This place has been on my list for a minute, its just been a case of making it here! I travel for work a lot, have visited a lot of wineries and I have to say what I love about this winery is that its welcoming and personable. It very busy for a Sunday! But everyone is being chill and respectful which is usually a little borderline when big groups come together to drink (unfortunately some bad experiences there, elsewhere, lol). Waiting for the live music to start and appreciating the free tasting and half price bottle I snagged before 1pm. The brats are amazing! Especially the Jalapeño cheddar. Overall, I'm a fan and I'd come back. I'm not home often, but given the chance, I'd return.

Google
I want to start by saying this is my first ever google review due to how excellent the staff was. My husband & I were in town for his job and had visited a winery up the road with a bad experience. We stopped here & we were first greeted by the friendly woman in the food shack & sent to see Angie inside. Omg! She is a delight. After all the great samples, we decided on the Angie Special - on a hot day - this was a 10/10! Next, we had Chad deliever us an exceptional pretzel bread & amaaaazing mustard. He was such a joy and even had other drink offerings for us. This was such an amazing experience and we couldn’t recommend it more to locals and/or travelers like us! Stop by & see Chad & Angie!

Google
4 stars for it’s hiking access to the Trail and a nice laid back ambiance. Wine is average for what you would expect in the area. I like dry whites and did like the The Plan B was dry/semidry and hints of fruit. Similar to a dry Riesling. Nice outdoor terrace and an indoor German style sitting room. The Hike: They have a small bicycle parking spot right on the trail. There is a short but steep path up to the winery itself. That hike was a nice change of pace and a good stretch of our legs. I joked that “us hikers “should get a little discount.

Google
Super cute winery with plenty of opportunities for photos if you are on a girls trip/bachelorette party. Free wine tastings, however I preferred the wine slushy. And plenty of space to sprawl out and enjoy the space/patio areas.

Google
The best winery in Missouri. Free tastings, excellent wine, a nice patio, live music – everything you could ask for from a winery!

Google
Had a great experience here. Arrived just as happy hour began. The deal was a glass of wine and an appetizer for $6. Cannot really beat that these days. I didn’t think the wine was as good as other vineyards in the area. The waitstaff was extremely welcoming and very friendly.

Cool vibe. Free tasting on the weekends. Good options. Lots of seating!

Free wine tasting. Bottles bought before 1:00 pm today on Sunday were 50% off. Live band. I enjoyed the wine.very much

Yelp
Great place on a sunny afternoon. Lots of tables and chairs. Hard to find a spot if you come in the afternoon. I like that you can bring in your own picnic items and they have a variety of charcuterie boards and other items for purchase.

Yelp
This is such a quaint, pleasant spot! I've been to a lot of wineries in Augusta but this was a first for me. We rode bikes here on the Katy, and if you're not looking for the grassy patch with the sign you might miss it! It's a bit of an uphill climb but definitely worth it (just wear shoes you don't care about- clearly I'm not a seasoned cyclist lol). The exterior has a garden feel and a super cute patio. Lots of seating room and umbrellas. They have a stage for live performances which was a really nice touch to the experience. They have one room for tastings inside and another for food and purchases of drinks and wine. If you go on the weekend, they sell bottle only so keep that in mind! My SIL and I split a bottle of the equivalent of a Sauvignon blanc. It was a nice and refreshing. My brother got a beer from a hyperlocal micro brewery which is always awesome. For food we split the pretzels and pork nachos. The pretzel looked like a load of bread. It was delicious. The nachos were super good pulled pork! The nacho cheese is your standard cheese sauce you find at a concession stand, but I never met a cheese I didn't like. We sat on the covered patio, and there were lots of tables available. They also have an event space which would be great for a shower or any other kind of get together! The vineyards and super pretty, and there's plenty of parking. Staff were personable and helpful. I'd for sure come back!

Yelp
Fun little winery in Dell Missouri along the Katy Trail and Missouri river in Missouri's wine country.. Route 94 has dozens of local wineries and scenic views of the Missouri River. Blumenhof Winery is a nice oasis! Free tasting!

Yelp
When we stay in Washington, Missouri, our winery hopping itinerary goes: (1) Montelle Winery, (2) Augusta Winery Tasting Room, (3) Noboleis Vineyards, (4) Balducci Vineyards and (5) Blumenhof Winery. Ending our day at Blumenhof. What we love about Blumenhof is they have live music, free tastings and let you PICNIC on their quaint shady property. Their staff is funny, fun and knowledgeable. And their Devil's Den Red is a fan favorite. It's giving German winery and we love it.

Yelp
The ambiance winner for sure of the wineries. There was music and it was such a vibe. The wine, the sunshine, the friendliness. Perfect.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty fun place. They had live music and the free wine tasting (don't forget to tip!) is amazing! Service was warm and welcoming. I'm more accustomed to Napa wines so it was wonderful to try out the grapes grown in Missouri.

Yelp
My family has been coming here my whole life: birthdays, bachelorette parties, Mother's Day, and most recently Father's Day. What sets them apart is that tasting is free and you can bring in your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. They have added more food to their menu including Dogtown pizza and have a BBQ stand. Average price for wine is about $20/bottle. I enjoy the Vignoles which is a semi-sweet. Pro-tip: if you're in a big group you can save $$ by buying by the case. They will let you mix n match - doesn't have to be all the same. My family has taken advantage of this several times! If you don't drink it all you can take the rest home. They will also let you swap the unopened bottles for chilled ones as needed. Mostly outdoor seating, but in the winter there is a little bit of indoor seating and they put heaters and screens to their decks. Also a big hill that is perfect for a picnic blanket date. It's in a valley with plenty of shade so even in the 90°+ temps today it wasn't too uncomfortable. Plenty of parking in the back. Indoor bathrooms. There's almost always live music on the weekends - with a dance floor too.

Yelp
The best ever Winery here in Franklin county .. spent 4 hours at this place beautiful , friendly, and some really Good Wine .. Extremely excellent service .. ! Will be going back.. If u enjoy sweet wine ... pick the Devils Den red wine .. superb excellence!

Mike W.

Yelp
It was a lovely fall day when we went to this winery to celebrate my wife's birthday. The place was clean and the staff super friendly. The wines that were recommended were excellent and we enjoyed the visit. I highly recommend this winery, the wines and the pizza.
google avatar

Yelp
Service sucks. Asked for ice was given an attitude twice. Only two bathrooms and it's always busy. Overcrowded for no reason. Can only buy whole bottles of wine. The food was terrible and cold.
google avatar

Steve G.

Yelp
Super nice outdoor setting area! Great wines! Great food! Friendly staff who are knowledgeable and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome!

Yelp
This was my favorite winery in the Augusta area! The wine is good, the atmosphere is even better. Went on a lovely April Saturday afternoon. They let you bring your own picnic and actually allow dogs! We sat at a table after the wine tasting with a nice chilled bottle and our picnic food and enjoyed the music and even did some dancing. This is the winery we stayed at the longest. I highly recommend making a stop there.

Yelp
We stopped here on a hot Friday in June while biking the Katy Trail. This winery was pretty easy to get to from the trail. There is an option to park your bike right from the trail and hike up to the winery, however, we opted to ride our bikes directly to the winery. It is about a mile off the trail, and we felt pretty safe even though the roadway was pretty busy. I loved that the wine tasting was free, and the bartender was great! I only wish they were able to put our wine bottle on ice, as it quickly warmed on this hot summer day. I would love to return to experience Blumenhof at nighttime with the live music. It was a great stop, and I would recommend checking it out!

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise. While working in Washington, MO I had heard about some nearby wineries and wanted to check at least one out before flying out of state. I randomly selected Blumenhof and was rewarded with not only a nice drive through the country, but the discovery of a great little winery. The venue itself is reminiscent of a nice Austrian heurigen or German farm winery with a courtyard ready for music and brat cookouts (which I saw are scheduled periodically). Inside the chalet-type tasting room was a knowledgeable staff member and a large variety of wines...and all tastings are free. I can be critical when it comes to wine but here again, I was surprised. There were several wines that should have gone home with me but the suitcase was already packed full. Who knew that Missouri could produce good quality wine? Thumbs up for: scenic location, friendly staff, free tastings, good quality wine.

Yelp
We stopped in Memorial Day weekend and this place was happening, full of people relaxing listening to live music. They have a BBQ area in case your hungry from sampling too much wine. We enjoyed tasting the wines and this was the first winery we visited in the MO wine region. We purchased a bottle of white wine and found a picnic table to sit at while we listened to the band. It's a fun place to go when they have live music.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Blumenhof is great! I first came here on the recommendation of an old boss, and I keep coming back. This time we came by and they had a blues festival! Even still, they were very friendly and accommodating about wine tastings.
google avatar

Bec F.

Yelp
We had a great afternoon here! The wine is quite delicious... And not too sweet. Their happy hour is fantastic and their tastings are complimentary. Very lovely & knowledgeable staff! They lost one star because the smoker/barbeque outside spewed smoke once it got going around 5pm. Quite yucky. The live music on Friday evening was fab.
google avatar

Gregory P.

Yelp
I came for the music as I was following a particular band but I was pleasantly surprised at the venue. The ambiance was lovely. Very Alpine German. A lovely shaded courtyard. Apparently they allow you to bring in your own food and soft drinks. That is a nice touch. They also serve food there but I didn't partake so I cannot comment on that. The wine was great. I cannot say that I am always thrilled with the wines in some of these Missouri wineries, but Blumenhof has turned some very fine wines. So not just a pretty face. We had a very pleasant tasting and didn't feel gouged by the experience either. If you are winery hopping be sure to drive to Dutzow and visit Blumenhof.

Yelp
We arrived around 2:15 pm on November 15. There were 3 patrons at the front conversing with the woman behind the counter. We did not receive recognition and realized there was a tasting room down the hall. We stepped up to the tasting bar, only two other patrons were there. Again , no acknowledgement from the man behind the bar. After a few minutes, we decided to leave. A simple hello, would have kept us engaged. Disappointing hospitality. We support our local wineries and always purchase product after tastings. This review is no reflection on their wines since we were unable to taste them. It was still a fun day at the other wineries in that area.

Yelp
Blumenhof is the blue collar bar of the of fancy wineries. This place is the gun slingin' wild west of Augusta, Missouri. Well, that's what I like to think. I need to visit all the other It's super DIY as far as food goes. You show up with whatever food you want and AIN'T NOBODY GUNNA SAY A THING. They have very limited food options so I wouldn't expect much unless you call ahead. They serve some apps that are dirt cheap but when we arrived it was the last one. The wine I had was superb. And during happy hour it's $3 a glass. Dirt cheap! You can't say no to that. You should know that it's alllll pretty much outdoor seating so prepare for bugs and heat! Also, they had live music. The solo guitar wielding act played lots of popular covers and really added to the good ole' time. Make sure to visit some other wineries when you go visit Blumenhof!
google avatar

K D.

Yelp
Quiet winery outside of the main grouping of wineries. The staff is always lovely. The tasting is any/all of the wines you want to try, free. They sell Marcoot Creamery cheese treats. I've never tried the grill, but will return to try it!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Personal -94 winery favorite. Much smaller "family-owned" scale, no great views, but seating is along a hillside with a pavilion style stage for bands to perform all day. You can bring your own food/ non-alcoholic beverage which is great for lunch/dinner. Quality and selection of styles of wine is very good. Favorite is the sweet Ice wine. We are always the youngsters here, few children and few college kids, typical crowd age is 30-50. Bottle price is very reasonable and on the lower end ($15-$20)
google avatar

Yelp
The wine was ok. Highlight: Seyval. When I asked who judged the competitions from which their awards were given I was told they did not know. I asked what the criteria for judging was, "Is it judged by other vintners or sommeliers only?" The lady at the register chuckled and said, "(so-mah-lee-yay)!?! Ha! That's a person from Somalia! Don't you mean (sim-ah-yay)?!" I just said, "Hmmm. That's the only way I've heard it pronounced." The tasting guide was not knowledgable at all. She just seemed bothered. Which, to her credit, most of the clientele would have bothered me too. More drunks than enthusiasts. I'm not being pretentious. Just go and see for yourself. Or, go to Herman or Augusta for a better Missouri wine experience. But, once again, the wine was the highlight. maybe I was cranky too, as it was almost 100 degress and I was on a patio with my extended family, wife and two little kids. I love them all, but my kids were miserable.
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
I only went in briefly for a tasting. I love Blumenhof's setting- very German-looking. The winetender was very personable despite dealing with a busload of people buying wine distracting her from little ole me! The Devil's Den sweet red was my favorite; I bought a bottle to take home. I would love to spend an afternoon at Blumenhof. No complaints!
google avatar

Cara B.

Yelp
I've been to Blumenhof several times and it never disappoints. This is the perfect place to go on a nice spring, summer or fall day. Amongst the big, pretty trees, there is plenty of seating (and lots of shady and/or covered spots) and often in the summers, live music. The best part (besides the wine, duh) is that they allow outside food. Why else have such ample picnic space? They have a wide variety of wines, so you're sure to find a great pairing for that cheese or charcuterie you brought! If you haven't been, or if you haven't been in a while, go enjoy some of their tasty wines and treat yourself to a delightful picnic. You'll be glad you did!

Yelp
This a winery not to be missed when in the Augusta area. Really friendly staff, free samples of good wine (both sweets and drys), and a really lovely patio with live music on the weekends. Thankfully we hit it on a Friday for their amazing happy hour- from 4 to 6pm they have $2 glasses of wine plus $2 bottles of any of their beers. This included Boulevard Smoke Stack Double-Wide IPA and Tank Seven. YES $2 bottles of Tank Seven! Rather dangerous but so very nice after riding nearly 30 miles on the Katy Trail. FYI if riding on the trail, the sign is very hidden. We would have missed it if 2 other cyclists hadn't stopped right in front us. It's set off to right, in the trees. You can lock up your bike then hike up a rather steep hill and the winery is at the top. We got 2 beers and sat out on the patio, which was full on a Friday at 4:30, and listened to the live keyboard player/singer for a bit. Really nice and relaxing.

Yelp
This is a usual stop for my friends and I during our bi-annual winery tours. It's fantastic in so many ways, but I'll give you the most important bullet points: - They allow outside food, so bring your picnic baskets! Snackasboard is never as good as when you eat it on a beautiful patio with some tasty wine and awesome company! Food is available for purchase as well if you happen to get hungry and have no basket to speak of. - The tastings are free and they have about a dozen wines to choose from. My favorites are the Vignoles and the La Charrette which are of the semi-sweet white variety. They go REALLY well with fruits and sugared almonds. - The descriptions of the wines are amusing. (An alluring floral bouquet and seductive citrus and tree fruit flavors make this wine a sensual knockout.. A well-endowed blend of white grape varieties, primarily Vignoles and Vidal Blanc. A voluptuous young beauty that may arouse you with a ravishing scent and rich, ripe, succulent fruit flavors.) Call me immature, but that's funny. And yes, those are direct quotes from the descriptions. - They play live music often which can be fun, or a distraction. Call ahead or check the website if you have a preference and want to plan around it. - This winery is boss. Go here.

Yelp
We stumbled on this winery right off the Katy Trail. There is a bike rack off of the trail and a short hike up to a beautiful valley vineyard. As we were walking by the vines, we chatted with the owner, Michael Blumenhof, who had been picking grapes. What a wonderful host! We felt like it was our own personal countryside (partly because it was a Tuesday afternoon). Inside the german-style farmhouse, we continued our visit and tasted some lovely wines. Our server was also warm and friendly as can be. The wines were new to us, being from California, and we left with our favorite, the Weinstrasse, to enjoy later that evening. An enchanting experience all around. Thanks so much!

Laura K.

Yelp
Our family has been coming to this winery for years. And I really enjoy the food and live music. This year we decided to take a limo for convenience, when we pulled up we were instructed that there was no parking available for limos on Saturday's in October, and that we would have to park 1,000 feet way in a parking lot and walk up the road (which has no sidewalk). We dropped most of the group off and I walked the 10 minute walk with the driver and I thought I was going to be hit by a car several times and my shoes got muddy. When the driver went to get the limo it had mysteriously had its tires slashed while it was parked in that lot they told us to park in! When we tried to talk to whoever was in charge about why they were instructing people to park in an unsecured lot, they could do anything but apologize for it, "It's your fault for leaving the limo unattended" and "It says it on our website" We will not be going back to this winery! After making a big scene he did give us 2 free bottles of wine while we waited for the tire to get changed, so they get 2 stars for that. PS good luck finding a tire in Augusta on a Saturday afternoon! So for anyone planning to go here in October, in buses, limos, etc. the driver should stay with the vehicle! Or just go to Balducci who will let you park close!

Yelp
This is a charming little winery that I really enjoyed visiting. It feels so tucked away even though it's right off of a state highway! They have a great availability of outdoor seating that it perfect for enjoying a bottle of wine with family or friends. They also frequently host live music outdoors which is very cool. The wine server was excellent. My family can get a little rowdy so it's always nice when the person dealing with us can smile and joke around with us. The Seyval, Vignoles, and Rayon D'or were all very good wines. I would definitely love to check this place out again!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Besides Mount Pleasant, Blumenof is my favorite winery in the area. I love packing up a picnic basket with all sorts of goodies, then sitting my ass down and enjoying the wine and live music. Most of the wine is just okay, but like the handsome Chris M. has mentioned, our favorite is the ice wine. Very sweet, but with lovely complexity - it's made with grapes that were still frozen on the vine. Wine, free food (from your kitchen), and live music - a perfect way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.
google avatar

Liz D.

Yelp
A winery open everyday except major holidays? My kinda of place. 80% of the seating is outdoors, either covered or not. take your pick. Live music was rocking and after many a bottle of wine, people were breaking down and taking to the make shift dance floor. Plenty of seating at tables with outdoor umbrellas or take to the shade under the deck's canopy near the wine tasting room. Wine tastings are free, and of all the wineries in this area, this is the least expensive (in my opinion). The are not the greatest quality, but is just fine for a day of drinking and listening to some live, fun music. Although I have never eaten here, there is a little BBQ type building off to the side that serves food. Good to have on hand in case someone from the party has a little too much to drink.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
The couple of times I've been here, I probably should have prepared for a rock concert, because the music was loud! I'm no fuddy duddy, but the volume level of the music is not what you would expect when coming to a winery. The seating area is pretty nice overall. Lots of covered seating or seating that is available under the trees. It's even better when it is a hot day and there is a slight breeze. The wine itself is not bad, but it's also nothing outstanding. The food they have isn't too bad, if not slightly pricy compared to some of the other wineries in the area. Overall, not too bad. It's a nice place to begin or end a day of winery hopping, but not a place I would want to spend several hours hanging out.
google avatar

Mandy B.

Yelp
We rented the side deck for a birthday party and the staff was very accommodating and had great customer service!! The wine was very good and samples were easy to get and unlimited. Also a great plus is we could bring our own food!!
google avatar

Dave N.

Yelp
Great place, great wine, live music on the weekends, dog town pizzas are behind the counter if you didn't byof, live music every weekend, and events such as crushing in the summer where I got a free sample of the actual juice! What a destination to bike out to which is right off the Katy trail

J Y.

Yelp
Great place! We arrived at noon and they were not busy at all. Our party had no problem getting a tablet. They had free souvenir photos of our group and a outside tasting booth. Free live music too! Plenty of free parking even though it was gravel. My only complaint is there was a long line for the bathroom., about 7 people waiting. They have two unisex bathrooms and it's not enough for hundreds of people but I might come back.
google avatar

Erin O.

Yelp
My favorite Missouri winery. The wines are fantastic and the staff is nice. Picnic baskets and non alcoholic beverages are allowed, also during spring-fall on the weekends the brat house is open and has delicious grilled foods. I love and just hanging out here. Just a nice cozy feel to the place.
google avatar

Ken O.

Yelp
One of the many alone RT 94 but one of the most quaint. Nestled in the trees in a great setting. Small inside, not a big open bar like most wineries. The stall was very knowledgeable and and a joy to talk with. Only wish it wasn't raining so we could spend more time outside.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Very good pulled pork! Great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and listen to music on their patio.
google avatar

Jean P.

Yelp
It was a little chilly the day we went, and they had covers set up on their patio. Very cool touch! I wonder if they stay busy enough during the winter months to invest in space heaters. That'd be awesome for when it gets really cold!

D. W.

Yelp
Laid back and casual venue. Nice for enjoying wine under tree tops. Food on site is casual BBQ, very good. They smoke meat on the premises. The crowd of baby boomers gave the place a nice grown-up feel. We enjoyed the live music too. The wine selection was good and happy hour prices could not be beat. We would def go back.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Nice, small locally owned winery. The patio had plenty of seating and the addition of the grill was a great touch even though we brought our own picnic basket of goodies. The dry whites are really good quality and the dry reds are okay...a bit thin bodied and one dimensional. Definitely a must try for out of towners!

Sandy W.

Yelp
Blumenhof Winery is obviously struggling and for a very good reason. Customer service is not a priority, in fact it's not even a consideration. Be cautious when considering them for an event requiring payment in advance. Upon our arrival we were stunned to find nothing set up for our party of 25. That is unless you consider 3 tables and 12 chairs pushed to the center of an old deck at the end of building a $200.00 party room! We attempted to make the best of the situation after begging for more tables, chairs and a heater, since we were not inside as promised. However, we then had to endure the grouchiest so called "Parrot Head" ! How can you sing Jimmy Buffett and not want to have a good time? There are so many other wonderful wineries in our area and so many pleasant and entertaining performers don't waste your time on Blumenhof or Gary Sluhan.
google avatar

Audrey J.

Yelp
So I came here for my boyfriend's cousin's 21st birthday celebration, and it was a good spot. Very pretty. It's not too big of a spot either. They don't really have a menu with food like a lot of other wineries do, you just BYOF. Which is nice, because you can just sit and snack all day, and it's much cheaper that way anyways. If you don't bring any food, don't fret, they have a little cooler inside with some cheese, and small sandwiches. Just not like a wait staff serving food. I had a glass of some sort of their red and white wine here, but to be completely honest... I cant remember for the life of me what they were. But it was probably one of my favorite red wines I have ever had actually! Too bad I can't remember... I think it had something with 'devils' in the title? Hm. Well, if I go back, which I totally would, I will update this review. So they also had a cute little band playing country/rock music... and that was great. If you come with the right people, good wine/food, music is an unbeatable combination!

Michele O.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere with the greatest wines around. The staff is incredible and accommodating. The music is entertaining and fun-never dull or disappointing. We have never had a bad time. It's a wonderful place to go all times of the year and one of the only that has music even during the winter which makes it a great escape on a cold winter day. It is one of our favorite places to go and have a relaxing, but fun time. The food is good from the outside grill, but I love the fact that they don't force you to buy food there- you can bring whatever food you want in. HIGHLY recommend. Great place to watch people too!

Debbie S.

Yelp
After an afternoon of disappointing service at two other local wineries (one of which we just left with no purchase), we had a great time at Blumhoff. The music was good, the wine was great, the staff was friendly and helpful. Blumhoff saved what was a really bad day up to that point! We will definitely be back (it's not our usual winery, but may be now!) and will recommend it to our friends. Thanks guys!! You are great!!
