I placed a catering order with Blue Ribbon for a birthday celebration. They were very accommodating with my requests (including changing the times around when I misread my calendar). Everything was prepared on time and the food was good. Staff were lovely during the pickup and everyone at the party enjoyed the burnt ends!

There was live music the night I went . I ordered the sticky ribs, served with cornbread and mashed potatoes—pure comfort food perfection. The ribs were rich and flavorful, especially paired with that slightly sweet cornbread. I couldn’t resist the peach cobbler to finish it off good but was not a fan. 🌟 Definitely planning to return!

We came here as a quick stop from a car trip. At first I was skeptical, because their was no one inside, but I had a bite of the pulled pork and everything changed. Definitely a Great place to go for lunch, and all of their food was delicious

This place is the freaking bee's knees of barbecue. If you call yourself a barbecue lover or if you just "like" barbecue you gotta check this place out. They have DAILY menu specials and it's always some delicious mashup like looking at the menu right now, one of the daily menu specials is a buffalo chicken caesar rollup like what?! That sounds amazing! Anyway, it was pretty easy to get parking here, but they also have two parking garages because they get THAT packed. We got platters (served with your choice of two sides and cornbread): PULLED CHICKEN Dry-rubbed boneless chicken thighs smoked until falling apart, mixed with a little North Carolina Vinegar BBQ sauce. The chicken was deliciously juicy and that vinegar barbecue sauce is unreal. I usually don't like pulled chicken because of how dry it usually is and this was just so tasty. KANSAS CITY BURNT ENDS Beef brisket that had been smoked for about 14 hours with oak & hickory, chopped up and cooked in their Sweet BBQ sauce (which is also sold separately) until the meat is caramelized and literally falls apart from the tenderness. I freaking love burnt ends and the best burnt ends I've ever had was down South and oh my gosh these Kansas City Burnt Ends were up there. So flavorful, lightly charred and just so so addicting, bite after bite. Sooo good. ST. LOUIS CUT RIBS St. Louis style trimmed pork spare ribs that had been dry-rubbed, smoked for hours til tender, then lightly glazed with their secret sauce. We got 1/3 slab which is 4 ribs. Such tasty ribs, the meat just falls off the bone, the way it's supposed to! BAKED BEANS Cooked from scratch for 12 hours, flavored with molasses and beef brisket trimmings. These beans are just a yummy classic. Sweet and hearty. COLE SLAW Shredded green cabbage and carrots, mixed with a vinegar and mayo based slaw dressing. Refreshing and light with a great crunch in between all the meats. COLLARD GREENS Big leafy greens, cooked for 3-4 hours until tender with chicken stock, garlic, red pepper, salt and pepper. These were some tasty collard greens made just the way it should be slightly sweet and earthy. Not soggy or overly salty. Just right. CORNBREAD Their homemade cornbread is so tasty, it's super light and fluffy. Ugh, so good. Crumbly and buttery, and just a teeny bit of sweetness making every bite so delicious. It paired perfectly with the barbecue meat and was able to stand alone too with how good it tasted. DIRTY RICE White rice sautéed with onion, celery, garlic, spices, and their Texas Hot Link Sausage. Topped with homemade gravy. The rice was perfectly cooked, nice and al dente. The addition of celery, garlic, spices and the hot sausage made this rice so flavorful with a hint of spice. The homemade gravy was just the perfect addition to make this side even more tasty. GREEN BEANS Cooked greens beans, flavored with mildly spicy smoked pork sausage, vinegar, salt & pepper. These green beans were soo good. Well flavored and a very slight crunch, you can tell these were prepared fresh and not frozen, they just soaked up all the juices they were cooked in, it was just delicious. MASHED POTATOES Red bliss potatoes mashed with roasted garlic, half & half, butter, salt & pepper. Really creamy with lumps of potatoes in it, lots of butter too. I really liked this side, it was well salted and flavored. Some yummy mashed potatoes they got here. I have MISSED southern barbecue and this place really hit the spot and checked allll the boxes. I'm telling you, you have got to try this place out if you're a barbecue fanatic because this place is absolutely worth the visit and try. Highly recommend!

The food here at Blue Ribbon BBQ was ok/decent. It's really hard to find good BBQ in this area so my family wanted to check it out. The mashed potatoes were good, but the meats (ribs and chicken) were just ok. Not bad, but Tennessee BBQ in Braintree is much better!

Google
-Pulled Chicken was tasty and not dry. -I selected Hot Bbq Sauce which can make up for any lack of flavor, its a decent thin sauce you can pour over yourself. But not really “hot”. Asked for sweet bbq sauce too, but they only gave me hot. -The Collards were fine but nothing amazing flavor wise. They drain the juice probably so it doesn’t spill onto your other sides. -Rice and Beans were good also, would order them again. -Cornbread is huge and comes with the meal, but it really lacked flavor for me. I appreciate it being there, but it can use some more flavor. Maybe sugar, honey, corn I don’t know. -Sweet Bbq Chicken dinner was a “dry rub” which I don’t mind, but it didn’t blow my socks off, and personally feel it was a little dry because it wasn’t cooked with the sauce they give you on the side. Mine was half a chicken, and you do get all of those pieces. The Breast, Thigh, Drum, Wing. It was short lived because it needed the sauce they didn’t give me (sweet bbq). I had to use the hot bbq sauce from my other order and it was just OK, and still dry. -Mashed potatoes looked dry, but they were actually really tasty. I didn’t need to add anything to them. I would order here again but just stick to the pulled chicken, mashed potatoes and rice and beans!!! Hopefully they give me the sweet bbq sauce next time so I can try it! The meat had a slight smokiness to it, I enjoyed it, and wish it was more of that smoke flavor. ** Also felt for a “bbq place” it would be nice if they had mac&cheese, or sweet potatoes as a side. I ordered online for pick up, which it prompted me to sign up for post mates. Just be aware. Let’s you know when your order will be ready in real time.

Definitely surprised on how good the food was. I do like a good BBQ joint. Not to many in New England. Blue Ribbon exceeded my expectations! Brisket was one of the best I have had! Wings were good. Pecan pie was excellent! Definitely a great place!

Yelp
Had a hankering for some bbq and decided to check out Blue Ribbon to go: Ribs were good but tasted a lil dry. 3.5 stars Jerk chicken was tender, juicy, and had a nice jerk flavor without being spicy. 4 stars Spicy bbq sauce was really good, but not given nearly enough for the entire Barbecue Trio Platter...boo. The beef brisket was very tender with amazing marble, yet bland and needed a little salt. 4,5 stars Collard Greens 4 stars Mac n cheese had no real cheese 3.5 stars Potato salad needed sweet pickles 3.5 stars Cole slaw okay 3.5 stars Mashed potatoes w/gravy tasted like it was made with real potatoes 4.5 stars Green beans okay 3.5 stars Cornbread was dry 3 stars Dessert Bar a little hard but flavorful 3.5 stars

Yelp
We had lunch here on Sunday. Blue Ribbon is a local chain that is known in these parts for excellent BBQ. Long ago we got take-out food at their Newton location and we remembered having enjoyed it very much. We looked forward to trying this Dedham location. It seems Blue Ribbon is catering to a primarily take-out business. While there is ample seating in this location, it isn't particularly conducive to comfort. For example, there are a bunch of tables with backless stool seating....and the stools don't look particularly comfortable at all. We opted for a high-top near the windows with tall chairs with backs. We saw many people coming in and out to pick up their orders and leave. While we were there, there was only one other diner. All that said, the BBQ is delicious. I got the pork ribs which came with two sides. I chose collard greens and rice/beans. All orders come with a hefty slice of cornbread. Tom got an order of sliced brisket. His sides were potato salad and baked beans. Both of our meats were incredibly delicious and tender. The ribs were "fall-off-the-bone" yummy. While there was some BBQ sauce on the ribs, they were not drowned in it which was appreciated as I don't like a lot of it. Tom has learned to make a delicious smoked brisket on the outdoor smoker we have at home but he thought the brisket here was even better and more tender than his. The collard greens were also delicious...I wished in fact there had been more. of them. The rice and beans were okay...a little on the dry side as was the cornbread. The portions are large enough that we each had at least half of our food left. When the BBQ is this good, it's wonderful to have leftovers to look forward to. Blue Ribbon does not have a liquor license. Drinks sold are soft drinks, iced tea, lemonade and water. We had waters. The menus are written on blackboards placed up hight...while easy enough to read, I would have preferred a menu in hand rather than standing at the counter craning my neck to look up. You order at the counter, take your seat and when your number is called you go back to the counter to pick up your food. Unfortunately, the food is served in take-away boxes and sadly, styrofoam ones. I hope they change those to something compostable. I would have course, preferred eating on an actual plate with silverware...plastic utensils are what you get....but I understand as a primarily take-out place they are trying to limit things like washing dishes. There is self-serve BBQ sauce...if you need/want extra there is a table set up with bottles of various kinds of BBQ sauce and small lidded containers in which to pour it. They need better napkins. The ones they offer are flimsy and with BBQ, one needs a sturdy napkin or three. Don't go for the ambiance as it is minimal, go for the really delicious BBQ. If we lived closer we would probably do take-out too but since we are about 30 minutes away doing so would have meant cold food.

Yelp
definitely a go to place for bbq food, they have their moments, some days are better than others. ordered a duo platter. glad they took away the option of having to pay extra for certain bbq meat like burnt ends, beef brisket etc. their mac and cheese is always a must, tastes so good and not too cheesy at all. mashed potatoes is smooth and soft. they definitely give a little less food now, i remember back then when you order the chicken, it comes in 3 pieces. the buffalo chicken mac and cheese is new and definitely had to try it since their mac and cheese is good. it was a good dish, crunchy on top and was flavorful.

Yelp
I ordered to two meat dinner: homemade mashed potatoes, coleslaw, bbq ribs, bbq Brisket, cornbread. Everything was delicious...(maybe coleslaw could have used a little more sweetness). Restaurant dining area was very clean and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

Yelp
Suggested to try by a coworker. The building is new with a spacious sit down area. The menu is on 4 boards and quite comprehensive with various options for sir down dinner but also food to go and catering options. Service was friendly but you pick up your food from the counter and seat yourself. The BBQ was well done and flavored. We had burnt ends and a brisket sandwich. It was a lot of food where we took half of it with us to go. The sides were also very well done, we were pleasantly surprised how good the pickled beets were and also highly enjoyed the potato salad and Mac and cheese. Collared greens were decent but ordered as we wanted some greens. The cobbler of the day was decent but a standard cobbler recipe.

Yelp
This place was very disappointing ordered double pulled pork and ribs. It was close to inedible. The ribs had no meat and the pulled pork was dry yet literally floating in a pool of grease. Corn bread tasted old and stale and the mash potatoes had literally no flavor. They have live music ever Thursday which I was excited about but the food isn't worth the entertainment. Included below is a picture of the platter and you can see the pool of grease clearly.

Chiedza S.

Yelp
the food was extremely mediocre, my burnt ends were basically pulled pork. additionally, after spending $60 here my partner and I both got sick hours within eating the food. This continued into the next day. I love BBQ and I've had good BBQ and that was not good! Meat shouldn't need all the sauce to be good or have flavor but it did in order to be somewhat edible, also had to add salt. location and service was fine. ambiance was fine but the food was horrible to say the least. don't spend your money here go elsewhere.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch while in the area. Service was fast and friendly. Arrived at noon, placed my order, and it was ready before I could fill my drink Ordered a 10 piece buffalo wing they had on special. Sauce luckily came on the side because it didn't really have any heat and had an artificial butter taste. Several of the wings were undercooked and bloody. The rest had a nice smoke ring and taste to them but was off put by the few that weren't fully cooked. I'd recommend getting the wings well done if they offer that and opting for the various bbq sauces they have available to serve your self.

Yelp
A family member hipped me to this place. They had some local musicians in on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't stay for that though looked like a lot of band members for the space. The food was very good. I tried the burnt ends, greens and cornbread. Pretty tasty and was enough for two people. International staff were cool.

Yelp
Lived in Kansas City for a year so Kansas City bbq will always be superior to me. Came to this location on Friday around 7pm expecting it to have a good amount of customers but it was actually completely empty. Regardless, my bf and I ordered 2 platters each: brisket with 2 sides of baked beans and mac n cheese and pulled pork with green beans and mashed potatoes Brisket: I thought they were heavily salted on some, very fatty on multiple pieces, and tasted kinda bland and balanced tbh. Baked beans side was no good, really sweet. The mac n cheese were fairly decent Pulled pork: very tomato based compared to normal pulled pork served. Sides were decent as well. Definitely would choose this one over the brisket.

Yelp
The Kansas city burn ends are the best thing on the menu! Love this place food always hits the spot!

Yelp
You really cannot go wrong here. Great amazing BBQ with an array of options for a super affordable price. Order Ahead: We always call in because anytime you go to order online the wait time for the meal to be prepared is at least 45 minutes. If you call in they can take your order and have it ready within at least 5 minutes. Dine In: Plenty of space to sit and enjoy your food. Food: They have something for everyone, make sure you check out the BBQ sauce bar and grab a couple extra varieties or flavors, especially if you are grabbing food to go, always good to pick up some extra sauce. The portions are very generous and the meat is always incredible. I personally think the sides are good but there is nothing out of this world about them. The corn bread with butter could be a dessert of itself. Great for catering, feeding large groups, or a grabbing a quick dinner in a pinch.

Yelp
I had just been to the Newton location and wasn't impressed with fry small ribs., I decided to try the a dedham location to compare same 2 ribs... I ordered 3 ribs. 3.00 each same as Newton. This location much nicer, larger location with plenty seating. These 3 ribs were actually looked to be 4 as she was smart to give small one included rather than charging for the small one. These ribs were nice and moist and were decent... but 9 bucks ? Different sauce containers here She did ask if having there and were not packaged unnecessarily for to go.

Brendan M.

Yelp
I've been going to Blue Ribbon BBQ for 20+ yrs in West Newton first and Dedham more recently. I've always enjoyed the food and the staff have always been great. Tonight I encountered a staff member who was so rude & sneering that I left without placing an order Too bad

Armin K.

Yelp
Service was good, but if a native Texan would eat here they would definitely think that Bostonian's aren't just bad drivers, but bad at BBQ too. Also, like the pickle decorations.
google avatar

JM L.

Yelp
Solid bbq option for this geography! I had the half rack of ribs (tender and moist) with mashed potatoes (buttery/addictive) and black eyed corn. The corn bread is ok, which was tasty but a little dry.
google avatar

Yelp
Since moving to Southern New England from Greater Atlanta, we found it hard to find a place that made decent barbecue...until now. The food was good and their side sauces, such as their Chipotle Mustard and their 'XXX hot' sauce were great, but the plating and presentation could have used some work. Yes, we know that BBQ is messy and so that should be overlooked, but since we are transplanted southerners, it's not...LOL. I had the Brisket Sandwich with beans and mashed potatoes while my husband had the 1/3 pound sweet and sticky ribs with cornbread, beans and coleslaw. Hope to try other delights soon!

Yelp
Ordered the 3 meat deal, got pulled pork, burnt ends and ribs also got rice and beans and kollard greens it was all good until my stomach started to blub blub. Now i have MASSIVE gas & diarrhea, not to mention i order 3 corn breads and only received 1, won't be coming here again i did give out 2 stars cuz the food did taste good till i got a case of the blub blubs

Reyes L.

Yelp
Made a delivery order with 3 meats (ribs, brisket, and jerk chicken). Also got corn bread, mash potato and potato salad. Potato salad was the start of the dish. Ribs good, jerk chicken good and the mash potato was great. Inconsistent with the brisket. Good bark, tender, but heavily salted. Some pieces were not edible. That was really the only issue with the plate.
google avatar

Yelp
I have heard over the years about how award-winning Blue Ribbon was, and was happy to learn this location delivered to us. The prices were right- $20 for a 3-meat, 2-side-plus-cornbread. The pulled chicken and pork were both moist, the ribs tender and topped with a tasty sauce, the potato salad nicely mustardy, the baked beans full of brisket flavor. On the downside, the green beans were obviously canned or frozen with a mushy texture, and my 'sweet' BBQ sauce had little sweetness and was more of a standard vinegary sauce (I much preferred their Gold sauce which was a mustard base). Plus the hot links were not very hot, the jerk chicken was dry and not quite 'jerk style' (not grilled- basically just chicken with some jerk rub on top), and the cornbread was fine but not memorable. Overall, I've had worse, but I've also had better, and I think it did generally meet my expectations for solid-but-not-amazing BBQ. That being said, I think Blue Ribbon can't hold a candle to Sweet Cheeks and Smoke Shop (those SC biscuits and farm salad, those SS chicken wings and butter cake, all of the meats and sauces at both, all unbelievably good), so make sure you adjust your expectations accordingly because you are just not going to be blown away here. But it'll do nicely in a pinch, as long as you choose your items wisely.

Yelp
There is definitely some inconsistencies between locations. I had catered food from the Newton location on Friday and it was so scrumptious that I went to Dedham on Saturday. Same business, it should be the same, right? Boy, was I wrong. From the watered down lemonade to the chunk of salt I got as I bit into my brisket to the plain vinegar in the Gold BBQ sauce. It was done! I am typically a pickle lover and loved the pickles from Friday's meal but the brine at the Dedham location was bitter! Bitter! I was done. It's hard to say if they were having an off day because so many things went so wrong. I'll go to the Newton location when I have another hankering for BBQ.

Rich C.

Yelp
First and foremost - if you are from the South, or somewhere in this country that has terrific BBQ; you're not going to be impressed with North East BBQ, and rightfully so. It would be like people from Massachusetts criticizing North Dakota on seafood; you need to temper your expectations - this isn't Texas, Missouri or North Carolina (all of BBQ which is out of this world). For Massachusetts, Blue Ribbon, is one of the best BBQ places you are going to find. They have a great side selection, and they are always consistent. For me, what separates them from getting 5 stars are their pricing, parking at the Dedham location and the customer service can be a little lacking at times.

Bob R.

Yelp
I would not buy there RIDs again very disappointed and there pulled pork are most full of fan

Yelp
Been going to Blue Ribbon for so many years, for a good reason. DELICIOUS. I've never been disappointed, at either their Arlington (still my favorite) or Dedham locations. This is my personal favorite local BBQ.

Yelp
I was working in Norwood and asked a co-worker for recommendations for lunch. This place was recommended so a couple of us decided to give it a try. We arrived and found the parking garage next door which was nice. Finding parking would have been a pain. We go in and my co-worker places an order and the bottle water he was given was warm. I go up to the counter and look to the upper left where the menu is located.. I look around and proceed to place my order while looking at the menu. The person behind the counter looks at me and stated "fix your mask before you place your order." Needless to say I was shocked. My mouth and nose were covered my mask slid down a little bit mouth and nose were still covered. You mean to tell me because I looked up to see your menu and my masked slid down from the top of my nose near the bridge to the middle of my nose is an issue? If it is that much of an issue, why was the girl behind the counter to the left wearing her mask with her entire nose exposed?! I was quite angry and decided to exit and co-worker cancelled their order as well. Learn to speak to people! I'll never go back to this place again.

Yelp
Ordered the Feed-A-Crowd Greensboro Brown Bag package with brisket and pulled pork, baked beans, rice and beans, which comes with their BBQ sauces, pickles, cornbread, and rolls for takeout. The meat was super tender and flavorful and I loved trying their different BBQ sauces with each item. Definitely a great spot for Southern barbecue.

Yelp
I'd be surprised if anyone in the Boston area doesn't already know about the best BBQ place in the Northeast. But just in case...you've got to check out these folks. Unbelievable smoked meats like brisket and ribs with a bunch of really incredible bbq sauces to try and homemade pickles. Then there are the sides...oh my god! I usually get the collard greens and mashed potatoes with gravy. And of course, there is a moist and delicious piece of corn bread with meals. The staff is also always so friendly and at the Dedham location the girls on the line are amazing, getting the orders ready quickly and with a smile. Thank you all for your great work throughout the years!

Russell H.

Yelp
This is my least favorite of the blue ribbon locations. The food is reliable and it is quick and easy to get in and out of. They have parking next door and more room inside than the other two locations.

Yelp
From Carolina and now live in Texas. The Carolina pulled pork is just like what I grew up with. Great vinegar flavor. The brisket is better than some I have had in Texas. Simple salt and pepper flavor with a great bark. Greens were fantastic and I could eat 20 pounds of the cornbread. Only issue is the sweet tea. It's lemonade and tea mixed together, they need to figure that out.

Yelp
This was my first takeout since the new lockdown times and it tasted so good. Just a burnt ends sandwich plate with cole slaw and potato salad for $12. All were really tasty and good for two meals, love their potato salad. The people working were really nice but it was bizarre and sad to walk into basically a closed up restaurant and be forced to think about the hard times the industry is going thru right now.

Renesha W.

Yelp
Greens were juicy seasoned spicy amazing goodness paired with that immaculate cornbread!! Next time I'll ask for extra juice! Jerk chicken with that sauce was beyond satiating and over the tasty brown rice. And to add praise to pleasure the peach cobbler with whip cream was the happiest ever ending.
google avatar

Ben N.

Yelp
We got two "platter" meals which come with your choice of two sides and cornbread. The sides were very good - some of the best baked beans I've ever had - and great cornbread and collard greens. The one half (jerk) chicken was tasty and not overdone on the spice. I was a bit disappointed with the burnt ends platter however. I don't know, maybe I don't know enough about burnt ends, but it seemed like too much sauce amidst the shredded beef and therefore a bit overpriced. The chicken platter however was well worth it and probably a five-star if the rating were based on it alone.

Yelp
This location opened about a year ago in the town center of Dedham. The restaurant offers plenty of on-street parking and two garages (free). Once you open the door to the restaurant, you're hit with the smokey and mouth watering smell of BBQ. The atmosphere is very casual. You place your order and seat yourself. The restaurant is spacious. Each table seats 6 people comfortably, and there were plenty. There are also smaller tables were smaller groups. I ordered the trio platter, which comes with 3 meats, 2 sides, and cornbread. I chose the brisket, burnt ends, and ribs with dirty rice and collard greens. You cannot finish this. The meats were packed high so.make sure you get a lid to take the food to go. The brisket was so flavorful and tender, and by far my favorite. My wife ordered the mash potatoes and they were AMAZING. Highly recommended if you're craving for BBQ.

Decent but nothing special. The brisket is way too smoky and not juicy enough. Ribs, pork, chicken are all average. Good for parties.

Yelp
One word: Gross! I ordered a burrito with brisket. I took 2 bites of one half and all I tasted was fat. I took one half of the burrito apart and 3/4 pieces of brisket were only fat. Seriously only fat-no meat! I took apart the other half of the burrito and it had 3 pieces of brisket and 2 we're lined with fat. It was disgusting. I'd have brought it to their attention but I did not want anything else to eat after that.

Yelp
Our favorite local BBQ place. Delicious food. I love their bbq chicken and my husband loves the pulled pork. Huge servings and an excellent selection of sides. Our favorite sides are the baked beans which are perfectly cooked with brisket/brown sugar/molasses and the green beans which are vinegary and have little bits of sausage. Tasty sweet cornbread comes with the platters but can be ordered as a side too. Also the hot bbq sauce is wonderful. Easy online ordering and pick up is always on time. And don't forget a slice of key lime pie for dessert! You won't regret it.

Yelp
We had Blue Ribbon cater a graduation party this weekend. Mish was a Goddess to work with, she was on point with her suggestions, answered emails at light speed and adapted things for us on the fly! The food arrived hot, there was plenty for our guests to choose from and most hit the buffet multiple times! Thank you so much for the delish food and amazing service! We will be doing this again!!!

Yelp
Depending on what you're looking for, this is a good option. We placed a takeout order to feed 13 people for around $280. The guy got defensive and testy when we inquired about whether we could order macaroni & cheese-- if customers want this menu item, then why not prep it in higher quantities to accommodate customer interest or just don't be awkward if someone inquires about its availability. Aside from that-- my guests enjoyed the food and the online ordering process was simple and easy. Overall, customer service is important to me. So, from that perspective, rude people are annoying to deal with and that takes away from the good in a customer's experience.

Yelp
We had the brisket and ribs, and a mixture of sides. All of the meat (and associated sauces) were delicious, but the sides were all a bit disappointing. Mac and cheese was a bit too liquidy, beans were quite bland, and corn bread was a little dry. Looking forward to coming back to try again though!

Yelp
3 MEAT COMBO PLATE The brisket, has good smoke flavor, slightly over cooked so its falling apart and doesn't have the bite from normal sliced brisket. Burnt ends looks shredded , but the flavor is on point very tasty Ribs have a beautiful smoke ring, tender to the bite, but doesnt fall off the bone, which is how ribs should be. coleslaw is crisp and delicious mashed potatoes are creamy and really good Cornbread was perfect

Yelp
I would've given this 4 stars but the brisket I got had some really delicious pieces and some super dry ones. The price is great for the amount of food you get!

Yelp
-overcooked ribs, dry and tasteless -baked beans were tart and mushy -pulled pork was flavorless Overall not worth the money, won't be back......

Yelp
I was really excited to try the Dedham location--I've gotten barbecue from their Arlington spot before and it was really good--but I must say that the Dedham location left me a little bit underwhelmed. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but it really wasn't anything special. Maybe it was an off night. I'd still recommend giving them a try; you'll definitely get decent barbecue at a price far below what you'll pay in Boston (my two-meat combo plate came in at just over $18.) I ordered a combo plate with pulled pork and pulled chicken (they were out of brisket due to an issue with their supplier, and I don't fault the restaurant for that, since the COVID-19 pandemic was wreaked havoc on supply chains). For my two sides, I got the baked beans and coleslaw, and the order came with a piece of cornbread. I started there, with the cornbread, and it was tasty. The bread was very buttery--I could taste the butter in each bite--and it was not very sweet at all, but had a good flavor. It was a nice way to start the meal. After polishing off the good-sized piece, I dove into the coleslaw, which was good. It was not overdressed, which I appreciated, and the dressing itself was nice and creamy. The flavor was good, but a bit different from other coleslaws I've had. It wasn't sweet or tangy, it lacked the "zip" of more memorable coleslaws I've had, but the flavor was pleasant. The beans were good, too, but nothing about them really jumped out at me. The sauce was nice and thick (I despise runny beans) and the flavor was definitely savory - not even a hint of sweetness. They were tasty enough, I just felt like they were lacking something--nothing really gave them any character. Good beans, but not great. OK, sides devoured, I dove into the meat. I was a bit disappointed by the pulled chicken, which was a bit dry and didn't have much flavor at all. I got two sauces on the side, the sweet and the gold, and I'm glad I did, because the chicken really needed a boost. Of the sauces, I preferred the sweet, although it didn't taste that sweet to me--more tangy than anything else. The gold was good, too, also quite tangy (which I'm guessing is from mustard that makes it gold?). They were a good complement to the chicken, but I would have preferred moister meat. The pulled pork was much better. The flavor was a lot more like barbecue. It had a rich, smokiness and a good mix of fat in with the meat to give it a nice, unctuousness that I enjoyed. The pulled pork was tender and tasty enough that it didn't need any sauce to improve it. The portion was great, too--lots of meat for not a lot of dough. All in all, this was above average barbecue (by New England standards, of course), but it definitely wasn't great. Go and give it a try if you're a barbecue fan. I'm definitely going to back and try the brisket when it's available, because that's the true metric of a barbecue joint's merit, in my opinion.

Yelp
KC style burnt ends should be cubed cuts, not shredded sloppy meat. Also, the brisket taken to go looks about the same. Instead of sliced brisket it looks like someone ripped shredded chunks off with their hands and packed them into a container. It was also dried out. They should be embarrassed.

Yelp
My coworkers and I loved our dishes. I agree not for picky eaters and I will say communicate with the staff if you have preferences, such as crispy burnt ends for example, I agree with another post in here about the burnt ends not really being burnt ends; my coworkers side order or burnt ends brisket was a tiny plastic container of very shredded beef and wasn't crispy at all. But that's her issue, my order of pulled pork was PERFECT. They don't soak the meats in bbq sauce ahead of time, so do remember to grab a small side of sauce as you wait. With that being said, the meat was super tenderized. A welcome addition to the area and I plan to be back soon!

Yelp
My husband and I went here a couple of weeks ago. We got burnt ends, brisket, ribs, potato salad, cole slaw and pecan pie. The food was fantastic. I was extremely tender, juicy and melt in your mouth good. I thought it was a little pricey but I will go back. The food is that good.

Yelp
My Sister was craving barbecue this evening for dinner. She said blue ribbon catered a work party and the corn bread was delicious and the ribs are good. So the me her husband 2yr old son visited the Dedham, MA location. We ordered a rack of ribs brisket half barbecue chicken and baked beans & string beans as sides with dinner rolls. We ate at the resturant and we all had the fresh lemonade it was very good. The beans tasty and the green beans also good, loved the ribs and brisket was good! I wish they served the corn bread heated up though it was just warm should have been hot, but it was very good corn bread. Only thing that was wrong was we found out after eating our food we didn't receive the our barbecue chicken we ordered. So didn't get to try it. I will come back though for another round. The services was good the staff was friendly and accommodating. Oh almost forgot we had dessert the pecan pie & the key lime pie which was very good
