I used to be a loyal customer of this fishmonger. For years, they offered incredibly fresh seafood at fair prices, and you could always count on friendly, knowledgeable service.
Unfortunately, things have changed — and not for the better. Over the past few months, the quality of the fish has noticeably declined. On several occasions, I’ve bought seafood that was clearly not fresh: dull eyes on whole fish, an unpleasant smell, and slimy textures. Once, I even had to throw out calamari the same day I bought it because of a strong ammonia-like odor.
It’s really disappointing to see such a reliable place lose its standards. I hope they make improvements, but for now, I won’t be coming back. When it comes to seafood, freshness is non-negotiable.
