The BBQ Joint and Brewery in Ann Arbor is a great spot for a casual meal. The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff, including the bartender, were welcoming and attentive. Service was impressively quick, making it an excellent choice for those looking for efficiency without sacrificing quality. As for the food, the ribs were decent, but the pulled ribs truly stood out—tender, flavorful, and worth the visit. Pricing is fair, making it accessible without breaking the bank. Overall, it’s a solid choice for BBQ enthusiasts or anyone looking for a friendly spot with good vibes. Recommended!

I stopped here to try and flight of their beers and was happy with my experience. It was a bit late, and the food smelled great. The staff was friendly enough, and the beers were solid renditions of their styles. I think the Bumper Crop IPA was my favorite of the bunch. It was just an especially well-balanced IPA. I'd love to try the BBQ next time.

After a vigorous morning workout, my friend and I were ravenous and in search of a hearty meal. Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery seemed like the perfect pit stop. Tucked in the heart of town, this spot not only promises a commitment to local produce and finely crafted beers but also a tempting BBQ menu that we couldn’t wait to dive into. Food Ordered: We opted for the BBQ Platters, which were a delight to our taste buds but left us wanting a bit more in terms of portion size — perhaps not quite enough to fully satisfy two exercised appetites. -The Sliced Beef Brisket was a standout, expertly smoked for 18 hours with a simple salt and pepper rub; it was as tender as it was flavorful. -The Smoked Chicken thighs, brined and smoked to perfection, hit that smoky sweet spot beautifully. -The Sausage Link, less salty than typical sausages and featuring a special sauce or marinade, was a pleasant surprise in both taste and texture. For sides, the Sweet Potato Fries were a delicious pick, and the Braised Greens added a nice balance to the meat-heavy platter. Although we initially craved a Salmon Sandwich, it was no longer available. The staff recommended another fish filet sandwich (the name escapes me), which turned out to be delicious and perfectly seasoned — a serendipitous substitute that did not disappoint. Brews and More: Don't miss the happy hour from 3-6 pm daily, where you can enjoy half-price sides and brews. It's a fantastic deal, especially for tasting their award-winning craft beer. Final Thoughts: Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery impresses with its commitment to local sourcing and high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is ideal for relaxing post-workout, and while the portions could be larger, the delicious flavors and excellent service make it well worth a visit. Highly recommended for a genuine A^2 dining experience.

First time and while I enjoyed it I have had better BBQ. The brisket was good but the turkey was dry and not good. The cornbread was average. The BBQ chips were good and better then the fries. The waffle fries were above average but mashed potatoes we below average. The normal BBQ sauce was good but the vinegar based was very thin. I would try again and would like to try the ribs.

Smells so good right when you walk in, the beer is fantastic, I'm about to try the food. Everything that is being brought out of the kitchen looks and smells amazing! The pulled beef sandwich is totally worth coming back for, I want more. Came back for more, got the smoked sausage and it is delicious! Really good food and more good service.

To start, our waiter was nice - now to get into the review. My fiancé, stepson and I decided to stop into The Blue Tractor for a late lunch on Saturday the 25th. The problem arose when we received our entrees and all three were incorrect. The first two were not made per specific request due to allergies. The third came and had a long hair across the taco under the toppings along with the incorrect side. While the did take the food to correct, the manager came out to inform us that our order was top priority and being expedited to the front of the line, 20mins later, this being for a total of 7 tacos. The icing on the cake was when we received our food, while taking a bite of one of the new tacos, we found another hair inside. At this point we were completely grossed out, while trying to be understanding and patient (restaurant was not busy) we were all disgusted and had no appetite. The manager did tell us we were ok to leave as we would not be receiving a bill, we will not be returning!

This place seat in an odd corner of the restaurant univers half way in between the good ol' American house meal "like Gran pa or Gran ma's kitchen" and yet the place is modern with a hipster vibe almost like a high end restaurant. As a result the food is made of well executed classic with time to time a nice spin (the green beans with pepper seasoning or the jalapeno cornbread)! In most case the dishes will be awesome and extremely good! However some of the dishes are plain ok and won't be the most exciting you get... But everything really taste good. The service is extremely detailed, efficient and kind. That modern touched mixed with family meal. The atmosphere is exactly seating in that odd space making it a very family friendly place but also the perfect spot to hang with the "bros". Beer is great. The price is fair and portion in accordance to other downtown Ann Arbor location. Service is efficient and there is many table making rare to find a seat. Five stars no complain.

I was in town for the Big Ten Wrestling Championships and stopped in here and this place is definitely a must stop! I didn’t eat but the beer was awesome! I got the Bearded Pig Cream Ale. So good! They also have a lot of merchandise available to purchase! Definitely make this a stop when you are in Ann Arbor!!!

Yelp
Visited for lunch. Slow service - poor waitress was working the entire place alone. Bummer food - fried pickles had hard edges that you couldn't chew and made me choke twice. Chicken tacos were soggy and the shell exploded. My kids hated their meals. Cold and loud inside. Also bathrooms were seriously freezing no heat whatsoever.

Yelp
I came this evening for trivia and ordered a glass of the house red to sip on while I waited for the game to start. About 10 minutes past the hour I checked and apparently trivia had been cancelled. Not going to lie - I was a bit disappointed but was not that bothered, the glass of wine I had was nice and the vibes were cool so I was happy to just sit there and read my book. When it came time to pay, I asked the bartender for my check (she had been working like crazy all night) and she said the glass of wine was on the house since I had come for trivia and it was cancelled. SO SWEET. I was with my dad and we both talked about how nice, albeit unnecessary, it was. The food smelled fantastic when I was in there and after the lovely interaction I had, this will be top on my list next time I want to grab dinner out. Big thanks to whoever the bartender was this evening - she deserves a raise!

Yelp
Blue tractor bbq and brewery located in Ann Arbor hit the spot! We had a relatively Short wait being game day and ruminated on our options and went with a dinner platter to Maximize our food savory options. it was gold, the bbq ribs and pulled pork were flavorful, tender, and mouth watering. our sides were just as good and if you like mac and cheese the cling was great and texture was perfect. the cornbread was just right, that is if you like a more moist bread that doesn't crumble when you put your fork into it. we finished the evening with a birthday special getting a highly recommended ice cream bowl with chocolate chip cookie buried underneath. the icing on the top was having an electric atmosphere at the big house and celebrating another michgan win! go blue! next time you're in Ann Arbor you have to check out Blue tractor bbq and brewery! I can't wait to come back for more! https://www.instagram.com/reel/C0CCoj3rr5D/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Yelp
We were seated immediately upon arriving. Then the wait started, 25 minutes and not a thing. No water, no drinks, no acknowledgment. Was about to leave. I'm sure glad we didn't. Jacob came over and apologized noting there was a mix up(it happens) we got our drink and food order and had our drinks almost immediately after. He then apologized once more for the wait and made sure the first round was on them. Mistakes happen but it's how you take care of them that really matters. The food was absolutely incredible. I'm probably more of a bbq snob than I should be, and am generally disappointed if it's not better than I make at home. I've had bbq all over the country and this place is absolutely in my top 5 on food alone, but the service and taking care of the customer was fantastic as well.

Yelp
First when our food came out all entrees came out the first two were incorrect and not made per request due to allergies and brought out the incorrect sides. The third came and had a long hair across the food under the toppings was present.... They took back the food to correct. 20mins later even though being told our food was going to be priority it then came out. The icing on the cake was when we get our food starting to eat we found another hair inside a taco that we were eating and completely grossed us out to the point we couldn't even think about eating at that point! Completely disgusting, while the manager took care of the bill we will not be returning!

Yelp
Terrible Service. Dinner time, not busy. Server took drink order, delivered drinks, said would be back in a few minutes to take food order. Disappeared, she never came back. No one checked on us or made eye contact. Twenty minutes later - Got up to leave, found server, and left. She did not even seem to recognize me/table or care.

Yelp
Hadn't had good barbecue in a while and I'm glad I stopped in. Food was great, the place had a moody and rustic ambiance which looked really good. Had a really caring server and the food was out pretty quick. Game was on too. Would recommend the brisket tacos.

Yelp
A classic. Every time I have gone here with my friends or family, I have always enjoyed my food and beer here. The service is quick and very kind, the beer has many options, and the food has no bad remarks. The portions are price-proportional, and I think very fair. I typically get just the pulled pork sandwich + fries, and the price is reasonable for the size and taste. There are many different types of BBQ sauces to choose from to your liking. This place is great for lunch or dinner, and I know I'll be back. It's no KC/texas bbq, but for Michigan, I'm a fan.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
My review may be skewed as I'm a southern girl who only moved to Michigan four years ago - but this is bad. I really wanted to like it. It's so hard to find good southern food! The worst part was the price.. I was blown away by how small the portions were, how terrible it tasted - and all for an astronomical price.

Yelp
Unbelievable bbq!!! Came here on a Sunday early afternoon after running errands. Vibe was laid back and reminded me of our days in North Carolina. Our waitress Sara was AWESOME!! Gave us phenomenal recommendations and was very pleasant. Food & Beverage: Intended to have lunch entrees but filled up on the loaded pulled pork waffle fries....which was NOT a bad thing. Next time, we'll definitely try their platters and burgers. Their beers are brewed in house, as their also a brewery. Full bar and wine is also available. Highly recommend their specialty drink Patio Sunset and the classic Bacardi & Coke. Parking: You're in downtown Ann Arbor so private lots are few and far between. The Fourth & Washington structure is right next door. On a Sunday afternoon, you'll probably find parking on level 3 and above. Another option is the Fourth & Williams garage. Seating: inside & outside seating. It was low 60s so we opted to sit indoors. Booths, tables, and 1/2 booth 1/2 tables available. Good for groups!

Yelp
It's a shame. The food is decent. But the service is very poor. The past two times I have been here with my family have been terrible. Servers disappear for long periods of time. It takes forever to communicate with them. They rarely check on tables. Ugh.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is bomb! The food is served hot and fresh. It's full of flavor and smoked to perfection. The Mac and cheese is the absolute best. It's served hot and super creamy. The server brings out a caddy of sauces to choose from, you can purchase a sauce to take home as well.

Yelp
Awful but what else was I expecting from the often (miserable) Ann Arbor food scene? To be totally honest the meal was an insult to bbq culture. The ribs were under-smoked (or not smoked at all?) and had a overly sweet one dimensional sauce. They did not even come pre-cut, and were served with a massive dull knife. The pulled pork was clearly sitting in the steamer for too long. Dry and rubbery, had decent smoke flavor but the stringiness of the meat was a total turn off. Sides-- oh god where do I start! Horrible greens. whoever is the prep cook clearly can't chop greens to save their life! All the pieces were radically different sizes leaving some pieces overly mushy and others hard. The bacon made the whole dish greasy and borderline inedible. Beans were flavored with cumin (does not belong in a traditional backed bean) and had a raw tomato paste taste, and it had you guessed it--undercooked pieces of veg (poblano pepper). I give them 1-2 years more max before they shut down, they are 'getting by' based on location only. Would honestly love to talk to the chef so he could walk me through his non-existent logic and lack of taste buds.

Melanie P.

Yelp
Food is mediocre. Beer is not bad. Place is way understaffed so while the servers try hard, they can't keep up with all their tables.

Yelp
My mother and I were excited to try a new spot today and placed an order here - only to realize our food is scheduled to be made 2 DAYS from now. Wednesday the 12th at 4:25 pm. Charge is already pending. Only problem is, the restaurant is not open until Wednesday despite Google Maps saying they are open Monday-Thursday 3pm-10pm. We only found out it was closed by driving all the way downtown. If you are not open then I don't understand why your system would/could even accept our order? Unless we are placing a catering order, why would we place an order for DAYS away? We literally got 2 sandwiches and a drink. Why inconvenience your customers and staff like this? Idk if it was an oversight or intentional, but we cannot cancel our $50 order and will have to wait at least a week to be refunded once we are able to contact the restaurant Wednesday afternoon. Ridiculous when all you are doing is trying to grab dinner. This whole experience has been a major turn off. Update your information online.

Yelp
Restaurant was understaffed or we had a horrible waiter. We had reservations for 7 and they gave us 2 4 tops. We rearranged them. Took forever to order and then get our drinks. They only had watermelon cider in a can. Beer on tap had enough choices. 9 dollars for cornbread really? Mostly a bbq place but you can get beef burgers or a salmon burger. Beef burgers were plain. No tomatoes or lettuce. Bbq was disappointing to me. Both the pulled pork and brisket were fatty. My wife liked her ribs pulled pork cole slaw and grits. The waiter said the ribs were hit or miss. I had 1 of them and they were excellent. The waiter raved about the brisket and mac n cheese. Wrong on both accounts. I liked the sweet potato fries. We also were told the bathrooms were in the basement. We were on the 2nd floor. What a hike! Found them later on the 2nd floor.

Yelp
I was sitting on my deck yesterday and the delightful smells of someone grilling in my neighborhood wafted over to me. I didn't have anything to throw on the grill and I was solo for dinner so I decided to do delivery of some tasty BBQ so I went with Blue Tractor. Despite living in Ann Arbor for almost 9 years I've shockingly never had Blue Tractor and I wasn't sure where to start. I was in the mood for chicken so I actually went with the smoked drumsticks, which you can find on their appetizers/shareables portion of the menu, and I added coleslaw and mac and cheese a la carte from their sides menu. For my drumsticks I got the BBQ sauce on the side. Delivery was prompt and the drumsticks were excellent. Juicy, lightly smoked, with a sweet and tangy sauce on the side. 5 drums was a good portion as well. As for the mac and cheese, it was a little on the drier side than I like. Maybe something was lost in the delivery, or it was the end of the day but it wasn't the cheesy side I was expecting in photos I've seen. But I would definitely be game to try it again. The coleslaw, however, was very good. Creamy as advertised and dotted with what I *think* was celery seed. I'll definitely be back for those drummies again. And I'm excited to try their other meats and dishes. I can promise it won't take me 9 years to do it, either.

Yelp
This order is for their take out only but from what we tried on a whim for a quick lunch we were very impressed! We placed our order online and their website is very user friendly for ordering, even on mobile which was nice. We were able to pre pay for the meal and get a very accurate timing on when the order would be ready for pickup. Now on to the food! The pulled brisket sandwich is DELICIOUS! We added a side of their three cheese mac which has smoked Gouda, giving it a very grown up and sophisticated flair from your usual mac n cheese. I also ordered their baby back ribs which came with seasoned fries, cole slaw and extra bbq sauce. Loved the bbq sauce, but the fries were a little limp by the time we got them home about 15 min later but that's understandable. The only thing I didn't outright love was the cole slaw as I like mine a bit sweeter, just a touch more sugar and I think it would be a slam dunk! We'll def be back not just for the pulled brisket sandwich, but excited to try other items on the menu next!

Yelp
I'd heard good things about this restaurant, so I checked it out over the weekend. I ordered a BBQ platter with pulled pork, brisket, cheddar grits, and coleslaw. The flavors of all were delicious. I found my pork to be too dry, so thankfully the BBQ sauce was a yummy addition to my meat. Next time, I will get the brisket and try another of the meat options. The Patio Sunset cocktail was such a beautiful color that it was a shame to stir it to drink it. It, too, was quite yummy. Given that it took us a while to get to the menu to make our selections, I was thankful that our server was patient with us and returned several times to check to see if we were ready to order. The restaurant filled up while we were there, and I am glad that we were able to get a booth for a bit more privacy in the busy restaurant. Overall, this was a positive experience, and I will return for another visit someday.

Yelp
I love it here! It's been a minute, but the beers continue to impress me! Great food and atmosphere!!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, but was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered the pulled pork fries starter, the 2 meats and 2 sides (mac and cheese and braised greens), and 1 more side (seasonal vegetables). Of everything, I enjoyed the pulled pork fries the most. The portion is ginormous, so I would say be prepared to take it home unless you're with a large group. The meats were okay, I wasn't particularly wowed by the beef brisket or linked sausage. The mac and cheese was very salty, probably because of the beer cheese. The braised greens was a nice balance to all the salt. The seasonal vegetables was corn and peas and I would not order that again if that is the option. The server was nice and attentive, but also the wait once we sat down was really quite long. Maybe I'll try them again, but it may be a while.

Yelp
After an afternoon at the Hands-On Museum, we were looking for a kid-friendly place within walking distance. Yelp delivered! My partner had a beer from their selection and said it was great. I stuck with water since I was driving. We ordered the three meat / two sides combo. B Both of us love sauteed greens, so we picked that. I got the mac & cheese, she the grits. The greens were cooked well, and had some meat in them, but they were too sweet. Something in the sauce almost made them taste too sugary, or like a dessert. Strange contrast with the bitterness of the greens themselves. I really liked the mac and cheese, which had a slight funk to it, and liked the bite of the grits I stole even better. The cornbread was good. The turkey was good, although a tiny bit dry and it didn't seem to go that well with any of the three BBQ sauces they brought out. The pulled pork was fantastic - tender, with some bark on the outside, and paired great with all three sauces. The brisket was very good - tender, although I would have liked a bit less done and a tiny bit more fat on that particular cut. The kids really enjoyed their mac & cheese and chicken fingers. They were out of the fruit cup I think the kids' meal was supposed to come with - so my kids ate fried chicken and french fries. This was a definite miss - I don't expect health food when I go to a BBQ joint, but there should have been SOMETHING in the kids' meals that had some semblance of vitamins in it. The server was delightful - friendly with the kids, patient with them and helpful with the menu. On the spot with refills. I would definitely return to Blue Tractor next time I'm in the area, hopefully when I'm in a position to try one of their beers. :)

Yelp
Wish I could leave 0 stars. Came here with my dad and brother and have been waiting for over an hour for are food and multiple other people got food before us.

Yelp
Fantastic spot with delicious and funky bbq sauces and all. We did pick up and it was seamless and the woman at the front was extremely kind. As a Texas native I approve!

Yelp
We recently ordered takeout from Blue Tractor. Nicely located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. The service was prompt and courteous. I ordered the three meat platter, which included beef brisket, pulled pork, and 1/4 lb of baby back ribs with two sides: mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. The baby back ribs were succulent and flavorful, while the mashed potatoes were creamy and well-seasoned. The pull pork and beef brisket were okay.
google avatar

Mitchell L.

Yelp
Very standard barbecue place. I could tell they were mass-producing smoked meats for a restaurant since I have had a comparison between smaller barbecue places out of a small building and serving until there was none left.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
I have been to the Blue Tractor many times over the years, somewhat surprised I haven't left a review for it yet. I came in last night for a few drinks with a close friend. We only stayed for two drinks and didn't order any food because we had eaten earlier. However, the sliders here from what I remember were top notch. I'll have to check it back out soon and actually get some more food.
google avatar

Gaby F.

Yelp
Disappointed.. My partner came here precovid and really enjoyed the food. The portions were big and enough for one to two people. This was our first time coming here since then, and we ordered the 2 meats with two sides. They gave us three sad pieces of Turkey, and half a cup of pulled pork. The seasonal vegetables looked like canned peas, and we barely got any fries. This cost us 30 dollars! We were not satisfied and went to McDonald's after because we were still hungry P.S. our waitress was very nice

Rob G.

Yelp
Service from Amanda was great! Food was good. I went here with friends on a game day during "everyday happy hour" time. when we got our bills we realized it wasn't happy hour. We were told that day they decided to not do happy hour during game days. I wouldn't care if this was shown on their website or told to us before we ordered. Very disappointing to be bait and switched in this way. don't trust their happy hour call and confirm before you plan your visit.

Diamond S.

Yelp
Mediocre food & even worse service. Food was cold and waiters wouldn't even stay long enough to hear us ask for ketchup or ask if we needed anything else when dropping off our food. Not friendly service at all. Tables were also small lol felt like a wannabe Famous Dave's
google avatar

Davontae F.

Yelp
First things first, I knew the food was going to be great from the moment I walked inside! The bbq aroma was the deal-maker for me! My friends and I decided to stop by for food and to enjoy one another's company. This was my first time here btw. I got the Smoked Salmon Burger and it was so delicious. The waffle fries were okay, I'd suggest the sweet potato fries instead! All in all, this is a great place for food and great conversations.

Yelp
Yesterday (6/15) I ordered for pickup the Choose Two Meats and Two Sides consisting of smoked sausage and brisket (brisket is an extra $1), corn muffin, fries and cheddar grits. Total came to $19. This is what I got. I'm so glad I paid the extra $1 for the bonus brisket (a total of two incomplete slices). I understand we're coming out of a pandemic and need to support local businesses as much as possible, but paying almost $20 for something like this is unjustifiable. If I were the business owner I would be embarrassed serving this. Before COVID, Blue Tractor usually serves high quality food with great service. Now I'm not sure about returning and cannot recommend.

Yelp
Best bbq in Ann Arbor! The Mac n cheese rocks! The service is great! The ambiance is fresh and clean! It's true bbq and amazing !! Go here

Yelp
EXCEPTIONAL! My fiancé and I came just to enjoy lunch. The service is wonderful, the food exceeded my expectations. From appetizer to drinks to the meal. I had the brisket and smoked chicken, with Mac and a DELICIOUS Caesar salad. He got the ribs (omg so good!!!) and pulled pork. It all was fantastic. We will absolutely be coming back.

Yelp
Nice place in town - they happily accommodated a large group (22 people) on short notice. The place is large & the server was outstanding. She was on top of it and handled the large crowd great. I had the carolina sandwich and it was good. Everyone was happy with their food.

Yelp
Sat outside on a beautiful day. Had to wait quite awhile for some one to wait on us after going inside to tell them we'd like to order. Order the 3 meat platter figuring it should be plenty for 2 people. Half rack of rib, chicken and sausages. After a Long wait, people sat after us had already eaten and gone, ours finally came. Ribs were ok but only 3. Isn't half a rack more than 3 ribs?? Inflation our waitress said. The taste was ok but meat did not fall off the bone. Barely warm. Chicken came cut up which I thought was odd. Kind of bland and cold. Our 1 sausage was warm and tasty. Came with cornbread, good, and beans throw in the corner of the platter. They were very tomatoey and neither of us cared much for them and I'm a bean lover. We had coke and a beer. Total was $54. Pretty expensive for what you get but figured your paying for the location, area. We're only 20 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor and our first meal. I think we can find something better especially for the price. Recomendations appreciated.

Yelp
Okay, went back to give them another shot and MUCH better service. Our waitress was a star. Hopefully that was just a fluke. I wish they had some less heavy options for summer dining and that they'd put fresh pineapple on the salad rather than canned. But, all in all the food is solid.

Yelp
What a fantastic place!! From the atmosphere to the food. All around amazing! Haha. We came here for dinner. He was a bit buzzed at the time. I was dying for the brisket and mashed potatoes. He ordered ribs. The food comes and he stole my brisket and I got his ribs. Whomp whomp whomp haha. No worries. We always share our food so I still got my fill. The service was great. We started out sitting outside but then the rain came and we had to go inside. We were lucky enough to sit right at the bar. The food... Well you'll have to go there to understand. So yum! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Nice place to meet up with friends or a work group. Apps and bbq were good. A bit on the salty side. I mean salt not pricey. Server was super fun and engaging. It was quiz night but since out with a work group, we did not participate. Cozy relaxed place for a nice night out!

Yelp
Pulled pork sandwich is fantastic and the fries are delicious. The mac is good but not that creamy.

Yelp
Hadn't been to the Blue Tractor in a while and we were happy to find out they do happy hour on Saturday too. Two of us split the three meat platter. The brisket and chicken were divine and the pulled pork was good too. We had Mac and Cheese and waffle fries for sides and they were both ok. Drinks are as good as we remembered.

Yelp
This craft brewery smokes some of the best Brisket and BBQ in Ann Arbor. Bearded Pig tasted similar to a light cream ale and went well with the meal. Started off with the Brisket Chili. Fantastic on a cold day and very tasty. Sour cream and cheese atop was perfect for the amount of spice. I had the Brisket and Smoked Turkey plate. Both were amazing, the Turkey was surprisingly very good and I enjoyed it with the Mustard based house sauce. Brisket was not too fatty and well prepared. Braised Greens and Mac both top notch! Big fan of the Cornbread too!

Yelp
Good beer choices. Brisket was tasty, ribs a bit on the chewy side. Service was good. Braised greens were tasty, slaw was a bit bland

Yelp
I hasn't been here in years before last night. The food was pretty good. They ran out of greens so my boyfriend and I were disappointed. The Mac and cheese was pretty good but could have been warmer. I did not like the baked beans at all- too much of a tomato sauce taste. The brisket and pulled pork were fantastic, but the sausage and pulled chicken were just okay. The corn bread was a little dry but the butter saved it. Their beer is good but not great. The service was okay- a little slow. We weren't told what the barbecue sauces were and they aren't labeled so we had to figure it out on our own. I really liked the mustard sauce. All in all, a good meal but a bit pricey for what it is. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon given all of the great restaurants in Ann Arbpr.

Yelp
I like the Blue Tractor BBQ. The BBQ is really good, I'm not an expert on the type of food, but I do know that the food here tastes very good. The beer here is pretty good, the people who work here are great and provide excellent service. The pricing is good and so are the portions. I would definitely go back again when in A2.

Yelp
I didn't know what to expect from a BBQ restaurant north of the Mason Dixon line, but I am happy to say that this one hit the spot! I visited recently with a group of friends for dinner and was impressed with the friendly atmosphere, attentive service, and variety and flavor of the food. We arrived during prime dinner hour on a weekend but didn't have to wait for a table. The restaurant was buzzing with activity, and while it was full, it didn't feel crowded or too loud. Our server got right down to business and took our order. I decided on the burger with blue cheese and bacon with a side of sweet potato fries. I'm something of a burger connoisseur, and once created a list on Yelp of places with great burgers. Without a doubt, the burger here hits the mark on every level -- flavor, doneness, slight toast to the bun...right on the money. For your next burger fix, Head to the Blue Tractor and find a new favorite!

Yelp
We visited on a Saturday evening at about 6pm, party of 5. We walked right in and sat down, no wait. I ordered a beer, the POLOTMAVÉ, a Czech Amber, which I quite liked. For dinner I got a BBQ platter with sliced beef brisket and smoked chicken. The brisket was an up charge. I found the chicken to be nothing special, dry and somewhat bland. The various sauces helped. The brisket was better, but for this price (and the up charge) I was surprised how little meat there was on this "platter". I had baked beans and mashed potatoes as sides, neither of which was anything special. All the food was fine, but for these prices I would expect more (nearly $40 for my meal). The topper was the 3% excess cost charge added to the bill (not a credit card surcharge, which I'm fine with if notified up front, just a flat out additional 3% charge on the bill). I found that to be excessive, especially at this already high prices. I have no problem spending for great food, but for these prices there are far better choices in Ann Arbor. I would recommend passing on this one, or maybe just stop in for a beer (which I did enjoy) and an appetizer.

Yelp
I came looking for a unique bbq experience, was not really interested in the brewery experience. Upon receiving the food, it looked delicious and fresh. Portion sizes, especially for 3 meat and 2 side platter, I felt like they could've served more for the price. On the other hand, looks can be deceiving, what looked delicious turned out to be mediocre bbq meat. I have had bbq from Texas, Kansas City, Arkansas, and Louisiana, this place unfortunately does not compare close to these areas. I will say, the bbq sauces were superb and full of flavor. They saved Blue Tractor and extra star, good for you guys. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at blue tractor and would recommend them to the average food/barbecue pallet taster. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is lively. Would come again if I am hungry WHEN I am in downtown Ann Arbor. Thank you guys!

Yelp
My friends and I went out to Blue Tractor for dinner on Midnight Madness. It probably would have been a good idea for us to have made a reservation, as we ended up waiting over an hour to finally get seated and get our food. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and subbed the chips for french fries. I really enjoyed my sandwich. The bun was nicely toasted and the pulled pork was very flavorful. The barbecue sauce in the red bottle complimented the pulled pork very well. The french fries here are amazing too. One of my friends got the same thing as me and my other friend got the plate with pulled chicken, brisket, french fries, and coleslaw. She thought the brisket was delicious, but the chicken was okay. Everyone agreed, the french fries are awesome! Overall, besides waiting for over an hour, my friends and I throughly enjoyed our time. This is my 4th time coming to Blue Tractor and my experience each time has been great. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some good bbq.
