I went in just after opening on a Saturday morning, looking for a nice but reasonable breakfast that also involved a huge pot of tea. I was absolutely not disappointed. Although the place is quite small, and I'm sure can get quite busy, when I went, there were many tables to choose from. The waitress/barista was on her own, and very apologetic about the delay in taking my order (she was busy making drinks for the group in front of me). Once I ordered, it only took a few minutes for my tea to arrive, and only a few more for my breakfast. The tea was wonderful-- a whole pot of earl grey-- and the French toast (Bluebelles' Mess) was fantastic. It's a croissant French toast served with creme fraiche and bananas. The portion was just right for me, and reasonably priced for London at 7,50.
In sum, this is a wonderful little neighborhood gem at the (blissfully) quiet end of Portobello Road, with excellent food and friendly service. I will absolutely be going back!
