the staff. My first visit it was not terribly busy. But it seemed like our server was distracted by something. After sitting, it took about 10 minutes for her to come by. When she did, she took our drink orders. Then we waited for our drinks to arrive. Next, she took our food order. Our drinks arrive. Our table, which had been used, was not cleaned off. It pretty well stayed almost until we left. I had a Southern Mule. It was served up in a glass cup and not a copper one. After another 15 minutes or so, our food arrives. I ordered the pork belly tacos (it comes with a side of chips and salsa). I must say I was a bit disappointed. I found them to be flavorless and filled mostly with veggies and very little pork belly. The chips were okay and came in a basket. The salsa was in a small cup, so you couldn't get a big scoop of it. The noise level was moderate. I've not been on a weekend, so I don't know if it's better or worse. Later, the same day, a group I was with had a meet and greet in the shared area of the place. There wasn't a lot of choice, so I opted to go back to order some wings. I was told to go straight to the bar. I stood there for nearly 10 minutes as 3 bartenders walked back and forth serving others. I left and went to another business. The wings I got at Guy Fieri's Smokehouse were really good and messy.

Yelp
Sat outside and our table was a little wobbly. Our chairs didn't look very clean. Hair in a drink, my food was okay which was a flatbread. Husbands food was over cooked. Spinach dip was good though. Menu was a bit lacking in options. Waitress forgot about items we requested, asked for table to be cleaned before sitting, and wasn't as attentive. Drink I ordered was missing the sugar rim. Not sure if the Yard outside is part of Blue Moon, but needs updating as game Pieces are missing. Great view and location but improvements are definitely needed.

Yelp
My friend and I been in search for some good happy hour places. We recently found out about Blue Moon Taphouse Girls Night special - Every Thursday they have 1/2 off apps (excluding wings), $5 margaritas and Lemon drops, and 1/2 glasses of wine. We decided to give it a try and enjoyed it! It was fairly empty and calm - which we enjoyed! We do not like loud rowdy bar spots. But it was still a vibe! They had good music playing from a live DJ, not overly crowded at the bar, and regular moderate volume of other people talking. They also have beautiful scenic outside seating that you can sit at. Which we did sit at eventually to get some fresh air. It was beautiful and relaxing sitting outside by the water watching the sunset! Perfect spot for a cute girls night and happy hour festivities. Not too loud, crowded or rowdy like other bars may be during their happy hour special days. They have good options for apps. We got the spinach dip and the tuna tataki. My only complaint is our spinach dip was a little burnt on top. Our bill was around $25 - $27 a piece - we both ordered 2 apps and 2 drinks! Overall we enjoyed our experience here and might make it our Girls Night Happy hour spot!

Yelp
Service was slow. Beer came out after the appetizer, we were literally 4 feet from the beer and it was last to come out.

Yelp
Fantastic meal, service was great! Small issue, I got brought a warm beer by the server but I'm not super mad about it. She was very friendly and kind. Brought food out at a good time. 8 mins for fish and chips to be ordered and served.

Yelp
***UPDATE*** I ate here again to give it another shot. First, the service was really good. Our server listened and understood we were in on a condensed timeline. The nachos were pretty good and the tacos were well done. I would have liked a little more pork belly on the tacos but it is what it is.

Yelp
I came here for a light dinner and must say was very impressed. The place seemed crowded so I expected there would be a wait but surprisingly I was seated right away. I decided to be seated outdoors since there was a live entertainment show going on. It was a little loud but again it's due to the live show not the restaurant. At first there was no server so when I asked a guy if he could call the server, he said he would but came after a few minutes and decided to take my order. I was impressed how he handled the situation rather than make me wait. I ordered the ponzu salmon and with the ponzu sauce on the side. I'm glad I requested it on the side because it was very salty. Other than that the food came real quick, fresh and hot! It was around $24.

Yelp
The food was horrible. My friend ordered the salmon and he received a very small piece that was over cooked and dry looking. The Manager and 'chef' came to the table and he got another piece that was a little bigger and a little less dry and over cooked. They offered us refills on our drinks and said they would take care of his meal but they did not and left his meal on the bill. The waitress took forever and never bought the bill to the table so we left a tip on the table and got up to leave. She ran up to us and handed us the bill with an attitude, we noticed his meal was on the bill, I went back to the table and took the tip back we paid the bill and left. It was NOT a good experience and we will NOT be returning. I wish we did take pictures because they would have said a thousand words for sure.
