Never in my life have I shad such slimy and super fishy tuna; not only in taste but in odor as well. I ordered medium rare for the tuna as well, and it was ice cold rare seared. The food server walked away before I could even get one word out. The matzo ball soup was in desperate need of salt/ flavor. The little bit of chicken in it was very tough and stringy. I paid and left, I will not be back.

Stopped here today to try it for the first time and I didn’t like it. Food needs more flavor it’s very meh. The blueberry white chocolate cake pudding was very bad with a very eggy taste. We didn’t want to say anything so we asked for a box.

Google
A quaint little eatery in a quaint little town. The menu leans more towards the seafood lover but there’s something for everyone. I had one of the most unique interpretations of Chicken Parmesan with an equally unique twist to French Onion Soup. The quality of the food is top notch and the portions were extremely generous. These characteristics are matched with exceptionally reasonable prices. It had a very “farm to table” quality of food. Service was prompt, courteous and pleasant. There was more than sufficient wait staff for the regular stream of patrons. It’s always a sign of a good restaurant when there is a steady stream of customers. Overall it was a great place? Small enough to be intimate but not too small to be crowded. The restaurant was clean and well maintained and very comfortable. It’s definitely on the list of future destinations for us.

We came to Blue Plate for the first time for the recent "Totally Tomato" dinner. Excellent choices on this special menu to choose from. Our selections were delicious. My husband and I tried each other's choices as we went along. We will definitely be back (often) as we are moving to Mullica Hill soon!

Google
A nice place in Mullica Hill for brunch with both indoor and ample outdoor seating. There are some seats outside in the front although a lot in the back - both areas covered so no need to worry about sun or rain. The inside is quite nice with a country feel and at least when I was there country music too. The menu is not vast but very good. Portions are large and service was great. I enjoyed my buffalo chicken Cobb salad. And saw the breakfast with others there and that looked great too. There is parking in the rear of the building.

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose blueplate for Harrison Township in Gloucester County (aka Mullica Hill), our 156th town. We popped into blueplate for breakfast, where we discovered this beautifully decorated mom & pop brunch place in a historic building. "Blue" is the theme and you'll see a lot of that color accenting the various decor. Service was great, and so was the food! We were a party of 4 at this stop, which allowed us to explore more of the menu, including: Chicken & waffles, Colorado omelet, Brioche French Toast, Eggs & Bacon. We highly recommend visiting blueplate, and then taking a walk around the village of Mullica Hill where there are some nice shops to enjoy.

Google
Blue Plate is our favorite local breakfast spot. The bananas foster french toast and pancake wrap are the best. The specials always have a great variety and revolve around what's "in season." This restaurant is proud to be farm to table.

Google
Nothing to write home about. Came around on a weekday for lunch. Service was attentive but slow. The food was good but nothing exciting. The Salmon Bistro is overall a good dish but I wasn’t sure about the sauce selection. I found the Brussels Sprouts dish to be too creative with tomatoes and rice, but the actual Brussels was cooked just right. It’s also overall reasonably priced and good vibes. In sum, nothing too exciting nor terrible.

Yelp
Well, I pretty sure where I was going to the blue plate on Main Street. My GPS told me that I had reached my destination and I saw the big sign that said BluePlate. It was a pleasant location and I waited for my dining partner standing outside an older looking building, which I thought was a nice venue for a restaurant. But, then I saw my dining partner's car turn into a driveway or street or parking lot. a few buildings down from where I was. Surprise. surprise they were going to the right location. I just parked in the extra parking lot. not the greatest start to an evening's dinner. However, once I discovered the real restaurant, I found that we were eating at a quaint quality dining location. the menu was interesting with some very simple choices. However, I was disappointed to find out there was no soup of the day just french onion and their matzah. Service was prompt and friendly, which you always want when you dine out. Well that was until we were encouraged to leave because reservations were coming in (We had finished dining And we're just conversing so it was not that troublesome that we were basically told we had a couple of minutes to get out of the restaurant.). Our dinner options were a salad and pasta, I chose the small portion of pasta based on the waitress's recommendation and she was right. The food was all really good, which will probably lead to a return visit. The Blueplate appears to offer many interesting options with music and other activities. So kudos to them.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner last week. I've always drove by and wondered what the experience would be like. This is how it went. I had a cup of French onion soup to start which was overly salty and seemed like it was cooked last week. I thought, can't go wrong with a burger, wrong again, burger was very hard the Flyers could've played with that rock. My granddaughter had the chicken tenders, sorry tender, which was so-so. My wife had the shrimp salad twice, once at 7:30 at the table, and again at 2:30 in the morning in the bathroom. I hear the breakfasts are good, But for dinner, I guess I'll just drive-by.

Yelp
Was looking forward to trying this place. Unfortunately it was an underwhelming experience. Line was long but moved. Old place with some charm. Server was very nice and food came out in timely fashion. I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese on top. Server said chef would not do that but I could have it more like an omelette. Evidently she was told that it would not be cooked properly or some stupid reason. I say stupid because I always ask for my eggs that way and never a problem at any other place. Got turned off by that statement. Then my toast came burnt so that was second strike for me. Server asked if we wanted onions on our potatoes which we both opted for. My onions were burnt but not my wife's. Strike 3. Food taste was average so for that reason I won't return

Yelp
After being a longtime customer, I noticed they posted a photo of tomato's with a grown in Canada sticker. I mentioned that NJ is the garden state. Especially as they were advertising tomato farm to fork meals. Sure maybe it was an error caused by their social media person. Which means it was not my fault! In turn I was blocked from their Instagram account that I have followed for years! You have surly lost a custom

Yelp
Great local restaurant in Mullica Hill. Convenient location and parking. Food is well-prepared and creative.

Yelp
Food is always delicious at Blue Plate!!!! The chef is always creating new dishes while the favorites stay on the menu. Be sure to check out their seasonal specialty dinners. All food is fresh! The service is always exceptional. The interior is very comfortable and plenty of parking in the rear, or additional lot a one minute walk away.

Yelp
After four years since our last visit we decided it was time to give them another try. First step is finding parking. The main lit was full and on the street was filled. The sign said go up the street to an alternate lot. We found parking there but were concerned the place would have a wait. We walked in and were shown to a table no wait. It seams that in the last few years they extended the dining areas. Great service from several servers. Coffee as soon as we were settled. Refills before we were at 1/2 . Nice new menu with interesting choices. I tried the waffle eggs Benedict. Gloria had the brioche French toast. They offered her the option of a full plate or 1/2. The 1/2 was two full slices. She chose 1/2 and was happy she did. Very happy we returned and plan to return again.

Yelp
We came in on a Saturday and we only had less than a 10mins wait! This place is bigger than it looks on the inside. We were seated upstairs for breakfast/lunch. THE WINGS were my favorite easily. The dry rub and the ranch was sooo good. The ranch tasted homemade. The fries were huge and the chicken sandwich was too. Two of us went home with left overs. Our server was very sweet and the menu is easily marked with GF items. It's nice to have a menu that delineates gluten free items without having to ask.

Lisa D.

Yelp
I have not sampled everything on the menu, but everything I have had has been excellent! Their breakfast eggs and home fries are very good, and I have had both their Mac and cheese and the turkey Waldorf sandwich for lunch, both amazing!! The turkey was perfect, on raisin bread with sliced apple, spinach and a special mayo, really good. Their Mac and cheese comes as a little loaf with a crispy crust and it is wonderful. The ambiance is very homey and comfortable, good parking lot, and our waitress was efficient and helpful. I have always had a nice time there, and next want to try dinner.

Cat W.

Yelp
You must get the turkey Waldorf sandwich. Freaking amazing!!! Food is fast and service is excellent. Can't wait to go back!

Linda H.

Yelp
the food was good we had burgers . I was surprised they charged for cheese 1.00 tomato and lettuce .50 each. no fries or chips on the plate. THey are extra too! This is cheaping out by the restaurant !!!!
google avatar

Khyla L.

Yelp
Our waitress, Carissa was so attentive and sweet! We ordered a Cannoli French toast for the table, I had the peach pancakes and an off menu side of spinach, mushroom, and goat cheese which came out perfect! That peach pancake was gigantic, lightly sweet and had a wonderful balance of fluffy and crisp.

Yelp
This place is so good! My sister is gluten free and they had great choices to pick from. I loved the breakfast poutine, highly recommend trying it out! My sister got an omelette and my boyfriend got the buttermilk chicken sandwich. The sandwich had good flavor but it was a little dry. They had tons of seating, we had awesome seating, upstairs near the window. Our server was super sweet. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on a cold rainy day. Place was very busy. We had to ask for our server so we could order our meals. We sat downstairs which would have been fine but on such a cold day the opening and closing of the back door made for a chilly experience. The matzoh ball soup was good with overflow of chicken. The Buffalo chicken in the wrap could have been crispier and the fries a little more cooked.

Betty Ann D.

Yelp
Food was very good and fresh. Help was very friendly. Coffee was delicious. I would recommend you give them a try.

Kim M.

Yelp
Misses the mark. Tries to be more than it's capable of. Dishes sound good on the menu but the execution of the dish never translates. Overrated, overpriced, I think the only reason it does business is because of its ideal location and a lack of any competition.

Yelp
My wife and I were eating at this place Sunday (April 27, 2025) when a most disturbing incident occurred right in front of us. Two young waitresses were setting a table when the owner/manager suddenly grabbed one of the waitresses by the shoulder, yanked her around to face him and proceeded to curse and berate her for apparently not following his instructions. We were APPALLED at this person's demeanor toward his employees. The girl who was accosted was visibly shaken while the other just stood there in fear. Who was this fool to do what he did to his employee? I can only hope she filed assault charges on him. Rest assured, we will NEVER go back to this place again AND NOR SHOULD ANYONE as long as this guy is still in charge. Absolutely SHAMEFUL!!

Yelp
The crabs were good. Service was quick no complaints.reasonably priced.first time there can't think of anything else

Kathleen B.

Yelp
We have eaten at Blue Plate often over the years, the menu is always interesting, often a nice twist on a dish. The only complaint/observation is that most restaurants include a side of fries or chips with sandwiches; Blue Plate charges for these and doesn't even out a garnish on the plate! Burgers, salmon burgers etc, just the bun on the plate. For the price fries or chips should included.
google avatar

Gina F.

Yelp
Perfect for breakfast or lunch-we go here all the time and have never had a mediocre meal!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good, busy, long wait for food! Waitress very good! Prices high! Clean, nice surroundings.

Sal C.

Yelp
Went with my siblings and significant others...10 of us. It was the worse restaurant experience I can remember. Pretty much every dinner selection on the menu had garlic and onions...so if you have allergies to those ingredients, don't go there. I was finally suggested the "special" steak... I ordered it. everyone at the table got their dinner, ate it , and I was still waiting for my steak!...wait, not over it...the steak I ordered was $128.00!! I had the steak boxed to take home. I don't blame the waitress, but the kitchen staff should be ashamed and the cook fired!

John L.

Yelp
Unfortunately would not order take out from here again. When i sat down to eat this bowl had sauce on the chicken and overall just like i guess a larger portion but this one is just not even close to the same. Very bland and disappointing i drove like 40+ minutes round trip and I don't even really wanna eat this
google avatar

Yelp
Really great home cooking! Loved the quiche / breakfast sandwich and omelets. The crumble pancakes was also great! The people were very nice and the place looked well kept. Considered knocking a star off only because they serve on white plates and have a silver plate handle on the door should be blue....

Yelp
Absolutely incredible brunch. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area, and our service was absolutely wonderful with our waitress, who was so kind. The smoked salmon flatbread was one of the best things I have ever tried in my life, as well as their chocolate chip pancakes. Will definitely be back, and cannot wait to return!

Linnaea K.

Yelp
Personable staff, range of delicious options whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and comfortable seating! I was in town for a week - and kept coming back because every experience was positive.

Yelp
Food - very good Service - very friendly and efficient Ambiance - welcoming, bright Love the atmosphere and menu at Blueplate

Yelp
We went for the fixed price 4 course Christmas Eve dinner and maybe we just should not have chosen a holiday to try this place. Some of the menu items were very good, others were cold or soggy when served, or difficult to eat because of the presentation. I wanted to be impressed, but really wasn't. In the end we spent a lot of money and pretty much everyone was hungry later. Would I go again? Maybe for breakfast; people seem to really like that but probably not for dinner.

Yelp
This has become one of our favorite spots for brunch. Parking isn't ideal, as it is usually pretty crowded and the lot can be tight, but it's worth it. Our favorite dish is the Philly Banger, which is basically a cheese omelette and scrapple layered on top of a Philly pretzel roll, topped with hollandaise. Home fries are served with or without onions ( I prefer with). We also like to order one of their speciality pancakes or French toasts in a smaller order to share. Today we went with the White Chocolate strawberry stuffed French toast. I also am a huge fan of their iced honey green tea. Now I just need to try them for dinner!

Lauren R.

Yelp
Service was great. Our waitress was so sweet. Food and coffee were delicious. Also, looks newly renovated with cute decor.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Always good food and good service. I like the outdoor seating. If you are visiting, give this place a try.

Yelp
The food at Blueplate is excellent. Have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The wait staff are very friendly. The service is good and the restaurant has a hometown kind of feel.

Yelp
Food and staff were amazing! Place was packed, but we were seated and served very well
google avatar

Yelp
The menu is unique and creative with one of my favorites including the avocado board! My four year old twins loved the breakfast board as well. Not only is the food amazing but for a party of 8 this space felt very open and non cluttered. The staff was amazing, positive and very helpful with recommendations (I was very torn between the lobster bene and the board). We'll def be making our way back. Also a plus their mimosa flight looked amazing but it's BYOC so we'll be partaking in that flight during our next visit.

Yelp
Haven't been for breakfast in a while. Got the bananas foster stuffed French toast Two single pancakes, one chocolate and one plain. They weren't as fluffy and good as a true diner pancake, a little thick and heavy. My kids didn't seem to mind. Hubs got the barnyard special, fried chicken, egg on a brioche roll. He said it was good, but a little bland. Coffee was a little bitter for my liking. 10/10 for the new patio space though! Service was good.
google avatar

Paula J.

Yelp
Had dinner at the BluePlate Everything was very good Staff was very nice and courteous. Our waitresses where attentive. We had Bistro salmon with vegetable soup, Mac and cheese, Shorttib rigatoni, corn risotto. Apple crisp Gave complimentary bread And we ordered Lobster thermador and chicken wrap to go. For everything I ordered it wasn't bad at all. The inside and outside was quite looking Quiet siting where we where at Color blue Reminds me of beach Definitely be coming back too

Yelp
Great food. Cute place. Servers were all young. Not the best but the food and environment made up for it. Definitely will be back.

Cyara P.

Yelp
Excellent salad! Extremely fresh ! I would absolutely recommend this buffalo chicken cobb salad!

Don L.

Yelp
Meh. Menu looks good but execution of what is described on the menu is average. Service is "ok". Very cold today and soup was served luke warm. French fries were very greasy. The bowl I got was overcooked and lukewarm. Sandwich was nothing to write home about. When tipping on the machine, the lowest amount is 20% (very presumptuous that they believe they provide such stellar service worthy of 20%). I've been coming here for a few years and today's food was so average that I'll be looking for another "go to" place to dine. If you're looking for an average food experience, this is your place. If you're a foodie or enjoy good to great food and service, you'll be disappointed.

Anonymous P.

Yelp
this place SUCKS! Treats the employees terribly. I heard owner screaming at workers from the kitchen. So sad. I can't stop thinking about the girl.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful farm style restaurant located in a beautiful historic neighborhood. The service was great, and the food was ok. One thing which stood out was their homemade meatloaf and egg dish....absolutely delicious.

Rich B.

Yelp
The customer service is exceptional with friendly service and food is hot and delicious. There are many wonderful breakfast items available.

Yelp
Family Meal Review: I think we can all agree it's been a long long year/years/what year is it again?! COVID-19 is still keeping us semi-locked down in 2021, and lord I miss the before times. Ok, yes I do appreciate actually spending time with my kids and being home (usually?) but I hate cooking & cleaning & cooking for 5 humans.... Every. Single. Day. End of rant, sorry, let me review the amazing deal that is the Blueplate's rotating Family Meal ($40 feeds at least 4, definitely our fam of 5 here): It rocks, you can order online and please tip.

Yelp
Hidden gem. My wife and I went for brunch. Great selection. Offer half portions. Service is spot on from start to finish. Welcoming, relaxed ambiance. A definite must try

Kristina K.

Yelp
My family has come to Blueplate many times, and always have a solid meal. A few years back I got the chickpea burger which I was not a fan of, as it was more on the burnt side, but everything else I have ever ordered has been good! My favorite thing on the menu is the Turkey Waldorf sandwich. I love the sweet and savory combination. In addition to the staples on the menu, I love how Blueplate creates many creative, seasonal dishes. Yesterday my dad tried a sandwich consisting of roast beef, peaches, and horseradish. At first he was not sure if he should order it, but our waitress told us a little more about it and recommended he try it. He ended up loving it! Finally, both the inside and outside of the restaurant is very cute and decorative. However, due to the small space of the main dining room, I find that it can get loud. Overall, if you are in the area or just passing by, Blueplate is worth a try and will have something for everyone on the menu!

Yelp
Seated outside on Fathers Day with a sunset coming down on the patio. Lots of potential for ambiance here but little attention to details. A beautiful summer evening with moderate temp, and it appears that the western facing, triple set of gleaming white French doors have never been opened this season, as they're all covered with well-aged spider webs at the bottom. Why have French doors if you're not opening them up in summer? At least clean the cobwebs for an invitation to dine al fresco. I had the chicken cheese empanadas served on a bed of field greens with a spicy Southwest sauce. The empanadas arrived way too fast to be fresh, within 3 to 4 minutes after I ordered. Not much chicken compared to the overwhelming puff pastry, or indigenous flavor, unless all you want is the spicy sauce. The plate also was too small for a good presentation, as everything was overwhelming its small diameter, to the point that you saw only two giant empanadas and a bowl of sauce, with greens sweltering underneath. The field greens appeared pre-packaged. They had not been hydrated or well inspected as several were beginning to rot. I just don't find the food here to have much flavor, and I've dined at blue plate at least three times, trying different entrees and appetizers. I'm ready to give up on this four star property with two star quality.

Yelp
Great local place that's been a mainstay in Mullica Hill for years. The food is great, service is consistently good and it's a great place for breakfast. Parking is tricky, but that's normal for Mullica Hill!

Yelp
We always eat well when we order from Blue Plate. The quality of their food is always the best. Flavorful but not over seasoned nor over salted. Every takeout order always comes out hot which seems to be a challenge for some other establishments. The place is very nice with seasonable decorations and kind of feels more like home than just a place to go for a meal. And lastly but most importantly is the staff is is exceptional. Everyone has been so nice, helpful and quick, even when they're beyond busy and the phone is ringing 45 times per minute Thank you Blue Plate for my shrimp risotto tonight, the way chef makes it is my favorite.
