I’ve been coming to Bluestone Lane Cafe for a while now and always meant to leave a review. I really like the vibe here—it’s cozy, bright, and a nice place to sit and relax, though it can get crowded and I do wish there were more seats. I’ve had their matcha latte both hot and iced, and both are good. Nothing overly sweet, just a solid, comforting drink. The matcha pancakes were also a fun order and definitely worth trying if you like matcha. We ordered a few things to share, including the prosciutto and burrata sandwich, a side of bacon, and scrambled eggs—all good and what you’d expect. Our favorite by far was the prosciutto burrata with sourdough, arugula, and chili jam. That combo really worked, and the chili jam added a nice little kick. Overall, it’s a dependable spot with good food and drinks that we keep coming back to.

The Great Flat White Quest! After hitting 120 cafés in Australia—a feat of cardiovascular endurance that should technically qualify me for an Olympic medal—I returned to the United States after a year aboard . I quickly discovered that "American Coffee" is often just a polite term for "brown water that has been sitting in a pot since the Eisenhower administration." I pleaded with my parents. I wept. I explained that an Australian flat white is to a regular cup of joe what a Ferrari is to a riding lawnmower. My mates back in Oz informed me that Bluestone Lane was lurking right around the corner from my family home in Tyson’s. I immediately loaded my parents into the car for an emergency intervention. I arrived with expectations higher than the hair on a 1980s prom queen. In Australia, you can get a world-class coffee from a guy standing on a literal street corner with a portable steam wand. In America, finding a proper flat white usually requires a map, a compass, and a blood sacrifice. We went for the heavy hitters: a small flat white with an extra shot (my "usual"), a Flagstaff blend long black for my dad—who is a coffee connoisseur, which is a fancy way of saying he can tell the difference between "beans" and "dirt"—and a large mocha for my mom. I also ordered the Prosciutto and Burrata sandwich, while Mom went for the Pesto Chicken. I must tip my hat to the Bluestone Lane menu designers. They’ve managed to create an Australian-inspired masterpiece while still speaking "American" to the locals. I was, I admit, slightly wounded to see the word "burrito" instead of "wrap," but I decided to be the bigger person and not start an international incident. However, they won my heart forever because they have Magics on the menu. If a café knows what a Magic is, they aren't just making coffee; they are practicing high-level sorcery, pun intended. The food was brilliant, but the coffee was the real star—the kind of star that gets a standing ovation and three encores. I took a sip of everyone’s drink, purely for "quality control" purposes and definitely not because I’m a caffeine thief. The barista deserves a Nobel Prize for achieving beautiful latte art even using skim milk, a substance that usually has the structural integrity of a cloud. The long black was brewed to perfection, and the mocha had that "American sweetness" which is perfect for my mom, whose sweet tooth is basically a structural component of her jaw. The whole experience was top-notch, made even better by our waitress, Karolina, who was so outrageously sweet I’m surprised she doesn’t cause cavities just by standing there. We even snagged a piece of banana bread on the way out, because in the world of professional café-hopping, you never leave a soldier behind. Thank you, Bluestone Lane, for bringing the taste of Australia to my hometown and saving me from a life of lukewarm American drip coffee. You are the real MVPs. I’m sure they will see me taking pictures of my morning Blue Stone Land coffees on my Instagram @alexajanoschka

Google
So good the coffee was scrumptious, I got the brown sugar iced latte would highly recommend, they make their syrups in store. The server was so nice she was super kind and welcoming and it felt like I was talking to an old friend. Also the vibes in there are perfect especially with all the windows, we went around sunset and could watch it as we sat and drank our coffee. 10/10 would recommend.

Google
I stopped by here as soon as they opened one morning when I was in town for work, it was the earliest that any coffee shop nearby opened. The coffee shop is very cute and I was surprised to realize that they also had food so I decided to stick around for a quick breakfast. Service was really warm and good, Coffee was good, food was pretty good. Everything is a bit overpriced, but probably in line with other similar coffee shops in the area. This was a great spot in the Tysons corner Boro area!

Google
Cute little coffee shop. I like their menu but note that they don't have any halal meat options. Rest, food and coffee are great.

Google
Bluestone Lane Coffee at The Boro is one of my favorite spots in Tysons Corner — conveniently located right across from where I live. It’s simply amazing! The café is filled with large windows offering beautiful views of The Boro, creating a bright and relaxing atmosphere. The service is excellent — the team works together like a family and always makes you feel welcome. And the coffee? Truly the best in the area, in my opinion. Every visit here puts me in a good mood. A fantastic place all around!

Google
Food? Delicious. Portions? Horrendous. This half of an almost $20 burrito. Absolutely crazy. But man it tasted great.

Jimena C.

Google
I really liked my latte, it was great! The breakfast options overall are good and it’s not outrageously priced. The only thing is that the place is REALLY small and it gets packed on the weekends. Since it’s getting cold outside the inside of the coffee shop gets packed.

Yelp
Great local coffee spot! Excellent service - thank you, Minor, for taking care of us!

Yelp
Small location of a national Coffee Shop/Cafe chain with a solid menu of food + both indoor and outdoor seating I came here for breakfast with my fiance and we were told that we could either order from the counter, from a QR code at a table, or with a server. We grabbed a table and took a look over the menu while waiting for a waitress. There were a decent selection of drinks, and an impressive selection of food options given the size & coffee-shop vibe of the place. We each got an iced coffee, my fiance got a breakfast sandwich, and I got the ricotta waffles. The coffee was solid, but the food was great! This being said, although I really enjoyed my ricotta pancakes (and there was a solid portion of them) they were served in a skillet that they barely fit into, which made them challenging to eat

Yelp
: "Had an amazing breakfast at Bluestone Lane in The Boro. The food was great, the place was beautiful, and Lucas gave truly outstanding service--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. He made the experience perfect!"

Yelp
the only good thing going for this place is their employees and the interior itself. cute place, can definitely see it as an beach-side cafe, as shown in the photos. the baristas were really kind and accommodating to us when we visited. however, the espresso machine was broken and the kitchen was closed during our visit. everything was extremely overpriced - regardless of the fact that its located in mclean. we got an iced matcha latte and it was thrown out halfway. their menu seems to have a lot of interesting drinks though. the quality of food seems promising as well. may have just caught them at a bad time!
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
Excellent food!!!! Expeditious service and adorable coffee shop ambiance. I love that there's an option to order your food online but a server still comes to offer to help. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Susie G.

Yelp
Coffee here is always amazing. I also really like the Bondi Blue Smoothie. I miss the her -scrambled eggs on toast that used to be on the menu. I ordered the Soft Chili Scramble with Avocado, thinking it would be similar. It basically was, but I had missed that the eggs were "shallot-folded" and they were just too onion-y for me. I also was expecting heat just from the chili oil surrounding the dish, not realizing it would also be in the eggs, so it was a bit spicy for my preference. Lesson learned. Service was friendly enough.
google avatar

Brittney S.

Yelp
Decent spot for coffee/tea. It's a small shop, but there was seating indoors and outside. I ended up having to order a few times because the kids decided they wanted iced tea, and the person taking my order was very kind and accommodating!
google avatar

Parisa A.

Yelp
I was in need of a sweet treat and had a good time here. The coffee was excellent and the almond croissant was delicious.

Ned S.

Yelp
Wendy and Carolina were excellent. Coffee was phenomenal. Couldn't recommend this place more.
google avatar

Ray G.

Yelp
We selected Bluestone Lane based upon their good food, and the menu is very explicit about what has gluten and what is gluten-free. Our server came to our table quickly and was able to answer questions about the gluten-free options. I ordered the BL Burrito, which was very tasty, as was the included side salad. The coffee is very good and did not require any milk or sweetening.
google avatar

Tiffanyanne T.

Yelp
This is a small location but still hits the same. I had the Turkey Bacon club & a hot strawberry matcha! Both were delicious!
google avatar

Vanessa T.

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this place and tried it out! The place had large windows so the ambience was great. The staff were friendly. The place has very limited seating but I'm glad I was able to sit down and enjoy the breakfast and coffee. I even brought home a bag of the coffee beans! If you are in the area, definitely try it out!
google avatar

Naz S.

Yelp
The lady that works at this location is the kindest soul. She's always so positive and happy, that she will put you in a good mood! Really everyone here is awesome. The food is really tasty and fresh too! Highly recommend their breakfast wraps and croissants.
google avatar

Karen R.

Yelp
I ordered the seasoned chicken burrito for lunch, which also came with a yummy side salad , with the blue protein smoothie. Both were delicious! The blue smoothie was my favorite. I liked that I got my protein fix as well as delicious, creamy, and fruity flavors.

Yelp
I'm huge on ambiance when it comes to coffee shops, and Bluestone at the Boro is as good as it gets. Floor to high ceiling wall to wall windows in this island shop bathe you in natural light, which makes it comfortable during all four seasons. I really enjoy their unique lattes and iced coffees, as well as breakfast staples like the granola and yogurt. Great, comfortable spot with great service as well. Wendy sets the tone with her warmth and upbeat spirit. Great spot! Hope they set longer hours!

Yelp
Came here and got a basic vanilla iced latte and a hot chai latte. They are both good no complaints, but I did wish I tried more unique flavor after the fact. I talked to some patrons who were sitting inside and they said they ordered a white chocolate latte and a strawberry matcha latte. They both said they were phenomenal. I included some pictures of the inside of the café and it's a little bit of an awkward space just because it is so small. You order in person closest to the other side of the doors or you can order on a big iPad where I was standing taking the photo. I thought the drinks took a little bit to come out because there was only one barista making drinks for both the to go orders and for those who are dining in. As you can tell by the photo, there was a short line on this Sunday morning and it got a little cramped with some of the waiters going in and out serving different tables while they were about four or five of us waiting for our drinks to go. I wish there was more of a convenient place for us to be because I felt like if I wasn't standing right by the main doors, I would be on top of others who were sitting down and eating. I do hope to come back to try the food as it looked really good. I think most of the dishes were over $15. This place is located in the middle of the Boro with a bunch of other stores too!

Yelp
Bluestone is one of my ultimate fave cafés. It's still got the best coffees, the freshest ingredients for food and dining and desserts. The pancakes are the best! They're my kid's goto plus the hot chocolate and croissants. My go to used to be their shakahuka but they've removed it from the menu. So now my goto is their loaded avocado toast. Best loaded avocado toast in the area. And people here are always nice and pleasant - on all BlueStones I've gone to! Foggy Bottom, by their embassy, Chevy Chase, Tysons! I'm just waiting for them to have more gluten free and lactose free options like Tatte AND TO COME UP NORTH! Besides, teal is my favorite color so the teal tiles and beachy interiors vibe I'm already partial to.

Yelp
Was very happy when this location open coz I use to travel to DC a few times a month to get my avocado toast and latte one of my best coffee near by !

Yelp
Not a fan of the bland, subpar food. While the food is made fresh to order, it's a step above Starbucks. I've been rooting for Bluestone and came back 3 times to try different dishes with no luck. The Athlete's Burrito was very bland and poorly mixed with lukewarm scrambled eggs, feta cheese, lentils, and avocado. The ingredients didn't blend well together. I was searching for a good bite, but couldn't find it. The restaurant doesn't carry cheddar cheese, which is very odd and only has halloumi cheese or feta cheese. The Avocado toast was served cold, the bread wasn't toasted. It was very difficult to cut through the bread with a butter knife. The side of Potato Wedges were tepid and when I mentioned it to the waiter, the staff just reheated them instead of making a fresh new batch. The BL Vegetarian Big Brekkie was a hodgepodge of ingredients (roasted mushrooms, halloumi cheese, poached eggs, arugula, and roasted tomatoes) thrown together and didn't blend well. Hubby enjoyed his cappuccino while the $5 mimosa was fine. After multiple attempts, I'm throwing in the towel.

Yelp
Wow, this place is cute, hidden find in tysons for healthy meals, great coffee, and even outdoor seating. The inside of the shop was small but with this summer weather, I'd rather sit outside anyways. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I got their avocado smash and match latte. Both were tasty and well-fit as "healthy" lunch inspo. Check this place out if you're in the area.
google avatar

Vinay V.

Yelp
Melbourne style coffee. Fantastic avocado toasts. They have a great app also. Only place which does a flat-white right. Their mocha, turmeric latte and almost everything I have tried has been great. Not the best place if you want to work for long due to the L shaped layout but a great place to meet friends and have seriously good cuppa.
google avatar

Anjali L.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cute café setting in Tysons with Australian-style food, this is your place. The Athletes burrito was honestly not my favorite; however I think that that's a personal preference issue because I tried some of my boyfriend's meal and it was amazing. The matcha was pretty good and the fruit bowl was really good. Aside from the actual food, the service was decent and I don't really have any complaints in that regard. Be mindful that this is an establishment located in Tysons and so it is definitely in the pricey side. For the three things I ordered I paid just under $40 without tip. It was a nice experience as long as you know what to expect.

Yelp
Yesterday I ordered a smoothie at the kiosk, and never got it. When I asked the barista where my smoothie was, he said that they couldn't refund me for a kiosk order at the register, and that if I left my phone number, he would get back to me. I still haven't gotten a refund, or a phone call, or (obviously) my smoothie. This is bad service, and somewhat typical of this location which usually just gets stuff wrong. For what it's worth I love Bluestone Lane in other locations in the city. Lastly, this location is basically a large glass box and it's often hot, like a hamster cage, when you dine in.
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
We love having breakfast at this cafe frequently on weekends. The coffee is consistently delicious, and plenty of tasty breakfast options prioritize health. The cafe is always clean and tidy, and the service is excellent. The decor features an Australian beach theme, offering breakfast, lunch, or delicious snacks paired with coffee or healthy beverages.
google avatar

Sanchita G.

Yelp
Food was so good! I got the eggs with the bread on the side and then I got the Aussie latte and I got the iced vanilla latte! I know it's crazy that I had two different coffees and one sitting but I was so tired! It was good! The service was super Duper good as well! The service could have been better in the way that it was a little complicated where it was self service order/a waiter comes and serves you so it was a little weird and that way and I think there was a disconnect at times but it's fine. It was a cute little spot outside of the movie theater! it was pretty cool you can just kind of walk in it its own little store in the middle of the boro! Thought it was pretty cool. Their menu was pretty healthy. I will definitely be coming back here. I think it's also kind of trendy as well
google avatar

Jenni L.

Yelp
Bluestone Lane is a beautiful, light, airy coffee shop and a great place to catch up with friends. The shop is mostly made of ceiling to floor windows and has beautiful ocean blue accents and lush house plants. The coffee here is good - you can order it via QR code at your table and you can continue to add to your order if needed. There are some great food/breakfast options and non coffee options as well. I'm a fan of the avocado toast and granola here. Everything is presented cleanly and is all instagrammable. The only downside is that it can get pretty pricey fairly quickly. I've definitely come for 2 breakfast dishes, a coffee, and an orange juice and had the final bill be around $60-70.

Rae S.

Yelp
Bluestone lane is by far the best coffee in town!! Great team, fresh food, but you can't go past the coffee.
google avatar

Alison W.

Yelp
What a lovely find. We have been to boro many times and never noticed Bluestone Lane. How did we miss this gem?? It's a small building located close to the street on the side where the movie theater and Circa are. It's small indoors with only about 6-8 tables, but don't let that fool you. They are cranking out lattes and to go orders quickly. Diana helped us and she was wonderful. Very kind, attentive, and helpful. For drinks we both ordered chai tea oat milk lattes with two shots of espresso. I ordered the chimichurri folded eggs which comes with bacon and whole grain toast. I added avocado and it was yummy. My husband ordered the B.L.A.T.E which is basically a BLT sandwich with egg, avocado, and a side salad. A little messy with the over easy egg but he was very pleased. We will be back for sure!
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
So it seems that really anything that has the word Aussie includes a scoop of ice cream, which makes it a little bit more sweet. I got the Aussie iced latte and it was a sweet treat for sure because of the ice cream. I think it is very cute to have an Australian themed café. I will say that there aren't a whole lot of chairs to do work and it gets pretty crowded pretty quickly. I would see if you want to do work here you would probably have to get here a little bit extra early. It also gets crowded on the weekends too with breakfast/brunch. Overall, it is a very cute, minimal place to get work done!
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
The food isn't all that special, but I appreciate the service, cleanliness, and convenience. The outdoor patio makes it a new top 5 for brunch in the area bc I always have my dogs. It's a short drive from my house. You do the now very prevalent QR code scanning to order. In doing so, though, you have to tip in advance - not sure if that affects how they treat the patrons but I felt like the service was genuinely courteous and prompt. The price tag is a bit steep for what you're getting but I live for brunches so this doesn't matter to me. The avocado smash was around $20 since I added a poached egg, and the breakfast bowl was about $24 for adding salmon. Coffee and tea were $4- just hot water and a tea bag, so that was quite a sticker shock but hey, I'm paying for premium time with my family. No complaints on the food but no praises either. My breakfast bowl was actually a bit too drenched in whatever dressing was in there? Farro was nicely cooked and I always love feta cheese on anything. Ripe avocado and a nice collection of wild greens and tomatoes? I'm set! Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice service at this location price was good was good I love the cake nice place to enjoy your breakfast
google avatar

Yelp
Really enjoy coming here to work! They have a nice little outdoor area that you can order from the table too. It's a nice view to be the office for the day! I've come a couple times and have tried their lemonade, chai latte, some tea, granola, and now their avocado toast. Everything is always really good and tastes pretty healthy. Glad there's a coffee shop at the boro! Also everyone is super nice there. Staff is great!
google avatar

Britney V.

Yelp
I'm a regular here and I love it! The team is incredible & they always go the extra mile! You would think such a popular place wouldn't be able to keep up with their customers but me and my puppy are always greeted by name. The ambiance is energetic but not to loud. I like working from here every now and then. The food, smoothies, coffee and matcha is always great as well. The bondi smoothie and the new grilled corn summer salad are must tries!! So good!
google avatar

Gabrielle H.

Yelp
Don't bother to order online just to go in and they didn't even see your order, so they rush and make everything which ends up being trash. This is the second time something like this has happened to me at this establishment.
google avatar

Bella J.

Yelp
I was nearby this place and saw the ad and liked what I saw. 1. Service: self order on a machine and self pick up once ready 2. Taste: good I got the avocado goddess, the item that is in their ad and it tastes just okay despite having mostly my favorite ingredients, which was a bit disappointing. However, it looked very pretty and it is very healthy. 3. Price was $16 for one lunch salad, so this place is on the expensive side
google avatar

Andy Y.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for brunch! Once you scan the QR code on the table, you order and pay straight from the site. A very seamless process and before you know it...the drinks and food begins to arrive to the table! Parking is available through garage or along the street. For a Sunday around noon, it was pretty busy. Enjoy!

Keyoni A.

Yelp
the staff was so nice and cares a lot about the customers, the food was amazing and the presentation was beautiful, the atmosphere was so calm and relaxed! i love it here and will definitely be coming back!!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
I stopped by for a mid-day pick me up and ordered a decaf iced latte with oat milk. I ordered on the kiosk and it took about 6-7 minutes for my drink to be ready. This was longer than I was expecting since the cafe was pretty much empty. My latte was great, but the prices here are just nuts in my opinion -- I paid nearly $8 for a small latte after tax and tip. While I was waiting for my drink, I took a look at the food menu and the selection looked tasty, but again, I don't think it is likely that quality warrants the prices Bluestone Lane. Cool space with a trendy and fun interior, but I would not come back here at these prices.
google avatar

Sheena S.

Yelp
Food was alright - the eggs were a bit under salted. The chimichurri lacked flavor, but the guacamole was delicious and presentation was superb. I plan to try other dishes for comparison. The flat white was spot on - very well made. The ambiance is super cute -I sat outdoors and it was just lovely in the sunshine. The service was good - I ordered using the QR code found on the table. Food was delivered shortly after (no long wait even though the place was decently packed).

Yelp
This is a very nice quaint spot with good coffee and tasty food. The servers here are very kind, especially our server named Maynor. he was informative about the food, checked up on us multiple times making sure everything was fine. This is now my favorite go-to spot!

Yelp
One of the things I miss most about working in the city is my long breakfast and/or lunch breaks at Bluestone Lane! While it is a large chain, I love how they bring the Australian wellness vibe into the US. As someone who pretty much survives on coffee, toast, and absorbing pretty things -- Bluestone Lane is right up my alley. Their first Northern Virginia location has a much smaller footprint than West End but it still packs a stunning punch! The sunshine flows through the floor to ceiling windows, and the stunning aquamarine tile shimmers from every corner. Ordering is done through a kiosk which is especially efficient for COVID times. I've only been for quick coffee runs and have been pleased with their lattes + freshly baked croissants. I've also picked up a bag of beans for home and enjoyed that as well. I'm saving my fifth star for an in-house experience soon! Welcome to the area Bluestone, we are so glad to have you!

Kristin B.

Yelp
Wow! My new favorite breakfast place! Great vegetarian and meat options. Everything is fresh and is so flavorful, I could eat breakfast here everyday! The service is a little slow but very friendly. They only have a small inside seating area, but a nice amount of outdoor seating and a great vibe. Highly recommend!

Madi D.

Yelp
Ordered the "Aji Verde pulled chicken sandwich" and have multiple issues. First thing I noticed, I did NOT receive "tender blackened pulled chicken". I received what looked like a diced up piece of regular chicken breast. Very disappointed as everybody knows pulled chicken has that slow cooked delicious flavor throughout. Still tried it tho because I was hungry. Took a few bites and saw something that I wasn't expecting on the bun, what looks like mayonnaise. Nowhere in the description did it say mayonnaise was on the sandwich. I specifically made sure each topping was something that I would eat. Yeah, sometimes places make their Aji verde sauce with a LITTLE mayo, but the sauce on my sandwich was white. Not verde. Even if it is not mayo, there is nothing in the description that could possibly explain this random white sauce, that looks and smells like MAYO. Please update the description of your food to what is actually on it. I DESPISE mayo. So now I am going hungry.

Yelp
I loved bluestone great service everyone was so friendly had a big smile on them the food and coffee came out so quick and everything was delicious i loved it definitely will coming back first time coming there and i left very happy and full

Yelp
This is the cutest little cafe with BIG food. Priced fairly with nice seating I think this place is very underrated compared to nearby options.
google avatar

Yelp
The burrata sandwich is so good. It doesn't show up on the QR code menu when they're out of sourdough, so ask one of the waiters. Also it is a tip place. Coffee is good too
google avatar

Ericka S.

Yelp
Stopped in real fast before an appointment because I needed a quick caffeine refuel. I ordered a simple large coffee that was touted to have notes of vanilla and cocoa. The coffee had a great flavor - bold, but not bitter. After trying it black, I chose to indulge and added cream and sugar (I'm usually a black coffee drinker). I was surprised that there wasn't creamer out on the counter, but the barista poured some whole milk in my drink for me. She also offered half and half. The sugar was out on the counter, but it was in an inconvenient area difficult to navigate with the giant croissant I bought. The almond croissant was nice and flakey, but a bit dry. Good for satiating my hunger, but I'd probably try something else next time.

Yelp
I have been to the DC location and finally got a chance to check out the Tyson's location. Although much smaller than the Dupont location, just as good! Great service and great food.

Yelp
A flat white on a freezing day sounded good so I headed over to Bluestone Lane. Tight quarters inside but the floor to ceiling windows brighten up the space. Ordering is done 100% on your phone. Scan, order and pay. Despite that, I was greeted, seated and checked on after my food arrived. The big brekkie is a everything it promises. Toast with a mountain of guacamole and two poached eggs. Two slices and the soft yolks poured out. Perfect. Flat white with a heart flower capped off a great breakfast. It went from empty to packed and gets really loud. Expect that and you'll be fine. When the warm months come back, the outdoor seating will make this a cozy spot to sit and sip espresso drinks.
