Blue Nile - Review - Finsbury Park - London - The Infatuation

"The first thing you’ll notice about Blue Nile is that you’re surrounded by people who definitely aren’t on their first visit to this Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurant. On a busy stretch of Seven Sisters Road near Finsbury Park, regulars wander in to wordlessly pick up their go-to order at the bar and older gents share family gossip and a steaming combo platter in a quiet back corner. The extra tangy, fragrant injera should serve as the foundation to any meal at Blue Nile. It’s the ultimate enabler for ensuring that you can scoop up every last mouthful of the refreshingly gingery alicha kik and tongue-zapping doro wot. Although we’ve got a soft spot for the hum of Theodros Mitiku saxophone solos inside, the little pavement terrace out front turns into its own buzzing scene when the sun’s beaming full-force. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Pause Unmute Food Rundown Mahiberawi Meat Combo When it comes to allocating your injera air time, you’re going to want to dedicate the most time to the sizzling berbere doro wot and the meat platter’s underdog—the vegan alicha misir wot. These yellow peas have attitude and their comforting, turmeric flavour lingered long after we performed a self-satisfied chilli strut up Seven Sisters Road. It’s also worth noting that Blue Nile’s injera is a touch thinner than average, but it’s extra tangy. PlayMute video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

I ate here with my family and was highly impressed. All members of staff were courteous, kind, patient and knowledgeable. Food was very well priced and worth every penny. (I shared the meat combo for 2 and we struggled to finish it!) Drinks were also priced very well and this is one of the few places in London you can get a double gin and tonic for £6!! Overall a very positive experience and would happily come again.

Extremly good and delicious lamb with a wide variety of spices. I don't personally like lamb, but after my visit, I dream of it. Top spot !

Amazing staff, very nice, respectful and friendly. It’s nice to come to somewhere you wouldnt usually come to and be treated as if you’ve came here your whole life. Good beer, good vibes and good people. Never had a problem here and is my favourite place to go to after I finish work. They treat you like family and even if you’ve never been before the staff make it very comfortable for you to be inside. More than welcoming and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Food is very very nice too. Adiam is the absolute nicest person I’ve met whilst working in Finsbury Park and is so welcoming and overall very good person. If theres anywhere to go it’s blue nile!!

Rude and unwelcoming staff. The place looks rundown and old. The majority of the clients are frequently drunk and very loud. The waitresses typically shout to be heard over the loud music. Unpleasant place, especially for families and children. Keep away from it.

I enjoyed my time here a lot with my family and friends. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent as well as the atmosphere and the customer service was 5 star with reasonable prices with a very clean environment. Well recommended.

Peaceful & Warm. Courteous staff who delivered with grace & favour. Food served under the sun alongside three cold beers. Music playing in the background. Nice.

I've never had Ethiopian before so didn't really know what to expect, the waitress was very patient, for example when I asked where the bread was when the tray of food was on bread and extra bread that looked like a roll was included. Food was tasty, experience was nice, beer on tap, cheap and local. I'll definitely be going back.

Just tried the injera from this place and it was fantastic and fresh. The staff was friendly. I will definitely be going there again and trying more things.
