This is the first time I've ever been impressed by a restaurant on my first visit, only to become more and more disappointed with each return. I've now been to this restaurant five times for different occasions, hoping each time things would improve -- but unfortunately, my most recent visit was the worst yet.
This past Saturday, I brought my cousin, who was excited to return after celebrating her 50th birthday here earlier this year. We decided to sit inside for the first time and arrived early, around 4:30 p.m., to beat the crowd. Despite seeing at least 15 staff members standing around the open kitchen chatting, it took quite a while for our server to come over. After bringing our drinks, she disappeared for about 10-15 minutes, and I eventually had to flag someone else down to find her. When she returned, she seemed visibly annoyed.
I asked to change my drink and mentioned we were ready to order, but she was in such a hurry to leave that I could barely get my order out. When our food arrived, she did a "drive-by" check-in -- asking how everything was without even pausing at the table.
Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the service. My salmon was completely raw in the middle -- not rare, but raw -- and I wish I had taken a photo to show it. The roasted Brussels sprouts, usually the highlight of the meal, were hard and undercooked (the last time, they were burned).
I believe in giving restaurants a fair chance to work out early kinks, but it's been four months since opening -- by now, things should be running smoothly. Watching so many staff members standing around chatting while service suffers is frustrating and unprofessional. For the prices charged here, I expect much better quality and attentiveness.
I truly hope the owners are reading these reviews and taking them seriously. This restaurant has potential, but at this point, I can no longer recommend it.
