Updating my review on Blue Nile to provide transparency to future customers who ultimately decide to purchase their jewelry. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had. While I continued to maintain contact via BBB as a mediator, Blue Nile did not want to negotiate or concede to fair customer treatment. Blue Nile notified me that security will be in contact in the near future, and after speaking with their Loss Prevention team, I still came to no conclusion where my actions were justified. Rather, I was penalized in the end for trying to some to a fair resolution. Every customer service representative and Loss Prevention representative lacked the transparency and empathy. They continued to deceive me by deflecting my concern and focused on getting payment information. Time and time again I requested to talk to a manager to help resolve this issue, however, I never able to reach one. While the LP personnel attempted to negotiate on my behalf, the explanation I received did not provide any additional insight to further negotiate a fair settlement. In addition to deception, they also relied on fear tactics. Customer service representative continued to deflect explanation on each other, and stating that my case will be brought to security. In my BBB complain, they explicitly stating the following:
"However the mistakes occurred, we don't ever wish to cause such frustration to a valued customer, nor do we excuse the mistakes and mishandling that may have happened along the way. While we cannot undo what has already occurred, we are committed to providing whatever service you need to complete and finalize your purchases. Due to the nature of the situation, our Security team will be in touch to assist further."
The language is very clear: we want our money without compensation.
Their loss prevention (LP) team did reach out and I tried to request a dialogue with someone who would be able to provide more insight to a fair settlement but again, there was no connection and it was deflected back to the LP team.
I do not recommend Blue Nile for anything. Customers, please research the customer reviews covering Blue Nile as there is merit to the complaints. I believe how the company has responded to their customer complaints speaks volumes on how they manage their business. They do not care about customer service nor do they want to help you find something perfect or special for you. Please stay away from this company. Unfortunately, BBB could not able to further pursue the complaint as I believe Blue Nile stated they would take legal and criminal action if I did not resolve this directly with them.
