Loved the buildings very pretty - the white wines were not our favorites - reds were better - would come back for the petit petit red. Relaxed and very pretty views

We had an amazing time celebrating a relative’s wedding at Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery. The atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal — stunning views, warm ambiance, and a perfect setting for such a special occasion. Meeting the owners was truly an honor; they are wonderful people, and it’s clear that special people create special places. We're already looking forward to future visits!

Google
This was my first time visiting this winery, and I truly hope to come back here again one day. Everything was absolutely incredible — the wine was excellent, the service was warm and welcoming, and the views were breathtaking. It’s a place that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended!

This winery is undeniably beautiful with stunning views, and the wine itself is very good. However, the service left much to be desired. We were given a tasting menu and instructed to choose five wines, which were then poured in one-ounce tastings to drink at our table. Unlike other wineries we’ve visited, there was no discussion of the wines, their background, or the winemaking process. That personal touch was completely missing, and it made the experience feel transactional rather than engaging. For a first-time visit, this was disappointing—we enjoy learning about the wines as much as tasting them. Another surprising detail: when I asked for water, I was told it had to be purchased. I’ve never been to a winery that didn’t offer complimentary water, whether from a dispenser or bottled. On top of that, when I asked for a box to take food home, I was told, “I’m not a caterer and don’t have boxes.” It’s truly a shame because the setting is gorgeous and the wine is enjoyable, but the lack of hospitality overshadowed it. Two tastings and a couple of appetizers came to $79—and that did not include the bottle of water I had to purchase. For that price point, I expected a far more welcoming and informative experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Google
Driving up to the main tasting room the building looks amazing. The views from the property is amazing. Then you go inside the interior design is meh... not bad just meh. The tasting is one of the most expensive in NOVA and it is "Self-guided". The wine is ok and though there is food with good portions every item is alacart, including water. Service can be summed up with the last thing that was said to us when we asked for a box to take our remaining food. "I'm not a caterer, I don’t have boxes".

Beautiful scenery of Blue vally views with perfect wine pairing winery with a live music too. Delicious baguette with salami and smoked goda cheese. We fall in love with this Blue Vally vineyard. We will be back.

Google
Spectacular view from every window in the massive tall, newly renovated clubhouse. The staff were very kind and informative. We enjoyed our visit. It’s beautifully situated on rolling hills with panoramic views. Four stars because they served mostly dry wines. The sweetest is the Remembrance at 2.4%. It was tasty. The entree item we ordered was a bit disappointing on its presentation and taste. We have been finding this across the country. The service industry is just leaving off important little extras possibly because of staffing issues. We ordered the mozzarella with olive oil. It was brought out on a paper plate with plastic spoon. As I’ve said in previous reviews it’s the small things, the special details that make us opt to go out and have a meal or do a wine tasting or enjoy a vineyard. It’s about the experience.

Google
Great winery! Wife and I, along with a little pup named Chewy, visited the winery last weekend and loved it! Katie was a great host and was very personable as she was walking us through the different wines. The winery is beautiful and perched up on a great little bluff with a great view. Outdoor area has plenty of seating and parking. Highly recommended for all wine enthusiasts! Dogs welcome but bringing them inside is a little restricted, which I guess is from people who bring their hyper dogs with them and don't watch them. Would recommend more shaded areas for sitting outdoors, but overall great experience. Thanks Katie! We love all the wine we bought from you!

Yelp
Beautiful location overlooking the vineyard. Very nice spacious tasting room. The taster was very attentive asking about wine preferences to suggest wines to taste. I preferred the whites over the reds.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to tour the winery with my husband and hung out afterwards with coworkers sippng delicious wine, listening to the live music all while perched among the gorgeous Blue Ridge mountains. It was the perfect place to unwind on a Saturday. Their craftsmanship in winemaking is unparalleled in VA and will keep us coming back. Yanni and Helen are excellent hosts--we felt like family. Everyone is so excited to visit again soon!

Yelp
Great winery! Traveled to this venue on a Saturday and was pleasantly impressed! Firstly, parking is super easily due to the winery being spacious. When you walk in, you are greeted by the welcoming ambiance of the winery. There's plenty of seats since the venue is large and you're able to seat yourself. For the wines, my friend and I opted to do the wine tasting. I'm more of a red girly so I chose the white and red combination. Each wine was delicious and every choice was reasonable in price. The staff was amazing at explaining each wine choice and offered suggestions based off my likes. That Saturday they had live music so it was a joy being able to do our wine tasting and listen to the great band. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I love this vineyard so much! Our sommelier was the sweetest, most friendly lady who told us fun stories about her life and the surrounding area. The grounds are well kept and incredibly beautiful and their wines taste really good. They also have canned wines you can buy. I don't care much for how the hall is decorated as it does t look or feel comfortable, I wish they would decorate it to match the aesthetic of everything else - maybe more sofas/lounge style furniture? Don't let that take away from the experience though. I think it would also make for a great event location. They have a huge collection of wines and I had so much fun trying something in every category. I can't recommend a specific wine but I can tell you that I didn't regret any of my choices and I've indicated which ones I tried in the menu photo. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
To start- what gorgeous views! An unobstructed view of the beauty of the Blue Valley mountains. Next- the wine, definitely the best wines I've tried in Virginia. Try the Petit Manseng & the owners reserve. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Our whole party had a great time, will definitely return soon!

Yelp
Some of the most beautiful views we've seen at a Virginia winery. Blue Valley Vineyards is at the top of a little mountain so there are great views all around the tasting room. The tasting room is a bit sterile and not cozy at all (high ceilings, bland wall colors). The service wasn't particularly friendly and the wine was mediocre (I tried the viognier and the memories blend). The chairs were comfy and the band was fun if a bit off key.

Yelp
Amazing great wine great people great destination and property. Virginia wine has come a long way.

Yelp
The winery is on a beautiful piece of property with amazing views in every direction. There is tons of room inside and outside to relax, live music, and great vibes. The wine is excellent with my favorite being the "remembrance" wine. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Such a beautiful day to spend at the winery. My cousin got married here over the weekend. The location was perfect. Wine and love...what more can a girl ask for?!! Service was great. I really enjoyed the wine selection that was chosen for the wedding. Not too sweet, both the red and white selection...I preferred the white. Not sure the names of the wines...the woman serving the wine was very helpful as well. We arrived early assuming we could venture around and maybe enjoy a flight or 2 but the venue was actually closed in preparation for the event. I'm going to have to venture back down one of these days when I'm needed a good wine adventure. Would definitely recommend this vineyard. The views of the mountains and scenic views were just breathtakingly beautiful.

Yelp
It is a very relax winery. The service was fantastic and friendly owners Yianni and Eleni. Live music was very entertaining. Beautiful views of the valley and the mountains . I love the cats roaming around outside the winery, it reminded me of my stay in the Greek islands. I highly recommend to visit this vineyard and winery.

Yelp
Tasty Gouda & crackers. Friendly service. Impeccable view. Can't wait to return when the weather is nice!!!

Yelp
It's the views for me! Absolutely beautiful!! My friend chose this winery and another close by for her birthday winery tour last weekend. There was a bad accident on 66 so we arrived much later than we wanted to but we still enjoyed our time. There was a car show here the same day which was cool but due to that, no tastings were available. We just had to order bottles. The rose and remembrance were among my faves! There was a suya food truck and it was really good. Overall, our group of 11 had a great time here and I'd recommend this winery!

Harold B.

Yelp
Wines, very diverse selection. View, great of the Blue Ridge. Aka Shenandoahs, Food, we didn't have any. Venue, Looks like a great place for a wedding or event.

Yelp
Covid-19 Review: We arrived on Mother's Day around 5pm with a reservation and they close at 6pm but do not offer tastings past 5pm. The staff asked good questions to help us pick out a wine by going through the tasting notes. We settled on a bottle of rosé on sale for $20 that was dark pink and very fruit forward. I also liked that they gave us an ice bucket for the rosé. There was ample seating indoors and outdoors and the building is very modern. There are 360 degree views outside with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains.

John S.

Yelp
Very disappointing service, no postings or signage of a private event that closed the venue. When we walked in, the staff was rude and not understanding of the situation. We were leaving and one staff member insisted on walking us out to "make sure that we left". We obviously wouldn't have tried to go in if we knew or if the early closure was properly posted. Overall, horribly disappointing and will not be going there ever again.

Yelp
Good staff views were all outstanding . Would recommend this vineyard . Became a member loved their Donkey Rose and Petit Verdot.

Yelp
I was in town for the Fourth of July holiday weekend and wanted a different atmosphere aside from the busy DC area. I discovered Blue Valley and knew I had to pay them a visit. With only an hour drive from DC, this looked like the perfect winery to visit during my stay. They had a spacious parking lot and loved how it was so close to the entrance. The interior itself is very spacious with two bar area to order from and ample seating areas. As it was hot and muggy, we didn't get a chance to sip our wines on their outdoor patio but can attest the view was breathtaking. They have about two outdoor areas to select from and depending on your party group, you may choose one over the other. In regards to their wines, they had a great selection and we made sure to take advantage of their whites plus rose wines too. I really enjoyed their Chardonnay and their delicious selections of rose. Along with our wines, we made sure to try their signature herb bread that was too good to pass up and their Gouda too. Both selections were amazing and highly recommend it. We had an overall great experience and looking forward to returning.

Yelp
I discovered this great winery by accident during a hot, sunny day, when another nearby winery had no AC. Blue Valley had a very open interior with plenty of seating and a splendid view of the valley below. As the sun was going down, we discovered some outdoor seating on the patio with an even better view. The wine I tried, by the bottle, was Cabernet Franc, which was very pleasant. There are many more to choose from, but I find that Cab Francs are usually my favorites. By the way, the staff was very helpful and friendly. On a warm summer afternoon, Blue Valley was not very crowded. I guess everyone was at the beach. I would give this winery a higher mark except for food. There isn't much on the menu.

Yelp
Beautiful, inspiring place! Glad we stop by here from our cabin trip. Tito Yianni did a great job touring us! Great time!

Yelp
Great interior! Quick service. The wine is okay. Go for the views!!! Try the white wines.

Yelp
I had a nice time at the winery. I got there a little on the early side so it was pretty quiet. It started to fill up later on. They didn't offer any tastings and you had to pay $30 per person which was put into a gift card and could be used throughout your visit or future visits. I thought it was a little pricey but we ended getting a bottle at the winery and thanks to a great deal of 3 bottles for $30 we got to take three home with us. The views and live music were nice as well. A little more subdued of a atmosphere but it was a Sunday afternoon in very hot temps so i took that into consideration. One of the staffers said they were turning people away the day before. They had some artisan moonshine chocolate which was lovely with the wine. And outside was a BBQ truck. Which smelled delicious. I didn't try because i had just had BBQ for breakfast. Would love to see what it's like on a busier day.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way back from a Cabin trip during the week! Really nice location, as the winery sits pretty high. Tried the wine flight and even ended up getting two bottles for the group from that tasting. Really friendly staff and nice food options as well.

Yelp
Situated on a hilltop with sweeping views of Virginia farm country, Blue Valley is a wonderful spot to enjoy a wine tasting or an outdoor picnic. Wine tastings are $15 for 5. That's a decent value for roughly two glasses of drinkable wine. The staff picks the flight, and on our visit we were served Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose, Cabernet Franc, and a red blend called Tradition. They also have their full selection of wine available by the glass for between $8-15. The wine is just fine, and the Rose was our favorite of the lot. The issue isn't so much the wine as it is the price they're selling it for. The bottles at Blue Valley run from $22-39, but most of what we tasted was comparable in quality to what you could get off the shelf at any market for $11-13. They were selling their Chardonnay at $150 a case ($12.50/bottle), but the Chard had a musty taste that we did not prefer at any price. But while the wine wasn't something we necessarily cared to take home, we were happy to buy a few glasses as the price of admission: it's what you pay to relax and enjoy the views. The staff during our visit was singular. We walked in when he was slammed, in he was in charge of tastings, sales, and food prep. He worked his tail off to get everyone what they needed with good cheer, and he was good at setting reasonable expectations with guests about waiting times. To his credit, the service was as good as it possibly could have been from one person filling all those roles. That said, someone upstairs should open up the checkbook and hire an extra hand. The winery itself is expansive, with a large tasting room (including two bars, in case they ever do hire that extra employee), side rooms, and an outdoor patio. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are set up to maximize the views. The whole building has a kind of neutral, HGTV, suburban McMansion feel to it. While that doesn't exactly give it much Old World winemaking charm, I can see how that makes it easy for weddings and other events to decorate the venue to match their vision. In short, Blue Valley is a lovely place to spend an hour or three on a sunny afternoon. As long as you build your expectations around that experience, you're likely to have a wonderful time.

Yelp
We came earlier this month, and spent the majority of the afternoon here. The wine tastings were not traditional in that not everyone could try several wines like a normal tasting. The views and sunset was outstanding. The wine was amazing. There was lots of space to spread out and many comfortable areas to sit both indoors and outdoors. We particularly enjoyed the area in front of the fireplace! The ambiance and views cannot be beat!!
google avatar

Aarti B.

Yelp
Stunning sunset and hillside views! Perched on top on the hill is a beautiful stone house with a spacious modern showroom, patio seating, and delicious wines. My favorite wine was the fruity dessert 2014 Remembrance wine with raspberry notes made of mostly Chambourcin (70%) and some Vidal Blanc (30%) grapes. Although the wine has 2.4% residual, it isn't sickly sweet like ice wines. So tasty that we bought a bottle! We'll have to open it up in the next few months before the residual sugar takes over and makes the wine taste funky. The 2016 Estate Muscat Ottonel wine had an interesting twist - sickly sweet aroma, but surprisingly a tart flavor. The smell didn't match up with the flavor profile. The 2014 Memories White Blend with a blend of mostly Sauvignon Blanc (64%) and some Viognier (36%) was another contender for purchase. It was interesting to taste both types of Chardonnay with grapes grown in Washington vs locally produced and home-grown indicated by Reserve. There wasn't enough grapes - hence sourcing the rest from Washington. Despite the origin of the grapes, the wines underwent the same production process aged in stainless-steel and new French oak. Although it was hard to make distinguishable difference, I preferred the Reserve. The Chardonnay and the Sauvignon Blanc whites had a strong oaky finish that I wasn't a big fan of. My hubby bought a bottle of the medium-bodied 2014 Celebration Red Blend with 49% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, 16% Petit Verdot, and 3% Syrah. I wasn't a fan of the peppery finish or the other reds. Cheese, crackers, baguette, and light finger food are offered at the winery. You won't find any food trucks or full-service kitchen here. We brought our own food and bread, and only ordered the olive oil, which I highly recommend! The Olive Oil with rosemary and herbs hit the spot! The herbs add nice flavor. As it took over 25 minutes to get the olive oil, we receive complimentary sharp cheddar cheese. The wine pourers recommend opening up the bottles within a year or so - the Remembrance wine lasts about 6 months due to the residual sugar. Only the Chardonnay ages. We bought a bottle of the Viognier back in 2015 and finally opened up today (my hubby was holding on to it the past few years for a special occasion - Vday surprise!) It still tasted okay. Would have tasted better if we opened up sooner. While the crowds flock to Barrel Oak, soak in the view at Blue Valley. Bring your picnic basket and blanket, buy a bottle, and enjoy the hillside views on the patio or cozy up in the comfy chairs.

Yelp
I really love the beautiful views you get at this winery. It sits up on a hill and has the most wonderful, serene views. The facility itself is very nice and modern, but we sat on one of the patios because it was a gorgeous day. Service was a bit limited to covid-19, but we ordered several bottles of wine and charcuterie to share. My favorite wine by far was the sparkling rose - so refreshing and the perfect amount of fruit. My only complaint is that if you want to visit on the weekend, they require you to pay in advance (I think around $60/person). That's very steep, especially for a group and especially since they aren't serving real food that you can put towards that amount. Otherwise, it's a lovely place to visit.
google avatar

Teresa L.

Yelp
Beautiful winery with great vibes. We stopped by for some after-hike rose. At the time, reservations were required - $30 per person that goes on a card you use towards your purchase. I would recommend that their staff explains the $30 is basically a minimum and not just a reservation for the table because when we called that wasn't explained at all and we almost didn't come. I'm glad we asked for clarification because Blue Valley was so much fun. Outside food is allowed so we brought some charcuterie snacks. They were also playing some great chill edm They are also dog friendly! Perfect afternoon at the winery!

Yelp
We stopped by here on a Thursday in early May. It was probably around noon. There was maybe three other groups of patrons there at the time. We ordered 2 flights of 5 wines for $17. We also ordered a cheese plate and assorted crackers. We ended up purchasing two bottles from the flight to take home. The property is beautiful with a winding steep road. Stop the hill is the tasting building with several rooms or outdoor areas that can be used for events. The building has views from every angle, large windows and doors. The owner even stopped by to chat with us about the property and the vineyard. It was a beautiful space and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
By far one of the worst experiences I have had wine tasting. Mostly due to our wine tasting server. At the beginning he seemed nice and relatively new, thanking us a lot but we were unsure why. I guess for being patient. However we had multiple issues occur and were poorly handled by him. My friend found a bug in the wine glass and the tasting glass wasn't replaced until much later after it was mentioned. The bug also appeared not be a fresh bug, because it was at the bottom of the glass. This could have been due to them catching the fly while bottling the wine. The bug was quite large and looked like it had been soaked in the wine. Instead of potentially opening a new bottle, he used the same bottle to pour a new tasting amount. My friend did not drink that new pour. Later I had also accidentally knocked my glass over and he cleaned up the spill. Luckily the glass didn't break but he just gave me a glare and didn't even offer me a substitute despite spilling majority of the tasting. We were being treated differently from the other individuals doing their tastings, and not really in a good way. Even when we obviously were done with our tasting and most everyone had left, our server didn't give us the attention or option to pay until I practically dragged him over and said I wanted the check. He just kept meandering and trying to make himself look busy. Also despite running out of one of their roses which is supposed to be included in the red wine tasting, there was no offer of a substitution and instead still charged us full price for the tasting.

Yelp
Came here with a large group this last weekend and had a lovely time. The staff was very kind and the wine was good. The views were really amazing! We were able to get some tables and enjoy a lounge area with couches. We didn't make a reservation for our group but I did let them know a group was coming.
google avatar

Chandler D.

Yelp
Great winery to spend an afternoon at! The ambiance is amazing and the views of the mountains from being able to sit inside the tasting room and have a glass or bottle is amazing! Wines are fantastic!
google avatar

Kelsey M.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning. We had the most incredible day here and we will 100% be coming back. I have added pics of all our favorite wines we tried. And don't even get me started on the hummus... SO GOOD!!!!! And the bread and cheese and meat and olive oil!!!! Oh my gosh. Everything was just incredible. I can't wait to bring my parents here when they visit!!! The staff was so nice and friendly as well which makes the experience that much better!!

Yelp
We are currently travelling in the area for vacation and randomly picked Blue Valley to stop at for a wine tasting since it was on our way to Mount Vernon. It was the only winery in the area that was open for tastings at the time we happened to pass through and we feel pretty satisfied. The building is set on a huge hill overlooking the valley and on your drive up, you get a great view of the actual vineyards. We were the first people at the winery today and had the pleasure of completing a red wine tasting with Tom. He was extremely knowledgeable about the different varieties that we tasted and had no problem getting very in depth about the science of wine and horticulture techniques used. He also provided a great summary about what makes Virginia wines different from other American wines. We ended up buying a bottle of 2015 Syrah and the pricing was very reasonable. I highly recommend checking this place out, plus, with the very beautiful interior, it is very instagrammable (if you're into that sort of thing).
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
Just ok.. the views and scenery are amazing. The vibe and red wine wasn't my cup of tea but to each his/her own. I'd stop back to try them out again but compared to other area wineries I've been to in the last year, Blue Valley just didn't hit the mark for me.
google avatar

Ericka S.

Yelp
This winery has awesome views of the surrounding hills and would be great for a sunset sip. Although it doesn't look it from the bottom of the long and winding driveway, the estate has stunning 360 panoramic views of the mountains!
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
This place is beautiful. The property sits above everything. Grapes surrounding the tasting house, surrounded by the mountains. All 360 degrees of views are breathtaking. Everyone working there was very helpful and happy to accommodate all requests. We came with a group and tried almost every wine they bottled. All were better than the next. We had a fantastic Labor Day relaxing eating and enjoying their wine!

Yelp
Hello BEST VIEW !!!!! The wine was delicious, staff is kind, 45 minutes from the Falls Church / Arlington area, you can bring your own picnic, and crazy low key... plenty of space both indoors and out.... expected to be slammed but they said they've never been big in the marketing promoting arena, despite having a hugely popular and sought out winery next door!! Dogs welcome! Great place to host a party ! I took a video but don't know how to post videos on Yelp anymore :( be sure to check it out ! No rsvp necessary!

Yelp
This is a gorgeous spot, almost the exact aesthetic I want in my home. It is roomy, sleek, and very clean. We did get meat cheese and bread to go with our Cabernet Franc. It was enjoyable but perhaps not my favorite Cab Franc. But, that depends on your palate. I'd absolutely come back to taste more but we had other places to hit so we were quick. It was a cozy seat next to a chic fire and a great way to start the day.

Kim T.

Yelp
This was always one of our favorite wineries until our visit yesterday. We love to sit outside and have always found nice tables with umbrellas at this winery. The weather was beautiful yesterday and we decided to visit the winery with our small dog. We went at opening time to find only 3 small tables on the grassy side with absolutely no umbrellas or shade. The patio side had only 2 small umbrellas that were already spoken for. We could not go inside with our dog, so we had no choice but to leave. In addition, there was a bus there, and the winery only had one server working the wine tasting/purchase area, so the line was ridiculous. The winery needs to invest in some umbrellas. I realize that umbrellas don't last long, but that is a cost of doing business if you are going to have outdoor seating. Their neighboring winery had plenty of shade and umbrellas for those that wanted to enjoy the beautiful day outdoors.

Brianna C.

Yelp
In an area that has a plethora of gorgeous vineyards, Blue Valley has always stood out. The views are astounding and the wines are delicious! Not to mention that the staff is always friendly, helpful, and attentive. Spend a day here taking in the spectacular scenery and maybe you'll see the little herd of goats in the yard!
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
In short, we bought a mixed case of wine so we put our money where our mouths are. Good stuff. As others have noted the views are OUTSTANDING. The wine is very good. The tasting choices are good value for money. The a la carte approach to nibbles was a bit of a disappointment. We would have preferred fewer more encompassing choices: a charcuterie, a cheese board, a humus board, perhaps a bread refresh. Ken, who seemed to be working alone, was very kind and even when a busload of folks showed up did not neglect us.

Yelp
Blue Valley is gorgeous. The venue is medium to large , with lots of space, great views of the mountaind and decent wines. It reminds me of a smaller Stone Tower - but with better views. Their wine isn't my favorite in the area, but I do enjoy their white wines and rose. One of the things I like about Blue Valley the most is all the outdoor space they have and the modern look of the winery itself. Their vines is fairly distant from the venue- which is kind of a bummer for those who like for the vines to be in closer proximity to the space for photos, but not that far. The staff, for the most part, has always been great. I visited one day during the summer and one of the members of the staff just wasn't that helpful, and they were out of a lot of food items. Other than that, I've always enjoyed my visits there and am actually considering a membership.

Yelp
Pretty and large tasting venue, but underwhelming wine. Tried four different wines and the only one we actually sort of enjoyed was the Cab Franc. Cover charge was required to get in at the cost of $30/person to then spend at the winery via gift cards. Not a super welcoming first impression. Live music inside is way too loud because the tasting room is all concrete and glass. Views are lovely but the wine, sadly, is not.

Yelp
I am extremely impressed with Blue Valley Vineyard - it is an absolutely stunning facility! They have several special occasion areas - each unique and beautiful. The views are awesome and the large parking area is safe and convenient. It is a bonus that special arrangements may be made for your favorite beverages, but their award winning wines and trays were outstanding.

Yelp
Blue Valley has an amazing location and nice wines. They are new-ish (opened early 2015), so while they have lots of vines planted, only some of them are producing. The rest they are getting from out of state. That said, their intent is to go 100% Virginia, so I cut them slack on the non-VA grape part. Their tastings are on the expensive side but you get plenty to chose from, so price-wise it evens out. Separate red or white tasting flights of 6 or 7 wines are each $10, or you do both for $18 (but they honor the VA wine pass, which gives you a 2 flights for 1). Bottles range from low $20s for their whites/roses, but the reds tend to be mid $30 range. Even in an area known for scene-stealing tasting rooms, Blue Valley stands out. They adroitly designed the stone mansion-like tasting room to maximize their views of the surrounding mountains, while the inside is cozy. This is not your 'rustic' farm-house tasting building; they designed it to impress, and it does. Typically I try do a blow-by-blow layout of my tastings, but during my latest visit I was more focused on socializing than taking notes! I enjoyed everything I tried, except maybe one or two of the semi-sweet wines (but those are the exceptions; they specialize in dryer wines). The standouts were the 2013 and 2014 Heritage white blends (I got mom a bottle of the 2013, although both blends were almost exactly alike). Heritage was unusually layered for a white; you really can't place your thumb on the exact notes or style, which made it a delight. For reds, while they didn't have them available this time, on previous visits I enjoyed their Cab Franc and Celebration red blend. Both are on the pricy side (and I think made from California fruit) but I loved them. I'm now looking forward to their Petit Verdot!

Yelp
Went here a couple months ago while my friend and I were vineyard hopping. We probably wouldn't have came upon this place if it wasn't for the previous vineyard that we visited. Blue Valley Winery had a long road leading up to this very nice-looking establishment on top of the hill. We knew that once we got to the top that the view would be amazing! Boy, were we right! We visited during an early afternoon weekday so it wasn't crowded. You enter through these nice doors and into a large room! I wasn't sure if it was brand new at the time, but they didn't have much furniture. It was really empty, but the interior was very beautiful! As you enter, you have large party rooms on either side. Further in is the tasting room along with a small section for sitting. I can definitely see a large party here or even a wedding! Since we already had a tasting from another winery, my friend and I just decided to get a glass of red along with a charcuterie board. Let me tell you, the food setup was great! They didn't have a large selection, but what they had was just enough to accommodate our wine. As we sat in the seating area, we were presented with an amazing view! It was a little cloudy that day but seeing the mountains, hills, and trees made the whole experience just relaxing. While we were there, they also sold fudge! Yes, FUDGE! And of course, we all know that chocolate is a really nice pairing with wines. For my overall experience, I really enjoyed it here! The atmosphere was relaxing, the food was great, and the wine was awesome! If you're in this area definitely seek it out. It's worth the drive up.

Yelp
The winery views were great! Extremely clean, serene and best of all, no dogs inside! I loved this aspect as I'm allergic. Already planning my trip back.

Yelp
This place is awesome. So scenic, new place but with some charm. It's nestled on top of a hill and it's breezy and sunny. Has a big indoor areas and two smaller indoor areas on with side as well as two outdoor areas on either side. They just opened up three years ago but I believe the vines were started almost 16 years ago. Kids and pets are welcome. Tastings are reasonably prices and the reds are my favorite. They have events and you can book the place for private events too. They also have food (small bites, cheeses, etc.). Will definitely be returning. Staff is great too, one person on their staff was exceptional. They open at 11:00am and close at 7:00pm in the summer, all other times at 6:00pm but sometimes they close early due to weddings so check their website before going. Had an awesome time, great start to my Mother's Day weekend.

Yelp
Love the venue ... modern, spacious and the wine isn't bad either. Love the view of the mountains too
