"Taking over the space formerly occupied by Australian coffee cafe Bondi Harvest, Blueys is run by the same team, keeps much of the same menu - yes, they’re still making breakfast bowls and brewing flat whites - and the same cool, casual atmosphere, too. But they have added dinner service, and expanded their outdoor dining area, which makes Blueys an even more ideal spot for a coffee, a healthy bite, and a chat." - James Montgomery

Maybe I didn’t order the right stuff but I found Blueys in Mar Vista to be just ‘ok’ (kind of like the ‘melty face’ emoji) I had higher hopes.. it wasnt bad but it wasnt outstanding The pros -lots of open space to hang out and enjoy your meal, whether back patio, inside or front outdoor area which lets you bathe in the sun on a good day -food came out relatively quickly -the brekkie burrito was tasty! Even with the soyrizo The not so pros -having to line up to order food at the counter vs table service (can take a while… ) -the squash pancakes had so much potential but were very underwhelming :/ (granola felt too sweet too, while pancakes were just meh and kinda dry) -the smoothie (mango + coconut milk + ginger + mint) was ok, nothing to write home about. They only add a tiny tiny scoop of protein.. and if you ask for another, you’re paying extra for maybe 6-8g protein, if you’re lucky? (To be confirmed but my guess from asking to see the scoop size) Might consider returning for lunch or dinner. But for someone who ranks breakfast as their favorite meal, it was ‘just ok’

Starting off with a “heads up” - no cash accepted here. Luckily I had my phone and could pay electronically (I went out for a walk without my full wallet) I had a lovely weekday breakfast here. I like the back patio, as it’s much less noisy than the sidewalk terrace. I got a lox bagel- next time I’ll ask that they hold the dill (personal preference). I like the water station, and the choice of glassware for the coffee drinks. Random positive detail: real napkins. Nice touch. I came by foot, but I imagine that parking might be a challenge. Additional small details I liked: artwork, friendly counter service. Things I could do without: the default tip options on the electronic payment system- 18%, 20%, 25%. I know from my own experience as a server that a “tip earner wage” is often low, but for me, a quasi self-service joint is a place for 15% max tip. The server takes ONE trip to drip your food, then one additional to pick up your plate at the end. If I could tip anyone extra it would be the dish washers. (They work really hard/ not sure if they get a slice of the tips…)

The ChiLAquiles were very tasty and crunchy. They had a little kick to them. Next time I will order with 2 fried eggs and some extra cheese just my personal liking.

First time in the Mar Vista location (I prefer the Santa Monica one). Outside street seating area is good. Might run into long lines on weekends but the food is worth it. I love the squash pancakes. They are surprisingly good!

Great friendly staff. Plenty of seating. Had the chiLAquilez. I'm mexican and I can honestly say, there was too much pepper and not enough salt. But the presentation is beautiful non the less. I mean, look at it 😆 I like my chilaquilez savory which was lacking but the spice...woah. nasal pasage clearing so 👌 but i did have to use hella salt to add flavor and combat the black pepper. Instead of the radish maybe jicama would be a better palette cleanser. The dish is already spicy the Rabanos made it even spicier lol. I think if you offered an extra side of the crema and maybe a slice of the queso fresco it would definitely even out the dish. Loved the avocado and the crispness of the chips. The salsa on these is definitely homemade so no, ur not getting a plateful of pato sauce. Would i get it again? Most likely no, but i am looking forward to trying their chorizo bfast burrito next time. A little pricey but in this economy, indont blame em. I tried their $7 fresh squeeze orange juice that came in a tiny cup but i will say - that orange must have come from mount olympus because, damn. That was good. I just wish it was maybe 10oz or put over ice with some water. Friendly and cozy overall which is something i find refreshing in this day and age. Would bring my friends for brunch for sure.

I liked the atmosphere, cute patios back and front. Inside was spacious, but it’s really loud. The food was decent. Lavender tea latte I ordered was pretty good as well, but those drink prices on the menu have to be fixed or need more explanation by the cashier when ordering . So Lavender Tea Latte on the menu was $4.75, so you think you need to pay only $4.75 right? but without any explanations, they just charged $5.75 instead of $4.75 Looks like no one complained about it before, but how could I know that there’s different prices if only one price is on the menu. We didn’t know that there’s different sizes for lattes. We thought they were only one size for every drinks. They should delineate the price on the drink menu at the beginning. If not, it’s like they are hiding the price. The cashier lady at that time did not seem like she really cares. Not even trying to help us. Only she said was , okay so do you want the small size instead? So that’s really disappointing because she could have said to us instead of saying that, the latte on the menu is the small size. Understand that you get confused, I can give you a dollar back for this time, or something! And I also ordered one fresh squeezed orange juice, it’s $7.67 . It came out really a tiny glass … Overpriced . The busboys came to clean the table so often, which is good, but while enjoying chatting with friends, so many times they came back to our table and asked us they can clean the table didn’t make us feel comfortable. It feels like they wanted us to leave or something.

Google
Not sure why this spot has 4 stars, I find it is reliably tasty. Love that it’s walk up ordering so you don’t need a reservation for a brunch. We frequently go with big groups and there’s always tables to accommodate us, even though the place is consistently busy. There is always a line but it moves really fast! Love the food, our group has tried pretty much everything and it’s all good! I personally enjoy the chilaquiles, squash pancakes, and breakfast burrito, but you can’t go wrong! No frills, cute and vibey, but relaxed for anytime eating. Glad they’re in our neighborhood! Also really helped liven up a typically dead zone of Venice Blvd. Kudos!

We live in the neighborhood and really love the food here but the service is so inconsistent and honestly frustrating. We came Friday night for dinner, and sat in front of empty water glasses and menus for 15 minutes so we just left and went somewhere else. We then come back for lunch on Sunday, order and they say it will be 25 minutes. My partner gets his food within 35 minutes and my salad took 45 minutes to come. He was finished by the time I got my food. Absolutely not cool. Please work on this.

Yelp
I finally had the chance to dine at Blueys in Mar Vista after passing by so many times, and I was excited to check it out with two friends on a Friday night! We were seated outside, which was pleasant, though the experience was slightly dampened by some patrons smoking near a nearby bar, definitely something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to that. The dinner menu wasn't overly extensive, but it had some solid options. I was between the steak and the pasta and ultimately ordered the Homie e Pepe, which was packed with flavor and a satisfying choice, though I believe it may have been replaced by another pasta dish on the current menu. One of my friends, who had previously enjoyed the Bidi Bidi Bahn Mi, opted for the Fish & Chips this time but found himself wishing he had gone with his usual favorite. On the other hand, my other friend ordered that sandwich and really enjoyed it! The overall ambiance was casual and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. While I had a great experience at dinner, I'm holding off on that coveted fifth star until I come back for brunch... I've heard amazing things about their breakfast/brunch menu and I can't wait to try it for myself! So, yes - I'm already looking forward to my next visit...!

Yelp
Bluey's in Mar Vista is a charming and inviting spot with a relaxed atmosphere. While I'm not a fan of the over-the-counter ordering system--pay first, grab a number--the service was seamless. The staff was incredibly polite and attentive, making the experience feel just as good as full table service. As for the food, it was a mix of hits and misses. The breakfast burrito was outstanding, especially when paired with the deliciously spicy salsa. The crunchy tater tots with cheese, avocado, and bacon were delightful--crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. The matcha latte was average, meeting expectations but not exceeding them. The biggest letdown was the squash pancakes. While they were visually appealing, the flavor fell flat. Without the granola (which overpowered the dish), the pancakes were bland, chewy, and doughy--not the light and flavorful bite I was hoping for. I wouldn't order them again. Overall, Bluey's delivers on service and has some standout dishes, but not everything impressed. I'd return for the burrito and tots but would steer clear of the pancakes.

Yelp
there was a short line to this place and it looked cute so we decided to check it out! weird that yelp does not push this to the front on the search, when i look for breakfast options in the area... not to be conspiratorial but it really should have popped up?!? place looks like it would belong on abbott kinney - but the prices are a lot more reasonable and the food is actually phenomenal i loved everything on my plate for the whirley bowl. the pineapple salsa had a nice kick and was married perfectly with the picked cabbage and cauliflower rice (which is also basically pickled cauliflower as well). the chutney was also great with all the other fixings. healthy and filling. i cannot wait to go back to have this again! loved my husband's formerly prince bowl too - falafel was nice and crispy, the eggs were perfectly soft scrambled - the nuts and the sesame seeds really added a lot of flavor too. the ambiance is cute and it attracts the hip crowd!!

Yelp
Food is amazing! Second time coming here while in LA! The bagel and lox with capers, and red onions were amazing both times! Tried the strawberry matcha and it was to die for! Make a jaunt out to Bluey's people. A LITTLE PRICEY. You won't regret it!

Sarah K.

Yelp
We picked up a bunch of lil fatties (breakfast sandwiches) for our fire relief volunteer group. I ate mine after it had been sitting there for a while and holyyyy it was still amazing! The egg was cooked perfectly and the yolk popped, drenching the sandwich in golden goodness. The cheese, bun, bacon - everything came together perfectly. Will definitely be eating here again!

Ada L.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a weekday. The restaurant was pretty busy, but tables become free now and then. I tried The Bowl Formerly Known As Prince, which was tasty but healthy, as well as the Breakfast Burrito. The prices here are average and good for the quality. I found street parking a couple blocks away in the residential area.

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Parking was easy and while it was busy, there was even more seating available in a back patio. It was pretty kid-friendly, and the food was delicious. We got the Blueys Breakfast, chocolate chip cookie, açai bowl, and the fried egg sandwich without bacon. Everything was so fresh and the nutrition was much needed after a few days spent traveling! It was a beautiful space as well, and the folks working were very helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be coming back during our stay in LA!

Natasha S.

Yelp
Perfect place for brunch, coffee or a quick protein shake. There's something for everyone on the menu. Got a latte, green juice and ancient grain bowl with kale, lentils and chicken. Everything was exactly to my liking. Great service and ambiance. I recommend this place.

Brian V.

Yelp
4+ Vibrant and airy eatery located in Mar Vista. They have that beachside cafe vibe down for sure. in in terms of service, the ordering styles, like a fast casual type spot where you order at the counter and they bring you your food. I thought the food here was good. I met my friend here for some breakfast and coffee. I ended up the breakfast burrito and we sat at the bench seat looking out of the big window. I could definitely see why people like eating here and why the place is so popular. I would love to come back and try some of their other food items.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
I like Bluey's and I think it has amazing potential with some slight adjustments. Food is good but v pricey, though that may just the high price of raw goods and labor. Still it was close to 50 for 2 last time me and the Mister got breakfast. Service is so so for the price. The vibe is good, nice decorations. In the summer the place definitely should invest in screens as the fully al fresco + food = buggy. I don't understand the parking situation at all...every space seems to be reserved for owners? Not a huge deal. Little touches can take it from good to great.

Brian S.

Yelp
I found a clue.. it's Blue's Clue Pleasant charm, welcoming decor, and likable staff. Bluey's Mar Vista corner cafe surviving up a subtle menu full of flavor and presentation. Cozy breakfast atmosphere, the breakfast burrito was good, moist eggs with plenty of avocado and bacon, and the salsa compliments it well. Though, the breakfast sandwich was not worth the price IMO, something you can easily make at home. Good vibes only, would recommend!

Stephanie V.

Yelp
I love this place for breakfast! And I'm so excited they are open for dinner now! Service is always amazing, great menu with we'll chosen plates that they know how to do very well. We had the coconut curry with rice, Bahn Mi sandwich and fish and chips... with a delicious bottle of red wine. The fried chicken on the sandwich which seems to be the same for the milanese plate is thin, crispy, juicy.... They have beer, kombucha, and a few other good drinks. Love the ambiance, and the outdoor/indoor areas with good music and stylish wood tables and chairs. Easy to find parking.

Melinda C.

Yelp
Vibey, coastal LA interior. Food was full of healthy ingredients and it's insta-worthy. The Bowl Formerly Known As (fried egg, chimichurri dressed cauliflower rice, housemade falafel, pistachio dukkah, kale, housemade hummus is gluten-free. For the $16 price point I would try something else next time. The Sweet Squash Pancakes (squash served with sweet avocado, mint, housemade gf granola and berries) were also $16. They had a bouncy texture and quite a small portion. My friend prefers this location over the santa monica one and likes their coffee (latte art nonexistent though). I'd consider revisiting to try the other brunch items.

Jessica S.

Yelp
For it being a sunny day, prime time for brunch & quite busy outside we were able to get as a large group immediately. Super lax vibe & cute/aesthetic ambience. The tables were spaced out though so you definitely still have your privacy. Pretty much everything coming out looked great but i loved the blueys breakfast if you like the classics or the breakfast sandwich. We also loved their homemade hot sauce! Also definitely get a smoothie when you go! This is the perfect hangover cure & brunch spot for friends.

Joanne D.

Yelp
This place is so cute! It's close to the beach and Costco. I found this place on a whim. Came here with my dad for brunch. Food is really good, there's many different options. The service is great! I will coming back with my friends.

Tony T.

Yelp
The fish and chips was alright I would recommend getting the banh mi since there is more flavor. The outside patio can be provide a good ambiance but during he night the bar next door attract a lot patrons that also smoke which can make it an unappealing environment. Service is usually quick but I think they are still working out some kinks

Yelp
April 30, 2024/Mar Vista: Blueys was on my list to eat, since there's usually a line out the door! The food was colorful, flavorful, and the location was beautiful! Sweet Squash Pancakes ($16): At 1st glance, colorful, piled 3 stacks high, decorated with vibrant, fruit, granola and mint and looked absolutely delicious! It was tasty, not as sweet as I imagined... However, intriguing enough to make me possibly want to order it again! Tried a bite of my friends, sautéed mushrooms, and sautéed kale and definitely will order that next time! Decor: Beautiful inside, seemed very beachy! I can definitely imagine it here at the beach! Cool paintings on the wall, nice outside area where we sat at the front patio and love the lighting inside! Personality Plus: Our server with pretty long black hair was so sweet & attentive! The gentleman saw us looking for a place to sit and also showed us that they had a patio in the back as well, super sweet as well! Also, the cutest little dog across the way kept looking at me and I spoke to its owner briefly! Customer Service: Upon entrance, we grabbed a menu. It actually wasn't busy for once, quite yet. Eventually, while looking over the menu, since you have to order at the counter, the woman at the counter asked if we were ready to order. I paused... said HELLO to her... and told her it was our first time at the restaurant... Then...she said... hello and became helpful with the menu... Not exactly the most welcoming at first & my friend thought the same. After we were done ordering, a line was starting to form behind us! Overall: Blueys is a beautiful place with a beachy vibe, colorful & tasty food! I would enjoy exploring more on the menu... and also, maybe at the other location!

Edwin R.

Yelp
A very cute place that has a very good vibe. There's nice indoor and outdoor seating with very pretty decor. We tried the breakfast burrito and squash pancake. In the city of the breakfast burritos the competition is tough and Blueys breakfast burrito didn't particularly stick out. The squash pancakes were a unique dish that was hard to pass up. Overall good but not great. The service was very good and all the staff were really friendly. Overall a really inviting and friendly place. Would like to back and try more of the food items.

Ashley S.

Yelp
We get the breakfast burritos : 1 bacon and 1 chorizo! They're delicious. The coffee isn't bad , I'll need to try it one more time when I can actually sit and enjoy! It's a beautiful spot and I enjoy walking there on a weekday. Please be mindful that it gets extremely crowded on the weekends. I'd like to add that Sarah is super kind and helpful and I'd totally recommend this place.

Gem S.

Yelp
Cute neighborhood breakfast place. I love the food & the service is quick. Love their matcha & coffee.

Emmy M.

Yelp
What a great breakfast spot! My latte was perfect which isn't always the case. We ordered and shared the chorizo burrito which really hit the spot. Service was friendly and efficient! Seats in the sun and out back. Inside seating had a great vibe!

Emily D.

Yelp
I finally stopped in to try this place that I've passed so many times and I'm so glad I did! The vibes are immaculate, with both indoor and a spacious outdoor seating area (front and back). Ordering at the counter is easy and the food is very yummy! The avocado toast was very well seasoned and had like 3 avocados on top. Def a great place to go on a nice day and sit outside.

Yaka M.

Yelp
Food, vibes and staff are all ! Parking is easy and love the quiet location. Just a bit too busy but still love this place.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Took thirty minutes to get a breakfast burrito and pancakes. Poorly managed to say the least. Inefficient service . Would never dream coming back here again . Id recommend going to another blueys location. But from my experience, they all share the same snail-mail service

Brittany K.

Yelp
Quality of food and service has gone down to the point where it's not even worth it anymore. I paid 29 for a coffee and a burrito just to have all of the ingredients in their own corner. Chicken all at the bottom, pickled onions all at the bottom, tomatoes all in one corner, you get the picture. Coffee was extremely subpar. I asked for my drink to be stronger because what she suggested turned out to be tea... and I had to pay $4 for 2 shots. Cool now my drink turns out to be $8! Not sure why it's so hard to make a decent burrito...

Danielle G.

Yelp
my usual brunch spot. love the food here. it's hella expensive but i think worth it. always get the whirley bowl which has various veggies, a pineapple salsa, and a beautifully cooked salmon filet. we also like the bowl FKA which has delicious falafel, the veggie stuff, and hummus, egg... etc. i added bacon tho and they do have good bacon here. none of that precooked paper thin bacon like i've seen elsewhere -,- cute spot really hip with beachy vibes. everyone loves the green pancake which i have not tried but my friend ordered it once and she liked it. the coffee is life changing. matcha, a little light on the powder. go with the coffee ;) long line on sundays so be careful.

Tricia W.

Yelp
Overdue review.. The iced coffees here are my favorite - the food and service is always on point every time I visit. Big food portions too which is a plus. Never have to wait too long either and the people that work here are always sweet.

Gene D.

Yelp
Great bfast joint in MV, near Venice. Try to sit outside if you can. They have seating outside, inside, and in their patio. So, there is ample seating for everyone. On the weekends, do try to get their early as the line for the walk up counter can get rather long. Drink and food items are delicious and filling. I do not think you can go wrong with anything they offer. They do have a few items for lunch and I was attempted to give one (Crispy Chicken Sandwich) a try. However, their Chorizo Bfast Burrito had my name written all over it. They also have a few specials in honor of the season, etc. One such example were their Pumpkin Panckes. Delicious according to my youngest!

Christina P.

Yelp
Came in here with a friend on a Friday for brunch. Free street parking in the neighborhood area was easy to find within a block of the restaurant. The menu had so many delicious-looking things that it was difficult to decide on just one for each of us. I ended up going with a market bowl where the fish was a nicely cooked salmon filet and my friend went with one of the burritos that looked amazing. Under consideration were the bahn mi and the flavored pancakes so I might come back for those the next time I'm in the Mar Vista area. The place was pretty full but there were still a couple tables inside and on the back patio so we didn't have to wait to find a table. The decor feels like desert boho with pale earth tones and plenty of plants. The coffees came out quickly and then we waited probably 15 min for the food to come out. The burrito looked small but ended up being filling. My bowl was AWESOME! The flavors were bold and it was definitely filling. Salmon, pickled cabbage, avocado, a grain of some sort (?), and a delicious green sauce on it. The pumpkin latte was great. Large cup, nice latte art, and great flavor. I wish I had stirred it while drinking though because all of the flavoring settled to the bottom and was undrinkable by then... but that's totally my fault. I ordered an iced matcha horchata latte to go (sounds delicious, right?) and it was disappointingly bland. Come for the food and the ambiance. Be particular about your coffee choice as some are better than others and for the $$$ you pay for the coffee, you want it to be worth it.

Judy S.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots for brunch! Incredibly vibey, prices are moderate, lots of indoor/outdoor seating (there are two patios - front and back). I personally prefer the food to the drinks (chai and lavender lattes were meh) - love their salmon and pancakes especially!

Maria N.

Yelp
Such a bad vibe and experience here. Came in this AM with my daughter for a latte before school and the girls at the front were in lala land. Totally ignored my daughter's presence. Had her wait for 20 mins. At 8:00am in the morning?!?! This is the busiest time of day! One employee even proceeded to make herself a drink in front of us when clearly, the line needed to be moved along. So rude! Such a turn off. The nice Mexican lady jumped in and helped, thank goodness, but without her, I might've still been waiting! Jeez.

Joyce T.

Yelp
I was majorly craving some squash pancakes so I decided to visit Blueys Mar Vista. It's such a cute café and you can tell that it's authentic by the number of Australian accents you'll hear not only from the staff, but also from the other patrons. There's no dedicated parking, and the parking lot in the back is for business owners only. I went on a Saturday morning and it was very crowded but there's tons of sitting on the patio inside and in the back patio as well. The line to order moves quickly. I ordered the squash pancakes and the Whirly bowl with market fish, which was salmon. The squash pancakes were delicious! I love how they're gluten-free, and yet they're so fluffy and so chewy as well the sweet avocado makes it creamy, and the granola and berries are just the perfect amount of crunch and tartness. The Whirley bowl was also super delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had that slight crispy outside. I'm a sucker for pickled cabbage, which added the perfect crunch and acidity to the bowl. The cold brew isn't bitter or sour, and I was able to enjoy it without any add ins. Note that the coffee is picked up at the bar whereas service will bring you the food. The food is so good that unfortunately you have to fight the flies for it because the restaurant is open air, there are tons of flies, flying around and hoping to get a bite so be prepared to back them away while you're eating.

Richie D.

Yelp
It took me a few months to learn that Blueys in Mar Vista opened, Dec 2022. Their first location was in Santa Monica, which was my go to but now this 2nd location which is another great option! Staff is super friendly! Attentive and happy to explain anything on the menu. Music is on point. It's a vibe here! Cool artwork hung around the walls. The indoor seating still feels like it's outdoor because of the main large windows which open up and natural light let in from the ceiling. Back patio seating also available. Parking available in front and around the neighborhood. No parking available in the back for customers, only staff. I ordered the Sweet Halloumi - smashed avocado, lemon, pistachio dukkah and grilled halloumi, raw flower honey. $16. And a regular hot latte. I've also tried their sweet squash pancakes in the past, and they are great to share or have on your own if you're truly hungry. Happy they are closer to me and will be back! Be prepared to wait during weekend mornings and for brunch time.

Brit C.

Yelp
The food is delicious. I love the breakfast burrito. I love this breakfast sandwiches. The Açaí bowl is great. The interior and exterior dining space is well lit and open. Great neighborhood, breakfast and brunch spot. Feeds individuals, high school students families. The only thing I do have to say is that service is not friendly. I can't say they're unfriendly, but service feels cold for a neighborhood joint. I've eat there quite often and it's OK not to recognize your customers, but not a friendly acknowledgment is a bit odd. Management maybe the cause? Happy employee greater service.

Ashley H.

Yelp
This place is cute inside - mix of beach and cafe vibes. A little loud inside sometimes but there's also a nice patio. Food is good but not anything anazingZ the prices are just a little cheaper than other brunch places. Order and pay before you sit.

Patty S.

Yelp
The place is welcoming and the wait for food is not long. I have mix feelings. I really wanted to like and thoroughly enjoy my experience here - but it wasn't so. Parking is super hard. I had to park nearly 3 blocks up the street by the elementary school. Ounce I arrived, I waited behind a nice couple to order. The person at the register taking orders never ounce smile or even looked a bit concerned to act amicable. To my misfortune I had a coughing attack right before ordering- I asked for water and the lady pointed to the end of the restaurant dismissing me. My granddaughter went to get the water for me while I went outside. After the drink of water I was fine. I came back and a different person was now at the register... but it was the same blank expression with a poker face that said loud and clear "I am not approchable". Nevertheless, I was there with my granddaughter and determined to have a good experience. The açaí bowl ordered was good. The hamburger was ok. The chilaquiles were nicely presented but, a bit too spicy for me - therefore I ordered a breakfast burrito with the salsa on the side. My latte was good and pretty. Note: the chilaquiles were enjoyed very much by others at the table. We sat on the outside tables. The table was dirty and we waited for someone to come clean it. They did and we enjoyed our food. So- there is really nothing to complain about... but I didn't leave with the feeling to come back again soon.

Jason F.

Yelp
It's a two Minute walk from my house and so we go here a lot! The place, decor and vibe is beach cool. The food is on point and the service is great and relaxed. We've been to Blueys dozens of times and it never disappoints

Abou K.

Yelp
Such a great place to come for weekend breakfast, midday study session, or just some good coffee during a walk around the neighborhood. They have plenty of seating both indoor, and two outdoor areas (the one in the back is covered). Price is average for coffee shop in the area. Staff is kind and knowledgeable. They have you expected coffee shop beverages but then some unique ones. Breakfast always taste fresh and healthy. Each dish I've tried has a good balance of protein and veges which I was super happy about.

S O.

Yelp
Large shaded dog friendly patio. Tasty and healthy bites. I tried the squash pancakes and turmeric latte with coconut milk. Minimalist decor with eccentric art. Nice staff. I usually go to the Santa Monica location but they were closed due to a power outage. Great to have another option not too far away.

Liz C.

Yelp
very expensive for what portions you will get. Went there with my daughter and was shocked at the price after we ate.

Jon B.

Yelp
I have a bit of an unusual review. Stick with me. Blueys is generally very consistent and very good. I eat here often and have never had a bad experience. Today was a different story. For the first time, my food was clearly skipped (by mistake) in the kitchen. I saw three groups served who were in line behind me. I spoke up and the server wasn't helpful as she didn't acknowledge the mistake and fix it but rather claimed it would simply be another 15 minutes. So, I asked for a refund... this is when the manager came out. She was great. She was helpful. She acknowledged the error and corrected it right away and even offered more on top of simply correcting. Bluey's did everything right on the management level and I feel like they deserve a good review. I think this is a good, honest business and everyone makes mistakes. Correcting the mistake quickly is worth grace. Busy restaurants are fast paced and hard work. Treat your restaurants well even in the face of mistakes. Most of them will treat you right.

Yelp
Save the time and the money and don't go to Bluey's. They are rude as f*ck to the costumers. I usually go there to order the "lil fatty" sandwich. So I went this morning and ordered the sandwich how I usually do which is with no bacon and egg well done because I don't eat meat. I get the sandwich and the egg is runny when I asked for well done. So I sent the sandwich back and explained I didn't ask for runny. While I'm waiting for my food, the manager is talking to his friend in Spanish calling me a b*tch because I returned the sandwich. His friend asked what happened and he said I returned it because of the f*cking egg. Obviously they assumed I didn't understand Spanish because they kept talking about me. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause commotion. I eventually got my sandwich and it had bacon on it. As I said before, I don't eat meat so I returned it to the manager and said "sorry to bother but I asked for no bacon on the sandwich and I already returned it previously because of the egg." He proceeded to roll his eyes at me and went back to go fix the sandwich again. So if you guys are in the Venice or Mar Vista area, DO NOT go to Blueys. They are disrespectful to their costumers.

Yelp
Ancient grain bowl was small and only half way filled. It was ok but don't think it is worth the cost for what it was. Service and ambiance was ok.

Yelp
I had lunch here today with my friend. I tried something new. It's pretty healthy. I didn't care much about the yogurt sauce next to the avocado. My flat white didn't look pretty as before because it's made by a new employee in training. I didn't say anything. I understand he needs time to learn. I hope next time when I go back, he will be making my flat white more presentable.

Yelp
I love that this is on the corner down the street from my house. I'm just sad they don't have breakfast potatoes. They serve breakfast with kale and mushrooms. I feel like I'm being forced to eat my vegetables with breakfast. That being said, they have tater tots, so that makes up for the breakfast potatoes. Coffee: I'm not a coffee snob, but I am a huge fan and they coffee just isn't good. It's watered down so I would recommend an Americano if you want some more like coffee, and strong. Breakfast burrito: solid. Not dry and very simple. Eggs, potatoes, and bacon. Very tasty. The line is always long here. I definitely would recommend ordering before you get there. If you want to sit down and eat then you have to wait. They're pretty fast and the manager there is very good at managing and keeps things moving along. I love that they've added outdoor seating in the back. They made it seem like it's not next to an alley and in the front you will forget that you're on is the Venice Boulevard on the inside it's very minimalist. Pleasant enough. All the macramé hanging things are very nice touch for a home feeling ambience. Recommend walking or taking a scooter here. Parking stinks. You'll have to find a meter or park down the block.

Yelp
The wait on a weekend is a while. I had to wait 30 minutes before I received my item to go. Had the breakfast burrito and I'm a bit disappointed. Was excited to eat it and it just ended up being okay. Definitely had a brunch vibe which for some reason I wasn't really expecting.

Yelp
Not great. Two stars for ambiance. One star for food. Ordered three things with my kids: 1) pancakes. Undercooked. And have avocado on them, which does not work. Largely inedible. Hard pass. 2) açaí bowl. Kid ate it up so must have been good. 3) smoked salmon tartine. Pedestrian at best. Salmon was dull. Bread was good. Service is meh. Coffee initially served was cold. Restaurant half empty and ran out of glasses for water.

Yelp
Nice place but no WiFi!! Definitely advertised as a coffee shop imo and would assume they have WiFi but don't. Not a good study spot if you don't have a hotspot. Bought an overpriced coffee with the intention of sitting down for a couple hours to study just to be let down and regretting my purchase. Otherwise it's cute and quiet.

Yelp
Beautiful little cafe on a bustling corner of Mar Vista. The interior is decorated with light, warm, inviting decor that genuinely makes you want to spend time here. It's best for 1-2 people doing solo work or having an intimate conversation, rather than a large and loud group. They don't have wifi so you would be reliant on a hot spot or non-internet tasks. I got the Sweet Halloumi Tartine. The size was larger than expected, fresh, and tasty. My only complaint on the meal is the price point. $16 base price + nearly $2 in tax + any discretionary tip is ridiculous for toast, even if it is a fancy avocado toast. The water cups are also incredibly tiny - I had to get up and refill my cup like 8 times in and hour and a half. Would love some larger cup options. Employees were friendly. Parking actually isn't bad on the nearby side streets (and free). Overall, pleasant and tasty place I'll definitely be coming back to.
