Google
Yelpers I randomly found this place while in Tampa doing my YouTube. An I must say the food was delicious. I got the fishermen's platter which was a little pricey but a great amount of food. Also tried the grouper sandwich which was reasonably priced. The service was quick and the people were very friendly. The only problem for me as a tourist is the location as it is not something I would have found if I did Yelp looking for sea food.

Google

Google
The place is pretty good. You can get fish to good (filleted and all). You can get cooked food to go or there are a few tables inside and outside to enjoy your meal. They really do give you your bang for your buck here. It's delicious

Amazing Fresh Seafood and Great Service! I had a fantastic experience at Blue Sea Seafood Market & Restaurant! The seafood was incredibly fresh, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor. The variety of options on the menu made it easy to find something delicious, and everything was seasoned just right. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making sure we had a great dining experience. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, and you could tell they take pride in both their food and service. If you’re a seafood lover, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I first tried to get something on the go. Not when everything is made fresh to order. Minimum 10 minutes. Second time I called ahead just 10 minutes before I got there and it was ready when I got there to take home (they have comfortable seating if you choose to stay) Family Fried Feast! Several different fish to choose from. We ordered Basa and Shrimp. It came with pretty good French fries, coleslaw. and, awesome hushpuppies, really. There was plenty of food for 4 to 6 people maybe more. Definitely a great bargain of quality seafood from nice people. 5 stars for a modest clean, friendly top quality, Family restaurant. I love it. You should try it.

Google
This place is one of the best seafood restaurants. The portion size is not bad for the price. Stop by and check it out for yourself. I recommend the shrimp and fish combo. Thank me later.

Google
Don't let the location of this diamond distract you!! This place offers you good ol' fashion fish fry! You pick your fresh seafood from shrimp to fish, and they cook it . Oh my goodness, this place is on my top 5 food list. However, i suggest taking it home or find a cozy spot at a park or dine in your vehicle.

Google
Ok. So entering here your 1st impression is. ................??? You'll quickly get past that tho because the food is delicious. We ordered the fried seafood platter, fried oyster dinner, and crab cakes. All really really good and totally reasonable prices. I definitely recommend.

Yelp
My go to is the fried grouper sandwich and the hush puppies! The food is good and the service is good.

Yelp
Yes I tried this seafood market slash restaurant. As you enter, it's set up like your typical seafood market. But when you see the menu you see a variety of food you can order. You can buy any fresh fish and either take home or have them to cook it. Prices are pretty reasonable for the top fish they have. I had the chicken fried rice, crispy onion rings and the famous grouper sandwich. Large sandwich with fries. And buddy it's a lot of fish on that sandwich. I think I had 3 pieces on my sandwich. The service was great but I think only a couple of people speak English bc they're Asian. Great customer service and always willing to help you make choices. Papa Chef

Yelp
I'm a mullet fish lover & hubby loves grouper. This place although in a sketchy neighborhood is a fish market with great selections & they also cook the item you selected. The fish or shrimp is always hot upon pickup & they don forget your condiments. Of tarter, hot sauce, cocktail & tartar sauce-they do forget napkins, so be sure to ask.

Yelp
I got a Whiting dinner minus fries n hush puppies. She forgot my coke slaw. They have fresh fish, yet they sell old filets. The breading was too much. Where is the coen meal batter? I tasted a piece in the car, they didn't even put a pinch of salt in the batter.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok so this place is in a very sketchy area. However, the food was delicious! The lady behind counter was nice. I just ordered take out. I don't recommend eating inside. It's a whole in the wall joint in a shady spot but will I go back...yup. :)

Yelp
This is a small place on Nebraska where fried seafood is sold, the best in the "hood". It is not an appealing ambiance but perfect for take-out. Parking is tight, but the food is hot and quick. It has a purpose for me. I come for the fried catfish, the fried rice and deviled crab. If you do not mind tilapia or swai then those are also ok. The rest of the fish I avoid. If you do not mind alot of breading (too much for me) then shrimp, clams and oysters are also tasty. Scallops are too small and chewy. The fried rice (I get the pork) is better than 90% of the chinese places. I get a large order everytime I come. I also enjoy the deviled crab with hot sauce. In the mood for some fried fish and fried rice? Then, come get you some.

Yelp
Being eating her for 26 years. I like how they fry there food not! a bunch of seasoning coated with corn meal which! I do enjoy with other southern sides collards, greens, yams ect but Not! Blues sea I only buy the *fish, clam trips, oysters and scallops* *lightly battered* I'm not sure what type of shrimp they use but they dnt hav much shrimp flavor vs other restaurants I've had

Yelp
The fish is crazy fresh and delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is attentive and they get your food out quickly. Awesome place for take out.

Yelp
I did take out. This place is a tiny hole it the wall but the food was great! (Little run down but I I shall return)

Yelp
Disappointed in the quality of fish received. I understood that it was a priced on the lower end. In my opinion, I'd rather pay a larger amount for better quality than just to give me anything. A family member ordered trout, I ordered grouper. These are two different types of fish, they looked exactly the same. This was my first visit and will be the last. Thanks for the experience, I guess.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok...I love me some deviled crabs but ya'll done took it to far by giving me burnt deviled crabs for the 3rd time.

Yelp
First time going to this place. There is plenty of parking spaces in front and on the side of the building. Covered outside seating. Not much to look at on the inside. Slightly dingy, but the warm friendly greeting as you walk in make up for the dinginess. There is a long fish counter with all kinds of fresh fish. Nice variety of fish items on the menu. Dinners, sandwiches and sides. I ordered the fried grouper dinner which came with fries and hush puppies. There were a lot of grouper pieces (see photo). Personally I prefer a more corn meal batter, yet these grouper pieces were good and flavorful. I liked the hush puppies a lot! Wish there were more than 3. I ordered a small size cole slaw. It was okay and I don't have much to complain about it. I was glad it wasn't sitting in a watery and runny liquid soup. The dressing held the slaw together well. It was okay too. I have a particular way I like cole slaw, but again no complaints with taste. Glad I didn't get a larger size. It was close to a sample size portion. My husband ordered the broiled grouper with vegetables (fresh broccoli and carrots) and rice. He also got a crab cake. He said the crab cake was very good. I think I forgot to take a photo of it. He enjoyed the grouper and the veggies were cooked the way he likes (soft). I was curious to know if the fried catfish would be cooked in a corn meal batter. I ordered a take out for our son at home. The fish had the same type of thin batter as the grouper (see photo). My son said the fish had a really good taste and like it. For all fish orders there was a lot of fish to eat. I did eat everything in my styrofoam container (wished it was served on a plate since we ate at the restaurant), so I guess I win the "happy plate club award"! (See photo) We will go back because the prices are very reasonable. So reasonable that the street people (solicitors) and surrounding residents come there. The restaurant workers greet them also with a friendly smile and a howdy to you! Seems like they called some by name. I guess they have their regulars. I gave it 4 stars only because the batter and slaw weren't my favorite way to make them. I still ate them because I was hungry when I arrived. There are plenty of reviews of very satisfied customers and most likely regulars too.

Yelp
When I tell you my first time ordering from here was awesome, believe that ish! Fresh seafood cleaned in front of you and fried to perfection! I will be back! They are definitely on my list of favorites.

Yelp
Fresh well served and always pleasant when I go !! She is fast and friendly and always meets your needs! Place is clean.

Yelp
Okay, Yelp for the win yet once again. In town to attend a picnic for families affected by Cancer at USF tomorrow. Staying in a hotel and my sister was craving a Grouper Sandwich. Now being from landlocked Kansas she doesn't get a good grouper sandwich very often. Pulled up my trusty Yelp app. Found a review for Blue Sea Fish Market, and its as only 1.8 miles away, so off we went. As others have stated don't let the outside deter you from walking in. In an older building that appears to need some repairs you will find some of the freshest, best tasting seafood available. You can either order from their deli case full of fresh fish/seafood, or they have a menu to order from. Of course Grouper sandwiches were ordered and teen had a shrimp dinner. Food comes in styrofoam containers (boo!) and is stuffed to the brim with food. The grouper sandwich had three, yes THREE, large pieces of fish, with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The shrimp were amazingly cooked, with just enough breading to have a bit of a crunch, but did not take away for the he incredibly fresh taste of the large shrimp. French fries could have been fried a couple of minutes longer, but we were so stuffed with the sandwich that we didn't much care. There are a few tables inside, and several more outside on the covered patio. Be prepared to wait in line if you come during a main meal hour. We arrived early and had a short wait, but as we were leaving people were waiting for tables and there was quite a line to order at the counter.

Yelp
My husband and I are visiting from out of state and wanted a great seafood place. Don't pass this up. It's a little hole in the wall 5 star place. There were lots of locals inside and the employees were extremely nice. The customer service was great. The food was delicious. The portions are massive so if you go with a platter, sharing is ideal. We will be back if we are in the Tampa area again.

Bailey A.

Yelp
We got fried grouper, hush puppies, fries, chicken nuggets and chicken fried rice across our meals. Hush puppies, fries and chicken nuggets seemed like they were probably frozen/bought from somewhere then fried here. Grouper was good, but a little heavy on the breading. Chicken fried rice was pretty good! There are a few tables inside and a few outside, but you can also carry out. Fairly quick service (we had about a 10 minute wait, but were there in the 2-3pm range). Lots of options for fish and very generous portions!

Yelp
Blue Sea Market is excellent. The food is a great value and it is cooked to order. You can get unique cuts of fish here that aren't normally seen in other storefronts and they'll fry it and put it in a sandwich. The odor on the approach from outside is truly offensive. Words cannot describe how offensive it is. I gag when I get out of my car, but I remind myself that I really want what's inside, so I persist. Step inside and the place is busy with other customers enduring the smell for the same reason. You aren't alone; other people know that this place is good. It still smells, but whatever, you'll be out of here with a perfect sandwich piled high with planks of golden fried fish in no time. Remember that this is a seafood market with a deep fryer, high turnover, and a sunbaked dumpster full of discarded fish bits in the back of the building radiating the neighborhood with the stench of dead fish. This is not the tiny, easily managed, regularly bleached counter at your local Publix. This is a serious operation. This is the Blue Sea Market. I would hate to live within a 1/4 mile of this place. I always get my order to go because it smells way too much like a seafood market for me to even consider enjoying my food there. Don't take your mother-in-law here to try to impress her. Take a girl here if you are too much of a coward to break up with her and you want her to break up with you. Don't come here if you are prone to fainting or have a weak constitution. That being said, I love it. It is delicious. It is real. It is good. Blue Sea Market, 10/10 A+ Will try again

Yelp
I was looking for a place that I hadn't tried for fried grouper. I looked at the reviews and thought that I'd try this place. It was about a 20 mile drive. I bought a couple grouper sandwiches, a couple deviled crab rolls, and onion rings. We also got the captains platter which had jumbo shrimp, clam strips, scallops, and fish, all fried. I should have taken heed with the awkward parking lot, and guy standing out front smoking marijuana. The deviled crab was ok, as was the fish. The scallops were like pencil erasers (size, and consistency), with way too much batter. The clams and shrimp were about same. The onion rings were soggy (we tried the in the car on the drive home). Service was ok, staff was friendly. I probably wouldn't return.

Yelp
The place defines "Mom n' Pop hole in the wall." A family-run fresh fish store that also serves food. Look beyond the unflattering lighting and reek of fresh fish, to the always friendly service and the most glorious grouper sandwich I've ever had. I've also had their fried oysters and mixed platter but I always come back to the grouper sandwich. Elsewhere, they give you a plank of fish between the bread. Here, the grouper is perfectly seasoned and battered and STACKED. Yes, there are layers of fish in the sandwich! They have to use rubber bands to keep the containers closed. Their fries are kind of soft (need to double fry them) so one star off.

Yelp
The best seafood in tampa Idc what anybody says Everything is good In this place I been getting my favorite for years now Shrimp and fries and they not cheap with the food 2 people eat 1 order Love this place going tomorrow

Lisa B.

Yelp
This is a small fresh seafood operation. The fish is cooked fresh and well seasoned. I tried the broiled catfish with vegetables. It was healthy and tasty. They also place daily specials on a small chalkboard on the counter. The drinks are self serve in cans or bottles in a refrigerator.

Yelp
This place is amazing. We ordered takeout fried fish meals. Portions are huge. Food was delicious. Homemade tarter sauce was very good. Affordable prices. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Excellent choices and the Grouper sandwich was fresh and outstanding! This place is off the beaten path and worth a visit if you are looking for good seafood.

Sally S.

Yelp
Well I just called inquiring about a price on Octopus and was treated very rudely. The man was saying they don't carry it etc even though it is clearly listed on their website. I don't appreciate being talk down to and if you weren't so rude I wouldn't have taken the time to write this. If you were just simply out or didn't carry it terrible way to treat potential customers over the phone.
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
Reasonable price, big portions, quick service, and some of the best fish I've had in Florida. Ambience wise, it's honestly in a bit of a ghetto area, and the inside smiles like fish (what do you expect, they sell fresh fish) but neither would hinder me from returning in the future.
google avatar

Jill L.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Blue Sea Fish Market. I haven't had grouper in many years so I was looking forward to trying it at Blue Sea. Saw a review here on Yelp so I was excited to try. The grouper was delicious. It was probably the best grouper sandwich I have ever had. I highly recommend Blue Sea Fish Market.
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
My "go-to" for seafood. I usually get grouper, flounder, canned crab, and shrimp. There's quite a bit more selection though. Their prepared meals are good as well. So much food, they put rubber bands on the containers to keep them closed. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Bonus: watching the trucks pulling boats in alley dropping off coolers of FRESH fish.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
I am hesitant to give away my "go to" for sea food and specialties neighborhood grocery away, but it is my motto, "If it's good enough for me, it's good enough to share". This is where I treat myself to a deviled crab, or two. They cook them when ordered, so you get them nice and hot. They are a good size and a great value for only $1.75! I've also had their grouper sandwich, which is good, but I wish there was the option to have it broiled or baked, not just fried. The staff has always been friendly and I'm looking forward to my next treat of deviled crab (or two).
google avatar

Yelp
Local Fried Grouper Sandwich with Cole Slaw - Excellent Enough in one order to feed two small appetites or one big one. Selection of fresh local fish for take home. Squeeze in parking, but we'll worth the trip and price.
google avatar

Yelp
I've lived in Tampa for 6 months and have yet to find a fish market to compare in pricing to this place. You really can't beat the amount of food you get for the price! (Speaking on cooked food as I haven't bought any fresh fish YET). Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Also, be mindful that they have FRESH fish so there's definitely a strong odor when you walk in. They have an outside area where I usually wait for my food as they cook it as soon as you order. The portions are huge for the prices! I'm working my way through the different options but I'd definitely recommend the fried shrimp (has just enough batter and was fried perfectly), catfish bites (again has just enough batter, is flaky, and delicious), or the broiled grouper (they give you the entire fish head included seasoned and cooked to perfection). The staff is always friendly and my food is always hot and tasty! Definitely a Seminole Heights gem and worth the drive if you live further.

Yelp
The seafood is fresh here. There are plenty of traffic and people visited this place. We were there 7:30 pm and it was pack. There are many people call in. The phone ring is almost not off the hook. Good thing they have parking around the building. Tables and chairs are provided inside and court yard. There is heavy seafood smell in the building. If you don't like the smell, you can sit outside. The seafood here is good price. Catfish or Basa fillet are $4.99 a lbs. they also offer fried seafood platter. We ordered the seafood platter include shrimp, scallops and clam. It is good deal with the entire box fill up till it hard to close the lid. The platter also includes fries and hush puppies. The seafood was fried with batter coating. For my experience, the coating is too thick and no added spice. It is kind of plain. You will need drink to go with the seafood. The positive of the platter is the shrimps are in good size. This is a local favorite and many has visit. The food come out quick.
google avatar

Timothy M H.

Yelp
Ordered a fish sandwich and order of shrimp. Food was freshly cooked and hot but so over breaded the coating overpowered the seafood. It's a local fish market that fries fish too. Located in the hood. Before you can get into the store I was accosted by a toothless pregnant lady who must live in an upstairs apartment asking for money. The same on the way out to car.

Nakia W.

Yelp
Food is always fresh, hot and on point. For this place to be a fish market they have a lot of selections and a full menu. You won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Short: Small parking lot and busy. Food is good and cheap. Might look a little run down but don't let that scare you away. Long: Small shop, looks slightly run down, parking can be an issue. This is because they are always busy. I see people in and out of here all the time. All the seafood seems fresh, you can purchase fish here and they will scale it for you. Many different types of fish and seafood for decent price. I haven't tried it yet but will one day. They also have cooked food here. The portions are large and price is cheap. The fish sandwiches are good. I'm still working my way through to see which one I prefer. You can expect them all to be fried perfectly with the fish still moist while the outside is crispy. Staff are all friendly, did not feel pushed to order. Looks like they make their own sauces too. Honestly, I feel the tartar sauce could use a bit more pickles in it to get the dill flavor.

Yelp
I come here about once a year to get to-go food when I have a fried seafood hankering. As others have said, it is located on a pretty sketchy stretch of Nebraska Avenue, so use your common sense when you go. Inside, there are about eight tables to eat at, a few refrigerated cases showing all the fresh fish available, including specialty items like fish heads and grouper cheeks, and the order counter. There is also a smell inside; I'm sure with all the seafood they are dealing with it's inevitable, but I can only take it in small doses. I ordered a fried seafood platter. This particular platter came with fried shrimp, scallops, and clams, with sides of hushpuppies and fries. Make sure you ask for the cocktail and tartar sauce to go with it - they are really good. My favorite parts of the platter were the hushpuppies and shrimp. Clams were good but not much flavor, and the scallops were just eh. Portion size was HUGE, easily enough for three meals. I've heard that they will clean fish that you catch for a fee, so it's something to keep in mind if you hate that particular aspect of fishing. The atmosphere is pretty run down and dingy, so that, combined with the smell, is why I recommend you get your food to-go. However, the order taker was nice and efficient, food came out quickly, and it was still warm when I got home.
google avatar

Yelp
This place won't be for everyone because it's a hole-in-the-wall (said with live) seafood market with tables BUT if you enjoy fresh, quality, no-frills seafood cooked to perfection and served in styrofoam to-go boxes ... you owe it to yourself to check it out. Fifteen shrimp so fresh and perfectly breaded and fried that I forced myself to eat them all. I will be back!! Many times.

Yelp
This spot is delicious fresh place to eat for family and friends! The service is impeccable and so is the food! Great place to get your fried fish needs on!

Nya M.

Yelp
Customer service was good but the food has no seasoning or flavor what so ever. It taste plain and bland. Would not recommend if you like seasoning and flavor.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood fish-market in the Seminole heights area! Prices are decent but usually we come here for their fish sandwiches. They are only 3.99to 5.99 depending on what fish you select. They give you a nice portion of two filets and the fish is not dry as you sometimes get when you order a fish sandwich. It was filling enough for me to be satisfied but as always I could have eaten two if I wanted. As far as their fish selection they offer whole fish and filets. For example this day their salmon was 7.99 a lb, and usually I see it for 9.99 to 11.99. If seafood is your thing (crab legs etc...) , they offer that too. Pretty cheap priced /no frills place. Looking at the dinner plates others ordered they are not shy on their portions, so why not come and try it?

MikaisMe 8.

Yelp
Fish seemed over cooked or re-dipped, not a fan of that. I got the Captains platter which is big enough to share. The scallops, shrimp and clams were very good and that's some of the best house Sauce, I've ever had.

Big M.

Yelp
Always on point when I order, I recommend call your order in, and I like all my fish fried hard the first time! At Blue Seafood, they'll fry it up however you like.

Lee H.

Yelp
Always clean, dinners and sandwiches are outstanding. Store does not look like much, but great service and seafood!
google avatar

Jeanne Y.

Yelp
I got fried oysters and they were huge! Definitely got my money's worth and officially my go to. It does take a while but that's because they fry it as soon as you order. We ate outside at the tables they have because I couldn't handle the smell inside. I actually got two meals out of it because I couldn't finish it on the first try.

Hobbs G.

Yelp
Really great food and awesome prices! Got the fried grouper and some onion rings, came out fresh and the portions were huge. Definitely going to be coming back to this place!
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Man we've been sleeping on this place. Love 8 blocks away for 6 years, drive by all the time and finally decided to try it and DAMN!! So fresh, perfectly fired, not greasy at all. Got the clams fried dinner which was HUGE, as was the fried shrimp dinner. Will definitely return.

Yelp
I was in the area after going to Busch Gardens. My son and I were hungry for some fish and looked up restaurants nearby and found this place with decent reviews. I parked and placed an order over the phone. I waited 20 mins until I went inside. I knew something wasn't right by the smell that hit me when I walked in. It was a very strong fish smell. Not fresh fish smell but an offensive fish odor. I should have walked out then. I approached the counter and gave my name for the order and the cashier was very condescending and sarcastic when I asked her questions about what form of payment they accept. I'm new to your establishment and you treat me like I'm dump for asking a valid question. "Do you accept Apple Pay?" I paid and took my food. I ordered two fried whiting dinners. Not sure if it was due to the restaurant closing soon but the website said that they cook to order. My fries were old and soggy. My whiting honestly tasted like they tried to clean it with chemicals (Maybe they bleached the fish because it was old and then they fried it, just my assumption because it wasn't fresh at all and the taste wasn't normal. Even the texture of the fish was questionable.) I would hate to think someone would chemically treat food to avoid throwing it away and then have the nerve to serve it to someone. My son and I love fish and we took a few bites and couldn't eat the meal. It's so sad. Don't be in business if you can't give fresh food. I will never go back.

Yelp
If you want fresh seafood this is the place. You can buy fresh seafood to take home an cook or you can order something to eat. I had the grouper dinner It was good an my girlfriend ordered the clam strips. All of that was great. We ordered take out. Food came out 15 min after I ordered it. I recommend trying the place out. Nice friendly people we are going again
