Bo-tannique

"These attractive premises (with a contemporary interior and exposed Bordeaux stonework) are located on a charming cobbled pedestrian square. The fresh cuisine is full of contrasts and draws on influences from far and wide: grilled sardines with burnt miso and Lebanese-style tomato tabbouleh. The fine wine list features mostly organic and natural wines. Friendly service... A recipe for success!" - Michelin Inspector

Bo-tannique is a real find in Bordeaux. It's one of those rare places that continues to surprise you throughout the course of your meal. We were greeted by a cheerful waitress who patiently explained the menu. We ordered a tomato salad, chicken and sea bass. All were expertly prepared and very tasty. The highlight of the evening came when the chef (Laurent?)stopped by our table and spent some time with us. For someone so talented, he had a charming modesty and earnestness that made the evening a night to remember. Before we left he insisted we try his basil sorbet which was, of course, unexpectedly good.

Very pleasant, the music level was low, allowing for conversation. Service just right, attentive, not overbearing. The tuna appetizer was lightly braised, with a ginger sauced that paired very well with the rose by the glass. The poultry with haricots verts was also excellent, I suggest to pair it with a rose instead of a red, particularly in the summer. The tomato dessert was spectacular, light, fresh, perfect for a summer evening. Yes, well worth it on all counts. I applaud the chef.

Perfect spot for a special night Had dinner here with my partner for my birthday while we were on holiday, and it was honestly one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The staff were friendly and made us feel really welcome without being over the top. The food was delicious, and the wine list had some great options—we tried a couple of glasses we wouldn’t usually go for, and they were spot on. The atmosphere was relaxed but still felt special, which was exactly what we wanted. Would 100% come back next time we’re in town.

We had a very nice time eating at the restaurant. The food was great, the sea bream was excellent! The waiter’s recommendation about the wine that we wanted was just what we expected and a perfect match for our meal. We will definitely visit again!

This was really the best meal we've had since coming to France. The Pluma Iberian roast was cook just right, tender and moist, with just enough flavor to keep you wanting more. I couldn't help myself and soaked up all the rosemary sauce off my plate. The tomato with red fruits desert was a surprising blend of flavours that was delightful. I've never had tomatos in a desert and it was a wonderful discovery. My wife has the poultry which was also delicious and my son had the cod. Both those meals were perfectly prepared and delicious. However the Iberian roast was hard to beat.

Amazing! We almost tried the whole menu - This restaurant is recommended by Michelin, and we all agree this place also deserves official stars. If you find this place, try the perfect egg, beef (both starter and main) or stone bass, for example. Everything was extraordinary ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the best food we tried in France so far... Should be awarded a Michelin star soon. Everything we tried was amazing. Truly great food, friendly staff that provided great service, plus an open style kitchen full of young people that obviously love their job. Congratulations to all, highly recommended!

This was our first dining experience in Bordeaux and an unforgettable one at that. What a treat, from the view into the kitchen staff working away, to the lovely servers, to the great ambience, to the absolutely fantastic food (the egg appetizer was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had and a sensory delight, and the lamb was incredible). Make this a must on your itinerary if you’re visiting Bordeaux!
