BnA_WALL (Tokyo, Tokyo) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Tokyo has fewer art-focused boutique hotels than we would have expected, but the ones that do exist go all the way. BnA_WALL — not a typo — is located in Nihombashi, not far from the Imperial Palace, but it could hardly be more modern. The name refers to the massive mural that greets guests as they enter; the hotel’s Art Rooms are each designed by a different artist, who earns a percentage of the nightly rate. They’re far from luxury-hotel fare, obviously, but make up for it in sheer unforgettability. A speakeasy-style bar cements the hotel’s connection to the youthful end of the local community." - Tablet Hotels

100/10. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and fun. They’ve put a lot of thought into the comfort of everything - there’s good soft, yellow light for evening, each room has their own WiFi (and it’s good), light switches and outlets next to the bed so you don’t have to get up, good water pressure in the shower, excellent air conditioning, etc. the front desk has a bunch of toiletries just in case you forgot anything. It’s just very clear that whoever runs this place has put a lot of pride into it and has the guest experience at the forefront of their mind. The surrounding area is quiet and feels very safe with a variety of restaurants. The staff are exemplary- endlessly kind and patient and even let me print some papers at the front desk. And the art hotel isn’t a gimmick to them- a percentage of profits go the artists, they host art shows, had someone painting a new mural in the stairwell, and regularly have artists come in to redo a mural visible in the lobby. The heart and soul is felt in how they show up and run a business. Cannot recommend enough and hope to be back someday.

The hotel has a beautiful and artistic design. I had read some reviews mentioning that the rooms are small, and they definitely are; however, the bathroom is quite spacious. Since I was traveling alone, that worked out fine for me, but I can see how it might feel cramped for two people in the room I booked. The service was good, and the staff were friendly. There was a special event happening on the day of my stay, and I participated in it. Overall, it was a nice experience.

I was very disappointed with the room. I had expected a beautiful room designed by an artist. The room was the ugliest I have ever seen. The column in the room made the room even smaller. The walls were a drab salmon colour with one blue wall which stuck out and made the room smaller. I kept knocking myself on the sharp edges of the bed. Breakfast was okay but a bit limited. This hotel stay spoilt my stay in Tokyo. I wasn’t impressed with the staff - not that friendly. The shower was good though. The location was good but I would not recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in Tokyo and was quite disappointed with the experience. The rooms are extremely small, with no wardrobe and virtually no space to store luggage or hang clothes, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The breakfast is not buffet-style—you can only choose from four preset dishes, which felt very limiting. We requested to cancel the breakfast portion of our reservation due to this, but the hotel refused, which was frustrating. Because of this , the hospitality was lacking, and I wouldn’t recommend this place for travelers looking for basic comfort or some flexibility.

Delightful boutique hotel with unique, comfortable rooms. The bed is very comfortable. Delicious breakfast and lunch. There aren't a lot of nearby options, so it was great to have this onsite. Small but carefully curated bar. Warm and gracious staff. I appreciate their eco-friendly efforts, too.

We loved this quirky hotel and stayed more than once, enjoying different rooms each time. It was very good value for money which is why we chose it, despite being unfamiliar with the neighborhood. We liked the quieter side of Tokyo and found great food nearby including an incredible banh mi and an excellent pizza joint. The breakfast was cheap and very tasty. The rooms are works of art and a portion goes to the artists.

This feels like it's trying to be something, like there's a lot of effort into being "trendy" like it doesn't feel natural more "HEY LOOK WE'RE HIP AND TRENDY, WE HAVE QUIRKY ROOMS" in reality the rooms are impractical and obnoxious. The urban nest is something out of a movie, it's nice to watch but would it work in reality, no. If you end up with the urban nest, I can't almost guarantee you will trip or fall from one of the steps.

Great atmosphere, great location, great breakfast and sweet and kind and quite well English speaking staff! Room and bed was very comfortable, the best bed we slept in for sure during our stay out of 4 stops in Japan.
