Bob & Edith's Diner - Huntington

I've been told that the Bob and Edith's diners are hit or miss, but this one knocks it out of the park. The service can sometimes be a little slow, but it's definitely worth it and the staff are very friendly. The country fried steak is amazing.

Came during a busy time on a Sunday but was sat immediately. Service was very friendly and efficient, and our orders were on point. The biscuits and gravy is excellent, exactly the remedy needed for a hearty breakfast. The home-fries were great and the two extra eggs completed the meal. My buddy got the country fried steak and finished the entire plate. If you’ve been to one of the Bob & Edith locations you know what to expect, but this location in particular is a neighborhood establishment and has plenty of parking and friendly people.

This is actually a very nice place. I've been here twice and have seen the other locations. I do plan on coming back. One of the best parts is it is open 24/7 with no menu restrictions on time. Pretty clean, pretty good service, pretty decent prices. Menu has a good amount of options, to the extent where it's hard to make a decision. Food is good. If I were to choose a place to cross shop, I would think about Denny's or IHOP. Local IHOPs are not 24/7, at least not around this location. Denny's has been a bit disappointing when it comes to late night service. I would rather support this local chain.

We went to eat here about a week ago and came back today. We love the option to eat outside when there's nice enough weather. The service we received both times was very friendly, timely, and professional. Our food was hot and fresh (steaming hot) and tasty. I got the "create-your-own" omelette with cheese grits, & sausage biscuits and gravy; all tasted delicious. Husband got an omelette as well, with cheese grits, as well. This time we got the omelettes and cheese grits and a side of corned beef hash. Everything was served hot and fresh again and tasted just as good as last time. We will come back again 👍🏾🙂

This morning 2 am I ordered breakfast while in the middle of moving. Over easy eggs corn hash and 2 orders of crispy bacon with orange juice coffee and a coke. Gluten Free! I am so appreciative it was delicious. The delivery guy was on a motor bike very European. Thank you!

Bob and Edith's is a regional chain greasy spoon diner. They are open 24 hours. Everyone seats themselves, when they are full they don't take your name down to make a list - you wait "in line" until a table is free then you go and claim it. I showed up at 11:30a on a Sunday, and as expected it was crowded. We had a short wait but got seated within 15 min. For what it is, everything went well. it was clean, we got our order in pretty quickly, and the food was served somewhat quickly and was decently tasty. Our server was attentive and refilled our coffees and waters regularly. My over easy eggs were cooked over easy. This was my first time at a Bob and Edith's (I'm not from the area) and I would go again to try more of their menu. I was too full for dessert but hope to remedy that soon. For the price and how everything went, it was good enough! A tasty breakfast meal at a crowded, noisy and clean diner.

It's a classic dinner. All-American greasy spoon. It's got the classic look and the classic menu. We usually get breakfast here, since that's all day. My kids love the pancakes and waffles. I wish they had more fresh fruit options with breakfast, but their blueberry sauce for pancakes and waffles is tasty.

I really enjoyed the daily special ham and egg omelette. it was quite filling with the cheese🍳. Also the pancakes were very fluffy and moist and I really enjoyed the orange juice. I will be returning time and time again hopefully they give me a free plate next time. Please check this location as soon as possible. 🍽️🥞🥤🧃🌞

Edith and Bob's is peak diner food. We came in twice when visiting some friends in the area and loved it. The staff are friendly and good at keeping your coffee full which is critical on mornings when a diner trek is necessary. It's a little too big inside to have a cozy diner feel, but the decor does lend a touch of the golden era of diners. As for food, my wife was a happy repeat pancake customer. I had a western omelette that came with borderline brunoised veg and, on the other occasion, some biscuits and gravy that would make at least a few southerners nostalgic. The breakfast potatoes I'd give a miss in favor of the hash browns but you can't go too wrong with a potato. It's quick, it's classic, it's breakfast. What's not to like?

I've only gone to one which is the one on King Street, but I always get the cheeseburger on rye bread, which is so good so so good and huge. I was like I don't know whether is the Ryebread, but they match energies with the rye bread the rye bread was big and the burger was big.

At 1:30am after leaving the cigar bar down the street, we were ready for some snacks. I was so impressed with veggie omelette and added sausage. The fries and onion rings were made fresh to order and there was no oily or old oil taste. The pancakes were fluffy and hot and even the burger had a great flavor profile, with added egg and bacon! Service is fantastic and a well oiled machine. It was bright and clean and welcoming ! A must visit for late night !

I am happy to report that our latest breakfast experience here at this Bob and Edith's was a solid four stars. It is seat yourself and Bob and Edit's is open 24 hours. Service was great today, friendly and efficient.. First off, for the food and drink, I loved the coffee. Good rich strong flavor, much better than your typical diner coffee. We both ordered the country-fried steak. I had mine with hash browns and brown gravy. JP had home fries and sausage gravy with his country fried steak. The country-fried steak was very good and so was the brown gravy. Between the sausage gravy and the brown gravy, I prefer the brown gravy. The sausage gravy has more spice (rosemary or thyme) than I care for. The hash browns were good and so were the home fries, even if the potatoes in the home fries were a little underdone. Bonus points for the toast that came to our table warm and already buttered.

This is quickly becoming one of our favorite breakfast places!!! The food is always good and the prices are affordable. My wife and I love coming here during the night time (24-hrs). Plus, there's pretty open seating, majority of the time. The staff are also pretty nice and friendly. The only downside is that after 11pm or 12am, it can be super cold because the AC is blasting. If they could turn down the air a little bit for patrons late at night, it would be wonderful, but all in all, I totally recommend. We love the fact that the food is always, hitting! We'd give it a 9/10, only because of the AC, but whoever is cooking, they do a great job! The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious.

A wonderful stop off the beaten path! Learned that Bob and Edith have several dining locations. This one was clean and spacious, I like the old school diner feel, you can sit at the bar and watch the cooks master the flat top. Home made bread, delicious French toast, and a nice a la carté menu. Our service was excellent! She even gave us drinks to go!

I seriously wish I could say anything good about this place. It was dinner and the service, staff and food were NOT good. The restaurant feels dirty. The one server lacked ANY APPEAL OR WANT to be there. It was just an all around poor experience.

This place never disappoints. From the greeting received upon walking in, to our server and of course, the food, was very enjoyable. I really appreciate that there's a place on the menu that provides information on whether an item contains dairy, soy, etc. Also, it's 24 hours so that's a cool added feature if you'd need it.

I live really close to this location so whenever I'm hungry and don't feel like cooking breakfast I just walk over and either dine in or take out. Their menu has a little bit of everything and it's well priced. I took my dad who is retired here last Saturday and he arrived early was able to get seats I was running late but they let him wait unbothered served him coffee and was kind to him . Our food was great and we got to talk and catch up on a busy Saturday morning without feeling rushed or hurried off the table. My wife really loves the pecan pancakes but I go for the blueberry. A great local diner that has an extensive menu to satisfy those early morning or late night cravings.

Service was great, 5 stars. Food was a scant 2 stars. I've never had bad diner toast. Like ever. I ordered wheat toast. It was drier than the Sahara, with identifiable butter on only one piece, burned, and lacking any interesting jelly (grape? No.). It also was delivered 10 minutes after our food. Now for the tragicomedy. I ordered an omelette made with egg whites. Usually it's an upcharge for a regular-sized omelette made with just egg whites. What I got: On a side plate, a paper-thin smear of egg white about the size of a hotdog bun, with 2 tbs of filling in it. Twelve. Ninety. Five. No potatoes, toast, fruit, ANYTHING come with this for $12.95. I am the leftover QUEEN. I always take home extra food. I finished my "omelette" in 4 bites. Definitely no extra cheese or anything to dip my Sahara toast into. I would NOT return for the food.

My eggs were cold, one of my four slices of bacon was undercooked, the hash browns were undercooked, the English muffin was under-toasted and cold, and the "butter" was margarine. I will never eat there again. The service was good.

another 2 star review, sorry alexandria, you need some help with food offerings! family outing to the nations capital, more to follow. we stayed at an airbnb out this way, close to the huntington metro stop, so I guess that's a plus, also 24 hour, I would not want to be here 24 hours. If that was the case, wish this would have been a Waffle House, now that would be good as a tourist. Oh anyway, not good. I wanted some breakfast to be honest, but it was pretty pricey, so I passed for protein of another mother, the cheeseburger. It was again, mid, maybe under mid, but edible. Fries were average at best. Service was again sus, didn't hit it off with this plaza, I thought for sure we would be back here, but settled for dominoes delivered instead of this , so that should tell you too. 24*0 still equals 0

let me start off with i frequent this establishment VERY OFTEN ! i enjoy eating here . but my interaction TODAY JULY 8th 2025 , was TERRIBLE . the Manager on duty at 830 am this morning was so totally ineffective ,i've never experience such lack of customer service ever . i placed an order for pick-up THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE ., got to the restaurant to pick up said order and it had been given to a DOORDASHER to deliver to SOMEONE ELSE . when i realized this i quickly let them know and was told there was nothing He could do to help even though I PLACED THE ORDER THROUGH THEIR DIRECT WEBSITE ! i then called the help number and it started calling the restaurant as i was standing there . i was still told there was nothing anyone present in the restaurant that could help me . the server offered to make the food for me again and the Manager told her No . i would rather give my money to a place that wants it then lose my money and my food to a place that doesn't appreciate my spending habits . get your shit in order to. signed VERY DISGRUNTLED STARVING CUSTOMER .

Overall the service was great, and the food was excellent. You really couldn't tell from the outside.... Or really inside of just how great everything tasted. I thought it was just a bit expensive for what was ordered, but I would comeback

Service is good as the staff are attentive and good at their jobs. Decor leaves something to be desired though it's pretty standard diner, just bare minimum. The food is also good although to be honest based on the looks of the place I was expecting it to be a bit cheaper. Still, the prices are fair. As I write this the average review score is 3.6 which I'd say is about dead on, although you can't give half stars on Yelp.

I was visiting the area for a few days and decided yo try this place for breakfast. I was very pleasantly surprised by this little 24 hrs diner. The decor is typical diner and the menu has plenty of options. I chose biscuit and sausage gravy with homefries. The food came quite quickly and was quite tasty. The waitress was a lovely Serbian woman who was very attentive and friendly. The serving was large and I had leftovers for another meal later.

Delicious food choices at a reasonable price. Friendly service. Casual, family atmosphere. The bacon and hash browns were my favorite

Always a pleasant experience at this location. If there's going to be a longer wait, the staff kindly inform you ahead of time so you're not waiting an hour for your food if you choose not to. Food is tasty and fresh, and fairly priced. The dining room is very clean, and staff are attentive and friendly. Lots of parking!

While staff was attentive (quite literally watching me), I was very concerned about the meal I received. The muffin was totally overcooked and hard. The potatoes were heavily seasoned and cold. I tried my best to enjoy but I really could not finish anything. I was truly concerned for my health if forcing myself to eat $15 worth of overcooked, heavily seasoned food. The country fried steak (which I haven't had in years and was excited to try) was not fresh but was the only thing I could try to finish eating out of courtesy because the waitress was watching me while standing at the register as if aware that I would not enjoy the food. But nothing, absolutely nothing on that breakfast plate was edible due to being hard, salty and un-fresh. It is quite possible the food was made earlier in the day and placed in a microwave for reheating - adding too much salt/seasonings to camouflage the taste. I usually take shots of dishes when ordering from restaurants but this one was quite concerning that I didn't instinctively pull out my phone to take a picture. Though, I was happy to see it open early morning around 5 AMish when helping a neighbor to work. I snapped a short video of the well-lit establishment and picture of the menu. But enthusiasm was out of the window from there after the food arrived. Though, I did admire and appreciate the waitress for her compassion towards a person experiencing homelessness during such a cold morning. For that, I felt the restaurant was warm and welcoming.

Ate there twice in two of the three days in town on business. Fantastic food and service. Place was busy both times but they got food out quickly. I highly recommend this place. The Patty Melt is quite possibly the best I have ever had and their hash browns are cooked perfect!

I usually go to the location in Springfield VA, but this morning decided to try the North Kings Highway location in Alexandria VA. My friend and myself wanted orders to go. The server started with my friend. He took her order and disappeared into the back and never took my order. I was serviced by another very pleasant waitress. The male server got my friend's order wrong. Instead of correcting the mistake, the server goes to get who I assume was the manager. The guy comes over to us with an attitude and promptly asks to see her receipt. The server rang the order wrong, so he accuses my friend of changing her order. He said you come in all the time and do this. We explained this was our first time at this location, but he insisted that we had been there before. He was very rude and disrespectful to us. He basically thinks all black women look alike. We got a refund for my friend. This was a very disappointing experience. They need to do better! There was absolutely no customer service at all. I will never return to this location!!

Listen everyone it's just sad.. I came in after a rough day, my grandfather just passed and me and my wife wanted a late night dinner after a funeral. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot the servers were mean mugging us through the windows. We walked in and walked out they looked so upset that we walked in but it was still hours before they closed too. I felt so disgusted I wanted to complain because I'm coming in to give u guys money and they seem like they didn't want it.

Couldn't have stumbled upon a better breakfast spot! Perfect greasy spoon style diner with a great menu that has all the breakfast favorites sure to make everyone happy, adults and kids alike. I took my 3 year old daughter, and was impressed with the attentiveness of the waitstaff, cleanliness of the tables, and the turnaround time from order to delivery of food. I ordered an omelette, and there were many to choose from. My daughter had a pancake which she loved! Everything was delicious, and we had a great experience! Would absolutely dine here again.

I love the steak and cheese from Bob and Edith! It is soo good especially with the fries and mashed potatoes! The service is good and the place is a cute diner vibes.

Based on several recent visits, you always find a seat, the coffee is hot, and the service is good. When compared to other locations, this is my favorite one.

Went on a busy Sunday morning and had to leave after a long wait, the manager Adam offered to make things right the next day and I just enjoyed a delicious tuna melt and Snickers pie with great service from Tijana. I recently moved across the street and will definitely be back! Love me some old fashioned diner food and while the offer wasn't necessary it was appreciated. Highly recommend, especially on a slower afternoon to beat the weekend breakfast hype.

My wife and I have been coming to this location for 5 years - almost every Friday night. We learned tonight that our regular waitress, Littzy, was recently fired. This is young lady knew our orders as we walked through the door and made the place feel like home. We are very disappointed. There are many other places to go out to and without Littzy, this place does not feel the same. #BringBackLittzy

This evening was the second time I came in and was never given a menu or seen by a server. Both times it was not busy. Two guys sitting at the counter. One server was cleaning tables and organizing the newspaper. I used to come in once a week, but not anymore. Something happened to the quality of service and food earlier this year. Try a different diner if you get the chance.

My husband and I came in for breakfast the other day and I ordered a veggie omelette with home fries and rye toast. As I was taking a bite of my omelette there was a piece of ham. I do not eat PORK. I understand that accidents happen but I can't eat pork due to my beliefs and it's unacceptable. They offered to remake my meal but at this point I preferred just taking it off the bill. My husband ordered a sandwich and it came incorrect without lettuce, tomatoes and mayo the waitress said she put it in but the kitchen missed it and would have them add it. By the time the meal came back his fries were ice cold. It took about 15 minutes to get the same plate back. We knew it was the same plate since he had already added ketchup on the side. I don't think we will come back. The only reason I don't give this place a one star is because I've had other decent meals in the past.

Very busy but efficient service, they get you seated quickly, orders taken and food came out hot and fresh. I was able to made a substitution in my western omelette. Parking is a little tight since it's in a strip mall and there is no place to turn around.

Me: I've been to Bob and Edith's Diner before, mostly at the one in Springfield. Although they are pricier than most breakfast chains like iHop, I appreciate the, being a local business. Atmosphere: typical classic diner, similar to Silver Diner without the modern touches. They have old fashioned booths, tables, and an open kitchen. It may look outdated to others, but it is an aesthetic to the restaurant for operating for many years. Food: it's pricier than iHop, but most of the food is fresher. The burgers and country fried steak taste juicy and natural. It's not too salty nor greasy. The pancakes are not that good in my opinion. It satisfies my pancake cravings, but it's comparable to McDonalds (still good). I haven't tried much of their food because I typically go for pancakes with eggs and hash brown. The syrup is not watered down like iHop or Denny's. Service: I came here late on a Thursday night, so it looked like there was one server and one chef working. Friendly service, looked like they enjoyed working there. It's great to see a local restaurant open late at night and still offer dine in Overall: if you're from the NOVA area or want some good ol breakfast, then you should stop by here! The food is made fresh and the staff are nice.

First time....very busy usually mean's good.. Didn't disappoint....I was seated and served fast....good portions fair price..... Open 25 hours post covid... It's on the midnight rotation and home made milkshakes....I'm in heaven

My experience here was decent if I would be honest. My thoughts upon first coming inside to dine was the atmosphere. It felt very diner like, if that makes any sense to you the reader, lol. thats what I was looking for today exactly. I have thoroughly enjoyed the food experience here as well as the staff. I felt a bit rushed in the ending of my dinning experience but over all i will say it was a good dinning experience. Very Respectfully, Prophet

The food looked good but unfortunately I was not able to experience it. The waiter that took my order overcharged me with an incorrect order. I was willing to just go along and take the food and he adjust my receipt. He then has the manager who immediately came out with the nasty attitude from the jump. He then accused me of coming in there all the time and "doing that". I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS LOCATION BEFORE AND AFTER TODAY IT WILL BE MY LAST! I told him that I have never been at this location before, he then says " Well if you didn't don't come and do it again" sounding accusatory. At that point, I don't even want the food because what you're not going to do is mess around with or put anything in my food so I asked for a refund. He proceeds to snatch the bag with my pie and my coffee out of my hand. He definitely needs to take some type of customer service classes. And I hate to see anyone out of a job but he definitely doesn't need his. My 1st experience there was a bad 1st impression.

I had the most terrible experience today in my life. Server called Marta, She were super rude and careless. Took the order wrong and accused the customer for the her mistake. Also the guy who works in kitchen came and told us to listen carefully what she repeat in the future instead of handling the situation. These guys ruining your business profile!

This is a pretty popular place, especially on a Saturday morning. The maî·tre d was cordial and helped make for a pleasant visit. We were able to sit immediately at the bar. Here, we watched the comings and goings of the staff in and out of the kitchen area, cooking up eggs, meats, and waffles. The place was jumping! I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast with grits, hash browns (I switched out), and scrapple. The bowl of grits could feed three. The food was utterly delicious and piping hot. This is grown man eating right here. Somehow, I managed to get most of it into my stomach, whew. I think our waitress was new as she was not on her tippy toes but with a bit of prodding, she got the job done. The menu is varied and offers great options for lunch. Whatever you order, you will receive more than your money's worth and more. A great diner is always welcomed when I am away from home, especially when they serve scrapple done right!

Stopped here for lunch on our way home. The menu is simple, comfort food- and delicious! The staff greeted us. They were both pleasant and helpful. Pancakes were delicious, the grilled cheese was creamy and crunchy. Would have gone there every day had we discovered it sooner!

Me and my best friend were looking for an all night diner that we hadn't been to before that reminded us of a Waffle House. Good news: it was better than Waffle House. I had the B&E Burger with hash browns and apple juice. My bestie had the two eggs with bacon, grits, and white toast. There appeared to be two main waiting people and they were working hard. Kind, sweet, and fast on their feet. I saw the kind waitress run out of the diner just to return a woman her hand sanitizer. Terrell, our waiter, was just as amazing balancing 4 plates on one arm and one on the other without dropping for another table he was serving. They still both had time to check on us and make us feel like important customers. And the good news continues: we tipped them both well above 25% for their excellent service. Now I gotta come back, if for anything, more great service and that dessert menu ;)

The service is efficient and the servers are always so friendly! I only have had the eggs and bacon with hash browns plate. It is a tasty breakfast! They always have these yummy looking pies at the counter. I will be trying a piece next time! I highly recommend Bob and Edith's!

I expected high prices but when I got my eggs and country ham, the ham was so salty and overcooked it was not edible. Server told me it supposed to be salty. It was like eating salt with a spoon and like jerky. She took it away and I was charged full price for my meal. I'll not eat there again and I suggest if you do go there do not get the country ham!

The staff is nice, but sometime within the last year, they dropped the ball on their food. They changed chefs and it has been horrible ever since. My sister got horrible food poisoning from gray burger meat. It set her back a week. We tried to give it another shot, but I ended up with the saddest plate of chili cheese fries and the chili was sour. The cheese used was two slices of cheddar cheese that didn't melt. After taking a small taste of the chili, I sent it back and passed on ordering anything else. It's a shame because I use to enjoy this place. Now, it's awful.

Great service but food was very blah.. I went for the first time a few days ago and I'd like to know if government butter is such a thing? I heard they changed the butter to save money, but can we agree good butter makes the meal tasty? Hamburger patty wasn't good either, are they using government patties? To top it off, it was 6am and someone was taking a bird bath in the bathroom with the door unlocked lol
