The Lion King (in back on the photo) and the Tataki Maki were the best rolls I’ve ever had in my life! The King had an eel sauce with chili that paired perfectly with the Japanese booze drink I ordered. I also ordered the Tataki roll as a variant that included an eel sauce, a different seafood and the perfect amount of panko crunch. The service was phenomenal and the ambiance was perfect for a busy place. Love the comical Japanese effigies in the back dining room. Baby’s got Feng shui up in Lexington. MOST IMPORTANTLY….I enjoyed myself here.

Blue Sushi Saki Grill is conveniently located in the Summit at Fritz Farm area, which features a variety of restaurants, shops, and businesses. While I was looking for a place to eat, I felt like having sushi. Happy hour runs from 2 to 6 PM, which is a nice bonus. I decided to sit at the bar, and fortunately, the restaurant was not too busy during my visit. There were two rolls that piqued my interest, but when I mentioned my food allergy, the bartender recommended against one of them for safety reasons. Although I was a bit disappointed, I appreciated the bartender's help in selecting another roll. I ended up ordering two Lion King rolls along with a hibiscus squeeze lemonade. The rolls were delicious, and I really enjoyed my drink. Overall, I had a great dining experience.

Stopped for dinner passing through town. This was my first experience with vegan options at a sushi restaurant. Vegan cream cheese on sushi was wonderful. We had the South Pacific vegan roll, Snow White and Vegan hot popper. They were all wonderful. The coconut crab soup was amazing too. The only downside is that they are six hours from my house.

Ordered takeout. The sushi was good, but the edamame was completely burnt. They tasted like cigarette buds. Really bummed their kitchen did not catch this before sending it out. I hope this doesn’t happen to others!

Google
The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and the food is delicious. For guests who prefer not to eat raw ingredients, there are thoughtfully prepared fully-cooked sushi roll options, which are not only considerate but also very tasty. The service staff seemed a bit busy, so it took a moment to get their attention, but they were very polite and accommodating. I had a sudden craving for plain rice, so I asked if they could bring me some. I later realized they don’t usually fulfill this type of request because they brought me a bowl of sushi rice🤣🤣

Wednesday night we sat down at 9:03pm and they close at 10pm so we sat at the bar where we knew we could be in and out quick without messing up a section for a server. The bartender was so beyond rude and horrible at customer service it was quite embarrassing. She had everything packed up already and didnt want to serve us, cucumbers go in water, yes! But not on her shift cause she already packed them up, the place was almost empty and she was rushing to get out when its not even 9:10 yet. There was a manager on staff, (we thing thats who it was) although acted and appeared nothing of the sort to be the only one who checked on us when our food was delivered, everyone brought the food out to us except the bartender who was waiting on us and she never came to even check to see how our food was. $160 bill for two people, we go all out and eat a ton everywhere we go! Such a horrible experience, and this is my favorite place to dine. Won't be back. Closing a section early is one thing but to close the bar down an hour before closing is insane. She had a horrible attitude. There are many people who would love a job here, hope this is dealt with so we can come back! More than happy to provide the name as well of who she was

I was very impressed with everything. It's definitely worth going. The prices are very reasonable as well.

Yelp
Service was amazing. Our servers were so nice and refilled our drinks every time they were empty, the day we went the roads were really bad with snow and we ordered something to go and they drew a little snow man and a thank you on the bag.The food was amazing as well, highly recommend the Hawaiian roll.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! We found it while looking for vegan food in Central Kentucky. Loved it so much we went twice in one day, once for lunch and once for dinner. I don't think I've ever had anything that could truly be called vegan sushi, but the menu here provided ample and numerous choices. We tried several and everything was absolutely incredible! The menu itself is quite extensive, so there are tons of options for vegans and non-vegans alike. They have a plant-based tuna, eel, and a variety of unique ingredients to add to their sushi rolls. The experience is literally unmatched! In addition, all of the staff members are friendly and happy, including the manager who stopped by our table and then recognized us when we came back for dinner! And on top of all of that, the prices are super reasonable! Atmosphere is pleasant, not too loud, and very comfortable. Several guests were dressed up because it's appropriate for a nice evening out. We will definitely be returning the next time we're in the area, and we are hoping they will open a franchise in our area.

Yelp
I went to this amazing restaurant tonight, my friend and I had such a great experience. Emily was our server, she was so kind and very knowledgeable on the menu and helped my friend find delicious gluten free options. I had the Amazon roll and my friend had the beach roll (GF), we also sampled the ceviche (GF) and yellow tail Serrano sashimi (GF), it was all fantastic.

Yelp
I had the opportunity to visit last year, and it has been on my mind ever since. I know I'm not the only one to crave sushi and tbh nothing was satisfying that at my local sushi spot. We had to return twice during our visit to Versailles due to our fondness. The charred spicy edamame is a must. The service was commendable and the ambiance was exceptional.

Yelp
Best sushi in the area. In The Summit at Fritz Farm, an upscale shopping and dining area. Great ambiance with plenty of indoor and outdoor dining. Vast menu for any and every palate. None of the cream cheese crap and cat food sushi you get at a hibachi/sushi combo restaurant. We eat here frequently and are never disappointed with food, wine, nor service - all five stars. Chicken lettuce wraps are a must have for appetizer, though they also have a tofu option. Lion King roll is my favorite. If you like sushi, Blue is a must!
google avatar

Yelp
My go-to place to eat! I absolutely love Blue Sushi! I switched up my typical order and tried out the Thriller, Spicy Gringo, house salad with carrot ginger dressing, and Crispy rice cakes! Everything was spectacular! The spicy gringo definitely packs a punch so if you are sensitive to spice be prepared. The crispy rice cakes were so perfect I will definitely add this to my favorites list from them! Thriller roll is my favorite roll on the menu by far! We sat on the patio since the weather is warming up! Our server Maggileigh was great! I just wish they played a different type of music, the type they play always makes me feel nervous and rushed hahah!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! We took advantage of happy hour and everything was very fairly priced. We came on a Sunday afternoon. We did have to wait for a table, but not very long. The restaurant was very trendy and the decor was tasteful. All of the food was very tasty and fresh. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Very good .. fresh sushi and presentation beautiful. Looks like little under staffed when I was there but waitress , host great and nice selection of cocktails ..

Yelp
My absolute favorite place for upscale sushi in Lexington! My friends and I love coming here for the modern takes on the rolls-- especially the vegan ones! The Thai hippie roll is one of the best vegetarian sushi rolls I've ever had, but their maki and others are great too! We love the Hawaiian roll for the mango sauce but you really can't go wrong with anything here. The cocktails are great and they have happy hour all day on Sundays. Their happy hour menu is just reduced price on a few rolls but its still a great selection and good price for the quality. The service is always great and the restaurant is always clean.

Yelp
I'm torn because the food was amazing, but the hostess (an older lady w short hair) was so rude that I was kind of thrown off from the start. She didn't greet us or talk at all when I asked her if we could have a table for 6, and gave us no children's menu. She stared at us rudely the entire time we were there it felt like. Jennifer (I believe her name was, a gorgeous server with two gold nose rings) was amazing and improved the overall experience.

Co M.

Yelp
The food is VERY mediocre. I wasn't thrilled about any of the four items I got. Thankfully it was happy hour so I didn't feel entirely scammed. The setting is okay but the lack of private booths was really annoying. Felt like I was sitting with two groups of random strangers. It was the service that really saved this place. JD, our waiter, I think caught on that I was having a bad time and brought us a free appetizer (also mediocre). He and the front of house staff were also just generally very pleasant!
google avatar

Josh W.

Yelp
First off. I have ate here more than once. 4/5 times I had an enjoyable experience. The last time however was terrible. The service was without a doubt one of my worst experiences in dining. I can overlook a ton of things but the one thing that I will not excuse is poor attitude. My family was let down and they do not want to evert go back and I likely will honor those wishes.
google avatar

Carolee L.

Yelp
Super fresh sushi. Menu organized by raw, cooked, vegetarian, etc. My husband prefers cooked, so it made it easy to choose. Most of the rolls were spicy, but staff gave great advice. I got the godzilla roll & picked the jalapeños off & it had a great kick. Hubby got the LA roll that was amazing. Sorry, I can't tenderness the 3rd roll, but it was flavorful as well. They serve cucumber water instead of your typical water with lemon. Great location at the Summit at Fritz farm. Will be back when we visit again

Yelp
I ordered a few sushi plates from this place, and my friend and I loved our uni--it was delicious. I would pay extra $$$ just for uni. I've been to the restaurant's location in Houston plenty of times. When I came here, I already knew what I wanted to order since it was the same menu as the Houston location, and the interior was similar to the Houston location. There are plenty of parking spots in the area, and they're free.

Yelp
I love sushi. Genuinely, I love raw fish on rice and need it all the time. At the same time, I like some variety. This is a solid sushi place, no doubt. The missing ingredient is the authenticity and the culture. Service is fine, they do a good job making you feel welcome. But for a truly 5 star experience, I need that true sushi bar experience.
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
I never thought I would have a margarita at a sushi restaurant but I did and it was super delicious We ordered several things and they were all really tasty "I'll be back "
google avatar

Yelp
Great variety and awesome happy hour specials on Sundays. The grilled octopus is super tender as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Blue Sushi is a modern establishment with not only sushi but a variety of dishes. It's good for a date, friend and family outing, and even for a larger group before a night out. It's not unusual to see a group of teenagers dressed up getting ready to leave for prom. My Japanese friend didn't necessarily think the sushi here is the most authentic. Yet they are still fun and delicious. I like the Shishito peppers (not hot) and Ceviche for the table and then individual maki for each person. I wish there were more options with eel, as that's a personal favorite. *Be sure to take advantage of the happy hours occurring daily!*
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
Love this place the food is excellent and the service is great! I really like the cleanliness and atmosphere. The vegan options are great and the staff were very knowledgeable and willing to check with the kitchen for the vegan people in our group.
google avatar

Jeanette C.

Yelp
The Blue Sushi Sake Grill is my husband's favorite sushi spot in Lexington. My husband ordered the Beach and the Godzilla Bomb on this visit. He ordered them for 3 reasons: spicy, raw, and no cucumbers. He said the sushi looked smaller, but stayed the same price. It's not necessarily a bad thing since the sushi rolls were too big before the change. The service was great. It's usually busy, but can br seated right away.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
They seem to put a lot of love in their sushi. It always looks amazing when they bring it out. The staff are helpful and polite. I've always had good service here. They have a good assortment to choose from. I've tried many rolls and individual sushi and sashimi. It's fresh and delicious. The surroundings are fun Japanese items and posters and advertisements. It's looks like a fun Japanese restaurant and not like it could be anything else or was ever anything else. I love the look.
google avatar

Vicky C.

Yelp
I usually go for there happy hour because I think they have great deals for sushi. Although I think there are better sushi restaurants in Lexington, they do have some unique rolls that I've never had anywhere else. It's very cute and beautiful inside and they have great service whenever I go. I love there Hawaiian roll!
google avatar

Stacy K.

Yelp
We haven't had sushi since we moved from south of Chicago so we were excited, it did not disappoint. Server was great, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We started with Crab Rangoon, it was very good just wish there was a little more filling. I have posted pictures of everything and the item on the menu. The Hotel Cali was my favorite.
google avatar

Jon H.

Yelp
The food is always good. They don't have the largest selection of maki which is usually all I order so I've narrowed down my favorites from here. I'm still trying new things occasionally but you can see I'm a creature of habit. The Hawaiian roll was my least favorite this go around as it had a fishy smell and taste but I think that's because it was deep fried. The nigiri my friend ordered and rated 7/10 overall. This visit was the first time I felt like my waitress was somewhat rude to me. She was short and snippy with my but maybe I just mistaken her personality. She has waited on me before and I don't recall having that same impression though. Great place for happy hour, a little pricey otherwise. Definitely recommend and will continue to come back.

Yelp
Food=excellent Service= 1st time (meh) 2nd time (excellent) Management=clueless First of all, why a kids meal at a sushi restaurant? We were with a friend and her son,who was only 14, so over 12, didn't eat. My wife eats very, very little and would have liked a bento box, but for some reason, management doesn't think adults order Bento boxes. If you think people are just being cheap because they want a kids portion, then I think you are losing money. My wife shared my meal with me, and the son went to Chick-fil-A. Two meals lost and two not so happy customers. But management knows best.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
Happy hour is the way to go! The sushi is a great deal, and the quality is spot on! They have drink and sushi specials, and it is a great opportunity to try new things for a little bit cheaper price!

Yelp
I thought this was a great sushi spot. Nice looking restaurant and trendy with outdoor seating as well. We had reservations at 7 but arrived early at 6:30 but had no problems being seated right away... and since it was a beautiful day, we sat outside. The outdoor seating area has some umbrellas and is dog friendly as one person had their dog with them. Our waitress was nice, attentive, and very helpful with the large menu. We ordered edamame, 4 rolls, and some nigiri (yellowtail and white tuna, I believe). Our waitress later gave us a plate of sashimi... I believe she said it was the truffle salmon. All of the food was fabulous. Usually when I get a few rolls, one always sticks out as my favorite but this time around, all 4 were equally as good to me. Unfortunately, I can't remember which ones we ordered. I also ordered 2 of the raspberry mojitos that were very tasty and refreshing on a nice sunny day. I will definitely be visiting this place again upon trips to Lexington (because I live in Louisville).
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
We are from 6+ hours out of town. Waiting for our pedicure appt a few feet down the sidewalk. I had been craving sushi and OMG... this place was outstanding. My husband and I were taken aback with the edamame. Who knew something so simple could be so delicious. I HAVE to try and recreate this. The perfect blend of spices. The hotel Cali roll was out of this world as well, lightly fried with the cream cheese and spicy crab - the jalapeño inside was still crunchy- amazing. And lastly the lettuce wraps were amazing. I'm obsessed with the cucumbers everything was amazing and well priced for the amazing quality. We will be back in December!
google avatar

Elaine D.

Yelp
Received a $10.00 coupon. Hadn't been in 3 years, so decided to go. New menu and higher prices. No lunch specials. Rolls were unappetizing and smaller than before. Disappointing all around. Won't return. Things change! 54

Pipina T.

Yelp
While visiting Lexington I stopped by because of the good reviews and ratings and this place was really bad. The sushi was terrible, not fresh and had no taste. I ended up ordering a bento box with chicken tenders and fries because all the other items we ordered were terrible. It's a shame but it's not worth spending money on a restaurant like this. You are better off buying sushi at any grocery store and eating it at home.
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Blue Sushi and left happy. They have a great variety of cooked and raw sushi and plenty of starters of all sizes. We started with a flight of sakes and the River Rock Beef, which are slices of raw beef layer across sizzling stones before being brought to the table. If you aren't a fan of VERY rare beef then skip this one. It was borderline for me but he flavor was amazing. The sake flights were a fun touch. We had the Cherry Bomb sashimi which had a spice kick but was tasty and a variety of maki. We were torn on which was the favorite but all agreed we'd skip the spicy tako (octopus) next time. Octopus is just always too tough and chewy when I've had it. Overall this is a good addition to our sushi rotation with a reasonable price tag for the amount of food and drink.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible! The food and service were amazing! We ordered 3 rolls and our server , Maggileigh, had incredible recommendations and the best personality. It was our first time here and the assistant GM visitors our table to ensure everything was great. No pictures because we are everything too quickly :) highly recommend!

Yelp
What an amazing experience!!! My friends and I had such a wonderful time. The food was excellent and the service was top notch!! I have a seafood allergy and am always so bummed that I can't enjoy sushi with my family/friends but Blue solved this issue... I mean, they offer a VEGAN FRYER so I was able to enjoy TWO different alternatives that were sooo delicious. The general manager, Mia, goes above and beyond. She greeted EVERYONE and I saw her helping to bring food to tables, heels and all. How refreshing it was to see a manager who was visible the entire time! I recommend Blue 1000X and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My husband and I are in our mid 60s. We recently tried this restaurant for the first time, (he still lives in Germany and was here visiting for the summer) and I just moved here a couple of years ago. The food was very acceptable, and our waiter was, kind, patient and very helpful. The thing that will make us think twice and more about every coming here again was the music. On the locations site, it says: Our restaurant features jazzy outdoor seating........... Maybe it was my mistake, because I took jazzy to mean, that is the kind of music that would be, being played. However At least on the day we were there, they were playing the very modern, music that I believe is being played at bars and clubs for 16-30 year olds. It completely destroyed the entire ambiance of the place. It was truly horrific. In fact it was so bad and loud that 90% of the enjoyment of our meal was greatly diminished. If not jazzy, then some nice Japanese back ground music etc would be so much more pleasant. It was not the best sushi I have ever had, but I/we would give it another try, (if they do something about the music).
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
Food is great but service is completely terrible. Since when is it ok to make your customers tip at least 20%? As someone who used to serve that's meant for GOOD service not rude ones. Mind you it's a dead lunch. They really just need new management & server training.
google avatar

Emily V.

Yelp
We ate at Blue Sushi last night for our first time. It was GREAT! The menu has so many unique rolls. My favorite was The Iguana. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu; he made great recommendations. The restaurant itself is really cool looking, we loved the decorations and feel of it all.
google avatar

Allyson S.

Yelp
It was nice inside and it is located in the fritz farm summit. The sushi was very average, maybe a 6.5/10. The service was also average. It wasn't busy and the server was not attentive and did not bring straws for 15 minutes after us asking. Everyone was nice but I won't be running to come back here!

Hannah H.

Yelp
This is hands down the BEST sushi restaurant in the Lexington area. They have so many great rolls, plates, shareables and cocktails! They also have great deserts (which is always a plus). Everytime I go, the service is spectacular. The servers are attentive and the sushi chefs are preparing the sushi right at the bar and it comes out fresh and delicious every time. It's gorgeous in the restaurant, always clean and the sushi bar can be seen from every angle. They also have an area for "larger" groups to eat. I've also gotten takeout from here before, and even that was perfect and delicious. I can't say anything negative about this place. Go try it out if you like sushi and want some fantastic rolls!!!
google avatar

Delaney M.

Yelp
We LOVE Blue!!! They have amazing happy hour specials and cannot beat all day happy hour on Sundays! My bf and I eat sushi at least once a week and like to try it in new cities when we travel. Of all the cities we've eaten in, this is probably some of the best and most fresh sushi on the East coast!!! I love the ambiance, menu variety, and service! It's quite a big place with a left and right side dining room and a bar in the middle. Additionally, there's two areas of outdoor seating. The bar is first come first serve. Every time we come here, it's packed but they somehow manage to move us right along and we never wait more than 15 mins for a table. I always get the Blue martini while my bf gets the sake flight and we are never disappointed. We try to branch out and try different rolls with each visit but somehow find ourselves always getting Lion King and Tidal Wave. Definitely recommend!! The ceviche is *chefs kiss*. So fresh and tangy. The "everything" smoked salmon came recommended to us by our waiter and wow I wish it came in more than 2 piece serving because I could eat it all day! The breading on the calamari is everything!! Packs a punch of flavor and just the right amount of crisp. However, I feel like they try to bulk up the appetizer by throwing in more vegetables (carrots and peppers) instead of more meat. Will that stop me from ordering it in the future? No way. This is one of the most expansive happy hour menus I've seen from any restaurant, let along a sushi joint. I feel like normally you're stuck with choosing between 6 different versions of a California roll. Not at Blue! Come hungry and Prepare to be amazed!

John N.

Yelp
Nice setting, service was great thanks to a very attentive and friendly server. thanks Noah D! The food was delish! The Thai Hippie was a great vegetarian roll I would highly recommend. The San Marcos Maki was complex with the right amount of heat. Thriller roll was good if you like cream cheese in the mix. Crab Rangoon was a great starter but left us wanting more. 5 pieces for a party of five but for two it would be just fine! Plan on spending some money here but the good news is you get what you pay for! Will def come back!

Yelp
I cannot say enough good stuff about Blue Sushi Sake Grill. The food at Blue Sake meets the palates of all. My folks are vegan and they have an incredibly delicious set of vegan rolls (our favorite is the vegan dragon roll). The fish is incredibly fresh. We love the cloud nine 2.0 and one of our all time favorites is the Madai Chimichurri. The drinks are phenomenal and honestly the price can't be beat. Definitely recommend coming here. Not to mention the amazing happy hour and the dog friendly patio!

Yelp
The roles we choose were fantastic. Tataki Maki, Hawaiian and Hotel Cali. Server was great and clean and nice atmosphere.

Julia G.

Yelp
Amazing. Not a bad bite. Of the 3 rolls, I think my favorite was the tataki maki. I had their house Saki, warm and it was very good.

Yelp
Delicious food and absolutely spot on flavor and portions. Friendly staff and an all round great experience!

Yelp
A takeout order on a whim for me. If anyone over there is in marketing, the argument for taking the financial hit of being on the delivery apps is that someone like me might find a coupon and try something they wouldn't have otherwise. I'd certainly driven by this place, but I'm not a big sushi person or a chain store person so I ignored it until now when a special offer came up and I literally couldn't find any other place to use it on. As a vegetarian, I don't find that Japanese is the best cuisine for me, but here, there is a large vegan menu. At many sushi places you're lucky to find even inari and the tofu and soup will be covered in fish flakes. Here, there is a fantastic range of options, including conventional vegetable and tofu-based rolls, but also something called "caviart", which I had to look up but which turns out to be a seaweed-based vegan replacement for caviar, which is genius. I had a good takeout experience, with everything beautifully packed (the one large container all my sushi came in is a nice efficient way of doing things), and the person working there made sure to keep the ice cream for my dessert spring rolls on the opposite side of the bag from the miso soup. Upon unboxing all of this, it was aesthetically pleasing food that I think my pictures will slightly undersell. There was the expected pickled ginger and wasabi (I don't know enough to know if it was real, but it did have a strong kick). It really felt like the full experience of eating sushi without the fish part. My favorite might have been the shiitake mushroom and sweet potato, but crunchy cabbage and tofu was pretty delicious too and the vegan caviar was a salty and texturally interesting experience. The miso soup was good, but not enough of a portion to be worthwhile. The spring rolls with raspberries, ice cream, and two different sauces were a really marvelous dessert (this was the only non-vegan thing I ordered, but there were vegan desserts). It was on the pricey side, but given how long I've searched for something like this and how good the food was, I'm okay with it. I would also note that they have vegan specials on Tuesday, and I'm pretty sure I'll be back to dine in person.

Yelp
Used to work at the Blue in Naperville, IL. Came in today because I was in the area and wanted to reminisce. Sushi hit the spot as usual. Always recommend the Lion King and Thriller. We also got Tidal Wave because Sunday is all day happy hour. Service was excellent and fast, and our server Gabrielle was really fun and easygoing. Cocktails were excellent and our ceviche was good too (just a tad too salty though). good times :~)

Yelp
Our large party was served well in this cute place. Great service. Our calamari and the crispy rice were both delicious. Everyone loved their food.

Yelp
Love the happy hour deals! I came to Blue Sushi to celebrate a friends birthday so we had a larger group. The restaurant was not very busy, but the service was a bit slow. At first our waiter was very attentive and as the night went by he checked on us less and less. I ordered the Lion King roll, miso soup and spicy edamame (I got the edamame with my yelp code!) everything was delicious!

Yelp
Everything here is just THE BEST. Seriously, there's nothing to avoid on this menu. As a vegan, recently moved from LA, Blue Sushi Sake Grill has answered all my prayers. Not only do they think outside the box with their vegan menu, but their service is above and beyond. Our table ordered espresso martinis all round (which I'm told are incredible) but because there's dairy involved I asked if they could riff on it. No problem. In fact - everyone at the table agreed - mine was the best out of all them! Our favourite place in Lexington to take visitors to and to come back to again, and again.
