Taiwan’s Chicha San Chen Just Opened a Bay Area Boba Shop | Eater SF

"The Australian cafe chain Bluestone Lane opened a new outpost at 3352 Steiner Street on September 18, adding another option for coffee and salads as the company’s seventh San Francisco location and operating daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m." - Paolo Bicchieri

We tried Bluestone Lane for breakfast, when we were staying in the Marina. Not realizing that our stay was the same morning as the San Francisco Marathon, Bluestone Lane was super busy and packed with people when we arrived. Nonetheless, after a short wait, a table was set for us. The restaurant was definitely super short staffed, as a table was set up for us and the server told us they would bring us chairs to finish up the table so we could sit down. After waiting several minutes for the chairs, a guest at one of the other tables offered up some extra chairs, so we were able to finish setting up the table and sit down. The menu had lots of nice and smaller options for kids, which was great since we were with my two younger nieces. One of my nieces got the banana bread with a smashed avocado side, while the other got the blueberry pancakes. I got the BL burrito and my partner got a side of toast and helped the girls with their meals. While the prices for the items were pretty reasonable, the portions were also a bit small. The banana bread in particular was a small portion, with my niece noting that she was still hungry after finishing the plate. Unfortunately, since the restaurant was really busy, we did not want to order any additional items but instead opted to get her more food after leaving the restaurant. My younger niece did really enjoy the blueberry pancakes, which was also a more generous portion. My partner's toast was okay, although not as toasted/crispy as expected. The BL burrito was just okay; it tasted like a very basic breakfast burrito without a ton of flavor, so I doused it in Cholula to give it a little kick. Despite being slammed with marathon goers and understaffed, the servers were really nice and tried their best to be attentive. The food was fairly reasonably priced, but the portions were a bit small.

We stopped by for a quick break during our visit to San Francisco and had a great experience. We enjoyed a beer and some potato wedges — they were absolutely fantastic! Elias was a fantastic server and even gave us a few great tips about the area. Highly recommend this place to anyone passing through! 🍻🥔

I highly recommend Bluestone! I came here for the first time and had a great experience. The iced coffee, pastry, and service were all excellent, especially on a beautiful sunny day. Chris was incredibly hospitable and welcoming, which made the visit even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Atmosphere is great! Love the Australian theme to it and their collaborations are always peak! Their newest collaboration with AG1 is amazing, love the smoothie tastes like their old tropical fresh with a nice green twist, and service is top tier, attentive and kind, very friendly as well!!! Food was great, love the toasties but their avo smash and soft chilli scramble was great, very soft and is an aussie best according to them which is very true, sooooo good and their coffee is amazing,,latte art is amazing and they always make my coffee perfectly despite my high coffee standards!

I loooooooooove this spot for coffee and food. The portions are big and reasonably priced. Inside decor is super cute and service is great and quick. Perfect spot to work from home. Robert and Chris in the front doing coffees are the BEST!!! They always make a perfect latte and are quick and efficient. never have to wait a long time to get a latte as they are very hard-working and cognizant of peoples time. Both are super friendly and always beyond satisfied with their perfect latte. On top of that they give free dog treats which my dog loves. Couldnt imagine a better coffee/food spot!!

I'm just going to say it, I'm not a fan of the Marina. So, take this review with a grain of salt. We stopped by Bluestone Lane as an alternative to Bluebarn. Bluebarn was too packed wall-to-wall! We were HUNGRY trying to refuel after a hike in marin county. We strolled into Bluestone Lane and immediately the waiter greeted and offered to sit us...but then walked away and never told us where our table was..we eventually sat down and looked over the menu using the QR codes on the table. I tried to order using the QR code, however, it wouldn't let me customize my order to remove dairy (i'm lactose in tolerant so it's a big deal for me). I waited in line for a long time just to tell the cashier my issues and they seemed confused but took my order. My friend is CANNOT HAVE GLUTEN and asked the waiter to confirm if the brownies don't have gluten. The menu said the brownies were gluten free but he's really allergic so he double checked. The staff didn't know or bother to confirm. So my friend gave up his brownies to the rest of the group. My salad took came out well after my friends got their food. The food? Really good. No regrets on ordering. The salad was actually amazing Would I go again? Probably not.

Enjoyed brunch . We ate Soft chilli scramble with Avacado, Collective Granola and Avacado smash. Besides good taste and prompt service, beautiful presentation of all dishes.
