I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I was quite upset leaving the restaurant. First, the positive, the food we ordered was good and plentiful. The clear soup was hot; the sushi was fresh; and my veggie dish was very tasty and crunchy.
Second, the service was impersonal and rather robotic; however, that was not the issue. What embarrassed me occurred when the server rushed out of the restaurant to tell me I didn't leave a tip when, in fact, I left a cash tip of a little more than 20 percent of the total bill, which I think was generous given the basic service I received. I have never had this happen to me. To add to it, I was already getting into my car as the server yelled to me from close to the building so others could hear. I explained that I left a cash tip, and the other server picked up the bill. The server ran into the building after I explained what happened. I didn't know what to do, so I waited to see if he would return. He did return and gave a thumbs up. He never came to the car to apologize. I called the restaurant when I got home. I asked for the owner, but I'm not sure I even spoke to the owner since the person stated he would tell the owner what had happened. I know we are entering the busy season; the servers will be very busy. I was not happy with how I was treated; I will not return.
