Where to Eat and Drink in Sebastopol

"Some of the most delicious fried chicken in the Bay Area can be found here. Chef Matthew D’Ambrosi says it took him 287 batches to perfect the batter, and its deep golden hue is like a cross between tempura and a beer-battered fish fillet. The batter is crunchy, savory, and light with caramelized notes reminiscent of a perfect apple fritter. And the meat is tender and juicy, even without the spicy beurre blanc that comes on the side. The chef brings the same level of intensity to the rest of the menu, but especially his cioppino, hardwood smoked prime rib, shrimp and grits, and burger." - Paolo Bicchieri, Maria C. Hunt

Disclaimer: review based off delivery order. Everything came hot and the order arrived within 15 minutes of placing order (we live very close). Ordered the smash burger, fried chicken, crispy Brussels sprouts and garlic fries. Fried chicken comes with 3 small pieces which are essentially just crispy breading with very small amount of dry chicken on the bone. Burger was cooked well but toppings were very soggy, nothing special about the flavor. Brussel sprouts are usually our favorite, I liked the way these were cut into small pieces to get a good crisp on them but really disliked the potent citrus flavor. Have not ever had them served like that. Collard greens and potatoes were bland. Can’t go wrong with garlic truffle fries but given the fairly small menu, not sure if they are good enough to warrant trying this place again anytime soon. We gave the service and atmosphere 5 stars based on other reviews. Will update if we ever decide to dine in in the future.

Google
Awesome spot to grab a bite, probably one of my top 5 burgers in Sonoma county, fries are also great. The staff were friendly and helpful (when they tell you you can share a serving of fries listen lol) all in all we will be back to try more.

Burstock

Google
Pleasant brunch location in trendy 'The Barlow' area. Full of light with different seating areas. The smoked bacon Benedict was perfectly cooked on a slice of sourdough and very tasty, if a little under seasoned. The shrimp Louie was a bit disappointing, the fresh salad greens turned out to be sliced iceberg, and the dressing was a little watery, but tasted good enough. Service was pleasant and not rushed. Would go back if in the area

Finally got to try this place, and my god, it was worth the wait! The outdoor seating is comfortable and spacious. The inside looks to be the same. The mixed drinks are all tasty and extremely well made. The food? The food!!! This is a word that I very rarely use, but the food was truly exquisite. Bursting with layers of sophisticated flavors and textures, everything is brilliantly made and thoughtfully prepared. The sesame chicharrone (sp?) served with the sushi is an inspired touch, and adds SO MUCH to an already fantastic appetizer. Our main courses followed suit, bending our brains to the point of breaking! An overload of savory sensations. Last but definitely not least, I cannot say enough about how incredible Lani was. Attentive, thoughtful, and predicted our needs perfectly. She’s a diamond! Cannot wait to come back for more.

Google
Just absolutely an amazing experience, from the friendly and helpful staff to the great cooks and support personnel making sure that they're amazing dishes are very much so consistent and tasty. We were lucky to come across this place as we were attending a wedding and they had their dinner here, I was expecting some middle of the road bar food at this establishment but I was completely wrong. They are Cajun pasta is truly a can't miss dish. The care and attention that they place with making that dish so delicious in balance in each and every bite is a work of art. Now don't think that this is only a good restaurant it is much more as they have a great bar that comes up with some of the best craft cocktails that you will ever experience. The drinks that we had were amazing and the things that they did with herbal along with different flavors really set things off nicely along with a presentation that is top notch. I wish I can tell you a negative about this restaurant for you to be aware of, but I don't have anything negative to offer so please enjoy this restaurant in all of its food and beverage glory and let me know how was your experience. This is a truly must enjoy restaurant with big portions and fair pricing, something you just don't get a lot of these days.

First time dining experience. Thought I’d love it but was disappointed in food taste. Ordered off specials menu. Tried bbq chicken sandwich which came with a macaroni salad and a burger with fries. My chicken had a bit of fat or some slimy parts and hoped it may have been a bit pounded and trimmed to be more even in thickness for ease of eating. Turned into a bit of challenge to eat and messy with ingredients sliding around and out of bun when eating. Bbq sauce wasn’t a great flavor for me. The macaroni salad was really nice looking and had a good flavor but the texture of the pasta was odd. I let other person try it and agreed it was too thick and chewy so I couldn’t eat it. The waitress didn’t even notice. Thankfully there were enough fries with burger and I was able to eat some of those. Buns were more delicate and light, would have enjoyed a bun that held the ingredients together while eating but know each restaurant wants to be unique. Buns were a bit too toasty as you can see from pictures. Heard chef wasn’t there at time of visit.

I had an amazing mother's day lunch at this location. The service was splendid. My cocktail, peach fuzz had a perfect aftertaste. The peach burrata was yum. We ordered another plate as it was so fresh and delicious. I had their catch of the day which was a sole fillet. We also had a meat burger and a dragon fruit lemonade which were all delicious. Overall a great day out to have lunch at this beautiful location with yummy food.

Google
Truly elegant & delectable food. Beautiful & Airy Atmosphere. The space is very cool. From the Moroccan reminiscent tiles on the high walls, to the satisfying wooden tables and counters, to the decorative but also functional pots hanging in the kitchen, this place is a breath of fresh air wrapped in a hip vibe. The food is not only beautiful, but sophisticatedly scrumptious. Our very friendly and relatable server, Alex, did us a big favor when he said "Cheat code: the creme brulee is phenomenal." I ordered it, and after the delight of breaking the caramelized cap, and putting the first bite into my mouth, I exclaimed "Good Lord, that's good!" Was it ever! And my pal's Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich was grubbin' as well. I loved the Mushroom Rigatoni I ordered, and thoroughly enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts appetizer. The pomegranate sauce was a perfect sweet counterbalance to the salt in the dish. I highly recommend this place. The only downside is that it is so good, and surrounded by other great venues at the Barlow, that parking is tricky. Still, it's good to have a reward as wonderful as Blue Ridge Kitchen, for overcoming the challenge of parking. Everything was so fresh and fun. This is truly civilized dining at its best!

Yelp
Great experience with great food. I ordered off their Happy Hour menu which is only available Sunday to Friday between 3-6 PM I believe. Restaurant was fairly empty and we were seated immediately. The server was helpful in clarifying that the happy hour menu was only available at the bar and helped get us seated. The food came quickly and the truffle fries were great. It was crispy, not too salty, and the white sauce was a very nice sweet and savory mix. Meanwhile the fried chicken sandwich was amazing. It was probably one of the best I've had. The fried chicken was very crispy while being moist on the inside. The sauce was delicious and worked very well with the crispy chicken. They were generous with the sauce too as it dripped out of the sandwich. Definitely get ready for a little mess.

Yelp
Came to the blue ridge kitchen for happy hour with my husband and baby. We were the only customers other than one lady at the bar and they would not serve us happy hour unless we sat at the bar or lounge. It just baffles me. This place holds probably over 150 people and we were the only customers. So we rolled over our stroller and brought our water cups over to the lounge which was 10 ft away so we can have happy hour. I get it if the place is filling up and they want to prioritize customers who are getting a full meal but we were basically the only ones there. The gesture just showed the lack of customer service. As a first time mom, I'm definitely more grateful for establishments that are family friendly and considerate of parents just trying to survive. I think that's why it bothered me so much. Otherwise, the food was tasty. Would i go back? Probably not.

Yelp
Based on other Yelp reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We called ahead to ensure there was not a long wait since we had a large group. They were accommodating and seated us right away. The atmosphere and decor inside was nice, sort of designed like a warehouse ceiling so it can get loud when place is full. They had a live band when we dining there on a Saturday night. The service was decent, server was nice and attentive. The entrees had decent portions. We all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would recommend to give this place a try if you are in the area.

Yelp
A birthday night! Another delicious visit to Blue Ridge Kitchen! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and a cozy ambiance that perfectly captures the rustic decor and autumn charm of the season. A huge shoutout to Cindy for her outstanding service! She made us feel right at home and was attentive without being intrusive - the kind of service that makes your experience all the more enjoyable. We indulged in the, truffle fries--crispy, perfectly seasoned, and the truffle oil made them divine,Matt's smoked Gouda smash burgers, which were a flavor explosion - juicy, cheesy, and cooked to perfection. We also tried the special beet salad, which was not only delicious but visually stunning as well. To compliment our dinner choices--we enjoyed a refreshing cucumber Gimlet cocktail, an espresso martini (a delightful twist on the classic), and a traditional martini. Blue Ridge Kitchen continues to impress with its incredible food, inviting atmosphere, and stellar service. One of our favs!

Yelp
Okay, the thing is, I enjoyed this dish for the most part. It was really tasty but it fell short in a few areas. The good: the breading was delicious. Some of the best I've had. It was very crisp and had a very nice texture to it. It latched onto the chicken well enough to stay in tact after cutting away pieces of chicken or taking bites out of it. The sauce was tasty and not overdone. I actually expected a little more but I'm happy I got less instead of too much. The mashed potatoes were delicious. Creamy, flavorful but not too gummy or dense. Take bites of the chicken with the mashed potato on the fork with a bit of sauce for a treat. Now, the not so good: the chicken was dry. It was just flat out overcooked and everyone else that ordered it at our table agreed (we had 2 other orders besides mine). Also, the portion was kind of weak.. There really wasn't much chicken on those bones. The thigh was small and the drumstick was a skinny boy. You might look at that and say, well Mike, it doesn't look THAT small.. And to that, what would you say if I told you it was $34? That is a pretty ridiculous price for a few small pieces of fried chicken, some mash and some collards (not including the extra side of collard I ordered). The space is cool, the food was tasty. Service I'd give a 5/5, food a 4/5 but the value is in the toilet 2/5. Because value is so important to me, I have to drop this to a 3-star.

Yelp
What a phenomenal meal & excellent service. I loved the area it was in too. I had the pleasure of drinking a raspberry cosmopolitan with rosemary syrup that was incredible. The mushroom pasta was killer, smoked Gouda Mac cheese yep I was double pastaing it up. My husband had the pork belly & it looked amazing. 5 stars what a meal.

Yelp
Good service, high prices and touristy. Had a salty creamy pasta dish. However, I think that could be said for the whole area.

Yelp
Decided to come here for the first time on Valentines, our server was great, food came out fast and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Mac and cheese was average and could have been served hotter. The fried chicken was a 10/10, and is the crispiest chicken I have ever had. The burrata appetizer tasted like French toast for some reason and I don't plan on reordering if I go back. My cocktail was valentines themed and it was absolutely delicious, although when my boyfriend ordered one they had ran out of strawberry's. The smash burger was good, better than average but also not the best smash burger I've had. Burger came with no sides and for the prices of everything it should include a side. Overall food was good and tasted fresh. Highlight of the meal was the cocktail.

Yelp
If I hadn't ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta would have have been a four star review I suspect. Entrees were the main issue; two were excellent but the smoked beef pasta special was not good enough for my friend to ever order again and my Cajun Shrimp Pasta was destroyed by too much salt. I've been to New Orleans many times and salt is not the key flavor in Cajun cooking. There was also something way too crunchy in there that resembled shrimp shell but might have been nuts. The rock cod fish of the day and pork chop dishes our wives had were deemed very good which was a relief. Brussels sprouts appetizer and fries we ordered as an appetizer were also very good. No beer on tap? The Scrimshaw came in cans, but it was good nonetheless. Good service, decent value, creepy hallway to get to restrooms which at least clean once you got there. Won't be in a hurry to return. Avoid the pasta dishes. Would be nice to sit outside on a sunny afternoon.

Yelp
Wow what an exciting wedge salad served with a zippy blue cheese dressing and a surprising, very balanced huckleberry vinaigrette! Loved every bite! Our server Alyssa who is young and very beautiful hastily rushed us through our lunch. Slamming the silver cup with our bill onto the table while I was still eating. She never asked if we wanted anything else. Then she had the audacity to come back and try to grab the cup while I'm still eating. Again, she never asked if we needed anything else. Poor lil' Alyssa has no idea that I never give worse than a 5 star rating and am also a very respectful over tipper. Her loss. Blue Ridge Kitchen has other great servers here. I witnessed them and their mannerisms. We just drew the unlucky straw today with Alyssa.

Yelp
Nice little gem in the Barlow district of Sebastopol. Good drinks and great food. Had the shrimp sandwich and the fish and chips. Fish was catfish with a nice breading. Fish was nice and flaky. Shrimp sandwich had massive shrimp on it. Great stop for lunch.

Yelp
Could be great... but just good! Last Friday we had reservations to celebrate my birthday. We decided to sit inside because the sun was hitting hard! But we got seated at a window/garage door style spot right in the sun. The service was weird, borderline bad. They had multiple NA beers which when I ordered she said they may be out, but didn't come back till our app was served to let me know that they were out of all NA beers, about 10 mins in time. When you have 3 different NA beer options, to be out by 6pm on a Friday, that's a problem, so Arnold Palmer it was. The other negative was the pacing! We got our appetizer which was amazing (will go into more detail), but in less than 5 minutes we received both entrees! What the heck, cold appetizer warm entrees, half empty restaurant, why?! Last piece on service, I had an empty drink for probably 20 mins, and no ask if I wanted another, she even came and took my glass when I clearly had food left and nothing! Now that I write it service wasn't weird it was bad! They weren't even that busy! Okay so why 4-stars? The food was good! We started with the tuna tartare, it was amazing the sauces and avocado were great, and the rice chips were perfect. I ordered the steak that had an amazing sauce, I kept dumping my wife's fries in it and it was amazing! I do what I always do and ordered the steak medium rare to rare which I have learned always leans toward medium rare. My wife ordered the soft shell crab Blt which was great, but because of the timing she just ate the appetizer and not much of the entree. Worth another try, so as it teeters between 3 & 4 stars, we will see!

Yelp
Coming here from south Florida, I can say it was worth going to the restaurant. There were pros and cons to the visit. We went 2x . Once with the mother of a bride & family who was getting married that weekend. The bride & groom had dined there before. My food & cocktail was very good & my cookie at the end. 3 people on the other hand ( one being my husband, second & third were the mother of the bride & her family member ) had the worse experience with the pot pie. The manager (or chef) not sure who he was did acknowledge it and removed it from the menu. A few days later was my birthday. I decided I like the restaurant enough to eat here again. Didn't make a reservation at first because we weren't sure if a few friends were going to join us. We walk up to the hostess stand & one couple was clearly annoyed & left. The host smiled and asked us if we had a reservation. I said no & she said the there was a 30-45 min wait. The restaurant had over 12 different empty seatings available. So we stepped away, I went to the website and made a reservation for 10mins later( 6pm) . She almost ruined my birthday. They did this to another walk in. I told them to do the same thing. And they were seated 5 minutes later. Your restaurant almost lost business and in some cases did. My meal again was good and my husband's linguine and clams was though good was limited on the pasta. So my experience was bittersweet. The food was indeed good. But some of the choices from staff members both days almost ruined two important days. The layout of the space was cool.

Yelp
I hardly ever write reviews but after my meal here tonight I have to share my frustrations. This place is soooo expensive. I get it, everything today is costing more (and with tariffs on the horizon it looks like we are going to be fleeced out of even more of our hard earned money) but damn if I'm gonna pay $40 for a plate of fried chicken or $15 for a slice of desert cake literally the size of my finger without griping about it. The food wasn't even that good and the portions were small as hell. Wtf?!? This over priced gouging has to stop somewhere. Granted the places "vibe" was lively and fun, but there are dozens of other places in the area that knock the meals out of the park and aren't priced like the last Coca Cola in the desert. Just had to vent my frustrations at yet another restaurant trying to over charge for sub par food and lacking service that forgot about us half the time. A world class dining destination like Napa or SF doesn't charge this much for bbq. $38 for a sandwich cmon!!! Needless to say I will not return to this place, I can get better food, better environment, better service and an over all better experience at Sweet T's up in Healdsburg. Just my two cents. Good luck keeping this up in this current day and age... this place needs to adjust prices or will fail miserably charging $40 a plate for small portions and not that great food. It's tough out there for a restaurant but think about the poor saps paying this kind of money for meals that should be $25-$30 TOPS which is still too expensive. Greed kills

Yelp
Great table service and host! Lighting in the restaurant was perfect and not overwhelming. Something I would say about the Little Jen's Caesar W/ Chicken, far too much dressing on it which made it too rich and overwhelming. The linguini with clams had a bit too much oil, could not taste the wine reduction. Another comment I had, the Truffle Fries were $16, and the Smash Burger was $15. Very odd prices. However, Sydney our waitress was amazing, very friendly and attentive throughout the evening!

Yelp
Pretty good - a little heavy. I had the Cajun Chicken and my companion had the mussels. We had the Cajun bread as an appetizer- very good. She loved the mussels and I thought the chicken was a little saucy. It definitely was worth going to.

Yelp
First, I want to state that the service was good. I ordered the burger and standard side order of fries (fries dont come with the burger). They charge $11.00 for a SIDE OF FRIES. For this reason alone I will probably not go back just based on principle. As a consumer, I don't like being price gouged. The highlight of the burger was the freshness of the ingredients and the beef. Yet, for some reason, the whole burger had an overly sweet flavor profile. I ordered aioli on the side for my fries and noticed it was on the burger too. This was the sweetest aioli I have ever had, it was noticeably sweeter then the ketchup that came with the fries when tasted side by side. The burger already had sweet caramelized onions on it so i'm not sure why they have this really sweet aioli on there too. Because of this, the burger desperately needed some acidity to balance the sugar. I would give it two stars but I i did see some good looking food on other tables so I don't to be too quick to judge. My recommendation would be to make a new aioli without sugar (not a traditional ingredient in aioli) or add pickles of some kind

Yelp
Maaaaannnn i was so excited to eat here- it's Election Day and im definitely looking for comfort food. The fried chicken was heavily breaded and super dry It came with a tiny leg, a wing, and the toughest smallest thigh you ever did see. So lots of fried and not a lot of chicken. It was also pretty under salted :/ The mac n cheese was good once salt was added and I'm unsure of what the orange tub of sauce was. I will say the server and bartender were super sweet! It's a shame the food wasn't better.

Yelp
So sad what has become of this place I loved so much. They used to have Ironhorse sparkling and some very nice Pinots by the glass. The waiter said that one of the owners left and the new one isn't sure about what they are going to do with their wine or beer lists so now there are a couple icky wine options by the glass and not even a bottle list. The tuna tartare used to have chunks of avocado underneath with a large amount of tuna on top. This last time it was a guacamole with some weird flavor and the tuna didn't have any flavor but the weirdness of the guacamole. Saddest Mother's Day dinner in my life.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Friday night with the most picky and critical eater I've ever known: My 12 year old little sister. In honor of her birthday and our girl date, my review will be based off her feedback. We walked in with no reservations, they offered us indoor seating with a 45 minute wait or immediate seating outdoors. We opted for outside near a heater. All staff we encountered was very friendly and accommodating. To start we ordered a dragon fruit lemonade for her and a glass of Chardonnay for me. Lemonade was an 8.5/10, Chardonnay was a 10/10(obviously). Since our appetite wasn't that big we opted for small bites/appetizers. What we had: Gouda Mac & Cheese - Vanessa's rating: 8/10, My rating: 10/10. Super creamy and indulgent, shareable portion, comfort food galore. Cajun Fries: - Vanessa's rating: 8.5/10 My rating: 10/10. Crispy, well seasoned, more comfort galore. Burrata Peach Toast: This was my sister's first time trying burrata. (I lied to her and told it was cream cheese so she would try it.) Vanessa's rating: 9/10, My rating 10/10. Of everything ordered this was both of our favorites. The burrata and peach compliment each other beautifully. The sprouts had a lemony kick to it we both enjoyed. You can't go wrong with burrata and toast but this was some of my favorite I've had in a long time. Overall I'd give BRK a 10/10. Vanessa gave it a 8/10. We will be returning.

Yelp
We spent our 41st wedding anniversary together for dinner at Blue Ridge Kitchen. Dining is both inside and outside with plenty of tables to choose from. We opted for inside and were seated at a wall table with a comfortable bench style seat. Plenty of options for drink as they have a full bar. I opted for beer and my bride stayed with wine. We shared a Caesar salad to start. It was plenty big and came with several white anchovies. We love anchovies. I ordered the drunken fried chicken and my wife ordered the cioppino. The chicken was good but I should have opted for sauce on the side as it was swimming in the stuff and that took away from the crispy texture of the chicken. My wife enjoyed the cioppino and that in itself made me happy. The server and hostess missed on the anniversary. It was on the reservation and I mentioned it when we were seated. The restaurant was not busy and this should not have been overlooked or to of at least said happy anniversary. Good place in the wine country to visit for dinner. Could have been better.

Yelp
The food here is CHEF'S KISS. I've had the ahi tuna tartare, smash burger, smoked gouda mac and cheese, crispy brussel sprouts, burrata toast, and cajun shrimp pasta so far over the several occasions I've been here. All of these items were fantastic. This has quickly become one of the top restaurants that I crave. The service and drinks are excellent, and they have a beautiful open design with a lively atmosphere. I can't wait to try all of their other menu items. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
The Mrs. and I had lunch yesterday at Blue Ridge Kitchen while making our way to Guernville. We arrived around 1 and planned to sit on the patio, but the overcast skies and slight chilly breeze quickly made us change our mind. We were seated inside at a table near the bar which was perfect. The restaurant space can best be described as cavernous. The decor is very industrial but still creates a homey welcoming atmosphere. Christina, our server, arrived to take our order while we looked over the menu. I ordered the Laughing Monk West Coast IPA. The Mrs. ordered a Margarita. Both drinks were really good. From what I could tell all of Blue Ridge's beers are canned. None are on tap. For a starter, the Mrs. and I shared the Ahi Tuna Tartare. This dish came highly recommended by my fellow Yelpers and I can see why. Beautiful pieces of Ahi Tuna mingled with smashed avocado, Asian pare coulis, cucumber, daikon sprouts, crispy quinoa, and spicy aioli. Served with crispy rice chips. I don't think I can ever go back to eating Ahi Tuna anything without crispy rice chips. The flavors of the tartare mixed perfectly with the slight saltiness of the rich chips. And all the beautiful nooks and crannies provided the perfect vessel for moving the tartare to its final destination. For our main dish, the Mrs. and I shared the the Wood Grilled Portobello Muffaleta. A beautifully grilled Portobello mushroom topped with Pepper Jack cheese, crispy onion rings, sweet peppers, resting on a bed of lettuce and tomato served on a bun slathered with secret sauce. And if that wasn't good enough, it was served with a side of very addicting truffle fries. The Muffaleta was a light, but filling dish. The portion size is enough to be shared by two people. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu at the recommendation of Christina. It was really good. The service at Blue Ridge Kitchen was excellent. Starting from the hostess to the food runners. Parking wasn't an issue. We managed to find a spot in a small alley next to another restaurant. Being the the area if populated by breweries, restaurants, and boutique shops, I can imagine it's gets pretty busy on the weekends.

Yelp
I've tried this Barlow based restaurant a few times and - as an initial summary -- if you go, you'll enjoy decent food and have good service, but it doesn't quite hit the mark. And - I'll likely try again and order different items. Service was friendly and kind, and timely. We were seated in the dining room, where a large bar sits in the center of the room. For those that recall, is the old Zazu location pre--flood and pandemic. The interior remains about the same, open kitchen, bar, tables. The appetizer came moments after we ordered, fried brussels sprouts. Not terribly warm - wondering if they were for someone else or just prepped in anticipation? They were tasty, however and we enjoyed them. The wine list represents the area well, with generous by the glass selections. A definite positive. I chose a Mendocino Grenache and then a Sonoma Cab. I ordered "Matt's Smash Burger", which at about a $7 premium over the "Barlow Burger", adding fries (which I have had before) -- created an expectation that it would be larger, higher grade and -- actually be a smash burger. The photos illustrate the order -- not even close to what I know a smash burger to be, and having 2 at my table, feeling like a wasted $14. In fact bun to burger ratio was about 3-1. The size of the burger was probably 1/6 lb max. I actually reflect today and wonder if they just gave us the wrong item? The waffle fries, Cajun style, were decent and different. I would have preferred honestly a conventional French fry with some seasoning perhaps. A lot get lost in the pillowy nature of a waffle fry, for me. The Gouda mac and cheese was enjoyed, and came prepared in its own pot. All back to sum up: higher expectations than what was actually realized. Such incredible potential, good people perhaps make up the short comings of a disappointing meal. I almost want to go back and ask about the burger because - I just didn't get it at all, especially at a hefty $21.50.

Yelp
This place used to be great. Unfortunately, prices have gone up, portions have gone down. I ordered the Cioppino. I noticed maybe one small piece of fish, a couple pieces of shrimp and a few scattered mussels. The bowl was very shallow to make it look "big." In addition, there was a very large piece of garlic bread, trying to make it look like the dish is plentiful, I guess. For $36 it's not a good deal, and I left feeling hungry.

Yelp
Blue Ridge has some of the best food I've ever eaten in Sebastopol. It's our go too for birthdays and family nights out ! Really perfect for any occasion if you ask me ! Date nights, quick bites, drinks you name it ! They also make divine Burgers too and they aren't even a burger specific place!!! What's more ? It's extremely hard to find good southern-inspired food anywhere near Sebastopol and Blue Ridge does it ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY. Presentation is beautiful, the venue is really clean and elegant and the staff are really friendly too !!! In terms of food, my favorites are the Burgers, Fried Chicken, and the Ahi Tuna Tartare ! I just hope one of these days they add hush puppies to the menu!

Yelp
This is my second visit to Blue Ridge, still great! This time I opted the ciopinno and a nice chenin blanc. It twas marvelous. Always a great ambience and stellar food selection- definitely good eats.

Yelp
The SmashBurger was good (although they will not cook it to your request below Medium). The gouda shell Mac & Cheese, however, was divine! Service was friendly. Ambiance was casual but trendy. I loved the airy space and high ceilings. The industrial modern look matched the rest of The Barlow's aesthetic. The air smelled heavily of BBQ smoke, which was one downside, but you get used to it. The bathrooms are clean. They are located down a very long hallway in the back.

Yelp
Needed a last minute option, the staff greeted us 30 minutes before closing with no hesitation and service was excellent! The atmosphere was very nice, high end rustic vibes. Drink menu was extensive, and so many good options it made it hard to decide. To start we ordered off daily specials menu, muscles with a bacon cream sauce over noodles, it was phenomenal. Food was served quickly, and our party enjoyed the drunken chicken, cajan pasta, and Aji tuna. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was beyond exceptional and will definitely return in the future.

Yelp
Food was great, Atmosphere nice but the servers were awful. Inattentive, bizarre and borderline rude. Disappointing because the food was really good!

Yelp
If you do not like flavor to hit your tongue at full speed, then stay away!!! Every dish had so much flavor and was just absolutely delicious! I appreciated the effort of trying to keep the flies away with the little table fans, but it would be nice if they had those industrial fans at the doors to prevent the flies from getting in to begin with. Aside from that minor annoyance, I have nothing negative to say about the food! Service could have been slightly friendlier, but it seemed that the restaurant was maintaining the "record profits on Covid staff" mentality.

Yelp
Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere outside: 4 I've eaten here many times with various friends/family....even though a bit pricey, it used to be quite good. Dishes were flavorful and filling. The last few times, though, I've noticed a change in the preparation of some dishes. -- the once tasty Shrimp Louie is now a watered down version with a small portion of shrimp, very little "Louie extras" and all sitting on a mound of shredded head lettuce floating on watery dressing. The price does not reflect the mediocre dish. -- The Caesar Salad was presented nicely but the requested added chicken was very disappointing. We thought the pieces were cubed croutons. Barely a handful, dry and not worth the extra money. -- the Smash Burger was good and greasy...just know it does not come with anything. --the Fried Chicken was a bit dry but it wasn't greasy and had great coating. --the Fried Brussel Sprouts were tasty. Service was wonderful considering there was only one server and one bartender...what is management thinking? In my opinion, way expensive for not enough quality, quantity or oversight.

Yelp
This place was listed on Eater and it did not disappoint! We arrived on a Sunday around typical lunch time and were able to get seated without a reservation. Service was friendly from the hostess to our server and the space was new and large! Since the server saw that I was pregnant, she made sure to put in my order ahead of another big group which was incredibly thoughtful and kind! In addition to the regular menu, they also had the brunch menu you can choose from. Highly recommend! Recommend: Matt's Smash Burger Just ok: Lamb hash with beet hummus (brunch menu)

Yelp
The Prawn BLT is a winner. We came for the Jerk Chicken which was not available until it warms up. The BLT was an excellent substitute. The Garlic Fries were served hot, a criteria to a positive review. Cold fries suck!!! The atmosphere is glass & steel, a little chilly; but, should be nice when it warms up. Service was good, food came out timely. We'll be back as several menu items looked tasty. The aged Tomahawk Steak looked like it has potential for a Blue Ribbon.

Yelp
So disappointing - we really should have sent everything back. We started with the heirloom tomato salad and it wasn't remotely ripe. I ordered the Monday's special of the smoked prime rib, but it was covered in an abhorrent bbq sauce that destroyed the flavor of the very over-cooked meat. Unfortunately, the fried chicken was no better. The menu didn't mention it'd be all thighs and drowned in sauce. We decided against dessert and visited many other fun locations in the immediate area. PS: If the management reads this, I'd really appreciate a refund. Our server was amazing though. Also, highly recommend the mac-n-cheese.

Yelp
We are so glad we stopped by and had dinner here with our pup on Tuesday night. Warm weather outside made it great to sit outside with our dog and enjoy a delicious meal. We had the fried chicken and the burger and were so full after! The fried chicken could easily be shared by two people. Best part of the evening was Jenna, our wonderful waitress who was so friendly and helped us with all of our needs. Definitely will be stopping by again when we're in the area.

Yelp
Very much enjoy my time here every time I go. The Barlow is gem in general, and Blue Ridge is a great place to stop for a drink and some food. I've only had one meal over a dozen times easily, so this review is slightly limited. Great location, i've had a great experience with staff (easily over 12 times eating here) and the Drunken Fried Chicken keeps me coming back...literally...I continually come back for this delicious fried chicken with the Kentucky butter sauce...it's the real deal. Don't sleep on it! and if you do, cool, more for me =P

Yelp
Everything was wonderful! The Food was delicious! Our Service was on point! We felt very well taken care of. We also liked how there was a wide range of music. They were setting up for Karaoke night! We brought my Mom here for her Birthday Last night. She had eaten at Blue Ridge before and enjoyed her meal, but this time we ordered a wide variety and shared everything. She said it was the BEST Birthday Dinner! I am looking forward to going back for brunch one day soon.

Yelp
Solid selection of drinks, hearty food with a great staff and atmosphere. The food here is great! The portion sizes were killer and the flavor experience was fun. The brunch bites are a full meal! The selection of beers is worthy of a stop, but they've also pair that with a tasty selection of house made cocktails. The vibe in the dining hall was great with the open concept bar and kitchen exposed to visitors.

Yelp
Do not sit outside because there will be flies swarming around you and your food nonstop. It is very disgusting and ruined our dining experience. Other than that, we enjoyed the service and food although the dishes were pricey. Service: 10/10. Our waitress was friendly, quick, and recommended dishes for us to try. Food: 9/10. Burrata - 8/10. Unique in its taste and presentation but it tasted pretty good. Burrata had to be enjoyed with the bread or else, it was just way too sweet probably because of the grapes + syrup. Nonetheless, it was a very tasty and flavorful dish. Ahi tuna poke - 8/10. The chips were already pretty tasty on their own. Poke was fresh and so was the avocado. But then again, the sauces were way too sweet and overwhelming. Cajun shrimp pasta - 10/10. Had a nice kick of spiciness to it but nothing too bad. Could be shared between 2 people which included generous and big serving of shrimps. The pasta absorbed the Cajun flavor very well, and the dish overall was tasty. We really enjoyed this one!

Yelp
Not quite sure why it's taken us so long to discover this restaurant. Our waiter Dante was fantastic. Everything we asked him was spot on. We had the best lunch. Started out with Brussel Sprouts with pomegranate drizzle. So tasty. Husband had the special crispy shrimp sandwich accompanied by their amazing macaroni salad. I had the Ahi Tuna Tartare. Compliments to the chef. She did a great job. Coffee was great too. Really, the most impressionable memory was our waiter. Top notch. oh and the music playing was so great. Loved this restaurant and can't wait to return.

Yelp
The area this restaurant is located in is perfect for walking around to shop and snack! It's a beautiful, trendy area. The restaurant has nice ambiance and our waitress was efficient and very friendly. We loved the food as well and all tried the fried chicken!

Yelp
This review is for the restaurants's reservation system because I did not get seated at my reservation time and ended up at a different establishment nearby. Overall, I am disappointed by the reservation system at BRK and how the restaurant is run. I understand that it is covid and everyone is doing their best AND this experience wasn't great. A couple days ahead of a planned trip to Sebastopol, I made reservations for BRK via OpenTable. I specified the day/time and desire for patio seating (covid is still very much a thing). We arranged our day trip to make the 6:30 reservation and purposefully arrived hungry. We arrived to the host and let them we had arrived for our reservation. They responded by saying that they had no outdoor seating available and that online reservations do not specifically reserve an outside table. Patrons must call to reserve the patio. This seems like a silly oversight and something that could be solved or at least communicated more effectively. The experience was frustrating and very disappointing. The host then said we could wait 40 minutes for an outdoor table, which was ridiculous. However, we asked that they keep us in the loop. Luckily, there was another restaurant/bar that was able to seat us and where were could enjoy delicious drinks/food. I wish I could say otherwise, but I can't speak to the food. However, I wanted to share the experience and disappointment. I hope OpenTable & BRK resolve this inconvenient problem soon.

Yelp
Always delicious and usually not too too busy. I keep returning for the Cajun pasta! The specialty cocktails are great.

Yelp
Blue Ridge Kitchen is located within the Barlow, a food and entertainment hub of sorts in Sebastopol. I think it's a great concept. Blue Ridge has several tables outdoors as well as indoors. The menu has a good variety of dishes, so there's something for everyone. I got the tomato melon gazpacho to start with the cajun shrimp pasta. Hubby got the smash burger. I also got the dragonfruit and thyme lemonade. I think the concepts of each dish is great. But all 3 things I got were too sweet or over-seasoned. The gazpacho was very sweet, so it was almost like a dessert rather than a refreshing appetizer. The cajun pasta was too salty (I think the pecorino and bacon were unnecessary). The lemonade was too sweet. Probably should've gotten some lighter dishes given it was a very warm day. Maybe we'll be back to try some other dishes when it's a cooler season.
