Boardwalk Bar & Arcade Review - Wharf - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"The Wharf isn’t a vacation town, but Boardwalk gives you classic beach city vibes with basic American food and arcade games that will bring out the kid in you. Whether you’re a winter baby who dreamed of Atlantic City birthdays or a sucker for the nostalgia of those family trips to Ocean City, Boardwalk serves up the hot dogs, pretzels, and pinball that’ll make all your 12-year-old birthday dreams come true. Sit on the patio near the first floor bar to take in the people-watching on the Wharf or head upstairs to the pink beach house where you can sit on a swing and watch your friends battle it out in DDR. The bartender sized me up once I arrived at a table. She was serving people, laughing and smile. Once I walked up to the bar island, she walks nowhere near my section. She would literally bypass me to go to another section. She ignored me for ten minutes. I waved to her and said ,"miss" various times. She looked in my face and continued to serve other customers in various sections of the bar. When another bartender arrived, I was served. (THANKS!) AS SOON as I left the bar island to go sit at my table, she was serving my section, chatting and laughing with my section. DON'T SERVE THE GENERAL PUBLIC IF YOU REFUSE TO ASSIST CERTAIN PEOPLE. RUDE BARTENDER.

Both bartenders have terrible attitudes and service. Was charged $40 for 2 shots of Cuervo and 2 cans of Corona and the bartender didn’t give me an itemized receipt. She was more concerned with fraternizing with a male at the bar. Won’t be back on any of my many visits to A.C.

Yelp
Bally's lower level really needs some updating. The slots are old and entire area is smoking. We actually were looking for some table games to play for a reasonable price and they had most of them shut down. We decided not too stay and waste time here and continued on to the next casino. Always noting how clean the area was 2/5 Staff friendliness 4/5 Variety of games 1/5 (will say last yr they had a table game we played and loved it)if that game returns my review will be updated to reflect. Restrooms 4/5 cleanliness Overall I can't see wasting my money here at old slots and few tables when just down the boardwalk is a great casino/hotel with everything!

Yelp
This was the first stop in the night of bar hopping and is appropriate as we were staying in the titled hotel. it was fairly lively were served fairly quickly. The bartender was dressed like Thriller Michael Jackson which was cool, but would've been nice if the other bartender had something on to keep up with the theme, being it's Halloween season. Overall service was ok. We wanted to start slow so we just got a couple of canned beers. $13.50! as mentioned in a previous review. $13.50 for an 8 oz. can of a domestic beer! That's worse than stadium prices. It might be $6-8 but at least it will be a bottle and have more options. The location of the Saloon is in an alright place, exit to the boardwalk is behind it and the casino floor surrounds the rest. I think if you're looking for a break from the games this is a good spot, but don't expect wide selection or any kind of drinking value.

Yelp
Came here tonight since a cover band I Like was performing here. The bar was not crowded but it took me about 10 minutes to get a bartenders attention for drinks. Like hello, I'm trying to give you money. So I order a coke and rum and coke and it comes to $13.25. That's right, my little plastic cup of Bacardi and Pepsi ran me $10. Ridiculous! The first bar I went to I was ignored so I went to the outside bar since it was less crowded. The bartender at that bar walked by me no less than 3 stars and ignored me completely even though there were only 2 other people there (and both had drinks). Then I went back to the first bar and finally got served. But $10 for a rum and coke (which turned out to be Pepsi and probably all of 8oz) and a $3.25 soda. The cover band I came to see was good as always but the crowd was pretty low class and trashy. I saw more twerking and grinding during their show than in a club. I get it's a club atmosphere but the crowd it attracts is pretty ghetto. One of the girls even jumped up on stage during the show and was trying to grind on the guitar player in the middle of the show! (And wouldn't get off the stage until they told her to and had to make an announcement that security would handle any future stagecrashers). Just annoying that some people don't know how to act. No cover which was good, but I ended up leaving after the second set because the crowd was starting to get weird (then lots of security was making rounds and on my way out, some officers were headed in so something was definitely going down!) So not sure I'd return between the service and the overall safety due to the crowd it attracts.

Yelp
So they advertise $4 beers but oops all the taps are down. So the Miller lite cans are $8? Are you fucking kidding me? And you wonder why the business is near empty? Why would anyone work in these conditions? And then the water fountains are off? Because covid spreads through water? Morons.

Yelp
Terrible service! Terrible prices! My wife and I ordered two drinks each, off of their drink list and they were out of something in each one to make it... on a Tuesday. This is after we finally got the bartender to come over. Not very apologetic, didn't suggest anything else. We ordered a vodka cran and a 7/7 to keep it simple after our let down. 8oz cups and bill came to $21. Waste of money for the size of drinks, and lousy service. Go to the Mountain Bar and save yourself some disappointment.

Yelp
Been going to the Mountain Bar for many years, and now in the past few years, while Friends and Family gamble I enjoy sitting at the Boardwalk Saloon. Was there this past Weekend for the Boardwalk St. Patrick's parade. While staying at a different Casino, the Friday of March 8, and March 9, I had to compliment the bartender that worked there. Her name was (Diana). Each time during those 2 days, I went to bar, she was there waiting for my order. Even as friends and family came back to the bar for some cocktails of there own, she was fantastic. What impressed me more, although Friday day and Friday night where packed the dancing area , and the bar, how quickly she worked. On Saturday, day of Parade, she worked the Boardwalk side, in which it was darn COLD. she was working her tail off, and she noticed myself and friends from the previous night. (IMPRESSIVE). And, even though she was slaughtered with customers, she still didn't miss a beat. No customer waited more than a few moments for there drinks. She didn't slow down . Great job Diana. I felt a needed to inform management of her great work, hospitality, and professionalism. Because of her hard work. We are heading down to A/C in a few weeks, and with out doubt, stopping again for some Beers and Drinks.

Yelp
Difficult to determine where the Boardwalk Saloon ends and it turns into the Mountain bar. Not sure why this isn't just considered one venue. Night we were there beers were Coors and Miller light for 3.50, shots were 4 bucks. Got there around 8 on Friday night and it wasn't too busy, grabbed seats at the bar. Within an hour the place was packed. Service at the bar was ok, can't really fault the bartenders. There was only 3 for a full house and with a fairly young crowd having to check ids for almost everyone who ordered a drink. Band started playing around 9 and they were good. Unfortunately the cheap drinks bring the drunks and toothless crowds. A lot of groups of guys and girls getting drunk before moving on to other places. There's a large patio with tables outside on the boardwalk, in good weather the sliding doors are open. Overall if you're into cover bands and can put up with crowds and drunks you will probably like it here.

Yelp
Truly horrible service. These might be the most incompetent, rude bartenders I've ever encountered. This was our second and last time at this place. The first was a couple of weeks ago. Same, if not worse, experience this time. The tall, heavy, blonde, female bartender literally ignores customers. When we walked up, the bar was pretty dead. There were 10-12 customers sitting at the bar. There were 2 bartenders - the heavy blonde and a male bartender. We were there for 16 minutes (it became a joke so we actually timed it) before the male bartender finally said, "did you guys get a drink yet?" Seriously? There were only 12 other people there, tops. The blonde repeatedly walked passed us. She stood around, played with channels on the tv, leaned and did nothing. The first time we were at this place, a few weeks earlier, the heavy blonde was just as rude. What is Caesars/Bally's doing? Why is no one overseeing this place? Who on earth hired the blonde, and how is she still working there? The short bartender who came in later seemed to be the only one actually paying attention and working. The busy bars and clubs have faster service.
