Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week: May 20 | Eater LA

"Under Brendan Collins’s oversight the Manhattan Beach Boa got a welcome menu refresh, and one of his missions was to spruce up the appetizers: the king crab ceviche features plump, sweet crab in a bright orange pool of passionfruit leche de tigre, studded with fresh grapefruit, radish slivers, and pea puree; the tangy starter transported me to the Caribbean or South America and even reminded me of a meal at Celele in Cartagena. Seeing that level of execution at a suburban steakhouse explains why operator IDG brought Collins on to elevate the offerings — the steaks are still solid, but now the starters are something to write home about." - Eater Staff

Fried Chicken Chain Bojangles Is Opening 30 Restaurants in LA in 2025 | Eater LA

"With outlets in West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Manhattan Beach, Boa has hired veteran chef Brendan Collins to lead the kitchen at all of its steakhouses; Collins, who previously worked at Fia, Fia Steak in Santa Monica, Waterloo & City in Culver City, and Birchin Hollywood, recently introduced dishes such as smoked steak tartare, king crab ceviche, lobster Bolognese (which Collins likely picked up from his stint at Mélisse), dry-aged branzino, and grilled lamb lollipops, along with vegetarian options like a mushroom Wellington with spinach and beurre rouge and fresh-cut mafaldine pasta with wild mushrooms and arugula pesto, and the restaurant has a new location slated to open in Austin, Texas this spring." - Matthew Kang

4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Boa brings a polished steakhouse energy to Manhattan Beach with seafood starters (garlicky scampi), a tasty Caesar (hoping for tableside prep to return), and a wide steak selection including dry-aged cuts and Australian wagyu; the space feels hip and celebratory, offering well-seared steaks (I prefer the dry-aged medium-rare) and more parking than some seaside alternatives." - Eater Staff

The menu here is magnificent! The portions are huge! I didn't get a photo of the chicken parm but it was humongous! I enjoyed the crudo & baklava as starters. The Ceasars salad was also very delicious. Everything i show in my photos was outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful as well.

Google
Food was delicious!! The baklava with goat cheese was super amazing. Center cut steak delicious and the veggies were fresh and crunchy. Our server Josh was super helpful! The only thing we didn’t appreciate is that one person of our party really wanted the burguer but restaurant wouldn’t serve it unless we sit at the bar. Disappointing as we all wanted to remain in the dinning area, while eating our other food.

Google
The service was really good from the hostess to the waiter to all the food servers were very friendly service . the lamb lollipop was spectacular. Very delicious. The Chilean Sea-bass was exceptional and very tasty.

Google
An absolute perfect place for a great steak dinner. My Dad took me to the Santa Monica one awhile back. The food was amazing and excellent service from Selena & Josh. The Manager Vinny was very gracious too. A must when you visit Manhattan Beach.

Google
I’m giving this spot 4 stars because the smash burger is simply chef’s kiss — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with those crispy fries (no truffle oil for me, thank you very much). I usually order their Smoke Show cocktail, but this time I went classic with a Manhattan, stirred straight up — smooth, balanced, and exactly what I wanted. Service here is usually five-star, though I’ll be real — they do love an upcharge. $4 for two jalapeños? Wild. And $2 extra for truffle oil (which I can’t stand anyway)? No thanks. It’s definitely one of those places where the experience depends on your server — the female bartender can be a little heavy on the nickel-and-diming, but most of the other bartenders are super chill and welcoming. Still, despite the markups, BOA Manhattan Beach delivers every time — top-notch food, luxe atmosphere, and a killer burger that keeps me coming back.

Google
A good time with friends. Ambiance is perfect! Drinks are delicious! Food needs improvement. Crab cake is full of bread crumbs and should definitely NOT be classified as a “Maryland Style Crab Cake”. The steak lacks seasoning and per the manager it’s some strange reason why they don’t season with the basic salt and pepper when cooking it. Service is impeccable! I love our waiter staff.

The Baseline: For a Steak House Fine Dining experience, the steak must be of high grade prepared to how I order it, the seasoning/flavors must make me salivate for the meat, there must be side dish offering that accompanies the meat, and the experience must make me feel like I am a part of a special experience that is an incredible steak dinner. September 2025 Review: Food: I had a 12oz New York Strip tonight, marinated skirt steak and frites, and the 15 day dry aged ribeye. The steak is so good at BOA and it will be prepared how you like it (medium rare for the strip). Get the Crispy Tallow fries for an appetizer and you will be happy. I also tried the crab cake and I think I will pass on that in the future (because i am a Maryland Bluecrab snob). The loaded baked potatoes side dish can be a meal unto itself and is awesome. For desert the chocolate mouse is the primo chocolate decadence that we all deserve in life. Service: Great service from a truly professional staff that took care of you as you would expect from a fine dining establishment such as BOA. Water glass was constantly filled up. Ambiance: BOA is upscale and classy in its decor and lighting. Clean bathrooms but there is a massive tear in the wall paper by the urinal that needs repair. July 2025 Review: Food: I have been to BOA several times because my favorite food is steak. BOA does steak really well with an incredible crust and a well cooked to preference center (medium rare with all the care). Sides at BOA are top notch and the loaded baked potato is the size of my fist and then some. This time we also tried the cauliflower tempura which was tasty and pretty unique. The most amazing desert was the amazing chocolate mousse with the liquid chocolate pour (I hope it is on the menu forever). Service: Great service from true professional servers. Water glass was always full. All needs were taken care of. Ambiance: Modern feel and stylish decor that is upscale and classy. You will feel special for going to BOA for a date night. Clean bathrooms.

Yelp
I tried BOA for the first time tonight. We made a last minute reservation and were able to be seated fairly quick upon arrival. It should be noted that BOA is next to a sushi resturant and BOA has a wooden door (not the more visible glass doors). I found the entrance to be a little odd. The service was exceptional and the food matched. This is a great upscale resturant for special occasions or a date night. Their Cesar Salad is prepared table side and was on point. The only way they could make it better is if they made the croutons in house. I'm not sure if they were house made, but they didn't taste like it. Lobster Mac and Cheese was really good. I've had better Mac and cheese but the lobster made it stand apart. Asparagus was what you would expect. Large stalks cooked to perfection. I had the 15 day dry aged bone in Ribeye. I'm not sure how many ozs it was, but it was perfect. The flaky finishing salt was perfection. It was cooked to my liking. 15 days is the minimum a steak should be aged, but it didn't disappoint. I didn't try any of the condiments (don't mess with a quality steak). Overall, I had a great experience and would return when in the area. Pro Tip: they offer 50% off most wine for Wine Wednesdays

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends and was happy by the high quality of food and overall presentation of it. (Had the tomahawk steak with lobster mac and cheese) at the end of our meal. I had split the tip with half on the card and the remaining in cash. Upon the check bill being picked up from the waiter, he began to scoff at the partial tip by card and began speaking at a higher tone so the whole restaurant could hear that we had tipped him a lower amount(not realizing I also had a cash tip). Before we had left the table, he began begging to my wife and her friends for higher tip (before he saw the cash tip). Although we ended up providing a higher tip than 20%. This interaction with staff truly ruined our experience at BOA. I would recommend management review how their staff conducts their behavior when customers are spending over 1400$ at their establishment. Additional notes: we had a napkin in one of our salads when served to us. They did replace it after we notified them of such.

Yelp
Well worth the wait. Ambience, Service and Food taste is TOP QUALITY. Being a foodie and having eaten at over 10,000 restaurants, BOAs steaks are a piece of art. You will thank me. Jamie the manager is AWESOME! He wants to make sure everyone is happy and in the same time he knows the art of steaks. Thanks Jamie! PLEASE ORDER: MEATS: Either the Cowboy Ribeye or - Westholme Australian Wagyu Ribeye********** (cooked medium rare) (Ask for recommended sauces) SIDES: - Creamed Spinach - AU Gratin Potatoes - Truffle Mac n Cheese - Lobster Mashed Potatoes Disclosure: I'm sure all the food is good but this food I tried and can guarantee you will love, if you know steaks. You'll love these 2 that I've tried and recommend.

Yelp
BOA exceeded my birthday dinner expectations! The restaurant's ambiance was stunning, both inside and out. Convenient valet parking is available, or you can opt for free parking across the parking structure. The Boa Fusion cocktail was divine, and the warm Parkerhouse Rolls were a delightful start to the meal. The Scallops & Steak were cooked to perfection - truly exceptional! For dessert, I was treated to a choice of birthday options and selected two freshly baked cookies with ice cream and hot fudge. Managers Vinnie & Jeff checked in on us, ensuring everything was to our liking. Our server, Allison, provided top-notch service throughout the evening. Overall, BOA's outstanding food, attentive service, and warm atmosphere made for an unforgettable birthday dinner.

Yelp
First time visiting Feb 2025 the new Manhattan Beach location that just opened in Oct 2023. On weekends night their entire lot is valet which is suprisingly considering how large their free parking lot is so beware if you go on weekends nights that you will need to park a little further in the general mall parking lot and walk one crosswalk over to BOA. The vibe and atmosphere is not what you expect from a steakhouse or BOA in general at all. In a very good way! It had a lasting impression of a rainforest, garden boho vibe inside. They had plants literally everywhere and raised to about 7 feet tall giving a warm greenery nature vibe along with privacy among the tables and outside. They also had the large tall cylincidral heaters that are normally placed outside on patios but they were inside... how cute!! As for food receommendations - i love the taste and presentation of the spicy tuna cones. It resembled the flavor of poke with a light airy ice cream cone razor thin cone texture The goat cheese baklava was incredibily thin flaky and you could really enjoy the craftsmanship that went into making it so thin and flaky and still hold it's structure. The cheese was also warm and melty which was so pleasant since baklava are typically room temp and very crunchy and hard! BOA's baklava was melt in your mouth light and airy but still packed a ton of flavor with the goat cheese warmed up it really has a strong funk flavor if you are a cheese snob you will definitely enjoy it! The roasted bone marrow was a fun and nicely presented dish to share The blue crab was presented nicely with the dry ice underneath I did notice for all their desserts they make it memorabl with the large flare candles regardless of the ocassion or if there even is one. I believe they bring it to every table as far as I can see with desserts. I did appreciate how quiet the music and ambiance was. They have dimmable table lights too which is nice.

Yelp
This steakhouse has a great ambiance and also really good food! They do offer valet parking but there is also structure parking too. The service was also pretty good. The menu has a good amount of options, but not a ton. We started off with the Caesar salad (we were told its the best in town) and they actually come to your table and toss it in front of you. I liked the salad and thought it was actually really good. I ordered the 15 day dry aged rib eye steak, cooked medium rare. When i got the steak it was cooked more medium, I didnt even bother sending it back since I didnt know how long it would take. I thought the size of the steak was a really good size, I didn't even finish it all. My boyfriend got the Cajun cowboy rib eye and that was also really good and had extra spices for flavor. That also came with fried onion strings and a sprouts kind of salad. We ended the night with their salted toffee bread pudding and that was also really good. Not too sweet and really moist.

Yelp
The atmosphere is open and quaint. Incredible service, plenty of parking. Surrounded by a variety of shopping option and restaurants near by. The food was good. The cocktails were even better and my dessert was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
It seems to just get better and better every time we come here. We started with the burrata and beet salad, which was unique and enjoyable. It was dine LA so we also got the Wagyu meatballs, sushi cones, filets, mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and cheesecakes. Literally everything was delicious. I can't think of a single thing I would change. Service was great also.

Yelp
My baby is in college so she was home for Xmas. Surprise dinner with friends. You guys know how good the food is! I didn't know BOA was in Manhattan Beach, but I was surely glad to have such a beautiful last day home with my daughter! This was the calm before the storm. The night before the LA Fires some family took us out for an amazing dinner. I thank God she got on the plane before it all started

Yelp
My wife and I , in from Brooklyn,NY stopped in impromptu for some wine and appetizers and we were impressed! Between the festive atmosphere, friendly waiter and quality wine we were pleasantly surprised! We shared the wagu meatball and crab cake. This MB location is much more updated than the Santa Monica based one. We will be sure to come back and try the legendary steak cuts and choice entrees!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service and location. We came in for appetizers and drinks. They're happy hour menu was great. Would definitely come again.

Yelp
Came to meet up with my cousin and her baby. Definitely loving this place! Chill vibes, food is on point & drinks are amazing! Shout out to Nick our sever for our welcome drinks, stellar service, and being so kind and attentive to us! We appreciate you! We ordered the Cobb salad, surf and turf, brussels sprouts. Tasty, excellent portions, and we ate every last morsel! Easy to find parking in Manhattan Village. I cannot wait to come back again!! Thank you Boa!!

Yelp
I will be the first to admit I don't love meat. However, when I went I ordered a well done steak with fries as my side and the meat was to die for. The flavor was delicious and the meat so juicy and well seasoned. Will definitely come back. I went during lunch time and the place was fairly empty. I am assuming it gets packed for happy hour and would want to return for that.
google avatar

Joann C.

Yelp
In terms of ambiance, BOA is sleek and modern, compared to other fine dining steak houses. Personally, I enjoyed the wood tones and minimalistic decor. Service was great, and enjoyed all the recommendations by our server. Definitely pricey but that's what expected of a fancy steakhouse. Nothing special about the menu, as expected as other steak house. A great place to impress your guests. The table side Caesar salad was delicious but perhaps they can add more lettuce, the ratio of the dressing to salad was not proportional. Personally, the food was all too rich for me, seemed heavily saturated in butter.
google avatar

Rachelle D.

Yelp
I've been here countless times usually with a really good experience. Great ambiance during lunchtime, cool place to meet with coworkers, celebrate a birthday on the weekend or to even get some work done during the week. The menus have changed a bit, but they generally have some pretty good changes.. The waiters are very friendly, suggestive and tentative. There is valet parking at night. My go to are the king crab legs with Cajun sauce and mashed potatoes. The cowboy steak is awesome. Popular item I typically go for.

Yelp
I'm no stranger to BOA, I've been coming here for years. But this is just my second time at this location The parking at this location is so easy vs the ones in LA. They have a little private parking lot and a parking garage in the same shopping center that is no fuss I came here with my friend, Michelle for happy hour birthday lunch (thank you Michelle!!) We were going to sit at the bar for happy hour, it's only in the designated bar area. I just couldn't do it. I felt horrible and explained to one of the workers about my condition and how it deals with my organs being fused and my back. It was just too hard to sit there. I kept apologizing and felt horrible for the inconvenience. But everyone was so accommodating to my disabilities and kept reassuring me it was no problem at all and still honored the happy hour menu while seating me in a booth. We honestly had so many people checking on us I really didn't know who our main server was. At one point the chef even brought out our food. The younger guy who closed us out and asked if we wanted the birthday cookies boxed up was extremely nice. (And the hostess and bartender) It definitely was dead during the day time. It's way more action packed during the weekend at night. The place itself is absolutely spotless and love the layout and design We came here for my birthday and in the reservation we mentioned it was a birthday celebration. And they were on point with it. Sometimes restaurants forget. We didn't have to remind them at all. So it was so greatly appreciated The food was absolutely amazing. Their burgers are my favorite (obviously any of their meat here is awesome) And their cocktails were the chefs kiss. I have to come back soon to try their espresso martini. I will 100 percent be back. And thank you to the hostess who helped take photos of my friend and I lol
google avatar

Yelp
I'm no stranger to BOA's other locations. Always received the best service and quality meals. The food and ambience is 5 stars! The staff is rated off the charts! I cannot express fully how delightful and wonderful they were. Please visit and enjoy great food and people :-)
google avatar

Yelp
Boa is such a delight. The ambiance is sexy, perfect for drinks with co-workers or a date. It never fails. This was my first time at the manhattan beach location, which one a nice escape from the sceney West Hollywood location with paparazzi waiting outside. My favor item was the truffle mashed potatoes. Who knew adding truffle to it could be so delicious. The biggest surprise was the goat cheese truffle baklava. As a middle eastern person I was a little concerned but it's an explosion of delicious flavor in your mouth. Lastly, the service was on point. They changed all the plates and silverware every time... even when they didn't need to. My water was always filled, as someone who's like a camel, I appreciate it.

Yelp
BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan Beach Village has easily the best high-end happy hour in the South Bay, and trust me, I've tried them all! Let's talk about the **$12 Raw Bar** - fresh, delicious oysters and perfectly seasoned tuna tartare that melt in your mouth. Pair that with their signature Black Manhattan or an indulgent Espresso Martini (also just $12 each!), and you're in for a treat! But the real gem? The bar top service from Alyssa. She's warm, attentive, and knows exactly how to make your happy hour sparkle. Seriously, tell her Rose sent you! **Fun fact**: BOA isn't just known for its steaks, it's also a go-to spot for celebrities. So, you might just rub elbows with an A-lister while you're sipping your martini! Whether you're winding down from work or just treating yourself, this place is where luxury meets laid-back South Bay vibes. Cheers!

Yelp
We came here for lunch. The food was underwhelming. 1. petite filet -medium well, it had no flavor & tough, it was overcooked. 2. Son ordered filet and lobster he wanted the steak cooked medium well & it was over cooked ,the lobster was like rubber. 3.Lobster mac & cheese is absolutely terrible no flavor, waste of money the lobster was rubbery. 4. Husband had the wagyu meatballs with spaghetti. Again no flavor very geriatric tasting. 5. Deviled eggs with caviar were pretty good. 6. Shrimp scampi appetizer was good. 7 truffle fries were good. This steak house is not it. 8.The portions are small I have been plenty of steak houses & BOA is not it. My top is Eddie v's , steak 48 and 555 east. At least they cook Food with seasoning & good portions & flavor. They need to work on the flavor.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate the new year. Steak & sides were good. The service was just ok. I'd expect to have more elevated service for a steak house.

Yelp
First allow me to state the reason for the 1 star. The Happy Hour deserves 5 Stars and the waiter/bartender Chaz was simply adorable and was such a pleasure to chat with. He was personable and just had us laughing. The Happy Hour menu is fire too! We decided to move to the back of the restaurant to enjoy a couple of steaks. This is where things took a turn. James was our waiter he was from Ireland and just was a true pleasure and very sweet. All of a sudden we had another guy who looked like he would rip your head off no smile no customer service at all!! This guy wasn't friendly...mind you it's my first time we asked where was James and he said maybe he's on his break. Now I'm not sure about you but most restaurants if your waiter is going on break would come to the table and introduce the waiter that will take his place while he's on break. Nope that didn't happen so we were being handled by this guy who might have been having a bad day. It changed the whole energy and experience. Back to the 1 star...it was because the Tomahawk Steak and the PorterHouse Steak has so much fat on them it was disappointing. Then we asked chimichurri sauce...just beware they make their own version which is red in color as they use some type of spiced red oil anyway it was not good. Can I suggest you try the Happy Hour charcuterie board as the white cheddar cheese is simply amazing loved it. All to say the Happy hour was the best part and this was not a cheap dinner. Do Better BOA! Get the back of the house together as the waiters barely even checked on us. My son brought me here for Happy Hour as he raved about the BOA on Sunset. Much to his disappointment the Manhattan Beach location is not the same.
google avatar

Genie L.

Yelp
Very cool vibes. Great service. Delectable menu items. Beautiful location for a sunset dinner. Gives Tulum vibes. It was my cousin's bday dinner and staff made her feel super special. The food was all flavorful and savory. I'd get it all again: ribeye, fries, scallops, brussels, desserts!

Yelp
finally made it to BOA!! my good friend laurel and i met for HH during the wk, for her birthday!!!! she made the reservations online (opentable, sevenrooms and via BOA's website) we ordered a good amount of food and everything was so delicious! first off, this place is stunning! spacious and lots of greenery everyone was so nice and friendly we ordered: BOA BURGER & FRIES x2 (we both ordered a side of their dill ranch, which was so delicious!) BONELESS THAI CHILI WINGS IMPORTED CHEESE & CHARCUTERIE it wasn't busy during the time we were there, which was great bc we didnt feel rushed and we were able to enjoy the space and catch up! since it was her birthday, they bring out a small treat, 2 cookies and a small scoop of ice cream. the cookies were so yummy! overall, a great experience and will def be back as they have different menu offerings for lunch and dinner parking: valet, parking garage or surface lot

Yelp
Great food, lobster mac, wagu steak ( best I've ever tasted ). Personally the ambience wasn't as good as Santa Monica's - However awesome service, fast seating. Very respectful staff, Baked potatoes was pretty dry. I'd come back for the Convenience & because this location is close to me! It was me + 2 and we all appreciated our service/time here. Thanks so much!

Yelp
We dined at BOA Steakhouse in Manhattan Beach for my daughter's 17th birthday last night 11/21/24. We specifically flew into LA with high hopes for a memorable birthday meal, and instead received poor service and mediocre food. We had a reservation for 7 PM, and upon arrival we waited about 10 minutes for our table to be ready. Once seated, we were introduced to our server, who unfortunately seemed overwhelmed and hardly checked on us throughout the evening. It felt like we were an afterthought as he struggled to manage larger parties seated nearby. A bartender named John came over to take our drink orders, but when he realized we weren't ordering any alcoholic beverages, he seemed to lose interest in our table altogether. From that point on, we found ourselves repeatedly flagging down the hostess, busboys, and other wait staff just to get our drinks refilled, utensils, and corrections to our orders. At one point, our plates were cleared, and we didn't see anyone for over 30 minutes. We were left in the dark about whether we would receive menus, a birthday dessert, or even the bill. It felt like we were forgotten. I hoped the meal would redeem the poor service, but sadly, it did not. 3 of us ordered the 40-day aged strip steak, and it was mediocre at best. It was as if the kitchen forgot to season it. We had to dump whatever peppercorn sauce they gave us on it, and even then it wasn't enjoyable. See photo, this was shared between my husband and I and we didn't even bother finishing it. One party member ordered the clam linguini, and the noodles arrived dry with no sauce whatsoever, see photo. Even the tableside Caesar salad was heavy-handed with garlic and anchovy paste, making it less than enjoyable. The only bright spot was Angel, the salad maker, who was friendly and lively, proving to be the most personable server we encountered. After a disappointing meal, our bill came to $600 for what felt like an average dining experience at best. Given the lackluster food and absentee service, I won't be returning to BOA Steakhouse, nor will I be recommending it to others. It's a shame because we were looking forward to a special celebration, but it turned into a frustrating experience instead. 2 stars for the ambiance and for Angel. Otherwise, a big miss.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
The service at this location is amazing! Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. I came her during DineLA Restaurant week and the food was on point. The restaurant has an open window layout with dim lighting throughout so it was a very romantic vibe. Valet parking is right in front of the restaurant entrance for $10, however self parking for the mall is not a far walk. They also have a dress code, so check the website before you go.

Yelp
I had dinner at Boa Thursday the 23rd of January. I have been looking forward to this dinner. Why? The warm seafood platter. It entails a whole lobster, split in half, scallops, mussels, king crab, jumbo shrimp and some toasted baguettes. I had the pleasure of having this when I had dinner with my mom and three siblings, in December. We all shared the platter. It was DELICIOUS!!! Being the Greedy Gus that I am, I wanted to enjoy this platter on my own, hence why I had a solo dinner on the 23rd. Another reason? The Porterhouse Steak. At the dinner with my family, my sister and I shared it. Again, I wanted to experience it by myself. My sides were the mac and cheese (my absolute favorite, but only at BOA) and broccolini (i'll never order this again. it wasn't good). My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach, so I had A LOT of food to take home. Desert was this gorgeous cheesecake and an espresso. My overall experience was near perfect. The issues I had, apart from the broccolini, was that my steak was not medium, as I'd ordered. Some parts were well done and some parts were medium well. It's a massive piece of meat, so I guess, but still. The service was awesome. My waitress was lovely and attentive. The ambiance was nice, dark and sexy. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be going back to BOA, again and again.

Yelp
We went on Valentine's Day and didn't have the best experience. We spoke to the manager to address our concerns and we got invited to return. We gave it another try and went back to dinner last night. The managers Jeff, David and our server Oz were amazing. We had such a great time! The food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance, everything was great! Definitely a much better experience. Thank you for the great service! We really appreciate it and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Five stars for the service, the food, the options. Family went. Waited Kevin and staff were excellent. Delicious aps, salads, main course.... but.... I hate the "but" part of this but the bill was in my humble view extraordinary. I would flinch about eating here again simply because I am thinking to myself as good as it was -- and it was really really good, let me be clear -- I could have bought one or two full-on nice suits at a fine clothes store; or bought groceries for at least two weeks; or gotten the dogs groomed and had money left to spare. If Boa can figure out a way to price things so that you are not paying up the ying yang, I will be first in line.

Yelp
I'm no stranger to BOA as I've gone to the one in Santa Monica for years. But this was my first time at the Manhattan Beach location. First off, the parking is so easy here -- there are a couple of structures for the Manhattan Village Mall but BOA also shares a valet with Sushi Roku next door. Love no fuss parking! Cocktails were great! Service was great! Food was *good* but the truffle mashed potatoes and sticky toffee pudding were GREAT! The salmon could have used more flavor (tasted a bit bland). The NY Strip was good but didn't stand out when compared to other steakhouses. I love anything prepared table side so the caesar salad was a fun show -- I'd go easier on the anchovies next time! And these might be my favorite croutons in a salad -- so garlicky!! The decor is sleek and elegant - perfect for a nice girls night out or date too! And lastly, if you're looking for a solid high-end happy hour in the South Bay, look no further! https://hhqueen.com/venues/boa-steakhouse-manhattan-beach-90266-649cd98e6e68a0a41f3856e0

Yelp
I went here to celebrate my birthday with family, and while the food and service were great, the ambiance was a bit of a letdown. I'm a fan of a good filet mignon, and it did not disappoint--delicious as always. The staff and service were excellent, earning a solid 5/5, but the noise level was so high that it made it hard to have any dinner conversations. Overall, I'd rate the food a 3.5/5, but the service was spot on. If you're looking for a quieter, more relaxed dining experience, this may not be the best spot.

Yelp
One star simply due to the audacity of their prices compared to the quality of their plates.

Yelp
We booked a reservation for the Valentine's Day Prefixed Menu on Valentine's day and it was VERY DISAPPOINTING. For this being a "high class" restaurant, I expected service and dinner to be amazing. We checked in at 8:15 for our 8:30 reservation. We were told it would be about 25 minutes -- which was fine. After 25 minutes, we check in and were told another 15 minutes. We did not get seated until 9:35, a full HOUR after our reservations. Once we sat, our waitress quickly filled our water glasses, but took 30 minutes to take our order... from a prefixed menu. We attempted to order the 32 oz porter house, but were told they ran out. 10 minutes later, the table next to us also order the porterhouse steak which was still unavailable, but they were offered a substitution of the Tomahawk steak. Why the inconsistency? The food tasted great for the first course, but after we waited 20 minutes to be told that our second course selections were no longer available. At this point I was very frustrated and opted to forgo the second course -- which was NOT reflected on the bill. Again, this was understandable but upon finishing up our dinner and paying our bill, which totaled over $400, the table next to us got half their dinner for free due to their second course not being served. WHY THE INCONSISTENCY? In addition, the guests at this table was hitting their vape throughout dinner. I told one of the staff on the way to the restroom and NOTHING was done. Rather they were given freebies. Very disappointing. Would NOT recommend.

Yelp
The perfect meal with excellent service. I am a regular Boa diner at the West Hollywood and Santa Monica lcations - this was by far the best food quality since they were at The Grafton. The manager, Jeff, was extremely attentive. The assistant managers , Jamie and Vinny, assited our server Heather to provide amazing service. Overall the best Boa meal I have had in decades. I will definitely be returning to this location.

Yelp
Came here for dinner last night with a group of people. Service was great but drinks took a lot longer than expected, we got our drinks after we finished our appetizers. We sat right next to the bar and we saw most of the waitress, waiter were anxiously waiting for their drinks. The bar probably needs to hire more staff. We ordered Japanese wagyu flight, waiter recommended medium but it was a bit over cooked so I think it's better to go medium rare. Food were great, flavorful. Cocktail drinks were good too but unfortunately they arrived a little too late. It's a bit disappointing for such a nice steak restaurant.

Yelp
Nicholas in the bar is thee best! He makes an amazing cocktail. Nick gives the most personable service and makes us feel welcomed every time. It never matters if it's super busy. We Frequent the restaurant because of Nicholas The hospitality is above and beyond. Always a positive vibe, the management and environment are perfection.

Yelp
Boa steakhouses is such a vibe! My friend and I stepped out today to take a beat from the heat and this was the perfect environment to escape the heatwave. The impeccable service provided by Nick and Kevin was unmatched! They were attentive and super friendly providing us guidance on the best drinks and appetizers to order for happy hour! The saffron prawns were our favorite! The prawns were cooked perfectly and the house made cocktail sauce was pure perfection! It paired perfectly with our smoke house cocktail. I highly recommend Boa! I will definitely be back on the weekends to experience the 5 star treatment from Nick and Kevin! Way to go, fellas! We certainly felt the love!

Yelp
Beautiful fancy steakhouse in Manhattan Beach. They have a lot of options for steak especially if you want to go all out and order wagyu. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Lobster Mac and cheese was delicious and had good amounts of lobster. Love the ambiance, low lighting but not too dark. Lots of couples inside so definitely a date night restaurant although it's kinda loud inside. Service was very friendly and attentive. They have fee self parking in a nearby parking garage and also paid valet.

Yelp
Excellent service, very accommodating and delicious! Thank you to the fun and engaging bartender that took care of us at a high top. Great energy and attentive even tho he was manning the whole bar and the service bar! Great happy hour and everything was super tasty. And it was super appreciated they still did a happy birthday w the awesome fire work like candle even tho we ended up staying at a bar table. Thank you thank you! And thank you to the service team for the water refills and plate clearing. A lot of places aren't on top of that anymore and it's really really appreciated when it is. Beautiful space, great team in there. Keep up the great work and will be back and look forward to trying more yummy things.

Yelp
What an amazing experience at Bao at Manhattan Beach. We went there for our friends Birthday. The ambiance outside and walking in is truly welcoming and very well decorated. Our Server James was exceptional. We had the famous Table Side Caesar by Angel which included sparklers. Rocco the Manager made everything wonderful for our friends birthday even welcome drinks and continued to check on us and made it very special. Overall the experience was fantastic and we will be back. Everyone was so nice and made sure we were having a great time. The Cajun Cowboy steak was chefs kiss.

Yelp
This was my first BOA experience as I celebrated my 1 yr anniversary with my soon to be wife. Our waiter James was nothing short of amazing! His attentiveness was matched with the perfect personality, sense of humor, professionalism, and attention to detail. He made a special night that much more amazing! AV was our food runner and Caesar salad extraordinaire. He presented the best Caesar salad we have ever experienced, matched with an upbeat personality and great customer service. Rocco went far above and beyond to ensure our experience exceeded all expectations. His attentiveness and thoughtfulness are an example of how special moments should be experienced. The complimentary extra niceties he offered us took our experience to a new height All three of these gents, accompanied with an amazing meal and a wonderful atmosphere is what will bring me back with frequency and intention. James, AV, and Rocco deserve the utmost recognition from BOA. They are all-stars that deserve the best the company can offer!

Yelp
If your can make a nice steak at home, stay home and make a nice stake and save yourself $500. -$160 Tomahawk steak was small, for hslf the size of a normal size one for that prestige, but tastey. - Caesar salad - meh, was a 4 /10 - Roasted Gem Lettuce- over sauced, sent it back. - Tuna tartar - bland, hard pass 1/10 - Steak Tartar - chunky, 3/10 taste - Baklava w Goat cheese - great, 9/10 - Truffle Fries - 7/10 - Service was good - 8/10 - Ambiance - 7/10, a little loud We give a 2.5/10 overall experience. Expectations were much higher. Disappointed. Could've had $500 in groceries instead.

Yelp
It's a beautiful restaurant, gorgeous interiors great seating selections and very comfortable. We sat in the patio. Service was amazing, from our server, boss boys and gals and management. Very attentive, polite and friendly. Food presentation was also very nice. We ordered shrimp scampi large meaty prawns but semi tasteless, chop chop salad was soggy we didn't like it at all. We didn't order any drinks. Shareable Porterhouse and side of corn was Ok as well. I was a bit disappointed with the food in general. For the price and the understanding you have from Boa it didn't impress me. I may go back and order drinks and appetizer because I loved their patio vibe I didn't want to leave.
