went to boars to watch the Alabama game last night and walked upstairs to get some service. Noticed my roommate in line and tried to talk to her because she was by herself- that’s when the bouncer cut me off and told me he wasn’t letting anyone in. I told him I understood that they have capacity and she’d get in when she could. That’s when the owner came over yelling at everyone to get out the way and yelled at me for talking to his bouncers. I again tried to be respectful and told him I was sorry and explain myself, then he told me I’m “not pretty enough to act that way” and I was appalled. I LOVED this bar and it really put a bad taste in my mouth. I asked if he were the owner and he said yes if you don’t like it you could leave and I said that was no way to talk to a customer OR a woman and he pushed me out of the bar making me drop my stuff along the way before I even got the chance to let my friends know I was leaving. I will NOT be back. This was Very heartbreaking to say the least, especially with a $40 cover per person. If I could leave no stars I would.

Greedy, especially this guy who works there. Extremely rude and entitled, likes the power trip.

Extremely rude staff. Watered down drinks. Dead atmosphere. If you’re in Athens…don’t spend your money here

I always enjoy going here. This is our first stop of the night when my friends and I go bar hopping. They have free popcorn. Darts are always cool to play. I think you have to pay for pool though which is a few quarters and worth it once you start. The bartenders make some good drinks for a reasonable price. The other bars I went to were overpriced.

The staff are all really nice. Good live music. And the bathrooms are actually in pretty good shape. It's also basically 4 bars in 1. Two on the main level, one upstairs, and one downstairs. So you can get a drink anywhere you want.

This is one of my favorite bars downtown!! I love this place!! The only downfall is the small amount of bar space compared to the number of people who usually frequent this bar. It's usually very crowded, but the music is good and it's always a good time here. The Capri Sun shots are freakin amazing!!

I cannot express my disappointment with this bar. This used to be my favorite dive bar in Athens, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. The bouncers admit their "friends" over patrons who have been patiently waiting 15+ minutes in a line. When I brought this up to the bouncer, I was rudely told, "Go cry about it." I understand that the service industry is a stressful one, having worked in it myself, but that is no excuse for the inconsiderate, disrespectful behavior that I experienced here.

Perfect bar for a casual night out. They have pool tables, outdoor and indoor settings, tvs to watch sport games, and perfect amount of drinks to choose from. I've never had a bad experience in regards to service. I will say it's hard to find seats, so just be prepared to stand a while if they're busy.

Bouncer kicked me out for no reason what's so ever. I got back in and he found me again to kick me out. Was very handsy and drunk with power. Will not be going back.

Pretty chill bar with $2 drafts until 11pm. Nice bartenders and good service. They have two pool tables and one foosball table. It's $1 to play pool and only takes quarters, but they have a dollar exchange machine for your convenience. Cheap drinks and lots of seating indoor and on the outdoor patio.

This place was ok. Waited for a bit to get their attention to serve us our drinks. Music was good. Although if you're hungry you'll have to wait until 10pm for them to serve food.

We did a Old People Pub Crawl in Athens and strolled across this place late on a Saturday night...Not bad. They have a street level Bar and patio area and a downstairs area with another bar with Pool tables and Beer Pong. Downstairs is Definitely for the younger set. We Started off downstairs, Funny to watch College kids get loaded and play Beer Pong. I'd never seen it live. Too funny. If you are over 25 DON'T attempt to hang out here...it's not as fun as you remembered. The night we were there they had a pretty good band Playing. Something for people of our age and some Younger stuff. All and all a good time, I'd go back...To hang out upstairs.

Monday nights brings $1 drinks and the bar floods with college students looking for drink deals. It's one of the few bars in Athens where locals and students mix. I would definitely recommend for older people who want to witness a glimpse of college life or for college students who want to see some authenticity in Athens.

This is one of my favorite places! Everyone who works here is wonderful and they make great drinks. I've made so many friends by coming here and have had a lot of fun nights. Moving to Athens from New England, I didn't think I would find such a great place that I would come to love so much. The bands who play here and the people who participate on open mic night are talented, it's really nice to relax with a drink and watch them play. The patio is the perfect spot to sit and relax over the summer, UGA games are even more fun to watch here on all of the TVs. I will always come here and will always recommend people to this spot. Try it out if you haven't!

I guess Athens is slightly underyelped, for a city when it comes to reviews. And since I noticed there was another bar that looked interesting that I never quite got to check out(the barcade Fantasy World), when I was looking over how other various Athens businesses(some I got to, others I missed) got reviewed. Anyway, this is more a dive, but I liked it anyway. Not bad, but it didn't leave the impression on me that Allgood did either. They did a nice job decorating the interior(for Halloween, ahem!), and the patio seemed fine to me. Hopefully reviews like this, will get more people writing up reviews for places in Athens.

I LOVE this place. Their beer specials were always fantastic as well as their food! Small and intimate but very worth your time! :)

This bar is great! My friend's always come here for their fun open mic nights on Wednesday, and $2 drafts every night until 11pm. The bartenders are really nice and they all know what they are doing when they hand you a drink. If you want a fun bar, fun bartenders and a place downtown that isn't full of rowdy freshmen then come here! :)

Once you have a good buzz going this bar is amazing. Went there for my 21st birthday and everyone was having a blast. People bought me shots. We danced, we laughed, and we drank. Always go to this bar when I go to downtown Athens. Ask the bartenders for a kaprisun it is delicious. Great week night specials. Loved playing beer pong and pool. Would give a ten star if I could.

Not ashamed to admit that this has been one of my favorite bars in Athens since I went to UGA, and that I'm super happy it's still open. A bit divey, a bit not-so-divey, decent crowds, and the kind of prices that are so low you'll cry of happiness after living somewhere expensive.

The bar tender on the ground level nearest the stage is a major ass hole. He appeared to be drunk as he clumsily sloshed most of the tequila out of the shot glasses he was handing me then charged me $9.10 for two shots, after that he insulted me for questioning the price. I just now when i checked my bank statement i realized the fucker gave his self a 2 dollars tip on my card. I don't know about anyone else but $11.10 for two shots of watered down tequila is highway robbery. And it's not like I was drunk and forgot that I gave him a tip or something, his shitty service is how I receced my first drink of the night. I can't believe you employ someone who is rude to your customers and also steals from them. .I wonder how many other patrons he has stolen from.if I could give 0 stars I would

We had our holiday party at Boars Head and we're very happy with the way we were treated. We had a little stumble in the beginning but the crew made up for it with their service. We will be back next year

APPALLED: bouncer confiscated my friends(black male) shoulder bag at the door claiming that bags weren't allowed in for whatever reason yet his bag was the only one sitting at the door. mind you this bag is much smaller than the average purse. We proceed to walk in and sit down near the door when we see the bouncer open his bag and begin to intently and thoroughly check every item inside of it. mind you this bag is still outside of the establishment. we walk up to the bouncer asking him what he's doing and he responds "oh i'm checking for weapons" this bag is OUTSIDE he's searching through a bag that never came inside the building he was protecting. a cop came up saying that he was allowed to for whatever reason however that's an absolute lie. a civilian is not allowed to confiscate and illegally remove the contents and search another's bag.. will be getting others to leave 1 star as well
