Google
Work brought me to the area and I stopped by for an afternoon refuel. The location was fairly unassuming but maybe that’s just me being used to the Northwest. I found it to be a wonderful establishment juxtaposed by the dense (but neat) industrial area. Better parking and interior space than I’ve grown accustomed to around here, wonderful separation and options for seating, service was quick and they’re very considerate. Last of all but most importantly, they’ve officially taken first place for best dirty chai this side of the Mississippi. Creamy but balanced, slight anise flavor that’s just perfect if you like that. Check it out. Food menu looks great just didn’t have time.

Google
A true gem hidden in a rather industrial neighborhood! This is why I love using GoogleMaps to find places to eat when we travel: a wide selection of original salads, burgers, sandwiches, smoothies and crafted coffees and teas in a very hip setting, minutes from 95. I am writing the review so we can find this place again next time we travel this way.

Google
Great place with a mad chill atmospheric vibe. As a vegan, I make an effort to find places that accommodate the plant based lifestyle with more than salads, lol. Their vegan menu was very extensive. I felt a little cheat in me, so I ordered the vegan blueprint Phillychesse steak wrap. Which was phenomenal. My only issue was the portion size. I do feel that the wrap could've been bigger, but the taste of the ingredients made me overlook that. Well seasoned mock meat, with fresh veg inside. The fries were coo, no issues there. Lightly seasoned for an overall tasty vibe. I treated myself to the maple and also the blueberry vegan donuts. The blueberry was one point!! The maple could've been better. They should've been heated up a little more to truly let the donut melt in your mouth. They didn't hold well and became less enjoyable as time went on. But the blueberry was definitely more of the hit for me. I would definitely recommend this place, and I do plan to visit again.

Google
I wish I caught our server’s name—he was excellent! From the time I called to check if seating was available to even after dropping the check, our server was prompt, attentive, and had our entire group laughing. The food was great with many vegan options. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and it was very clean. It has its own parking lot which made everything easy. Perfect place to go if you need to be close to Newark Penn Station.

Google
I went here to celebrate my daughter’s 24th bday back in January. Me and my family had such a great time!!! It was a chill atmosphere and we were able to simply relax and enjoy ourselves. The food was phenomenal!!!!!!!! My boyfriend and I went back last weekend but we arrived right before closing and were unable to dine in. I wanted to introduce him to the establishment since he had never been. We arrived too late, but we will definitely try again another time.

Google
This place is beyond great! The customer service, the food, the environment is all 10/10. I have nothing bad to say about this place ever. The Blueprint Vegan Burger is my favorite…I love how they give you vegan cheese options or vegan sauce options too. Every time I go there I always see Ivan at the register or serving customers. He is a great part of BluePrint Cafe & I hope the owner knows that. Everything in the bakery is just as amazing as the food. I recommend this place to everyone!

Google
I got the chicken wings, they were good saucy but tasted dry. I forgot the name of the burger but it looked as amazing as it tasted! First food place we tried in Newark NJ! The service was spectacular and that’s what would bring us back.

Google
Vegan-friendly! The menu had multiple vegan options available. Portions are massive. I had the tofu scramble which was just OK - wish it had more developed flavor. I could taste the spices, but something was missing. My partner had the sausage omelet and enjoyed it. The interior is very cute and well-decorated. There is seating outdoors as well. The parking lot is right before the building and can be easily missed.

Yelp
The food is always good and they accommodate all types of dietary needs. Vegan, vegetarian and paleo too!

Yelp
Pancakes are dry as hell. The service was bad took forever to give me my plain pancakes that I paid $15 and it was not good. The wait was not worth it. I recommend pancake house in Edgewater best place.

Yelp
Truly what a sick cafe. Seems like this cafe was opened up in a previous warehouse which makes for a super cool ambiance. I came in on a Saturday morning with my brother and sister-in-law and we all unanimously agreed that this place was a hit. We had called beforehand to see if there would be a wait and the waiter who picked up the phone assured us a table would be waiting for us upon arrival, which surely it was! I ordered a dirty matcha iced latte which was made to perfection. Earthy matcha tones cut perfectly with a bold espresso with a tad of sweetness coming from the brown sugar. Food wise we got the Parma chicken sandwich, cheesesteak, and vegan chicken and waffles. Everyone was more than satisfied with their dish. And to top it all off, there was a DJ playing bops the entire time. Can't wait to come back and make my way through the menu.

Yelp
First, I will start with saying that the food is delicious. They service is great and the restaurant is clean! Although there is a nop smell. This is one of my favorite places to go to dine in Newark...until yesterday. We stopped in for lunch and was punched in the face with heat. Thick heat, which was thinned out by some air blowing. When asked what's up with the AC, we were informed that there is none. Is it broken? Down? Nope. Just no AC. It's July! How can employees work there all day in that stifling environment? We were forced to have to rush through our meal so we could get to the car to cool down. I hope management fixes this and makes an investment for the clients' comfort. I'll do take out from now on.

Yelp
Very trendy and cool decore. I would describe it as rustic-industrial-steampunky. There are concrete counters, bespoke wood tables, and a lounge corner with a bench and armchairs. The exposed kitchen adds a sense if comfort to the decore. The staff is very helpful and chill. They patiently explained the different menu options and dishes. I sampled the roasted chicken sandwich. The BBQ sauce was not the traditional southern sweet and tangy or smokey style, think more chicken curry spices. It was delectable and a hefty sandwich. The sweet potato fries were very well fried and crispy to perfection. The Sweet and Zesty salad did not disappoint either. I have no doubt their many vegan favorites are likewise expertly done and I am eagerly waiting for the next opportunity to sample from the vegan menu.

Yelp
Terrific cafe that oozes charm! Drove by on a Sunday and it was fairly empty. The food and service truly stands out. The latte was perfect to a T, and so was their sandwich.

Yelp
Every time I place an order online it's cancelled. I have attempted 3 times during different parts of the day and have even called I quoting about why it's cancelled. They need a larger staff or a staff more willing to do the work. It shouldn't be that every single time I order, it's canceled. You can't even put substitutions on there.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Very cute, cozy cafe. We came in the month of October, and the cafe was so well-decorated for Halloween. The food is just okay though. I love that they have a large selection of vegan food, and a lot of it looked very appealing. I got the Impossible Vegan Burger, which wasn't bad. The tart tomato sauce was pretty overpowering though, so scraping some of it off helped balance out the flavors. The impossible patty was juicy, and the sandwich overall was pretty filling. My friend got the Triple Burger and Mac 'N Cheese. She said the Mac 'n Cheese was plain and didn't have enough seasoning and that the macaroni was a bit overcooked and soggy. She said the Triple Burger was juicy but also could've used a bit of more seasoning. We also got some bakery items from the counter. The items looked better than they tasted, so we were a bit disappointed. - Vegan Maple Walnut Donut: Didn't taste fresh -- the donut bread tasted stale. It was very sweet though. - Vegan Bread Pudding: Flavorless. We got it with berry compote on the side, which helped a lot. Without it, it would've been very plain. There was also the option to have caramel or vanilla sauce on the side. The berry compote was not too sweet and pretty watery. I thought it was just the right amount of sweetness, but my friend thought it could've been sweeter, so maybe getting caramel or vanilla sauce on the side would've been better for her. - Pumpkin Muffin: Soft and not too sweet. The bread was on the lighter side. Tasted like it was missing something. They have many bakery goods, but nothing was outstanding. They weren't terrible, but they did leave us feeling there was more to desire. When coming here, I'd probably skip the bakery goods and just come for the decent food, ambiance, and support for a local vegan-friendly eatery.

Yelp
A brunch spot with a vegan menu?? Count me in. I don't know why I never stopped by Blueprint when I lived in Newark but I'm glad I got to visit when I did! Food was great, interior is so cute, DJ had great music going, it was a great vibe! My friends and I all got different items from their vegan menu, and I think I really liked my friends' breakfast tacos and my chicken and waffle. I really liked the "chicken" in my meal. Overall, great spot for brunch!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience here yesterday for their crab fest! The food was delicious and well-priced, the service was great, and the owner was above and beyond gracious! Highly recommend, we will definitely be back!

Xica A.

Yelp
Spacious. Indoor and outdoor option. Outlets everywhere inside. There's PARKING (the lot is next to it right before the building). Good music (I had to whip out my Shazam app). Attentive service. Ivan you're the best. Good food. Very tasty unique lemonades. For my fellow coffee free folks, there is hot chocolate. I will be back for sure!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while waiting around for an appt. Came on a Saturday. They offer takeout at the counter or dine in. Live DJ on Saturday when we arrived I ordered the Pepper Bacon Sausage Omelette which came with a slice of bread and ordered a separate side of potatoes. The omelette is huge. They do not skimp on the filling. A lot of sausage, peppers, onions and asked for light mozzarella. Well seasoned. Potato's are also seasoned and cooked well. Would've loved if there was a little more of a crisp to the potatoes. But still very good. A very extensive menu. Brunch and lunch options. The burgers looked really good. They also have vegan options. I'll definitely be back when in the area.

Yelp
Found this place by accident on a road trip and I wasn't disappointed! The tofu scramble was delicious and fresh (they literally have produce growing outside the building) and the service was great! They even had gluten free bread!

Yelp
Discovered this restaurant on a google search and I was surprised they had many vegan meals and desserts . I ordered the impossible burger with vegan cheese caramelized onions, water cress, mushrooms, homemade ketchup, homemade mayo. The burger was good . I would go back to this restaurant to try other vegan options. The restaurant is located in a industrial area with a small parking lot.

Yelp
I'm actually glad this place is not that local to my house, or they would have all of my money on a daily. What a gem! Found this place on Yelp when I was working in the area with my manager. The pics, menu, and reviews confirmed my decision to give it a try, and I'm so glad that we did! It is so easy to pass by when you're on the road, but please, do yourself a favor and slow down as you're GPS says you're nearing because it's a one way and you have to make a few turns to get back on the street. The parking lot is ahead of the actual cafe. Ok... so, after that minor mishap, I had a good vibe as soon as I pulled into a spot with a view of beautiful tomato vines. The place is adorable... great decor.. energy... high ceilings.. I loved to find out that is black owned! Spoke with the manager, Ayeshia, who I also believe may be the owner? She was friendly and gracious. They hold different evening events from time to time which are BYOB. Ok, so the menu... I was salivating at everything I saw and read. I wanted to try everything... from coffees, smoothies.... I settled on the matcha pineapple juice which was on the sweet side, but in a fabulous way! I wish I had a pitcher of this in my fridge always.. For my to go meal, I ordered a quinoa bowl.. which you can customize with your choice of protein (shrimp) and "flavor".. I picked the Asian which came with red cabbage, broccoli.. a semi sweet tangy Asian "glaze". It was tasty and plentiful.. and FRESH! But, the showstopper for me was the orange cake that caught my eye among a number of beautiful dessert options... MY GOODNESS this was some of the best cake I've ever eaten. It was perfectly fluffy...not too sweet.. with just enough of that divine orange glaze drizzled on top. I told my husband that we are driving to Newark JUST to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Blueprint is my go to place to work when I'm in Newark. Nothing better than grabbing a cup of coffee or chai and hanging out at their space. This is also a great spot for a quick lunch or snack while working!
google avatar

Yelp
Amaaaaaazing food on both sides of the menu. Really chili vibe and good service too! We got the whole wheat pancakes, tofu scramble and nana cakes. Also a smoothie and hot chocolate, all were excellent.

Yelp
Excellent place to have breakfast or lunch. The place has a nice city vibe, the service is always great.

Yelp
Gluten Free options include bowls, salads and sandwiches. Delicious food, welcoming ambiance and friendly service. This cafe has wonderful in-house made flavored lemonades. The pineapple matcha was excellent. This cafe is close to I-95, easy to park, and well worth visiting. Many vegan options too.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this amazing Gem. Amazing!! My partner and I really enjoy the whole experience. Victory was our server. She was absolutely adorable and helpful. She also made our tea really well. Her spirit was very warm and welcoming. She always came back to us with a smile everytime. The food was soooooooooo good. I'm a vegan, my partner is not. It was nice to accommodate both of our food needs/wants. Food was a 10/10. The place is a vibe. The decor is industrial/ rustic with high ceilings. They had an amazing DJ the day we went. He kept some good beats going!! I really enjoyed my time there. We will be back

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food. Lots of vegan options. Clean and cozy ambiance.

Yelp
Only searching through Yelp would I find this nice spot. It's not located near other shops and restaurants but the food and seating outside on a beautiful are definitely a plus. The sweet chick with a sidekick was very good as were the pancakes. It's definitely a big spot (a birthday party was set to begin when I left) and that Vegan treats looked really great which I would like to try next time. Worth a visit if you're in the area!

Yelp
Stopped in before heading to an afternoon movie. I've drove past several times and was intrigued by the place. Finally, we made it here. Upon arriving, we were a bit confused as to where to park. They do have a small lot but it was kind of confusing to understand where to go once pulling up due to the area being very industrial like. There was a DJ there which was pretty cool. It set a nice vibe to the place. I ordered the vegan French toast because I was craving French toast for quite sometime. It was very well made. We also got vegan Mac and cheese for the table to share and it was delicious! The texture was amazing and it was very flavorful. I am not vegan but always open to trying new things and the food was spot on. The only recommendation I have is to work on the decor of the establishment. I feel like it is going for an eclectic vibe but it comes off a bit shabby.

Yelp
After officially going there twice on a Saturday morning, I can share my honest review of the Blueprint Cafe. I love being in this space. It's warm and welcoming in a least expecting place. I drove passed it so many times and never noticed it. I supposed it likes to be unassuming. It definitely fits the vibe. The music is so good that I find myself is a fantastic mood for the rest of the day once I leave. The coffee is great. Hands down! I've had a cappuccino and a nitro cold brew. BOTH BANGING!! First time, I had Chicken and Waffles. It was delicious but different, I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Maybe too much rosemary?? Maybe too elevated?? I don't know, whatever, I still ate the whole damn thing. Second time, I had the Tofu Scramble. Beautifully presented with a great portion. LOL perhaps too much. I couldn't make a dent! Had to season it a bit but I guess its better to be a tad under seasoned than over... Am I right?! Haven't tried any desserts as of yet. Summer's coming. Im leaving out a fantastic key component of this place on a Saturday morning because I still want to be able to get in LOL! The service is very nice, however, they do take their time so sit back and enjoy the ambiance and music. This place is just really really cool. Oh, and the sun sits really pretty in here.

Yelp
Nice stop on the way to airport. Kinda funky joint. The service was very friendly and helpful We started with Buffalo cauliflower bite - very good with a kick ... my wife had salmon tacos - i had vegan sausage taco - both great Would recommend and stop back

Gavin M.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the environment! Very nice vegan menu. The food and service were great! My 12 y/o enjoyed 2 matcha lattes. He's picky, but these are delish!

Lisa W.

Yelp
A nice experience! Went for Mother's day and there was a flow of customers. If you like ginger, that ginger smoothie was everything! The vegetable omelet was flavorful and packed with veggies, delish! The gluten free waffles were tasty. What stood out amongst the food was the atmosphere, live dj playing some good music and the host/owner who is in tune. She recognized that we were not being serviced after being seated and took our order herself and provided drinks! Will definitely return with family and friends. I also like that it's a little remote. Cool atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing local spot. Open kitchen allows you to see all the goodies, as well as how clean everything is. All the employees are super nice and the food is delicious. Fairly inexpensive for the quality meals. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place and it's always a go to when in the area for breakfast. However, service is slow. I waited over 20 minutes at my table to place an order. Then my cappuccino came with no sugar. Pancakes and waffles with no syrup. Food is good, place is laid back with a retro industrial feel. Service needs to pick up. I believe they just need more people because the ladies working there are nice and courteous but may just be overwhelmed.
google avatar

A'Yanna E.

Yelp
So happy to finally try this black owned restaurant and its vegan cuisine. Everything was delicious! The dj played great tunes and service was good. I discovered this place via Instagram...through the networking events hosted here. I wanted to check the place out on a regular day to ensure the area and food were suitable for an event return. I definitely look forward to returning to check out the networking event. Go, enjoy

Yelp
I barely leave bad reviews. I was in town & stop by. Nice aesthetic place to say the least. Customer service was decent could have been better. I ordered some French toast, one was made correctly and the other one uncooked and soggy, I asked for some fresh fruit and they told they don't carry fresh fruit. They offered to re make it, but I passed because how can you mess up some French toast.. To owner you need more improvement on your food overall.. I was disappointed because I wasted my time smh I paid and left in peace
google avatar

Petra L.

Yelp
Amazing dirty chai. Not to sweet or spicy! The sweet chicken&sidekick (chicken & waffles) was solid. Loves the waffle and chicken was flavored well. A little dry but great flavor! Amazing choices for carnivores, vegans, and vegetarians!!!!!!!

Yelp
As many times as I rode pass, I never noticed this spot. I got a chance to try it today. I called in my order of vegan chicken and waffles and the lady told me it would take 20 minutes. When I arrived I parked on the street because their driveway was pretty small. I walked in and it had a cool cafe vibe. The menu had both vegan and non-vegan items. The server asked to help and I told her I was picking up. She said it was still being made and it took about 10 more minutes. I paid while I waited and it came to almost $15. When my food was done she handed me my meal and I left. When I got in I dug in. I swear I wanted to give this spot 5 stars because the food in the first few bites was excellent. I don't know what they made the waffles with but it was tasty. The vegan chicken was very good and so was the peach compote. As I continued to eat I noticed it was getting a little too sweet. It was very good but it started feeling like I was eating candy. Besides that I enjoyed everything and will return to try something new.
google avatar

Kendell B.

Yelp
Stuff French toast one of the best I have ever had. Not too sweet. Pepper bacon sausage was ok. Skillet potatoes simply but worth the price. This place is a vibe. Definitely go for some good food in a not too boring or loud setting. I could have ate there for hours. However the service is honestly meh. But food and vibe over come it
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a breakfast spot after we left the airport. We decided to try out Blueprint Cafe and we were not disappointed. They had a private parking lot so parking was convenient. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast and coffee was incredible. It was exactly what we needed after an early morning flight. We would definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
Food was delicious, not your run of the mill brunch. Spacious, fun location. Enjoyed the shrimp and grits.
google avatar

Mia K.

Yelp
I was in the area and needed a cafe to work from as well get a good cup of coffee. I was pleased to find Blueprint during my search. I will admit I was extremely skeptical because of the surrounding sights in the neighborhood but was presently surprised with my visit. Blueprint is a diamond in the rough, literally. This cafe is slightly industrial and rustic with very unique touches, fitted with its lacquered wood tables and pink metal chairs. It is a large space, great for a quick meet up with friends, working, or alone time with room to spread out. The cafe beverages were amazing! I made a bowl with shrimp, curried chickpeas and coconut rice. It was delicious and very filing. I satisfied my sweet tooth with a vanilla doughnut. The staff was welcoming and provided good service. I would highly recommend this cafe and plan to return when I am in the area.
google avatar

Ally W.

Yelp
I am not a vegan, but picked up Vegan Chicken & Waffle here, and it was pretty good. The corn waffle was naturally sweet from the corn, and the vegan chicken tasted like crispy chicken nuggets. The caramelized peaches tasted like they were from a can, but that's okay. I thought the dish was a creative version of the classic chicken & waffle. The location is in an industrious part, but there is some parking. I am open to exploring more vegan dishes now, thanks to Blueprint Cafe Lounge!
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
We love Blueprint Café for their fresh and vegan options! Very convenient to go with friends who have different diets because they have a great assortment of vegan and non-vegan items on the menu, healthy and some not so healthy but all delicious!
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
It was OK but not memorable. Great vegan options but they were out of the vegan chicken and waffles after I had paid for them. This had me scrambling to find a replacement. I got the vegan French toast with a side of potatoes. The French toast was just ok. The potatoes were ok, not crispy enough. I also got the vegan bread pudding muffin. Interesting concept but did not taste as good as I was expecting. Great ambiance and the staff was friendly and accommodating. But I would not return or recommend to others.
google avatar

Steven Jon K.

Yelp
I went for the first time to Blueprint with five friends this morning and I was very impressed with the food and the atmosphere. The location is in an unlikely industrial zone but fortunately there is sufficient parking in a lot just before you reach the restaurant. Indoors it is spacious with a comfortable modern design. The staff are helpful and the food is all prepared from scratch. I had the vegetable omelet and the tofu scrambler, and also the first smoothie which is a delicious green concoction. All of these were far above average. This is an excellent choice especially when I am on the New Jersey Turnpike or picking someone up at Newark Airport. I definitely plan to return soon.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday afternoon after taking a helicopter ride above Manhattan! The experience at the Blurprint Cafe was just as incredible! Cool vibes, live DJ, hospitality and amazing food! We can't wait to go back and will recommend to everyone!

Yelp
This is the breakfast/lunch/coffee shop I have been looking for! Chill vibe. Parking. Friendly staff. Happy customers. Delicious food. I have seen it when driving by and just had a feeling I wanted to check it out. After reading the reviews here, I decided to take a friend from out of town before dropping her off at Newark Penn Station to catch the Acela. She ordered the Pepper Bacon Sausage Omelet, Ginger smoothie and latte. I ordered the Tofu Scramble and a cappuccino. The food was amazing. We had to take a pause in our conversation to savor the flavors. I am not a vegan but appreciate vegan cuisine when creatively done with whole ingredients. I was not disappointed. She said the sausage was incredible so, not being a vegan I gave it a taste and agree. Also took a sip of the ginger smoothie ... Wow. I will be back, with friends or for a solo lunch or even a creative couple of hours with my laptop and a cappuccino.

Yelp
Food is delicious and flavorful, especially the Mac and Cheese pie (coming from my 9 years old daughter). The inside is unique with an acoustic feel. They also have a baker who bakes sweet donuts, pastries, and serves coffee too. The gentleman who served us was attentive as well. Hats off to kitchen team!!

Yelp
Let me preface this review by apologizing if what I am about to write diminishes Blueprint's unique and wonderful vibe, but this place is reminiscent of some of Melbourne (Australia's) best cafes and the kind of casual but stylish cafe experience that is often hard to find in the US. Kudos to the owners for making this happen. My God what a find! Can I give it 6 or 7 stars? Why stop at 5? From the industrial-meets-baroque decor, to the extensive and careful menu (proper Jersey sandwiches, diner staples, eggs every which way, AND thoughtful vegan) and good coffee (just needs a cortado and vietnamese iced coffee to attain perfection), this place ticks all the boxes and is worth the long walk or windy drive to get to this out of the way location. I had the pepper sausage omelette and a whole milk latte before settling in with a book. I plan to make this my weekend spot! It's worth the epic walk from Nork Penn Stn!
google avatar

Remiah S.

Yelp
The food was so good it literally made my friend stop eating so she could cry! (I'm sooooo not kidding!) On top of the food being delicious, it's BYOB. We went for Saturday brunch and the DJ was amazing as well. Super cute, chill vibe. We all agreed that this will be our new "go to" spot!

Yelp
We came on this place by chance. Since we recently started a vegetarian/vegan diet, this cafe seemed like a good option based on the menu. We really wanted breakfast and since there wasn't a breakfast end time listed on the menu or website we attempted to order Huevos Rancheros and a Veggie Omelette. Unfortunately, we were told they were only serving lunch and due to a private event they would be closing at 2pm. None of this was ideal, but the staff was so pleasant and apologetic. We ended up ordering the buffalo cauliflower bites, crispy Brussels sprouts, the vegan & cheesy sandwich. All were delicious! The vegan & cheesy sandwich tasted by a cheesesteak... very flavorful. This place had a cool vibe with eclectic decor. One more thing, our drinks were on the house since we couldn't order what we originally wanted. I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Good food and Coffee and Snacks, I'm never disappointed here, I stop here when I need that after espresso coffee and snack..all good , sometimes I'll get lunch, I'm never disappointed....
