Essential Restaurants for Casual and Work Lunches in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Sustainable seafood is one draw at downtown Carlsbad’s Bluewater Grill. Others: the broad terrace, attentive service, and a focus on local ingredients. The menu has a few lunch specials (like fish tacos for $18 and a crab BLTA for $19), plus a range of similarly priced dishes, including fish and chips, seafood louie salad and, yes, an angus cheeseburger served with housemade potato chips."

Upscale Seafood Restaurant in the Heart of Carlsbad Village. Lovely outdoor patio (2) one in front and one in back. Great service. Food is good—little ⬆️ $$$. $50 for Lunch (incl tax & tip) is a bit steep. New England Clam Chowder was creamy and delicious. The bread and butter they serve is excellent. I mistakenly ordered the Crab BLTA. I don’t recommend it. Crab meat was very fresh, yet flavorless and just didn’t go well in a sandwich. Would’ve been much better on the side with some drawn butter or a nice aioli. Fries were crisp and plentiful. Ranch dressing is yummy. Ginger Beer was good quality. Would like to return to try Happy Hour offerings and other menu items. Inside dining is very nice as are the restrooms. Parking can be tough…there’s a Free public parking right beside as well as street parking and other lots. Beware of you’re sitting on the front patio as the trains are incredibly loud with the crossing only a few feet away. Definitely recommend this place.

The Bluewater in downtown Carlsbad is excellent. Bluewater has many other branches in the San Diego county. Be prepared for the parking situation though. The Bluewater has an adjacent parking lot but it was fully occupied because of its vicinity to the beach and other shops. We took 15 min to find a spot in the downtown area.

Ate at this place while on vacation in Carlsbad and loved it. We had the Ahi Tuna, Swordfish, Shrimp and Linguine, and Rockfish. Every one of the entrees was outstanding. I personally had the tuna and it was prepared well with wonderful flavor. This restaurant has their own swordfish boat so the swordfish is ocean to table and very fresh. We shared the chocolate cheesecake which was equally good. All of the waitstaff was attentive and very friendly. We arrived at 5:30 and were able to get a table at the bar but the restaurant quickly filled up. It was a Saturday night but might want to consider reservations.

Our waiter, Brandon, was courteous, fast, and professional. My glass was never empty, and he catered to our needs. My wife and I both had the clam chowder and the cioppino. Both were absolutely delicious. Afterward, we treated ourselves to the lava mud pie. Yummy yummy yummy 😋

I ordered the salad with seared tuna, bean hummus, capers, olives, and lettuce. It was delicious! A salad uniquely served, for a change. Ate at the bar, by myself. One of the bartenders, Dakota was awesome. Got here at 4:30 on a Saturday. Before the rush and it was very nice. Lots of parking.

Always a great time. Jace was our server and he was amazing and very attentive. Gina the manager recognized us from previous visits and stopped by to chat. I had an appetizer and a side as my dinner: the poke plate and sautéed aspargus. Apparently, I devoured the poke before I got a picture. Great girls night out sitting in the bar area!

Google
I liked the place but I ordered the lobster roll and bit down on a pice of lobster shell. Found a few more pieces in my roll. I told the server and they said “oh wow” and handed us the bill. Didn’t think that was right. Rest of the group enjoyed their lunch dinner. Soup was good and salad was good too. Train passes behind the restaurant. Really loud horn but kinda cool. Kids dinner was really nice.

Google
This place is off the hook (no pun intended) good. Atmosphere was a Bar and Grill feel. Very comfortable, casual dress as well. No frills. Complete menu with delicious food. Service was top-notch and very attentive. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the prep process as well. Most of what you order was swimming in the ocean the day before. Fresh and done right from the kitchen. Cold drinks from the full bar were great also Stop in and try this place out Highly recommend it‼️

Yelp
We came here on our staycation for the 4th of July holiday. I'm so glad we did too! We loved the holiday decor and friendly greeting. Our server was nice but we didn't really get checked on as much as we'd like. Their oysters were BOMB! Fat, juicy, creamy and oh so tasty. We happen to come during happy hour and ordered 2 orders. We also ordered the fish tacos and surfrider sushi roll on happy hour. All delish! Not on happy hour, we ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was tasty and the Caesar cheese forward. We like cheese, so that was a plus. Most different. We will definitely come back when in town! Also wanted to mention that this place is in the heart of Carlsbad activities so there is so much around to check out too. We had shave ice after and shipped a little. Super cute area! There was a farmers market going on as well.

Yelp
Lunch was very delicious ! We sat on the patio and it was clean and quiet. Service was good! The burger was supposed to be medium but it came out it came out well done, it was still yummy according to my dad. The fish and chips was crispy, and still juicy

Yelp
Bluewater Grill in Carlsbad is an amazing stop if you're in town! This spot is right next to a large parking lot and is walking distance from the rest of downtown and the beach. We stopped for a late lunch so picked some lighter options. Of course we had to start with oysters - mine and my boyfriend's favorite. They were super fresh and delicious. For our meals my boyfriend had the Crab BLTA. This was a BLT with arugula, crab salad, and avocado. It was light and fresh. I had a bowl of clam chowder - half and half with New England and Manhattan. I'm glad I got half and half , it made it a little lighter than typical clam chowder. We sat on their patio to enjoy the lovely day. The service was great! We'll be back next time we're in town!

Yelp
After a day at the Carlsbad Flower Fields, my friends and I wanted seafood. We checked into Bluewater Grill around 6 PM on a Saturday and the wait was almost 2 hours. We made a reservation for Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar around the same and they also had an hour wait. Bluewater Grill seated us first, around 7:50 PM for a small group. Both locations require in-person reservations, so come early. The staff was decent and explained the menu. After ordering, he notified us that the Lobster Tail ($62) was sold out for the night. Our table shared the Crispy Calamari ($18.50) which paired nicely with the sweet chili sauce 4/5. Cajun remoulade sauce was okay. I ordered the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, MA for ($40) which came with goat cheese grits. The grits were creamy and the pan-seared scallops were fresh - 4.5/5. Restaurant has a private parking lot. Additional parking lot can be found around the corner for free.

Yelp
We sat in the patio with our dog. I loved the patio seating because it felt like you were still part of the restaurant which you often don't get with patio seating. Our server, Sarah was lovely, super nice and attentive (she gets 5 stars). We ordered the oysters Rockefeller, they were good! They had a strong cheese flavor so if you're not into that you might not like them. We tried a cup of the clam chowder, highly recommend. For our entrees we had the king crab legs and the gemelli pasta with shrimp and scallops. The crab legs were pretty standard, nothing new there but it's a staple. The pasta was a huge disappointment. The pesto cream was more of a watery soup. The dish had no flavor which is surprising with pesto, the scallops and shrimp were pale and super soggy. We barely touched it honestly. Overall, I'd come back for drinks and small plates/appetizers, but not sure about entrees.

Yelp
Beautiful stroll through Carlsbad, and we were recommended the clam chowder at Bluewater. Along with the chowder we also had the Ahi Tuna Poke appetizer. I ordered their hot Lobster Roll, and my husband ordered the Wagyu burger. The appetizers were delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the ahi tuna poke with its crunchy chips, and the clam chowder was creamy and comforting. I thought the hot Lobster Roll was OK. Maybe if I ordered the cold option, it would have been more satisfying. It was on the smaller side. My husband did enjoy his Wagyu burger. Was it any different from a good burger joint burger? No, not really... Nonetheless, he enjoyed it. The ambience is relaxing. I loved that alone. Clean, great service, and steps to the shopping. Alleluia!

Yelp
We always like to try new places when we come back to Carlsbad, the Bluewater Grill is fantastic , great ambiance, Great Service by our server COOPER, and great tasting food. My wife ordered the 2 piece Fish n Chips and I ordered 2 Sushi Rolls and 2 Coconut Margaritas. My Cousin. Socorro from El Centro ate here before and I asked what she thought of the place. She said the food and service were phenomenal, so based on that we came And ate. Glad we did and will definitely be one of our Restaurants to come back to when we stay in Carlsbad

Yelp
We came here during our San Diego vacation after reading the mostly positive reviews. The place has a very modern and casual atmosphere. The servers were very nice and super attentive. The manager stopped by and told us they have been here for six years. The seafood tasted very fresh and were well prepared and seasoned. Everything really tasted amazing. I loved my shrimp and chicken gumbo which had the perfect amount of heat. My mom and wife really enjoyed their meals as well. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
After a long day at Lego Land, we needed a delicious meal and some grown up drinks! This place did not disappoint, and actually exceeded our expectations. The seafood was super fresh, and my husbands steak was great (he makes a great ribeye so we're picky about this when we go out). Everything was delicious and we would absolutely return!

Yelp
The food was outstanding!!! We had the lobster with risotto & rainbow trout! Both were stunning!! I'll definitely be back!!!

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal here! Very good service and excellent food. I appreciated the waiter steering us to the Ahi Tuna entree. It was outstanding. The only thing I didn't care for was the Oyster shooter. It tasted like just black pepper.

Yelp
Outstanding trout almondine. New England clam chowder is the best around! Atmosphere and service is impeccable..... Fresh fish to purchase and take home is always fresh ! Check it out !!!

Yelp
Great place to have drinks with friends or nice dinner with family - kid friendly. They have different sitting options such as a bar area and patio. We came here for an early dinner to celebrate a birthday with family from out of town. We made a reservation, which probably was not needed. I was with 3 other adults and 3 kids. I would say it's kid friendly. The adults ordered oysters, scallops, grilled octopus, Mediterranean Ahi Salad, Steak & Lobster, crab legs, beer battered fish with fries, and kids meal one with pasta and the other with pork ribs. Both came with carrots, orang slices and French fries. The adults enjoyed smoked old fashion and coconut margarita. The favorites were the oysters, grilled octopus, New York Steak, and crab legs. The downer for me was the Lobster (overcooked) and Mediterranean Ahi Salad (bland). Everything else was delish.

Yelp
Great service, fresh seafoods, portions were good. I wish I live closer!!! Whenever I'm around this area I'll definitely go back.

Yelp
Super luscious melt in your mouth oysters and creamy clam chowder! Fisherman's platter was plentiful, loved the scallops. Would want to come back just for those oysters!

Yelp
So far, this is my favorite restaurant to eat at when in Carlsbad. I would move to Carlsbad to eat here. Pardon the lack of pictures displayed as we ate at around 7:40pm and just wanted to consume food, good food. Very nice setting , tables and booths. You can choose to eat outside as well. First of all, exceptional service.very attentive staff, with all aspects. Now the food part. First....Appetizers.... Maryland Crab Cakes-I don't know if it can get better than this. Cooked perfect. Baked Crab& Artichoke Dip-I couldnt stop eating this. New Enlgland Clam Chowder-I could've eaten this for main course, but small size was enough. Main Dish.... Prawn Linguine-Pan seared shrimp in marinara sauce. Pasta cooked perfect. Desserts - Keylime Pie and Bread Pudding. Both are must have. Somehow, I ate the Keylime Pie before I finished the Linguine. I definitely need to go back to try the Gumbo and the Cioppino. Also, there's a parking area for this restaurant. The area, you'll have to find a spot within the streets and neighborhood somewhere. So, this was helpful.

Yelp
Date night. Love this place and we got lucky with Kody. He was there checking on us all the time. Started with Debs favorite oysters and for me clam chowder! Plus a nice bottle of wine. So far so good. Tgen is checked in and saw we got a 50% off craft cocktail. Kody had never seen this Yelp thing. But we got it and the Mai Tai was great. Panko shrimp followed and the night was great. Oysters... fantastic Shrimp also good, could use an inventive sauce for dipping. Potatoes were new and so much better than fries. Space is pretty and nice to see it busy. Great free parking. Thank you Kody!

Yelp
Visited Carlsbad for the first time and this restaurant was recommended. Food was delicious and service was great!

Yelp
First time here. I loved the sauteed sanddabs our waiter, James, recommended. He was an exceptional waiter. My niece enjoyed her lobster roll. Mom didn't care for the fish and chips. We ordered a Caesar salad that was very bitter. They use lemon in the salad dressing. That should be noted on the menu. Our waiter removed it from our bill. The coconut margarita was yummy! One suggestion for the handicap parking spots is to be moved in front of the door with a ramp. It would've been so much easier for my mom and her walker.

Yelp
Their shrimp cocktails are legit, good size and cocktail sauce is bomb. Also got their half and half new england clam chowder and manhattan chowder. Both were tasty. Their fried fish and chips were very tasty. I got their seafood (lobter and crab) roll and it was tasty, served on brioche bun. Nice place to get fresh seafood cravings fulfilled.

Went in for lunch today and Kendall was our server. Super friendly and great service. Would come back again

Yelp
Being in town from landlocked Colorado and by the ocean, we were interested in trying some seafood while we were in Oceanside, and we were happy about our choice with Bluewater Grill. There was a variety of seating options, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance - which was upscale yet comfortable for a family. I got the New England clam chowder, which was on point, and delicious, as well as the blackened Ahi Tuna. It was seasoned to perfection, packed a little heat but not too bad, and when added to the sauce, created perfect balance. It was also cooked to perfection, which is always clutch with Ahi. My wife got the Mahi Mahi, and was also happy with her selection. They had a great kids menu, and our son enjoyed his meal, which included carrots, breaded cod, orange slices and French fries, with worm and cookies and cream iced cream for desert. The adult desert was also lovely - authentic style key lime pie, a favorite. The only thing that could've been better was the service- we'd thank the buss boys, and didn't get much of an acknowledgment/response. Our desert also was forgotten initially. However, maybe an off night- we'd come back!

Yelp
We orders half shell oysters, sashimi trio and scallops. They were all fresh and tasty. Staff is nice and friendly.

Yelp
We had an overpriced dinner here. Service was good but the food quality for the price was out of whack. Right away it was obvious the hostess did not want to seat us in the dining room. We came in at 8:30 pm. They close at 9 pm. She highly recommended we dine in the lounge bar area. Clam Chowder was good. It was thick and creamy with potatoes and clams. Wife had Misoyaki Butterfish Black Cod. It was a bit greasy. Not awful but not a $40 fish dish. Their chipotle dirty rice as a side was just ok. We thought their calamari appetizer was light and fresh but also overpriced at $18.50. Dinner for two w/ tip was $125. You can eat better and get dessert for near the same price and better places. One good thing was plenty of free parking.

Yelp
Bluewater Grill is terrific. It is out go to place when we want to take.someone to a special meal. It never fails to accommodate our need for a good meal near the water. We have yet to find a place that we like as well. The food is good, the portions are generous and the ambiance is warm. We have never had a bad meal or poor service.

Yelp
Beautiful and busy restaurant. This is located in such a nice area of Carlsbad. There are so many cute places to shop and eat, so you can easily go for a stroll after a delicious meal here. Bluewater Grill was super busy on a weekend night, so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. We were seated promptly, and offered sourdough bread with butter. Delicious! I ordered the scallops entree with goat cheese grits, clam chowder, and a steamed pot of clams with white wine and garlic. All the plates were cooked perfectly. I would come back and order the same things. The scallops were nicely seasoned, and I was surprised that the goat cheese did not overpower the entire dish. Bits of corn and asparagus helped round out the dish. The clams and broth smelled amazing, and was especially nice to dip bread in. Our waitress was attentive.

Yelp
Came in last Friday. Our sever was great. Knew a lot about the dishes and seafood in general. Looked like he spent a lot of time on the water as a surfer or possibly even working on a fishing vessel. Was a great dude too. The food was hit and miss. Of course as always happens, what I ordered failed pretty miserably. The mussels we ordered were served in what was just some canned stewed tomatoes and a whole bunch of wine. Was no development of the broth. Oysters were really good and very fresh. Octopus and the brava sauce were also good. Very Spanish. Girlfriend got black cod that was flaky and tasty, the eel sauce was a great accompaniment but a tad too much all over the plate which made the rice taste like horking down a sugary glaze. My Cioppino was as an utter disaster. From the shrimp and fish tasting rubbery and tough like it had been cooked on high for 12 hours to the broth not being broth but like a straight up marinara sauce that one would put on a pizza. Let my friends taste it and they were like damn bro you just got some seafood with pizza sauce thrown on top of it. All in all a cool little spot with some okay seafood that does the trick.

Yelp
Bluewater Grill is a great casual sitdown option for fresh seafood in San Diego. I've been to Bluewater a few times and have always had a good experience. I always end up getting a fresh fish entrée but it's everything else that makes me really want to go back again (bread, appetizer, sushi, cocktails). Don't ignore the sushi. It was really good here. If I had to do it again, I would have ordered mostly sushi rolls and skipped the fish. My meal was perfect, with one exception. Their lobster cocktail was a tough, chewy mess. Some pieces were more like jerky in texture. That server did candidly mention at ordering that some of their appetizers can be hit-or-miss with the customers. Again, you won't miss with their sushi. NOTES: - Stiff cocktails. - The best bread. - More of a celebration place than a romantic place. - Very noisy inside. - Family-friendly - larger tables inside. - Parking can be a nightmare on summer nights and weekends. - Best to get reservations, especially if you want the patio or require larger tables inside.

Yelp
Good atmosphere and great food. It was busy but was able to get the order in a decent time. Thank you for the hospitality

Yelp
Location: Ample of parking, which was nice. Service: Great service. Drinks: I asked for an iced coffee, they didn't have it. They don't have Splenda either. They said that they only do basic coffee & tea Food: For the appetizers we got the Crab & Avocado salad and 1/2 dozen Oysters. The oysters were fresh and great! The crab & avocado salad was VERY small for the price. Barely any crab. Main: Grilled halibut with coconut ginger rice & sautéed green beans - the halibut was a little dry, but the rice was SO DISAPPOINTING! Not only did it taste like instant rice, but it had absolutely no hint of either coconut or ginger. The green beans were pretty oiley as well. Overall: Probably wouldn't go back because the food wasn't anything to rave about.

Yelp
Made reservations here thru open table. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the host. As soon as we were seated, a server came by with water and a carafe and also brought us hot fresh sourdough bread. Our assigned server soon came out and introduced herself. Ada was kind, pleasant, attentive and very knowledgeable with the menu. We ordered the following.... *Wedge Salad with Bacon -Blue cheese dressing, grape tomatoes, and red onion I enjoyed this as my appetizer. The dressing was creamy and a good pairing with the salad. *New England Clam Chowder Sea clams, cream, celery and potato I enjoyed the soup as well. Perfect amount of clams in every bite. *Fisherman's Platter Panko prawns and scallops with beer battered Alaskan Cod, fries and cole slaw I enjoyed the scallops, they were juicy and plump. The fish was delicious and same with the shrimp. The coleslaw was ok. I loved that it wasn't overly salted. I appreciate that. The Seasonal Special *Seafood Paella Valenciana Shrimp, clams, mussels, Spanish chorizo, and chicken atop arborio rice with saffron, petite peas and red piquillo peppers That entree was good too. I enjoyed all the flavors including the shrimp, clams and mussels!! I believe as we were enjoying our meal, a manager stopped by to see how we were doing. The service here is over the top awesome and the staff work well together and help each other out. The ambiance is welcoming and the restaurant is well kept and clean. I loved the festive Christmas decorations around the restaurant. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Yelp
Never got our food. Waiter didn't say anything to us for an hour before telling us he'll go check. It wasn't even busy he had about 2 other tables. I had to be the one to say I just wanted to cancel and get out of there.

Yelp
/at the beach, clam chowder/ Favorites were the Manhattan clam chowder in a toasty bread bowl, the calamari fritti, the cedar plank salmon, and the seafood louie salad. Restaurant manager hostess and staff are phenomenal. Seated in a quiet corner booth for the intimate vibes of dinnertime munching, and served promptly after ordering. Food here was a solid 5/5 - if you're looking for well-executed attempts of oldie but goodie staples like chowder, cedar plank salmon, louie salad (they have lobster!), Bluewater is your place!
google avatar

Yianni A.

Yelp
Nice place!! Great New England chowder!! Very nice to sit and relax - great atmosphere. Nice server! However overpriced- had 2 soups, sangria 3 lemonades and 2 salads with a desert!!!

Yelp
Great little spot we walked to on a sunny day! Outside patio was tasteful and right next to the bustling downtown Carlsbad. Warmly greeted by a kind host and served by a lovely one as well! Food was exceptional and not too pricey. Bread was so good we ordered some to go and the family raved over it! We will be back for sure!

Yelp
Excellent food. We were so hungry and excited to try out this restaurant. We ordered grilled octopus 10/10 oyster Rockefeller 10/10 grilled tuna with coconut ginger rice and green beans 9/10. Wonder service, excellent location and delicious food.

Yelp
Great food. Great service and excellent ambiance. The prices were also very reasonable. The staff was very friendly. My wife and I will be returning to eat here our next time in Carlsbad.

Yelp
Solid spot for seafood in Carlsbad. Ordered clam chowder, crab cakes, sanddab, cioppino, ponzu scallops, and fanny bay oysters. The chowder was nice with nice chucks of clams and served with a side of sourdough bread. The crab cake was stuffed with crab and seared with a nice crust on both sides. I really enjoyed the ponzu raw scallops and Fanny Bay oysters, they were both extremely fresh and you can taste it. The presentation is nice on the scallops as well. The service was good and the back waiters were on top of the water and the bread at all times. I would definitely recommend this as a seafood spot to check out while you're in downtown Carlsbad. Extra point for having private parking lot spots! They have a seafood market as you can pick up fresh seafood as well, seems to be decently priced as well.

Yelp
I had the swordfish and it was excellent. The atmosphere was super loud at the entrance which is near the bar but we sat on the patio and it was really nice. Not too loud and had a nice vibe. My husband had the Fisherman's Platter and he loved it also. He got so much food he couldn't finish. We are just visiting San Diego and picked a random place and we were very happy with the choice! It was hopping so obviously a local favorite also. We will definitely be back next visit!

Yelp
Kody my server was outstanding. I had the lemon pepper mahi-mahi. Lemon pepper crust, with scallop potatoes and sautéed spinach with a chili cilantro hollandaise sauce. Amazing! I also had one of their tasty mai tai with that. It was so good. I will definitely be back! Wonderful atmosphere and Pleasant staff.

Yelp
Great service in a fun casual setting - service was great and walked us through some great items to try on the menu. Great flavors but nothing over powering.

Yelp

Yelp
We love going to Carlsbad and are always looking for new places to eat. We definitely will return to BG. Great service! Great food! Open atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Pinching Pennies! The quality and portion sizes used to be generous, but not now. My guest had a crab salad. It was small. The crab looked like it came out of a can. No chunks, just a tiny mash in the center of the lettuce. The only thing large was the price. I had a very small Mahi Sandwich. The Mahi filled was one half inch thick. The bread pieces were also very small. Again, with a large price tag. What a disappointment.

Yelp
Food is good! Our server is knowledgeable, kind and provided great services. Believe his name is Spencer based off the receipt. Cesar salad is a bit salty to me. Nothing too special Mahi-mahi I replaced the lemon pepper crust with just simply grilled. Also went with a different sauce the server recommended. Very fresh and tender! The side potato was delicious. The spinach was too salty though. Overall great! Tried the other dish which is a ahi tuna special. It's a bit spicy. The rice and beans came with it were great! Fish was cooked well. Mud pie is a bit different from what I am used to (typically coffee flavor ice cream). I didn't taste much of the coffee flavor but it's not too sweet and the cookie crust was great combo with the "mud". The wine I got was great! Smooth, semi sweet. I got the 6 oz. Overall good experience. The wait became longer when it's past 6:30 which is not abnormal. A couple minus stuff too salty for me but otherwise it's great. Will stop by again to try some other dish when around the area

Yelp
The place have a very cozy ambiance, our server were pretty knowledgeable with the menu and able to give clarity to our question, all of our food were amazing I had the fish and chips and I completely enjoyed it, the breading is thin enough that you can still taste the fish but still feel the crunchiness of the breading which is great. I was able to try the Pasta's too they were very savory.

Yelp
What wonderful staff...they were so wonderful and helpful. I inadvertently booked our Mother's Day Lunch on the wrong day and they figured out how to move things around and accommodate us in no time. The food was also scrumptious! I would definitely go back!

Yelp
So I've been here once before for breakfast a few years ago with my dad, husband, & baby girl. I had an okay experience then, and I had an okay experience this time. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't amazing either. First, when we walked in, we had tons of staff other than the hostess (assistant manager) walk by and not say a word to us for 5 minutes... then finally the hostess came and helped seated us but you can tell she was a big busy too. Next, our waiter came by and dropped off bread and left, then came back again asked us if we wanted to get anything to drink and we were good with just water so he gave us a few minutes to browse the menu. The menu wasn't bad, but definitely over priced for many things... granted the food is good yes, but so are a lot of restaurants surrounding near by and they don't charge nearly as much. So we ordered two apps and two mains. Calamari & crawl fish for app & just a salad & cup of chowder for myself. I got our daughter chicken... which if I can be honest.. was better than both mine and my husbands food. Her chicken was fresh & hot & great. But her food came out first before our apps even... we waited for our apps 10 minutes after she got her food, and another 15 to get our entrees. Apps were good, but our entrees were not. My husbands salad was so salty he said it was like eating the seaweed straight of the ocean. Then, my cup of clam chowders had hardly any clam in it... I'm sorry to say but be truthful.... I've gotten more clam in a progresso can of clam chowder soup... Then, our waiter never came by to check on us after, until after the hostess checked in on us and she gave us the check. Then our waiter came by and gave us our boxes... and that was the last we saw of him... As we were leaving I saw something odd too... there was rice in our salt shaker... I mean maybe it's so pulls the moisture out of the salt or something but idk I thought it was weird... I've never actually seen that... anyway it was an okay experience... Pros: great atmosphere, plenty of things to do near bad, food quality isn't poor. Cons: a bit overpriced, busy (non attentive) staff, food quality isn't great either.

Yelp
I expected much better! Sorry. The service was great. The food - so-so. Crab and artichoke dip- no taste of crab and so very thick, I didn't like the taste at all. Oysters Rockefeller was okay, kind of dry cheese in top, I would prefer more juicy thinner cheese top. Crab BLT- just regular nothing special. Crème brûlée was too oily you can see the oil on top and consistency was wrong- not smooth but kind of cottage-cheesy kind. I wouldn't go there again.

Yelp
Excellent seafood in a nicely appointed restaurant. Good service. Makes for a very nice evening out.
