Board & Brew

Board & Brew is a great spot with a laid-back atmosphere and delicious food. I've tried a few things on their menu, but my absolute favorite has to be the green salad with chicken. The chicken is always perfectly grilled, and the combination of fresh greens and flavorful dressing is just perfect. It's a fantastic and satisfying meal that never disappoints. Highly recommend giving it a try!

2nd trip / 5 month update: Italian sub good. $4 16oz pour, better. All 16oz beers $4 or $5 which is great around O.C. First trip: My experience here was great, powered by GREAT service. Candice A answered a bunch of first timer questions and was just pleasant in a world of unhappy humans. Grabbed a Left Coast Pastrami with secret sauce and it was what I would expect. Good bread, descent ratio of pastrami, warmed up and delicious. Sat at the bar and enjoyed great conversations and service from Ricky. 12 beers/seltzer on tap. 10 other canned beer/wine. 3 TVs across the restaurant. They try to always have games going worth watching. Sure they would throw your favorite on if you ask. Will definitely return. Maybe you should ask if they have a secret menu.

We ordered pastrami sandwich and we really love it. The service was quicker than I thought. There are a lot of people in the store, well I'm not surprised because they serve a really good quality foods. Thank you so much Board & Brew!

Order the Baja Beef sandwich, the bouquet is crispy and the meat is very well seasoned. More than my expectation for the sandwich, definitely will come back to try other options. Plenty of parkings spaces, friendly staffs and nice service.

Parking between board and brew and Starbucks is very scarce. Food is decent (ordered the tub o tuna) was a little too sloppy for my liking. Needs a better tuna to bread ratio. Bread got soggy within minutes of picking up my order. Employee that cashed me out not very welcoming either.

I ordered the Cobb salad and my husband had a sandwich. I was very impressed with the quality and quantity of toppings on my salad. The chicken was well-seasoned, the veggies were very fresh and generous, and the spicy ranch was wonderful!

We've eaten many hot pastrami sandwiches in our travels and must say … Board & Brew Left Coast Hot Pastrami with melted Swiss Cheese, grilled Onions, mild Peppers and Dijon Mustard one of the *best* we’ve ever tasted! The pastrami, moist and juicy but not too juicy, was cooked to perfection, all quality ingredients integrated together beautifully on a toasted baguette and the flavor was absolutely mouth watering with every bite … enjoyed on the palate well after (they have other specialty sandwich combinations you can select also). Highly recommend … the price won’t break your piggy bank either … can now see why they are opening more locations. We’ve found a new ‘favorite’. Update: Have been back several times experiencing consistent excellent quality and superior taste. Big 'shout out' to Jason who provides friendly, thoughtful service with attention to all the details. Thanks again! See you next time. There is no better turkey sandwich around! I used to be a big fan of a sandwich shop on Fairview for many years. I cheated on them and tried Board and Brew and sorry to say I never looked back. Today was a very busy day and the staff was working extra hard. There’s one person I always see there who is always working extra hard. I went up and asked if she was the manager and she said yes, I told her how much I love their sandwiches and how hard she always is working. Thank you Candice, keep up the hard work!! See you soon.

The parking here can be a bit crowded as it's a busy shopping center, but it's worth it. The service here is friendly and fast. Their menu has quite a selection and makes it hard to decide what to get. But they are worth it. Seating is a bit limited inside but they also have outdoor seating. Place is clean and nice. The sandwiches were delicious. The turkey, sprouts, tomato, and other ingredients were super Fresh tasting and really made the sandwich. The perfect bite. Bite. Salad was good as well. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Came in to try a new sandwich spot and was so disappointed. First, we walked in and no one greeted us. The guy just stood at the cash register staring at us. Ordered their chicken club, if you see the photo, it almost looks like i ordered a lettuce sub.... 80% lettuce and 20% chicken. Plus the bread tasted like they made it days ago. Not sure if it was just a bad day, but I will most likely not return and not recommend this spot.

Popped in here for lunch with a coworker and this location did not disappoint! I'm a BIG fan of Board & Brew, but live up in LA so don't get to get their food as often as I would like (they have additional locations in the San Diego area). I get the Turkado sandwich with no cheese and you MUST get their special sauce. They usually only give you one unless you ask for more and I recommend 2-3 per sandwich depending on your sauce to sandwich ratio preference. The store was clean, customer service was great, and they had a nice big patio seating area with umbrellas!

Fast and great value sandwiches that are stacked and delicious. Loved the beef dip with horseradish and au jus. The turkey club was bright and refreshing with its special sauce. Service was great. Tables were clean.

I hesitated giving 5 stars because I haven't been inside...but the sandwiches were really good! I don't really expect much from sandwich joints because, heck, they're sandwiches. So I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked them. This is located in the shopping plaza (Costa Mesa Shopping Square?) at the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Baker Street. This is a fairly big plaza with a Target, Sprouts, and lots of other eateries and some small stores (and a gas station). Board & Brew is off of Harbor next to Starbucks. I wasn't familiar with this place, but I guess there are multiple locations around Southern California. My family and I ordered on their website and hubs went in to pick it up so I didn't get a chance to go inside and experience their service. Our order was packed up and ready to go in a timely manner (then again, it was around 4:30pm-ish on a Wednesday so it was pretty empty). We ordered the chicken club ($11.95), beef dip ($11.95), Baja beef ($14.95), roast beef spicy ($12.50), and a couple of potato salads ($3.00ea). Sooo, I underestimated the spiciness of the jalapeño peppers...they had a lot more kick than expected so I was panting (mind you that hubs had no problem so it really depends on a person's tolerance level). With that being said, my Baja beef sandwich was yummy. The bread was soft, and the beef, onions, peppers, and cheese were pretty much filled from one end to the other. Mine didn't come with au jus, but my kid didn't use hers so I did and ended up drinking it like soup. I didn't even need the secret sauce. Everyone like their sandwich as well. Even the potato salad was good...which also helped cool down the heat in my mouth. Definitely will check out other locations that may be closer to me.

I usually get this at work the sandwiches are big and I usually share or save for the next day. Very tasty and the sauce it comes with is really delicious.

I always come in here as all the locals do. The beer is great and fair priced and their sandwiches are awesome. Candice and Cass are great and their service is amazing. I'd recommend this place to everyone.

If you are looking for a legit sandwich look no further. I've been to this location a couple of times. Each visit was equally delicious. The Chicken Ceasar salad with added bacon is absolutely delicious. They definitely don't hold back on the toppings. The chicken club is also one of my favorites. Lastly, the vegetarian sandwich on that sweet honey wheat/sqaw type bread dipped into their house sauce is top notch. Just remember everything is better with bacon. Service was fast and friendly. They have outdoor and indoor seating. I am a fan.

This is THE BEST B&B in the world. Beer-tenders are fantastic and friendly, Sammie magicians are great at creating bread/meat art. Ambiance is great, even when busy.

Parking everywhere due to being a big shopping center. I like the unique small things of it like the tires of a skateboard in the restroom and boards everywhere hence the name. The menu is straight up and the employees all smiles and polite. So for them. I got a Baja Chicken and taste very home made with the grilled chicken and the secret sauce which is sweet taste to so it complimented the sandwich well! The jalapeños were on point nice crisp spicy feel. I def went to try other things on the menu. Until next time

This place has been a local pit stop for me. Their sandwiches are amazing and the service is great. The turkcado is my favorite here. It just a nice spot to sit especially on warm days

Just stopped in at 12:45pm on 11/6 for a chicken club. The lady working the cashier, taking orders, thats wearing a hat and has 3 pounds of makeup on is very rude. I simply asked her a question and she gave such an attitude for no apparent reason. Food is great as always tho. Would recommend going to the location on beach blvd. Service is much better.

Went to visit daughter my at her college and decided to give Board & Brew a try for lunch. What a great place! The restaurant had a cute vibe and was very clean. Even the restroom was tidy during lunch-rush. For my lunch I had the Turkeycado and my daughter had the Turkey Club. Both sandwiches were fresh and delicious! I really liked the addition of the "special sauce" on the side. It added a little extra zip to the sandwich. The bread was pillowy soft and packed full with turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and the avocado spread. I omitted the onions. My daughter's sandwich was made on a roll and again full with turkey, bacon, cheese, tomato and lettuce. I wish I had taken pictures but ‍ I forgot, sorry! You'll just have to take my word for it! When I got home, I raved to my husband about the sandwich that I had. He wants to give it a try next time we are back in Costa Mesa.

The sandwiches are always delicious. If you call it in ahead of time by the time you get there the food is ready. I work like 10 minutes down the street and i will call when I'm on my way and by the time i get there the food is ready. Their sauce is really good as well

Super solid sandwich. Came in on a Saturday afternoon right before we headed to the nail salon. The sandwich menu was a good selection. As always, I had the Italian sandwich, I did switch out the Swiss for pepper jack though and added mayo (looking back I should of added extra mayo and jalapeños as the bread was really thick). The ingredients are all fresh and we loved that they served beer and seltzers too, I think I had a wild berry seltzer? My husband had a warm sandwich, I believe the pastrami and it was also good.

Board and Brew is honestly always my sandwich go to or if I don't know what to eat, I eat Board and brew lol. I prefer the Turkado on GF Wrap or on SD and then add banana peppers and wow is it good. The secret sauce is pretty awesome too. It goes well with everything. Especially the sandos with lots of veggies. I am an office manager and often need to cater in food and I have ordered the catering boxes from B&B and they have been a hit every single time. 1 box can feed around 14-16 people. Add chips and drinks and you're the office favorite for the week. Thank me later. Thanks B&B for making great food. The salads are phenomenal too. The lettuce is never brown or even a bad spot. Its like you care. I have gotten salad from other spots and they just tossed it in from the bottom of the bin and never checked. Really appreciate the quality. Also, no matter which B&B you visit, the quality seems very consistent.

Went here just trying to find a quick bite and was very impressed! The staff was very attentive and kind. My food was delicious, and for my whole family who had quite complicated orders, they got every substitution and holds perfect! Will definitely be returning!

This place is nothing short of Amazing. Very friendly staff and the inside is a nice set up. The sandwiches are great.

I had these sandwiches catered to my job and they were so good. I had to come try it out in person! The employees were so nice and were so helpful with their recommendations. I got the turkado and the turkey club sandwiches with some sea salt and vinegar chips and they were so good! I also got the special sauce which was really good with the turkey club. I loved that they had both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a really cool place and it was very clean. Can't wait to come back!!

Board & Brew in Costa Mesa. Small sandwich shop in "college town." It's close to the college and the prices are fair. Service was good. They were friendly and quick at making our sandwiches. I can't complain there. I didn't have expectations coming to this place. I had driven past it to and from my fiancé's pad, and finally got to stop in and check it out. The decor is definitely "beachy" and the atmosphere is laid-back inside. The Sandwiches are good. My veggie sandwich was super fresh. All the veggies were perfect, and the avocado was ripe. My fiancé got a beefy sandwich and enjoyed it. Overall, this stop was a win.

I have been wanting to try Board & Brew for so long after it's been recommended to me by so many different people. Sadly, I was unimpressed by the food. I ordered the Baja Wrap with no tomatoes. The wrap was stuffed with a generous portion of juicy, tasty chicken. The lettuce was a little wilted and didn't have that crispy crunch to it. The wrap began falling apart the moment I picked it up and even more so as I dug into it, which resulted in an unusually messy meal. The fillings were disproportional, with half the wrap having all the onions and the other half having all the jalapeños. The Special Sauce was bland and really did not have anything special about it - I preferred the wrap without the sauce at all. I want to try the sandwiches and beers, so I do think I will be back. The cashier was kind and my food came out, so that is a big plus and I will remember that!

First, I apologize because my picture doesn't look very good. I'm generally bad at pictures. But I like this place, simple, fresh sandwiches, they don't give you and crap for adding or removing ingredients, prices are good, and they have a really good beer selection. The atmosphere is laid back...good place for lunch and a drink, or a flight...I think they have flights. The staff has always been super cool and friendly. But again, most importantly, the food tastes fresh, not greasy or anything...no "last shift at subway" lettuce. Just a chill spot to grab a sandwich and a beer!! Mad props the the management, owners and staff.

Overall great experience. We were greeted right away and told we could try any of their beers on tap. Hands down one of the best Pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. The meat was juicy and flavorful. Highly highly recommend it and this is coming from someone who rarely eats Pastrami. My go to is always turkey. The Beef Dip was also delicious. Top 5 I've had. The meat was seasoned and the au jus was tasty. The baguette they use is soft and toasted to perfection on the outside.

Okay, WOW. I don't typically crave sandwiches but these sandwiches were YUMMMYYY. I tried the California Delight and the Left Coast Pastrami. Omg delicious!! The California Delight is Turkey Breast, Cream Cheese, Roasted Unsalted Sunflower Seeds on Sweet Wheat Bread. Includes Mayo, Tomato, Lettuce & Sprouts. Nothing crazy right? WRONG. This sandwich was PERFECTION! It was flavorful but still felt light. It wasn't dry and it had fantastic texture. The sprouts are SO CRUNCHY! I've never had sprouts on a sandwich before but the crunch they add is unprecedented. A truly delicious creation. The Left Coast Pastrami is Hot Pastrami with Grilled Onions, Dijon Mustard, Pepperoncini Peppers & Melted Swiss Cheese on a toasted French Baguette. I love pastrami and this was good pastrami! Loved the combo of the peppers and mustard. The sandwich is a little heavy and was a little bit salty for me. But I added the Secret Sauce it came with (which was creamy and on the sweeter side) and it balanced everything right out! SO GOOD. I had leftovers and ended up toasting it in a pan the next day and making it panini-like and wow it was perfect! Delicious sandwiches!

Everything from the service, the sandwiches with vegan options, and they're happy hour with yummy Seltzer. Everything was top-notch.

Wow this is the second time I have ordered delivery and the second time I didn't get my food!!! Spent $120.00 dollars on food for my family and guy shows up with wrong order. Board and Brew blamed the driver when they in fact gave the wrong order to our delivery guy. When talking with the manager, she stated "this happens all the time". Wow, thats embarrassing. Customer service is absolutely terrible here and we will not go back.

Good board and brew, not great. I've have better tasting board and brew sandwiches at other location. RSM board and brew for example I ordered Uber eats from here last week and in the app I was only able to select one sauce. Restaurants control how many sauces etc they want to show on Uber Eats. So why add an option for two, owners? So I called the restaurant and asked them if they could put two sauces in the bag and they said yes. And then they did not do it!

I love that Board and Brew is in the OC! The San Diego favorite (original location is in Del Mar) offers top quality sub sandwiches that taste a millions times more fresh than the popular international sub brand you're probably familiar with. We stopped in on our way to San Diego and got turkey subs and a side of potato salad. Everything tasted like it was just made, and the bread was incredible! "Healthy" sodas from the fountain and even beer is available. If you're a first timer, don't forget to get extra of their signature orange sweet/sour sauce on the side to dip your sandwich in. Also, if the sandwich says it has sunflower seeds in it that means it's delicious. Probably the freshest sub you'll ever eat.

Big fan of Board & Brew- keep seeing that one is in the process of opening in Lake Forest closer to home but in the meantime I will need to get my fix at their other locations! We were driving on the 405 and decided to stop off for lunch here. You can't really ever go wrong with sandwiches and beer, can you? They always have a good selection of brews on tap and I'm a fan of their italian sandwich. Plenty of seating both inside and out, very clean, and friendly staff manning the bar and register!

When they started opening up locations near by I was so pumped. These sandwiches are so fresh and decently filling. My favorites are the Turkado, Grilled Chicken and I think it's their Turkey Club. For a small chain they do a good job of replicating quality. A unique thing is they have beer here with a good selection. Inside they have places to sit. The staff at this location can sometimes be a little rude or not helpful. But not to the point where it makes not want to come back. Very good place to get a good/fresh sandwich minus the staff being a little mediocre.

Coming from the San Diego area, Board & Brew has been such a staple spot in my childhood. This spot in Costa Mesa is no exception. Every time I've gone, the employees are super chill and nice. It's a great place to do a casual hangout, or even a grab-and-go. It really serves the beach vibes despite being more inland. My go-to has to be the Chicken Club. I devour it every time with their special sauce. You can't go wrong with what you pick!

I came in last night unsure what to order. The friendly cute blonde girl at the counter suggested the Baja Beef, and it was phenomenal. The girl at the front was an excellent cashier and I will be coming back. Excellent sandwich and excellent service.

Not sure what happened to this place but the last couple times ive ordered have been disappointing. Hardly any toppings. Feels like they are cheaping out or people making the subs could care less cause their not paying for it? Does the sub in the pic look like a $20 sub? Cause that's how much it costs to get delivered. In store it would be more like $15 but even then this is not worth $15.00. I bet Your employees would be disappointed to pay that much for this.

Food is always so fresh and the sourdough bread is so soft and yummy. The service is always great and quick! I love that the place really feeds into its coastal vibes since we are right next to the beach. Also an added plus is starbucks directly across. 10/10!

I'm assuming this is a new location since I don't recall this being here before lol. I've had board and brew in other locations and this one held up to the same standard. Great food and service. The Baja beef is my personal favorite. The chicken version isn't bad either. Tried some other sandwiches but the Baja beef is my go to

This place gives off such an awesome 80s/90s vibe. We ordered the French dip and the Italian and the bread on these massive sandwiches was so fluffy and amazing. The gentleman who took our order was incredibly welcoming and helped us select our beers in draft. Loved the decor and everything about this spot. We will return!

Continuously an A+ sandwich! I discovered I can get any sandwich as a wrap- makes me feel a little better. It was a yummy wrap! First time at this location and my order was ready in less than 10 mins!

I had been craving a good sandwich for a while now. Decided to stop by and pick up a sandwich from here for a quick lunch. I ordered the turkado on a French baguette without onions. Brought the sandwich back to the office and the entire office smelt of onions. I opened the sandwich up to see if there were any onions - there was not. However there was a lot of the 'avocado'. Now I am a huge avocado lover. However the amount of avocado on this sandwich actually turned me off avocado for a week. Not to mention the avocado was mixed with onions - hence the smell. I took one bite and could not have anymore. The avocado and onion mix was so overpowering. A real shame it was so disappointing. I have not had a sandwich or avocado since.

I had some pastrami sandwich and it was very whatever, underwhelming for what I paid for. For the price I expect better than that.

The food is great, as is the customer service! The sandwiches are big enough that I can easily split it into two meals for myself or share with someone else.

Solid sandwich spot overall. I had the food to go and had to wait a bit before eating it but it was still great. The portion size was more than enough and it tasted really good as well. I wouldn't say this place is mind blowing, but is definitely solid and will be my first choice for sandwiches in the area. Would definitely recommend it if you're craving it.

Idk I love their sandwiches but their tangy house sauce just doesn't do it for me Maybe a lighter / citrusy sauce ?! Idk but overall a good lunch spot for a sunny day

I'm not sure if the women who work there don't like to serve other women and only like to serve men, but the few times I've gone in the women are so rude. she's laughing one second flirting with a man who's ordering a beer serving him the next second she's taking my sandwich order seeming like she's extremely frustrated and doesn't wanna waste her time talking to me. It's every time I've gone in and now it's to the point where I'm not going in anymore. also, two different occasions they've messed up my order. They fixed it no problem, but maybe if the girl wasn't being so rude while she was taking my order she wouldn't have made the mistake. By the same female too. I think maybe you guys need a little bit better customer service. If you're a woman ordering food hopefully you get a mail taking your order. Maybe he'll be nicer to you than the women there.
