Boathouse

Lovely casual restaurant right on the river. Very relaxing with a variety of table options - regular, tall and comfy loungers. Food and drinks menus also have a lot of great options. My prawn dumplings in coconut milk were 10 out of 10 perfection. My cocktail was yummy, and the soft drinks were huge. Unfortunately, my steak was overcooked. But everything else, including the friendly and accommodating staff, was excellent. Will definitely be back to try more (and get the dumplings again) next time we're in Rocky.

Breakfast was amazing! From the second we walked in, service was great & food and coffee took no time at all to come out, and it all came out around the same time (4 of us ordered). The view, no matter where you are is stunning and adds to the overall atmosphere. Food was delicious, coffee was smooth and had amazing coffee art and all staff on were super lovely. Will definitely be going back more often!

The view at the café was beautiful, but I was extremely disappointed with the staff’s attitude. In particular, a tall male staff member—who seemed to be the manager—looked visibly uninterested in working. He was expressionless not only when taking orders but also while serving, and his unwillingness to work was clearly felt by customers. While the other staff members were not as indifferent, it’s important to recognize that one person’s attitude can negatively impact the entire team’s image. This should be taken seriously. Despite having an open kitchen, the food didn’t feel trustworthy—and to make matters worse, I found trash in my dish, which was absolutely unacceptable.😡 I will not be returning.

Beautiful meals I had the Boathouse Parma & can honestly say it was up there with the best I’ve had, my wife had the Boathouse Grilled Barra & she thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was excellent & meals came out in a reasonable time & hot !

OK view of Fitzroy River. Steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty. A few locals were vocal below the restaurant which didn't help the atmosphere. Ignore that and it's a pretty good venue and feed.

The location of this restaurant is beautiful but unfortunately on the day we visited they were understaffed and everything took a long time. The staff were lovely however & I thank them for their service. All that said, I'd go back & hopefully our experience next time will be a little better.

We visited the Boathouse and enjoyed the chips, oysters, and garlic pizza bread. The oysters Kilpatrick were absolutely delicious, and the chips had great seasoning with a generous portion, perfect for sharing. However, the garlic pizza bread was overly oily, which made it a bit too heavy to enjoy. The cocktails were nice, and the service was quick and attentive. We came during a quieter time, which allowed us to snag a fantastic seat overlooking the Fitzroy River and the bridge. The serene atmosphere added a lot to the experience. Overall, a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the view, with just a small room for improvement in the food preparation.

We decided to eat here because of the location, which is nice if you're looking for a place overlooking the river. Not a whole lot more atmosphere to it. The staff was friendly, especially the lady taking our order was great. We had schnitzel for the kids and burgers for us. Portions were very large, chips were nice. The remainder of the food though was horrible. The cheese on the burger made us realize burgers at a fast food chain are better. The salad was okay but drowning in dressing. The schnitzel absolutely appalling, and should be banned from being served. I truly hope the staff / owners will have a taste themselves to realise how bad the quality is.

Beautiful building, excellent location, stunning views from the deck, pleasant staff, nice food and drinks.
