As a student at Belmont, this used to be one of my favorite places to grab lunch. They had a daily lunch special for 5 or 6 bucks that was a great option for college students on a budget, and the food was easily 5 stars for me - enough that I didn't mind skipping the lunch special and going full price if I wasn't feeling the daily deal. Unfortunately, back as a Grad student, and the lunch deals are gone. I've only been there once in the last couple years, but the burger I had was less the "fine dining" than I remember and more "fancy big mac." The thin, mediocre patties were masked in too much of a house dressing of some kind. It was good, but the kind of good I regret later. Aside from this one food item - I was pleased with my experience. The service was great and I love the big windows and quiet atmosphere. I'll be back for sure, but hope their other menu items have faired better the test of time. I'll happily update this review after trying a few more menu items.

Truly the best food I've ever eaten! This is the only place I've ever actually LIKED a burger. AMAZING Shrimp Fried Rice, AWESOME Pad Thai Wings, and DELICIOUS Lemongrass Chicken Gai-Yang.

Building has a nice aesthetic, however the food was disappointing at best. Hot chicken was actually buffalo and very over-cooked. Water at table was warm. Fries were like soggy McDonald's. Bloody Mary was syrupy. Will never return.

Not what it used to be... Completely new menu, consisting only of fried appetizers and burgers which were not interesting at all... Ended up with the classic burger which was 2 patties and the bistro which was eh... They didn't ask how we wanted cooked because they only make it one way, over cooked. Good wine. Won't come back.

Recently took my family here on a trip to N'ville before a show at the Bluebird. They were excellent at taking a reservation for 6 without much notice but terrible at everything else. The menu presented to us was not the menu posted online. At 7 pm on a Saturday they were out of all entree choices that weren't red meat and didn't inform us of outages until our order had been placed. All 3 parties that arrived after us received their food before we did. Meat dishes weren't cooked according to order(burger ordered rare was not even pink). All 5 dishes except the beef wellington were terrible and my dad got food poisoning from his salmon. In hindsight I am glad he got the last piece and I had to change my order (to a Caesar salad b/c that was the only thing they had in stock I was interested in).The server dropped food from plates onto us as he cleared the table. Other staff, seemingly in management, who looked in on us seemed to have an attitude when we honestly responded to their question of how our experience was going or if we needed anything.

I cannot comment on the food because we didn't get that far. But, my impression of the service was terrible. We stood at the hostess stand for several minutes, were passed by multiple staff members, none of whom greeted us or assured us that someone would be by to seat us. When we finally were asked if we wanted a table, we were informed that they could seat us immediately, but there was a 30 minute wait and a 45 minute wait for food. Not even sure what that means. We left and probably won't give it another shot.

We attended for an underwhelming Sunday brunch. Sub par service. The only vegetarian option was the "quiche of the day", which was out, even though we were there at opening. Other food was not bad, but overshadowed by many other better eating locations in the neighborhood. The setting is nice.

The meal during our first visit (brunch) was alright, but the servers were rolling their eyes and bickering at one another over who got what table in front of customers. Very awkward. We wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, so recently gave it another shot.. only to have another disappointing experience. We were one of only two tables dining (12:15 for lunch) and had to wait 35+ minutes for our meal. The server was inattentive and several members of the staff were hanging out, watching tv near the bar. The staff was more worried about socializing and watching the tv than refilling drinks and checking on the paying customers. We will not be returning.
