"The Eurasia owners turned the Sunset Valley location into a location of its other mini-chain Bluefin. The ramen menu is similar, including the Back 2 Classic (a light chicken broth), Curry Coz (creamy curry chicken broth and mozzarella cheese), a lamb iteration with pork broth, and more. There are other locations in Lakeway and Round Rock. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

Yelp
Lunch at Bluefin is a dream. $17.5 for two rolls and a house salad with wasabi dressing. It was probably one of the best sushi experiences I've had in austin. The fish is extremely fresh, the service is incredible and the place itself is very aesthetically pleasing. I live in south austin and have always stayed within the 15 minute range for food but I regret it now! Truly no complaints from this experience. Came here for a lunch with a friend who is new in austin and he left extremely satisfied and looking forward to new foodie outings.

Yelp
We were here on a Saturday evening and the had a musician playing live music which made the atmosphere feel so cozy. The food is amazing! I had the Scottish Poke which had the perfect blend of flavors. They also have great Ramon and sushi, so there's something for everyone. Will be back here again for sure!

Yelp
The sushi and ramen here are great! They have two dishes served on fire-we got the 620 roll! It's a bit on the sweeter side but I love the taste of it combined with savory items such as the Tan-Tan ramen. Can't miss out on the classic fatty salmon nigiri! We also got eel. Philadelphia roll was alright-the size of the cream cheese was massive compared to the rest of the sushi. They have live music inside too, which is lovely!

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious. You'd be a fool not to order the beef rib ramen which is absolutely delicious with the perfect amount of spicy and includes a huge beef rib. For sushi , the bluefin lakeway roll is absolutely delicious and includes spicy tobiko sprinkled on top . Service is friendly , fast and definitely helpful. I wanted to order a spicy tuna hand roll, but it wasn't on the menu so I ordered a regular hand roll and the employee at the counter. Let them know that I wanted a spicy tuna hand roll instead. I really appreciated his help and he was very nice. Ambiance is clean and interior is wood and minimalistic.

Yelp
4 stars for the ramen 3ish for sushi Just moved to Dripping Springs 6mos ago from Long beach ca. We REALLY miss ramen. Saw this when we were making our tj maxx, michaels run over spring break... its always ramen time. Came here on a Monday night around 8ish after local Baseball practice. Place was 3/4 full.. good sign. Got seated right away. Service was ok.. friendly but not super attentive.. had to waive them down if we needed things. Beer on tap cheap. Yes! All ramen served piping HOT thank you! Black tonkotsu 14.00 ramen.. price on point for what you get.. Pork was silky... the right texture. 6min egg delish. Other ramen garnishes fresh and authentic. Thin ramen noodles interesting... not your typical west coast sun noodle type but good texture.. almost like a firm somen noodle? Spicy tonkotsu is where its at for me. Just the right amt of heat that you can still slurp to the bottom of the bowl. The ramen broth had just the right amt of fat... sometimes the broth at some places are soo rich you cannot enjoy the entire bowl.. not here. A nice balance! The sushi rice was't seasoned.. weird. Roll we had was forgettable for me.. Maybe just an off night? Not sure if I try it again.. im pretty picky with my sushi. Id prob stick to Uchiko for that level and experience for the fish. Id be back for the ramen and beer on tap for sure! You should come and check it out yourself..

Yelp
Randomly stopped in for dinner. We almost left, and when we opened the door, we saw this guy playing electric guitar on high. The host stated it was not as loud in the back of the restaurant as it was at the front. We decided to give it a try. My husband recently got back from Japan and really wanted Ramen. He ordered the Fire Bowl and stated it was good. The sushi was ok. Some I liked some I didn't. You never really know how a place makes things until you try it. Nothing was terrible. The place is odd to me. There are high tables, live music, and a large bar area on top of a sushi bar. It is like trying to make a wide audience happy. I would stop by if back in the area.

Yelp
Was very hopeful for this sushi spot based on other reviews. We sat at the sushi bar and service was quick. The miso soup was a 10/10. Great flavor and a good portion. Sushi we ordered was ok. The blue crab crunch roll was rather bland and a little disappointing. Ordered the TX Wagu Roll based on other reviews and it had a bit more flavor but because they touch the top, you can definitely taste the torch which takes away from the other fresh flavors. Also ordered the spicy scallops and it came in a big roll, with a good amount of scallops, but it definitely wasn't spicy. We would maybe give this place another chance if it weren't for the staff in the back kitchen eating sushi rolls with their bare hands and not seeing a single person wash their hands before going back to the floor. The guy that was packing to go orders and plating the cooked food was consistently eating with his hands and packing orders at the same time, never washing his hands. He would also come to the sushi bar and talk with the sushi chefs with his bare hands on their work space (again, unwashed and un-gloved hands after eating several times). The lack of hygiene we saw and the bland flavors really disappointed us.

Yelp
I had the curry ramen and the veggie tempura. It was great. The place was full at lunch and the service was perfect

Yelp
I had a really filling dinner here. Service was extremely prompt and food came out really fast! The place was packed on a Thursday. I was surprised how fast we were seated without a reservation. I ordered the Brussel Sprouts and spicy crispy tuna rice, which is such a huge portion for a starter ($13) the portion is enough to be shared or eaten as a main. It has really unique flavoring as it is topped with strawberries which adds another layer of sweet freshness.

Yelp
We came in today because we were craving sushi. We both got miso soup which came out fast and hot and it was delicious. Then we ordered a couple nigiris, all of which were just okay, nothing mind-blowing - they all kinda tasted the same. I want to come back and try their ramen because we have friends who swear it's the best ramen in South Austin.

Kate Z.

Yelp
I came back because the ramen was so good. The Curry Moz was a risk but a really tasty surprise. The melted mozzarella made the broth thick and creamy. The meat was oddly sweet but there wasn't much of it. If you like broth and noodles, this is the dish for you! Our server was nice and checked in from time to time. Though it was busy, the food came out fairly promptly. The place itself was also a nice restaurant with tame music and normal temperature. It was nice to have hot ramen on a chilly evening. I wouldn't get the maki roll again, but I'll be back for ramen!

Bhagyashree B.

Yelp
Food, service, ambience, everything was perfect. The fried tofu and chicken skewers appetizers were fresh off the grill, hot and loaded with the house soy sauce. Tasted yummy. Ramen is my go to comfort food during the winters and it did not disappoint. The vegan ramen bowl was piping hot and delicious and comforting. Portion sizes are slightly smaller than other ramen places. They even had holiday live music as entertainment during the weekend, the restaurant was decorated for the holidays, it really was a great vibe. Our server was attentive, quick and friendly.

Yelp
We came here again last night and had another good experience! We showed up without a reservation and were seated right away, which was nice. Coco was our server and he did a good job taking care of us. As for the food, it was awesome! I got the chicken teriyaki bento box this time which was very good, and my fiancé enjoyed her TX Wagyu roll. We both shared the blue crab crunch roll. Another fun experience here. We will be back!

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing! the service was decent and the company was even better!

Kristal O.

Yelp
I don't know if it was just because it was a Wednesday, but the line from my son was "At least the ice cream was good." Service wasn't bad, but it wasn't necessarily good either. Lots of people running around and barely stopping at the table yet it wasn't busy. Ambiance made it feel I was sitting in a mall cafeteria. Even just having all the napkins and forks, etc. in a table caddy felt cheap and the prices were not cheap! Due to the price I was expecting a little better. The roll I got one of the fish looked/tasted like it was on its last day and almost sort of gelatinous. The ramen lacked the flavor I was expecting but at least it was better than the roll.

Glenn R.

Yelp
We love Japanese cuisine and finally noticed this place (online). It's a nice, casual atmosphere. Parking at this large shopping center is easy and that's nice. The restaurant was pretty busy, which is always a good sign. We each ordered a bowl of Ramen and were going to share one of their specialty rolls. They brought one bowl of Ramen that was huge. I asked them to cancel the other order but bring us a second bowl. We split it up and it was good! The pork broth was tasty but not nearly as rich as we're used to. The pork was a small pork chop, tender and very tasty. All the other ingredients were excellent too and neither of us could completely finish our half a portion. We had a Brodie Roll which was huge too. It had spicy tuna and salmon on it with avocado and crunchies. It was very fresh and tasty as well. Because we shared the Ramen it was a very reasonable meal. We'll definitely be back and know to share a Ramen dish next time.

Emily B.

Yelp
Highly recommend ! Food was delicious but even more so the people who helped me with the order were awesome. I accidentally ordered to the wrong location and they made my order quickly. Offered me water and things while I waited. Just truly wonderful customer service and I am very grateful.

Ashli W.

Yelp
Always fantastic. They were out of uni so they gave me a gorgeous piece of salmon belly nigiri with crab, avocado and tobiko. Always phenomenal reasonably priced. Great ambiance as well as excellent service every time.

SeaKyle C.

Yelp
Bluefin Sushi Bar and Ramen offers a delightful culinary experience with delicious sushi and a must-try Tetsu Red ramen. The service is attentive and friendly, with the added convenience of having napkins, straws, and utensils readily available on the table. The ambiance on a packed Friday night with music sets a lively atmosphere, making it ideal for small to medium groups looking for a vibrant dining experience.

Rene V.

Yelp
I was scared showing up late on a Sunday, but when we turned the corner business was bumping; seats were filled and food was flowing. We sat at the bar within minutes we had tons of food. Super fast service.

Betsie R.

Yelp
I'm not really sure why this place is so highly rated. I was told this was one of the best places to get ramen in Austin, however I disagree. The ramen lacked flavor and was nothing special. The sushi looked amazing in the photos, but I felt that it was on the chewier side and not fresh. Both rolls lacked flavor too. Also, the prices are outrageous. I left very disappointed and upset I spent $90 on food that was way below average.

Anna R.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for lunch yesterday and I was absolutely blown away. The customer service was great, the restaurant and bathrooms were clean and the food was excellent. We were sat quickly and didn't wait long for our drinks or food. I'm not exactly a sushi snob but I appreciate good quality sushi and seafood. My expectations were low since it's in a shopping center but holy cow everything tasted fresh and flavorful! We both got the lunch roll specials which came with salad (ginger dressing was divine) and miso soup. The rolls were bigger than I expected but for the price it was perfect! We will definitely be retuning and I will be raving about this place to every fellow sushi lover I know!

Raquel C.

Yelp
Food was delicious and fast. The service was friendly and prompt to refill our drinks. The ambiance is casual. Second time being here, and it was better. My parents were visiting from out of town and they really enjoyed it, especially since we weren't having to deal with the hustle and bustle of the holiday crowd due to location. Definitely worth visiting!

Kristi R.

Yelp
I have only had the lunch specials but they are always quick and friendly service. Usually too much food for me to eat for a lunch special. Some of my favorite rolls in south Austin.

Gurpreet L.

Yelp
I'm going to start off with a contradiction: I'm a vegetarian and I love sushi. I know what you're thinking but please let me eat my vegetables in peace. We came here for lunch on a Saturday after we had finished shopping in the area. I wasn't particularly sold on coming here but because my partner was getting hangry, we had to eat something ASAP. He ordered ramen and I tried some of their vegetarian offerings. I did not enjoy my rolls. They tasted off and just weren't what I needed them to be. The buddah roll in particular was disappointing and the tempura was soggy and falling apart. There's tons of great sushi places in town but I can't say I can recommend this one

Little M.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood sushi spot. Reasonably priced and the service was great. We loved the Maguro Poke and the Dragon roll with Unagi, but all the Nigiri we ordered was a little dry. I suspect the fish were either pre-cut or not stored properly. We'll be back to try the Ramen.

Nancy G.

Yelp
This place was really good. Started off with the calamari, good crispy flavor, fried part breaks apart easily. Wish they gave us a bit more tartar sauce, so good! The wagyu in the roll was a bit chewy but the other ingredients made up for it, so much flavor! Definitely liked the shrimp tempura more, you can't go wrong with that. Banana Tempura is a must!

Kelsea K.

Yelp
...so good we went back 2 nights in a row?!? YEP! On a random Sunset Valley shopping trip, we were out past hangry o'clock, and began looking for dinner possibilities. I knew the Chipotle next door existed, but when we half-heartedly glanced in it's direction, lol and behold: is that a new restaurant?!? Indeed, 'twas! We got seated immediately & we ordered drinks. Then, a few of the small hot plates. Then, some sushi. Not a dud in the bunch! Literally the following evening, I had to return to the area and we purposefully came back here because there's just such an extensive menu, you'll need many visits to try it all! That second night, we got all-new dishes, and more happy bellies! The service was warm and friendly as well. We're very happy that there's a south location of this gem! Flaming VIP was served on fiiirrrreee... But was a bit too saucy for me. Flavor was OK, but the roll isn't very pretty once they open the foil tent... I enjoyed the Brodie roll a lot more! All the hot plates we tried across both meals were great, but some of the calamari was on the chewy side (and it was quite salty), and the avocado bomb had such thick avocado that it needed to be a bit riper in that presentation, but all the flavors otherwise were overall quite enjoyable. All our cocktails were tasty, and I particularly enjoyed the spicy tuna crispy rice, including the thinly sliced strawberries that dotted the top of the generously ample crispy rice cakes. The ramen wasn't as good as Tatsu-ya, but I wasn't expecting that to contend... But I did notice some vegan options, plus if I wanted sushi but my kiddo wanted ramen, I'm betting this would work just fine (and/or to dine with alternative eaters)! We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Long time no visiting, I was super busy with work lately so it's been a long time I have coming back to Blue Fin! Tonkotsu red as always, no kikurage, added corn. Nigiri regular, replacing roll to some extra white fish sushis (same for salmon and shrimp). Pineapple cream soda is refreshingly good as always. Another enjoyable good quickie for lunch

Sarah M.

Yelp
The food was Yummy, fast and very friendly service! Would definitely recommend My husband got the ramen and enjoyed it!

Christina H.

Yelp
I ordered one of their classic rolls, the Negihama-Toro Roll (Bluefin fatty tuna, yellowtail & scallions), along with 2 of their signature rolls: Mr. Orange & the Bluefin Special Roll. The Negihama-Toro *thumbs up*. The fatty tuna is what makes this basic roll superior. I got a bit more adventurous this time by grabbing 2 of their signature rolls, which run about $20/roll. Mr. Orange: the salmon on salmon was what was calling me, but I should have ignored the call after realizing this roll was fried. It's literally buried under a pile of tempura flakes, and even after passing the mountain of tempura flakes, the roll itself is fried. SUPER DENSE, if this is something you are looking for. Bluefin Special Roll: This roll was amazingly refreshing. Yellowtail, avocado, and jalapeños, topped with bluefin tuna, escolar, and a spicy ponzu & habanero sauce YUM! We also ordered a variety of sushi pieces (or nigiri), which were not incredibly the most delectable pieces we've had, excluding the white fish with fried garlic pieces on top, which was exceptional.

Mimi B.

Yelp
Service was quick and the ramen was uhhhmazing! Definitely better than the other popular ramen places in downtown that charge extra for spicy levels LMAO (iykyk).

Allison M.

Yelp
Dumplings and the Brodie Roll were great! I got the 2 classic roll lunch which was good for the price of $15 but I would say the rolls are pretty average.

Zoly N.

Yelp
Bluefin Sushi Bar and Ramen offers high-quality foods and a pleasant atmosphere. The sushi and ramen dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients, ensuring a delicious and authentic taste. The restaurant's ambiance is inviting, with a modern and clean design that creates a comfortable dining experience. The staff is attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout the meal. Whether you are a sushi lover or a ramen enthusiast, Bluefin Sushi Bar and Ramen is a great choice for a satisfying meal in a pleasant setting.

Cameron Q.

Yelp
For a sushi and ramen place, it was good. I got the Tonkotsu ramen - black. The broth was not too creamy for me; however, there definitely flavor to it. The noodles were great. The disappointing thing was the pork belly was too thick. It was sliced a bit thinner. It would grab some of the flavor to it. It was too thick for me to enjoy the ramen. Overall, I think they are authentic but not as good as other places I've been to.

Eliza R.

Yelp
Sushi was delicious and prices were very reasonable! I loved the Philly roll and the yellowtail was delicious as well. The chicken karaage bowl is a pretty good value too. Sushi tasted fresh so we will be here again for sure!

Desiree A.

Yelp
Sushi was absolutely amazing!! So good that we went again before I could review it so the pictures are from two visits! I'm terrible with remembering roll names but just know that we haven't had anything we didn't like. If you go with others I would recommend ordering some hot small plates like spicy tuna crispy rice. It was to die for and I loved the flavors and crispy textures. The mini Bella spring rolls were yummy as well. Both too much to eat on your own but perfect to share. Then of course order a roll or two to share. I had the bento box the first time I went and it was nice during lunch because you get to try a little of everything (half roll, teriyaki chicken, salad, etc. on your own (with soup if dining in). My son also got the fried ice cream which he ate up! So go try it already! ;)

Ari T.

Yelp
We have been multiple times. One of our favorite restaurants in South Austin. My kids love to come too! The spicy karaka is my usual order, but we have had almost all the ramen and they are all delicious. We have had the bento boxes and they were well served. Haven't tried the sushi yet, mostly because we always order ramen and we are too full to eat anything else. The staff is friendly, bathrooms are clean. Typically have sports playing by the bar, which we like. We will be back many times more!

Sherry L.

Yelp
I had never heard of this place but was craving ramen and this place popped up. Austin has a decent ramen scene now but not great. But this place's ramen was so so good! Ive been here about a dozen times now and it's my go to spot for rolls and ramen. Everything is good and the service is spot on. They get the food out super quick! The ambiance was a little chaotic on Friday nights because they had a live singer playing even though it's a pretty small venue. But all the other times Ive gone the vibes are always good- not usually too loud. Definitely check this place out! Haven't tried a single thing I didn't like! And they have a full bar too and serve good drinks!

Kim G.

Yelp
Stopped here after a rather "cold" bike ride and the Tonkotsu Black Ramen hit the spot!! The broth was perfect, noodles were good and pork chasu was plentiful. The ajitama wasn't as perfect as I've had in other places but pretty close. Service was excellent. Staff was very attentive. The vibe was great and seemed family friendly as well. It's a hidden gem! The sushi & sashimi plates that other guest were ordering looked amazing. We'll have to come back to try those.

Karen Q.

Yelp
Quite a good option for ramen or sushi in South Austin. It's located in a large shopping plaza so lots of parking available. I ordered the Red Tonkatsu ramen which seems to be a spicy blend of the common tonkatsu ramen. The broth was orange with hot oil, but the broth was not too spicy at all. Lots of veggies (menma, kikurage, scallions) which I particularly enjoyed. The pork chashu was just okay, I prefer it be more charred yet tender. The ajitama was excellent! Price was reasonable ($15) based on the portion size.

Heather D.

Yelp
Popped in on a whim for early Mother's Day lunch. Hostess and wait staff weren't overly friendly, sushi was okay.

Michaela P.

Yelp
Adding that 5th star after several visits. Food, service, and ambiance are all spot on every visit. The ramen is great. Avocado bomb is a must order - every visit! Bento boxes are generous and delicious. All of the sushi is awesome. Try the Brodie roll.

Emin S.

Yelp
Admittedly I always get the same thing here but it's so good I don't really want to explore. I love the Chicken Katsu Bento Box and the spicy tuna rolls. Every time I go they greet me warmly get me a nice table. The dining space is large, clean, well lit, plenty of seating options. The food is great. The service is great. This is s great neighborhood restaurant.

Elies S.

Yelp
Let's keep this short and sweet. We were looking for somewhere to eat during a weekend back in Austin while house hunting. With the high reviews and it being a Friday we didn't have high hopes of getting in but we only waited a few minutes. Everything is tasty and we can't wait to come back!!

Christine C.

Yelp
The ramen hit the spot! It's so good.. the killer beef broth is very creamy and the meat is tender that just fell off the bone, maybe worth ($20) for the price???? We also ordered Tempura Bento box, but the 2 shrimp tempura were a bit too small, but overall is good plate to try.

Med F.

Yelp
The ramen was good but the rest of the appetizers and rolls were nothing to write home about. Very disappointed with the food given that I tried it out a year ago and was good.

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Food is fresh and tasty. Nice portions as well. Service is groups service, you will not have one server you will be blessed by the entire staff. They all work well together to make sure their patrons are not left wanting a single thing. The vibe is chill, casual, good for a quick lunch or dinner.

Elyse M.

Yelp
The sushi here is really good! The vegan options are plentiful and delicious. I've had a couple rolls, the cowgirl is good, it's like a sushi burger! The vibe is really cool and staff is friendly and helpful. They also have happy hour all day Sunday! Perfect spot for a date night or just a meal in general.

Katherine S.

Yelp
I am so pleasantly surprised by this place! I had mid expectations bc I'm so picky with my ramen but this place is bomb. I got the miso hot with black oil added and I got thick noodles instead of the thin. It was super good. My bf got the spider roll and he loved it and got some shishito tempura and calamari. Everything was really good. We got their new drink. I think it was called the fiesta. It had so much tequila I can't remember what it was called lmao. super fun ambiance and very sweet service. Jessie was our server and she was super sweet and super fast and kind. Def recommend
