Raleigh’s Boatman Spirits Co. Is Now Open | Eater Carolinas

"A dramatic 7,000-square-foot distillery and restaurant in downtown Raleigh’s Seaboard Station, the space features sweeping archways, old-world tiles, and floor-to-ceiling windows that set the stage for craft spirits, creative cocktails, and Mediterranean-inspired fare. The concept is driven by a small team with experience in food halls, Mediterranean restaurants, cocktail bars, and winemaking, and the menu is influenced by Palestinian flavors. Once production begins, they plan to make vodka, gin, single malt and rye whiskeys, fruit brandies, and arak, with plans to age single malts in barrels in their brick house and even produce an acorn amaro; the team expects bottles of their own spirits in roughly two months. In the meantime, cocktails are organized around classic formats (Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, Sours, Spritzes) and include inventive creations like the West Side Garden (Scotch, apricot, tahini, cucumber). Food is meant to complement the drinks, with items such as za’atar chicken wings, beef shawarma, a lamb kofta burger, tallow fries, fattoush salad, and tahini ice cream. The menu aims to be both familiar and surprising, and the venue’s hours are Wednesdays–Thursdays 4 p.m.–midnight, Fridays–Saturdays 11 a.m.–1 a.m., and Sundays 11 a.m.–midnight." - Erin Perkins

Super delicious food and drinks. Everything was a 10/10. Highly recommend the Hades. We had multiple of their unique cocktails and even some off menu they whipped up for us. If you enjoy talking about aliens and conspiracies ask for bartender Mike. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Beef Tallow fries were delicious and steak was super tender and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

Boatman Spirit—what can I even say? This place exceeded every expectation. From the stunning architecture to the top-tier service, incredible food, craft drinks, atmosphere, and DJ… it was perfection. We came for a girls’ lunch and loved every single second. We ordered the frittata, breakfast burger, and brunch hash, and every dish absolutely blew us away. And let me be very clear, the hospitality here is exceptional. Also: everyone NEEDS to try the coquito. Hands down the best coquito I’ve ever made… and yes, they sell it by the bottle. Run, don’t walk.

I dont usually leave reviews but I had to for this place because I was absolutely blown away! The cocktails were amazing so unique and delicious Food is impeccable- I had brunch- incredibly authentic middle eastern meets elevated american with a modern twist. The lamb breakfast burger with halloumi i will be craving for the foreseeable future I am so excited for the fun events this place has weekly! Staff is fantastic! Semi-private room available for private events. They are going to make their own sprits soon as well. Very excited for this addition to Raleigh!!! Especially coming from someone who lives in NYC!

Previously had plans to come here, so it was still on my radar. I decided to pop in Wednesday to hear some Jazz. The hostess was welcoming. I received 1.5 hours of validated parking for the deck. The parking was effortless. I enjoyed the hummus small plate (very delicious) and the lamb burger. The lamb had a tad too much seasoning on the lamb for me. Besides that it was good. I enjoyed the cocktails the witching hour and the Bloody Sunset - both were deliciously crafted by the bartender. The ambiance here was nice. The restaurant was clean. The lighting was dim. I enjoyed the soulful jazz and the singing by Autumn. Very relaxing for a midweek night out. The service was great.

I had an amazing experience dining here! The swordfish was cooked to perfection—flaky, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The hummus was also a standout: smooth, fresh, and full of authentic flavor. The decor was truly breathtaking and set the perfect atmosphere, giving the whole place a relaxed, chill vibe. If you’re a foodie like me and love authentic cuisine, this spot is a must-visit. The staff was friendly and attentive, which really elevated the overall experience. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Boatman Spirits Co. is a relaxed, welcoming spot in Raleigh with a cozy vibe and flavorful Mediterranean-inspired food. It’s a great place to meet up with friends, grab a drink, and share a few small plates without feeling rushed or fancy. The menu has some real crowd-pleasers. The lamb kofta burger is juicy and well-seasoned, the kabobs have a nice char and bold flavor, and the shawarma wrap is packed with savory goodness. If you’re looking for something vegetarian, the falafel is crispy on the outside and soft inside—definitely worth trying. The cocktails are creative and easy to enjoy, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or making a night of it, Boatman Spirits Co. offers a laid-back experience with great food and good energy.

My large group went on a Wednesday when they have Live Jazz starting at 8... And while the band was lovely, the acoustics are horrible so not as enjoyable as we had hoped. The food was pretty good, nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. But our server, Darwin, was fabulous!

Date night with friends was absolutely amazing. We loved Boatman Spirits Co. When we first arrived we were greeted at the door by two amazing host. The first welcomed us and the other showed us to our seat. I wanted to know if they validated parking and they said yes! for one hour. I loved that they have a covered parking deck. Our server who's name I cannot remember was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and the cocktails and made some awesome suggestions. We ordered small plates and were satisfied and we also order a couple rounds of cocktails which we thought were great. One of the things that we chatted about was the acoustics in the restaurants - it makes it really hard to hear the server but it wasn't bad enough that we wouldn't return. We were able to hear each other well. The restaurant is stunning and the food is delicious. I would definitely go back because I really wanted to try the main dishes. Overall great restaurant and an awesome addition to the Raleigh food scene.
