Blue Orchid Thai Cuisine

It was our first time coming here, and we really enjoyed our experience! Their crab rangoons and panang curry (I got it with lobster) was so good! Our waiter Dominia was very friendly and answered all of our food questions. We were even greeted by one of the owners, I forgot his name, but he was very inviting. We will definitely come again to try different items on the menu.

We love this place and we come here often. Food is very delicious. We are just disappointed in the donuts. They ended up changing them and they weren't very good at all. The dipping sauce didn't even taste the same. We have gotten them before and they were the highlight of dinnner. Round, hot, golden and delicious! Plus the dipping sauce takes it to another level.

What a great experience! Our server, Tori, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. We ordered Blue Orchid Phad Thai and the Thai fried rice with crab. Both were fabulous. The portions were generous, we took home about half of our meal. This was our first visit, but we will be back!

What an amazing experience at this restaurant. Highly recommend it to be honest. Had a very nice date night with my wife and food was just amazing. For appetiser we had summer spring rolls with peanut sauce. My goodness, the peanut sauce was just amazing loved every bit of it. For entrees we had pad Thai noodles with steamed tofu and glass noodles with fried tofu, I must say pad Thai was good but the glass noodles were spectacular had it for the first time it was amazing. I must thank our server CHELSEA she was amazing and sweet and recommended great stuff for us as vegetarians overall an amazing experience on the Memorial Day !!!

Tyler was the best server I have ever experienced. She is fabulous, has perfect customer service, made the whole dining experience amazing, and deserves a raise. She has an affable personality. Thank you so much for the delicious food and awesome service! Will be returning.

First time dining and the place looks amazing, great decor nice and bigger than quaint. It is a bit pricey tho. We ordered the flowerbuds, I wasn't a fan but the presentation was great. Also had the spring rolls and shrimp they were good. For the entrée I had to try the pad Thai, It was OK ive had better. And we ordered the pepper steak which was good. POV...the levels of heat are a nice touch but be careful their hot!! Also vegan is avaliable on most dishes. I'd go back for a second time.

Had a great dinner here tonight. Dre was our server and took great care of us. The owner was out and stopped by our table to say hi and make sure our evening was great. Food was delish!

I had dinner here with a good friend on a Friday night as part of Blue Orchid's ongoing promotion of free meals (or a $30 credit toward pricier entrees) for a certain name each day, and we had a great time. The staff were really friendly but did seem overwhelmed, and food was slow to come out. I heard a server talking to the table next to us when they mentioned that, so I'm assuming something happened that night that put them behind, which I totally understand can happen. We started out with the crab Rangoon appetizer and were both really impressed by it. The crab meat tasted genuine and not like "krab" (which admittedly I still like the taste of), and the wrapper was nice and crispy. These definitely tasted house -made and not pre-packaged! For entrees, my friend got the Choo Chee fish, which was a huge serving size and absolutely delicious (she was kind enough to let me try a bite). The breading was really crispy and had a nice flavor, and the sauce was great, too. We split an order of roti and liked it -- especially the curry sauce we had on the side! I got the Phad Thai and found it decent but a bit underwhelming. The noodles were somewhat mushy, and they weren't quite as flavorful as I'd like. The biggest thing that stuck out, however, was that the serving size seemed quite small in comparison to my friend's dish and in comparison to other places I've had Phad Thai at. I was starving and ate all of it, so obviously I didn't think it was bad! I'd just be inclined to try something else next time, especially since they have some options I'm not used to seeing at Thai restaurants. The only other thing that stuck out to me was that the costs of some things were definitely on the pricier side. Fountain sodas were $5, cups of soup were $9 to $11, roti with dipping sauce was $12, many of the house specials were in the $30-$45 range, and starters and desserts were all in the $11 to $16 range. I don't think most of that is exactly unreasonable (except maybe the fountain sodas. $5 is a bit wild for that), but I mention it because I think it could come as a surprise to folks. One final thing: the space is lovely! The high ceilings and decoration make it feel like a nice place to dine in, and I definitely think it would work well for folks celebrating an occasion beyond just a regular night out. The bar area is absolutely gorgeous, too. I'll be keeping an eye out for my name to come up so I can come back and get adventurous with the menu.

I have such a tough time reviewing this place! I've been multiple times and gotten takeout from both locations. The food - absolutely delicious. The quality is fresh, the dishes have great variety and I genuinely enjoy the food The service - very mixed feelings. I have mostly gotten a weird vibe from the servers, almost feeling like they really don't want to be there which I get it's work, no one wants to work, but it makes the dining experience not as enjoyable. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and their portions are great. However, the pricing is astronomical. There are better Thai places with bigger portions & cheaper prices.

I love the new promo they are doing-- every week they select different first names at random. Customers with that name can dine-in and get a free meal (up to $30) on their specified day. My name was finally called so I went for lunch with my Mom. We sat at the bar and had great service. I ordered a cup of vegetable broth soup (size was more of a small bowl) and the yellow curry with chicken, mild spice level. It also came with brown rice. My mom ordered spring rolls and crab Rangoon. The portion sizes are good. I ate half there and took the rest home. The curry has great flavor, and my vegetable soup was full of broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. We have always really enjoyed this place and don't come here enough! I will definitely come back sooner next time. It's decorated so nicely and has always been a nice place for a date night!

First time going to this location. Ordered the papaya salad and pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. We were in a large table and the restaurant was medium busy so service was a bit slow. It took a pretty long time to get our food. Especially the dessert. A friend ordered three orders of the Thai donuts to share and it did not impress me. It had a tasteless dense churro consistency and it was only helped from the condensed milk. The app and main dish were pretty good and I had asked for the Thai spicy and they kind of delivered. It was spicy enough but I still needed added spicy sauce. The space is pretty and a good place for date night.

The food is always top tier! Thai Fried rice with fish and shrimp. 10 out of 10. Nicole was a great waitress and very attentive.

Been going to the Atlantic location for almost 5 years and it is always a good time and this time we are bringing family. Ordered Phad Thai for 2 orders, both with Seafood and yes, it was so delicious. Ordered Chicken Satay, Crab Rangoons, Tom Kha Soup as the usual orders for appetizers and tried something new with the Braised Beef-it was so good and mixed well with the rice. For drinks-we ordered the Thai Ice Tea which doubles down as dessert. So yummy! The ambiance does feel like I am back in Thailand-the music and serenity, quite relaxing and the service from Arlene was excellent-very attentive and welcoming :) Helpful Tip: On Tuesdays the Phad Thai goes for only $13 which is a really good price given the quality that this Blue Orchid has established. Also, they have Happy Hour from 3-6PM

The atmosphere and food here is so nice but we had the same waitress, Sheena, the last 2 times and she seems like she doesn't want to be there. Barely checked on us, barely talked. I heard the other waitresses/ waiters sounding so happy to be there and talking to their customers, explaining specials and we got "are you ready to order, any appetizers" and then our drink menu taken before we finished ordering the drinks so I couldn't see the name of what I wanted. I wanted a second beer but she didn't check on us but once while we were eating. I tried to ask questions about the menu and she answered so short and quickly I ended up with an incorrect bill because I misunderstood the items I tried to ask questions about. It makes me not want to come back.

My wife and I are from out of town and I was fighting a cold. There is nothing better than a bowl of soup to help and found this restaurant on Yelp. The restaurant is very clean and we had wonderful serve. Make sure to ask for Dre, he really helped make the experience so much better. We both had the beef noodle soup. Be careful going hi on the spice, I went with a 2 and it was spicy, you can always add more. Next time we come down to the Mayo Clinic we will visit them again.

First I'll say the service was excellent! The waitress was so attentive and dedicated to our large table. I truly appreciate the hospitality. The food was really tasty and good portions. I had enough to take home and have for lunch the next day. It was a little on the expensive side but totally worth it. I noticed they have a happy hour and I can't wait to try that! I did the Drunken Noodles and they were amazing! I also had a rose wine and they even let me sample it beforehand to make sure I liked it. It was a great experience.

Checked out this place yesterday for lunch because anyone who's name started with Z ate for free. My boyfriend shared the post with me and we decided to give it a shot. We've only heard good things about this place and boy were they right! Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to suggest a great appetizer for us. We started with crab rangoons then I had the drunken noodles with shrimp and my boyfriend had the pad Thai. Both were delicious and full of flavor. On our way out the owner asked how our visit was and he was just so friendly. We will definitely be back and can't wait to try out the cocktails and dessert!

We come when we are in Jacksonville Beach and love the Happy Fish, and we added Spring Rolls and Fried Rice to our dinner. Wonderful as usual..the fish with the chili sauce (on the side, thank you) is amazing. Not so sure about the Strawberry Spritzer, comes in a can, vodka abs Strawberry essence..only ok, Mike's is better but gave it a try..We highly recommend this charming place..

My coworker and I wanted something a bit different for lunch last week. I suggested Blue Orchid since she had never had phad Thai. We looked over the menu and placed our order on DoorDash. I ordered the chicken phad Thai, she decided on the shrimp phad Thai. We added on some fried spring rolls and Thai donuts to share. The chicken phad Thai was super delicious! Good flavor with mild spice. The chicken was tender, noodles were perfectly cooked, good amount of sauce. The portion was so huge, I made 2 meals of it. It was just a good reheated. The fried spring rolls were yummy as well. The Thai donuts were a nice little dessert. I especially liked the condensed milk dipping sauce. Everything tasted fresh, I could tell they used quality ingredients. My coworker loved everything, too! We will definitely order lunch from Blue Orchid again very soon!

Everything was perfect, service, quality, quantity. We have never been disappointed every time we've dined there.

My introduction to Thai food is quite new but it hasn't been disappointing yet! My go-to local Thai restaurant has been Blue Orchid - especially on Tuesdays where they have 'Phad Thai Tuesdays' where their phad thai is only $12 - but tonight I decided to opt for something different which was the yellow curry with chicken. It was a bit adventurous for me as I typically don't steer towards curry dishes but this has reawakened my taste buds in the best way! The curry was a little sweet but not in the way you would think! It really worked to help layer the dish with bold flavors and the white rice on the side was the perfect pairing. Overall the service and the food was great!

Got to sit outside today (74°). The food was delicious and our server Sheena was so attentive without always interrupting. She was always on the move. We got the roti with panang curry to start. I got the hot musaman curry with tofu and white rice. To me, it was all worth the price. I'd probably go spicier next time. The hubs got pepper steak stir fry with fried rice and would get it again. With the weather being so nice, sit outside. The ambiance is serene. Although it's also beautiful inside.

6th time here and place never disappoint. Food always fresh and delicious. Drinks are amazing! Service always on point and quick service.

My first visit here and this is definitely the best Thai food I've had since moving here two years ago! The Pad Thai Tuesday special was awesome - super flavorful, very fresh and perfect spice level. I like it SPICY so I got the Thai hot. It was a sneaky spice - didn't hit me until a few bites in, but then my mouth was pleasantly on fire (just as I like it!). Portion size was one of the best I've found in the area (but still light compared to what I'm used to up north). Carryout service was quick and the staff were polite and friendly. Only minor complaint was the parking lot - it was packed at lunchtime but only took a few minutes to find a spot. I plan on going back to try the fried rice and curry dishes. Would definitely recommend!

Love the ambiance here and at the other location too! It's a great place to have a drink or meet friends or just sit outside alone or enjoy the decor. Serves are always fast and kind and I love the crab rangoon and chicken satay. My mother actually assumes her first lunch here when she visits from NC is going to be a curry and chicken satay at Blue Orchid Def try the Thai coffee and a dressert too!

A lovely space inside awaits a divine Thai food experience. Sure, it's nestled inside a shopping center but inside you feel miles away from the hustle and bustle. The service is equally pleasing. The staff want you to be happy. Who can hate that? Plates are big. We only tried two things on our first visit. The pad Thai is a generous plate. We went for the happy hour deal on Tuesday and weren't sad we did such. We also got the chicken satay. The peanut sauce was delicious. I got the margarita too and that was perfect. It was easy to be full on an app and entree for two people. It's the kind of place you go back to a few times a year. It's authentic and delicious Thai food. OK, I call it like I see it. I already wrote one review after dining indoors at blue orchid it was phenomenal. Every bite was excruciatingly good and we loved every minute of dining in the restaurant today we were at the hospital and we ordered delivered. Everything was incredibly delicious as usual, but they didn't bring me any silverware. I don't know what they're thinking. Sometimes in these places, I'm sure this was just an oversight, but make no mistake. The food is phenomenal. You'll never go wrong if you eat here, but just remind me to bring the silverware ha ha

The food was absolutely delicious and I absolutely recommend you stop in and try it for yourself. The service was good and my server was fantastic with suggestions and attentive to drink refills. The restaurant decor was very unique and impressive to the establishment and it was not loud.

Best Thai in town. Pricy but very good food. Service, however, was odd: strange waitress was hovering in an awkward way but then when we needed her ignored us. As to the food, both the masaman and panang curries are delicious. The satay has a very nice peanut sauce and the chicken is moist, not overcooked as is all too common. Strong recommendation.

Went in for dinner. The place is clean and service was swift. Food was good but a little bit pricey for Thai Cuisine. I mean, we aren't in NY or LA or any other big cities. I would gladly rate 5 stars if it was reasonably priced. My opinion, make it affordable to the community.

Well I gave you guys another try after a year. Still a major disappointment!! "Fresh Spring Rolls" were stale as the rice paper was dried out and tough as leather, filled with iceberg lettuce... yuck. The main dish which was enough for 2 was what I considered Americanized Thai lacking in authenticity. No flavors or aromatic of lemongrass, galangal, basil. There was a fair amount of inedible vegetables on the plate which I suspect were previously frozen. Still looking for some good Thai in Jacksonville.

The soup and drunken noodles were good, BUT none of that matters! Let's get to the star of the show, the dessert. It's the most unexpected, unbelievable, underrated dish on the menu. Oooh boy, that fried, homemade coconut ice cream is unforgettable! It's worth the trip just for that.

Food was great and Jeremiah was wonderful! Patio is also beautiful! It's near the river so we had a lovely breeze.

This is one of my frequently visited restaurants in Jacksonville Florida for Thai cuisine. At this particular location they have an outside dining experience that is phenomenal along with that you are able to bring your pets. On my visit yesterday we enjoyed some of their local dishes and drinks. The waitress was very attentive and recommended various dishes to us we felt welcome as always and always enjoyed the scenery.The service was great and accommodating.

I like the feel of this place I actually started at Bangkok Thai, it was awful. This place has a nice ambiance and an appealing esthetic. Service was a little slow, and not attentive. I did notice they were more attentive to others. Guess, I had the new sever. lol. The pad Thai was very flavorful and as expected. It was a good experience. Will review again will definitely note service.

The service at Blue Orchid was incredible. The soft music creates a peaceful vibe for a lovely dining experience. The restaurant is clean and comfortable as well. Sheena was our server, she was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and so kind. Joseph, the manager, also answered our questions when he came by the table. We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Another amazing meal! Arrived and seated right away ( hint-get reservations!) they were jam packed when we left!! Flower appetizer was amazing. My granddaughter ate so much of her fried rice that we were shocked! Pad Thai-amazing too! They have something for EVERYONE. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and all the rest! Bella was a terrific server. Food was delicious, huge portions and packed full of flavor. You can tell everything is made to order! And my glass of tea was never empty. :) Grab a reservation and head here!

I really want to like this establishment.., I would even love to love it. The location is great. It's beautiful inside. The service has almost always been extremely friendly. However, their food is just too inconsistent for me, especially at their price points. Maybe it's because I'm ordering vegan options. Maybe it's because I'm ordering off peak hours. I feel like I'm ordering some of the most common dishes, and they should always be a hit, and rarely a miss. Every time I order the same two dishes, the taste and quality vary as if I'm ordering from two different restaurants. A little more consistency would be great because I do believe that this restaurant is a local gem. Signed, a very frustrated Thai food lover.

We were seated and never saw a server. Went to hostess stand had to interrupt the hostess who was talking with a bar guest to ask for server. Waited over 5 minutes longer no server. We were in the restaurant for over 15 minutes and ignored. Terrible!

Beautiful upscale setting with excellent service and some of the best Thai I've had to date.They offer a range of spiciness so you can tailor your dish to your preference. The sauces are simply sublime and the wine selections was terrific. My Sauvignon Blanc went perfectly with my Asian Sea Bass was perfectly done. We had the Crab Rangoon appetizer that was dee-lish.

Love this place so much. KT was an amazing server. She remembered us from last time. And made it feel homey. Everything was perfect!

And then there were Two! Which location slaps harder? For me, the original location will always have "the best version" of their food & drink quality. But for aesthetics, or an impressive date night - pick the newer location in downtown Jax. The decor inside and out is phenomenally creative and unique. Yes the food is just as good here but, you'll wait longer, might be slightly more expensive, aaannnddd to me a few menu items taste pre prepared in advance. I said what I said. The OG location takes its place with my taste buds. When you got the itch for blue orchid, you want the best right? The most popular item : The flower buds - taste better, much more fresh, at the original location. Try both and see what you think.

Good selection across the menu and service was outstanding. Not only was the food delicious but the plating was outstanding. Look forward to coming back soon

If you think your pad thai is too saucy, it PROBABLY is. Thank you to the manger for being so kind & remaking my order! Traditional pad thai isn't supposed to be drenched in sauce like this, definitely request LIGHT SAUCE if you don't like it!

The Blue Orchid was an outstanding dining experience. I ordered the Garlic & Pepper stir fry with pork and brown rice. It was amazing. I asked for spicy #3 and it wasn't too spicy. I'll order the same dish in the future and ramp it up to #4. My spouse had the Curry: Red and she loved it. Her dish was spicy #3 and it was plenty spicy. We also had the Fried Spring Rolls, and they were excellent too. The ambiance is excellent, classy but not snobby. Our hostess was superb too. Informative, attentive but not pushy. We'll definitely be back.
