We tried Bluestone Lane for breakfast, when we were staying in the Marina. Not realizing that our stay was the same morning as the San Francisco Marathon, Bluestone Lane was super busy and packed with people when we arrived.
Nonetheless, after a short wait, a table was set for us. The restaurant was definitely super short staffed, as a table was set up for us and the server told us they would bring us chairs to finish up the table so we could sit down. After waiting several minutes for the chairs, a guest at one of the other tables offered up some extra chairs, so we were able to finish setting up the table and sit down.
The menu had lots of nice and smaller options for kids, which was great since we were with my two younger nieces. One of my nieces got the banana bread with a smashed avocado side, while the other got the blueberry pancakes. I got the BL burrito and my partner got a side of toast and helped the girls with their meals.
While the prices for the items were pretty reasonable, the portions were also a bit small. The banana bread in particular was a small portion, with my niece noting that she was still hungry after finishing the plate. Unfortunately, since the restaurant was really busy, we did not want to order any additional items but instead opted to get her more food after leaving the restaurant. My younger niece did really enjoy the blueberry pancakes, which was also a more generous portion.
My partner's toast was okay, although not as toasted/crispy as expected. The BL burrito was just okay; it tasted like a very basic breakfast burrito without a ton of flavor, so I doused it in Cholula to give it a little kick.
Despite being slammed with marathon goers and understaffed, the servers were really nice and tried their best to be attentive. The food was fairly reasonably priced, but the portions were a bit small.
