Google
Excellent coffee, and excellent vibes. They’ve got the right balance of sweetness too if doing a syrup, doesn’t overpower the espresso, just enhances it. Seating is great too, perfect little spot and the staff is next level, so friendly and attentive.

Google
The macchiato was so strong, and the bambiccino was lightly sweet. Didn't try the food but they seem very pricey. The service was kinda slow, but the coffee shop has plenty of space for people to work or chat.

Google
Quite disappointed with the experience here. I order a Flat White, and it was poorly made. The espresso tasted burnt, was extremely hot, and the steamed milk was non-existant. Also had the avocado toast, it was mediocre, something you could prepare at home. Service was also rated poorly.

A few years ago, a friend recommended a coffee shop brand called Bluestone Lane to me. When I visited this location near Dupont Circle, I immediately liked the place and enjoyed its coffee after a long walk which was tasty and refreshing. Since then, I have become a fan of the Bluestone Lane brand. This Australian-inspired coffee shop not only offers tasty coffee but also provides healthy and delicious food options. The ambiance of the coffee shop is relaxing, and it's worth having an excellent iced coffee on a hot day at this coffee shop.

Very delicious latte. The best part was the service though. One of the baristas, Malik, made my experience great! Very welcoming and nice guy. I will definitely be back!

Today I had a good coffee and decent breakfast here. When I was ordering there was a woman who came at the counter accusing the staff at the counter that she neglected her. I felt sorry for the staff because it was a misunderstanding event. I would like to give support for Adriana who was, for me, innocent. I know that sometimes customers can be impatient. So i would like to give Adriana justice in case that she gets a bad report.

Google
I googled “best breakfast burrito” and found this little gem, and now I understand why. Atmosphere was nice, service was great, and so was the coffee, but what I really came for was the burrito, and I can see why this place popped up. The Sunshine Burrito was fluffy scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla alongside perfectly ripe & cool avocado slices with bacon, spinach and dill mayo. Personally, I think the bacon could be crispier, and we could do with a touch less spinach, but that’s personal preference. The dill mayo was a nice surprise, adding a note that balanced out the rest of the flavors well. This burrito was created by a thoughtful chef, and it was just what I needed after a long early morning. Thanks, Bluestone!

Google
Amazing cafe. Ordered the decaf americano and it was fresh and so smooth. The location unfortunately doesn't have plugs and only wifi to work. But still the coffee is undeniably good.

Yelp
Fast casual spot for coffee, smoothies, and a few different breakfast bites in the Dupont Circle area. I think they're best for their coffee - other things I've ordered have been good but not great. My experience of this location in particular is that they are a bit slow to get things made, so typically I'll only pop by if I have a bit more time on my hands. There is a decent amount of seating inside, so if you do have some time on your hands this would be a good location for a light bite while you get some work done.

Yelp
Ordered a small iced chai latte and I've never been more disappointed. It tasted like plain milk with a hint of chai syrup/flavoring and costs $6.50. Maybe I just don't drink chai latte enough to be able to tell whether this is the standard?? Regardless, everything on the menu (aside from the hot drinks) looked overpriced. Such is the cost of doing business in downtown DC I suppose. Service was fine. Plenty of seating on a Sunday afternoon. There is one gender-neutral bathroom there.

Yelp
Nice place to meet friends and grab coffee. The decor is very trendy. I ordered a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso but it did not taste that strong.

Yelp
Sweet treat and a good study place. I'm always on the hunt for a place that serves good coffee and is a good place to work (that is not Starbucks) I have come here on a couple of weekends to do some self-studying work. The music isn't too loud and the coffee is generally pretty solid at all Bluestones. The location is very spacious and staff is usually super nice. My only complaint would be that there aren't a lot of outlets, so you might have to fight for a spot to charge your laptop if it gets busy. You can get a solid avocado toast here too.

Yelp
Since it's on the price side for me, I probably won't return, but I had a nice experience at this Bluestone Lane. The space is large and airy with plenty of seating, great for groups. The service is courteous and thorough. My partner enjoyed his oar milk latte, which he was able to get in the thermos he brought, and i decided to be adventurous and tried the beet latte. The flavor and texture reminded me of marshmallows. I took most of it home and added a bit of coffee and cocoa to punch up the flavor. I would come back for an event (like today), but for a regular coffee, there are a lot of other nearby options I'd likely choose instead.

Yelp
My friend and I came here to study on a weekday afternoon. It was really peaceful and calm inside, with beautiful wallpaper of greenery that livened up the place. I ordered a coconut mocha latte and my friend got the croissant sandwich with a vanilla latte. Their croissant sandwich looked baked to perfection. The coconut mocha latte however wasn't very sweet. It started getting too bitter and dark for my taste. There is lots of seating inside if you WFH or are looking for a good study spot.

Yelp
Coffee was fine but there was bird poop all over the INSIDE tables that had clearly been there for a while, and birds flying around which seems incredibly unhygienic. Really disgusting to see.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks being served here! I was so happy to see banana toast on the menu as it's such a comfort food for me, and made the perfect breakfast on my first morning in a new city! I also had an iced oat milk chai latte, which was exactly to my liking. Unfortunately, the reason that I have to take a start off is their order system and staff. It was my first time here, so I needed just a second to find what I wanted on the menu. Luckily, I had looked at the menu online beforehand, so I knew what I wanted, just needed to locate it. No one so much is greeted me when I walked in, let alone help me place my order. I was moving as quickly as I could when the man behind me started huffing and puffing as if I was taking ages to order. The staff were very quick to come over and begin taking his order. I found it a little frustrating that they would be so impatient to a first-timer. I really enjoyed how this place is decorated. It's below office buildings, but the vaulted ceilings and printed wallpaper give it a great touch. Overall, would I come here again? Probably because the food was so delicious, but if I could get the same thing somewhere else, I would prefer it.

Yelp
This is a nice cafe chain. They have a few spots in New York so when I saw the sign, I swung into a parking spot on the street. Walking in, it's a bright space with plenty of seating. I see the freshly baked pastry in the display case. Their claim to fame is their coffee, which is roasted in New York. Here's a high five for the big apple! Here's where I give them a low five. This spot is CASHLESS. I had to run back to the car and get my wallet. Once I have my wallet, now there is a couple in front of me trying to decide what they want... They decide and slide to the side. I give the counter guy my Yeti cup, I snag a chocolate croissant and I'm on my way. Good coffee and a great croissant. Life is good

Borghan N.

Yelp
You know Australians invented flat white, right? You can get a "bonzer" one right here! And their bamboccino is the only game in the Golden Triangle.

Yelp
This was a fun fast casual coffee shop with a pretty good brunch menu. I had the lavender latte with oat milk and the breakfast burrito. It had a yummy dill mayo that I'm still thinking about. The atmosphere is very work friendly and not too busy. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy your coffee for a bit.
google avatar

Yelp
They have a large touch screen where you submit your order that is extremely slow and desperately needs to be updated. It took a pretty decent amount of time afterwards for our order to get made (~40 minutes), which I personally didn't mind too much since it seemed like they were short staffed. However, they did burn my croissant sandwich and then served it to me (as seen in the picture). The vanilla lattes we got were decent. They have both indoor seating and outdoor (however only a couple tables outside).

Yelp
Went there on a weekday. They like to rely on tablets for people ordering and only had one print menus available (no boards with menu items). Except the iPads were not working, so the you had to order through the staff. The limited print menu did not list all items, in particular drinks. You see the problem now: you're supposed to tell staff what you want to eat and drink without knowing what they offer. Just not a smooth experience, and perhaps victims of their own insistence on doing everything by tablet only.

Yelp
Came here for lunch since I work nearby. The salmon toast was excellent, bread was soft and fresh and the salmon was flavorful and not fishy or tough. I also got bottled fresh OJ, which was very good. The coffee selection looked and smelled good but I didn't have any myself. My only complaints are that the menu is very tiny, not many options for food and it is pricey for what you get (pretty standard for this area of DC, but there are more affordable options nearby).

Yelp
I think I've only written one other 1-star review at a different establishment but what I've experienced today was just bad. I was in DC with my boyfriend and we wanted to enjoy a Sunday afternoon at a cafe. I recommended Bluestone as I really enjoyed my experience at their Philadelphia location. It was incredibly empty with only one other customer in the cafe and it took nearly 45 minutes to have our order come out properly. There were several mistakes including a latte that was made instead of iced aussie chocolate, my avocado toast without tomatoes and several other missing ingredients as well as a missing chocolate chip cookie. My boyfriend and I had to check with them at the counter three times before finally receiving everything we actually ordered. Really, they should be coming to us at our table after the amount of mistakes that were made. Now in terms of taste, the matcha latte is a bit plain so I've definitely had better elsewhere. The avocado toast only comes with one slice of bread (highly disappointing as most other establishments will give you 2) and not to mention their expenses are definitely over priced for what you get. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

Yelp
An OK coffee shop but overpriced. I paid $4.75 for a mediocre hot chocolate.

Yelp
Found this place looking through Yelp for something on the walk to the Phillips Collection from the capitol. I expected more of a wait service/sit down restaurant style based on some of the pictures, but it's kinda just like a Starbucks. We ordered through the large touch screen at the front. So easy and contactless, so that's cool and then we sat down to wait. There is a nice variety seating options: communal tables, small tables, counter seating. There were even a few outside tables, but they were still in the shade and it was a little chilly. I liked the interior decor and little fake plants all over the place. Our drinks were ready in a few minutes and the food a few minutes after that. I ordered the salmon toast and a latte. Both were delicious, but set me back about $14. Pricey, but worth it given the presentation, quality and location.

Yelp
An absolute must visits restaurant for breakfast. I came here with my family for breakfast and was so happy I did. Let me start off by saying the place is so nicely decorated and the staff is so friendly. On top of it all, the food is delicious and beautifully plated. Overall it was a really enjoyable dining experience and I totally recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Bluestone lane wins again! I got the clean and lean protein bowl and it cannot be stated how amazing this dish is. It's the perfect amount of healthy fats, greens, and tastiness to perfectly satisfy you. Poached egg was cooked perfectly, salmon (and all other ingredients were fresh), and the lemon vinaigrette was the perfect dressing for it! If you come here, you NEED to try this!

Madeline P.

Yelp
I saw the barista make the wrong size, then put it into the larger cup and pour a bunch of almond milk into it. The product is really light and tastes more like almond milk with a whisper of matcha. Very disappointed as I like to come to Bluestone locations to do work.

Yelp
This place is tied for first for my favorite brunch place in DC. I love the minimalistic decor with beautiful pops of blue to create a beachy Aussie vibe. I wasn't expecting much since we were just looking for a quick bite.. but wow was i impressed. I would recommend the sunshine burrito (eggs, bacon, avocado, potatoes) which comes with large salted potatoe wedges. This burrito had the perfect ratio of ingredients where nothing overpowered the taste. I love the addition of avocado for a creaminess that contrasts the crunchiness of the bacon. This came out incredibly quick and the service was 10/10. Secondly, my friend ordered the Baked Folded Chimichurri Eggs & Bacon Toast (G,SE,S,E). This was also remarkable. It had a slightly spicy, savory flavor and I'd order this again for myself. The cold brew was decent. I enjoyed it but wouldn't pick it apart from most cold brews I've had. If you want a quick, delicious food -- a bit on the pricier side ($12-$17), I'd recommend bluestone lane. I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
I don't usually drink coffee at chains but Malik behind the counter made an amazing cortado!! I had to get one to go after dining in. Great service, great food, great coffee!

Yelp
Visited from out of town, there is no way the bacon egg and cheese croissant is ~400 cals lol but it was amazing! Delicious and fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
nothing exceptional but nothing terrible. fairly pricey for the quantity of food they give, but that's to be expected in downtown DC. the croissants were soft, warm, buttery, and overall phenomenal and thoroughly enjoyed. the iced dirty chai wasn't anything special, but better than any you could order at a chain-coffee store for about the same price. there was outdoor seating but it was a little too chilly outside. the ambience inside was quiet and professional. there was only one paper menu with no prices on it, so we had to rely on the tablet to look at the prices and items, and then order through one of the employees at the register because the tablet wasn't working.

Terry S.

Yelp
First I have to say I love the team here in the morning. They are very quick and get the job done. The almond croissant is the best pastry they have especially warm up!

Yelp
I always have a great experience at this location I've been a local for years now and the service is always top tier. I use the Bluestone lane app so my coffee and food is always ready when I arrive which I love. Even with just having a pick up order I'm always greeted by the employees when I walk in. The avocado toast is my go to with a poached egg added it's amazing.

Yelp
We enjoyed Bluestone Lane a couple of times this long, Holiday weekend. Not many places for breakfast were open in the neighborhood, and Bluestone Lane was !It was also a great location for us as we stayed at a hotel in the area. I'm a big fan of Bluestone Lane from a NYC location I used to frequent in midtown. It was so nice to get reacquainted again! I have to say, I really missed it. The food and drinks are still as delish as I remembered. The avocado toast was scrumptious -- fresh and perfectly ripe avocado with a great mixture of salt, lemon, olive oil and chili flakes for some extra heat. My husband ordered a supped up avocado toast with prosciutto, tomato and a poached egg, which he loved. I also had a really tasty iced latte and service was on the slower side, but we weren't in a rush. Good things are worth waiting for. Oh and the nutella muffin was pretty tasty as well. It was kind of like a croissant in the shape of a muffin with some nutella inside. Very good.

Yelp
Loved the salmon toast delicious. Coffee was great too. It was super close by to my hotel, I walked. Clean and friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
I've visited a few times in the past few weeks. I've ordered a hot chai latte (my favorite), which is sometime bland and sometimes sweet. I also ordered a brownie on Monday 11/11, right before lunch time, and it was stale stale stale! There were also multiple flies zipping around inside the bakery case and they all immediately found new places to nest as the employee reached in to grab the brownie. He also didn't seem fazed by it, so I take it as being so commonplace.

Yelp

Yelp
The ambiance is very chill and calm, which is nice for a quieter meal or place to work. The food is also very tasty!

Yelp
A very cute and cozy cafe offering super fresh ingredients. We were in town for a comedy show and were looking for a quick place to grab breakfast before we hit the road. I ordered an almond milk latte with the avocado toast with a poached egg. While it was a little expensive, but it hit the spot. The food was incredibly delicious. I ate every single bite. My husband got their orange juice and a croisant sandwich with egg, bacon, and cheese. He gobbled his down as well. $42 was a bit high so not something I would do often, but it was a nice treat.

Eric P.

Yelp
Quick service. Simple touchscreen menu for ordering and customizing your order. Tasty breakfast options.

Yelp
I love stopping by for a coffee or quick bite at this location! Herbert and Adrianna are so friendly and helpful. The location is very clean and convenient. Highly recommend:)

Yelp
Favorite place to grab coffee, love their version of cold brew on tap. Huge plus to have somewhere to sit with Wi-Fi although I don't want to linger long usually, because of the quick-pickup feel of the place. Probably all the better because it means you can get a spot to sit down when you need it. (Granted, pre-Covid the seats were usually full with with lots of office workers doing coffee break meetings to get away from their offices.) Favorite thing to eat is the avocado toast with the lot -- chili flakes are good but sometimes I don't want the extra punch so there's an easy option to leave it out when you order through the app. Solid breakfast options. Great job guys keep it up!

Rodrick F.

Yelp
favorite coffee shop in the area! consistent flat whites and delicious pastries! Please put a bluestone lane in Charlotte NC

Yelp
Best customer service ever every time I come here it feels like I'm at second home also they're coffee is really good I recommend this place it's a great spot to study too

Yelp
The food is fantastic and the service is exceptional. I may have found my new coffee shop. Will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Great place to work or enjoy breakfast on a nice day. This location has a few tables outside and has large windows that make the interior bright. We tried the lemon ricotta pancakes and they are so light, fluffy and not too sour. The ricotta on top of the pancakes is delicious and presentation is really nice - just a bit small if you are super hungry. The drinks options are great too - alcoholic, coffee and tea. the spicy margarita and mimosas are perfect. In terms of lattes, I was not a fan of the seasonal beet flavor but I liked the matcha and turmeric (don't have sweetener).

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! I love the avocado toast with bacon added. So I also order the banana toast solely because I can't ever decide. The coffee is truly the best! The food packaging is over the top and totally adorable! It actually does a great job of keeping the toast presentable! If you have a chance go check this place out! Yelp
I got the salmon toast and an iced latte. I was instantly welcomed by the friendly cashier and knew I was going to be taken care of. The salmon toast was served on a wooden board, which I think is unique. It was quite tasty! I would definitely have it again but I would like to try their other toast selections. The latte was nothing too special but it hit the spot. Overall, I loved the service at this location and would stop by again for breakfast!

Yelp
Nice cozy little spot off of Connecticut Ave. I had an appointment nearby and wanted to grab some coffee before continuing on with the rest of my errands. This was close by and better than a Starbucks. I also got the avocado toast with a poached egg (egg was overdone but it's cool). Small groups studying or catching up after yoga class, but the space is not too loud. Heads up, this is a cashlesss business but it also looks like they accept ApplePay. Nice to get away from the big chains.

Yelp
Nice spot I go to occasionally for a quick cup of coffee. I always receive excellent service here. Today I decided to try one of their cold pressed juices. The taste was a bit off and realized when I got home that their in-house bottled juice that they sold to me was 9 days past the expiration date. Make sure you check the expiration date on their products because clearly they do not take expired items off the shelf. I personally will never be returning back to Bluestone Lane.

Yelp
Went to this place for brunch with a friend and found it suprisingly dissapointing. We got the following: Iced Matcha Latte ($6): This is unsweetened and their matcha isn't very good. It tasted way too milky. Also $1 extra for iced? Thats a little ridiculous and I honestly haven't seen any place ever do that. Avocado Toast with Poached Egg ($8+$3): The avocado on the toast wasn't that bad. There was a lot and it was creamy. They offer to add a poached egg for $3, which I opted for, and it was NOT worth it. Poached eggs are supposed to be slightly runny but, as you can see in the picture, this $3 egg was nowhere near runny. It was basically a $3 boiled egg. It also tasted dry and bland and made the toast as a whole very dissapointing. Salmon Toast ($9): My friend got this and she said she enjoyed it. I tried a little and the salmon did taste pretty good with the cheese. If I somehow end up back here then I'll probably go for that. The indoor decor was nice, but the food and drinks were not. Maybe I'll come back to try a different menu item and drink but IMO the quality of the food/drinks do not match the prices they charge.

Vanessa N.

Yelp
Awful experience for the first time at this location. Very disappointed. I went to brunch with a friend, I order my food and I took more than an hour to serve me, my friend already had hers. I went to ask for my order TWICE and the ladies at the register told me they already check with the kitchen staff, that they don't have nothing to do with them. Finally, they brought me my order in a BOX TO GO!! when I never asked for to go. They took it back to the kitchen and put my food in a plate. Food was already cold, and the waitress never gave us water. Very disappointed I would rate your staff CERO here. We gave them tips for courtesy but really did not deserve it.
google avatar

Yumi M.

Yelp
I come here often as it is conveniently located in downtown dc, between Dupont Circle and Farragut Square. I have tried their lattes and matcha lattes. Both very good. However they have always come out "luke-warm" rather than "hot" which I prefer. Maybe I should request extra hot next time I order.
google avatar

Ann X.

Yelp
Wait in itself puts this coffee shop at 3 stars. Cute environment and ambience, but it shouldn't take 15 minutes to make an Americano...? Also, the cashier seemed fed up with my question on what a golden latte was, which I couldn't really relate to because there was literally no one else in line... Overall a subpar experience, but maybe I caught them on a wrong day.
google avatar

Brooke T.

Yelp
My regular go-to when commuting through a dupont! The service is always great. The inside is extremely aesthetic, with great DC energy. The mocha latte is delicious--with real flakes of chocolate on top. I also always order the salmon toast on gluten-free bread when I come with my husband, who has celiacs. It is so freaking good!! The salmon portion is always generous and it has a really nice bright flavor to it, while leaving you full. The prices are high, but this is a great treat-yourself coffee experience that won't disappoint!

Yelp
Always can depend on Bluestone Lane for a bright, modern vibe. I ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg add-on. The poached egg was done correctly, and the yolk oozed beautifully on the toast. There was plenty of avocado and the bread was toasted just right, served on a cute wooden cutting board. Would like to try the one with the cherry heirloom tomatoes another time.
