Bob & Edith's Diner

Family friendly restaurant that serves your traditional American breakfast. The food and service was great and we had a great time. They offer free parking, with additional paid street parking and a public lot located just behind the restaurant. It is located within a few minutes of the airport so its the perfect stop before or after a flight.

A great 24/7 diner! Nothing too fancy on the menu, but sometimes you don't want fancy. The steak and cheese sub as well as the country fried steak and cheese were both very good! First time I was there they were short staffed and a large group came in, but the young man tried his best to keep up. I wasn't in a hurry so it was fine. Second time everything was smooth.

Stopped by for breakfast before spending the day exploring and would recommend. The food was good, prices were affordable, and there was no wait for a table. If you're looking for a quintessential diner experience for a meal then I definitely recommend Bob & Edith's.

Seems to be a great place to get food since it’s open 24 hours a day. We got breakfast (Sp#1 Ham & Cheese Omelet, American, Home Fries, Bacon 2 pancake $15.99 and Sp#3 French Toast, Scrambled egg, Sausage, Home Fries $15.99) here and the food we got was very filling and tasted great. The diner vibe of the restaurant is also very nice.

1st time in at little after 11pm… order 2 hot ham n cheeses with a mashed potato n gravy n potato salad..soooo good! Staff was pleasant .. read the other reviews but we had no issues n will def be back !……. Ok*Update! 2nd night .. we had to come back … 9:30pm.. got the double bacon cheeseburger specials with fries and potato salad for 12.95. Pic doesn’t do it justice but the burgers are huge and taste great! Another night of friendly staff and great food! I think this will now be a regular stop every year when we are in town for Padres games!

This was by far the worst experience I’ve had. For starters we arrived to an empty restaurant and were seated. The manager informed us that they were cleaning the grill and we would have to wait ten minutes to have our food. While he proceeded to do nothing, the waitress who was already overworked and past due of her shift informed us that she could take our orders but she was already past her shift and the person to replace her was late and that he should be the one to take the order. At that point we told her she could still take our orders. We were then informed that the menu we were looking at was now outdated because it was after 11 (we got there at 10:35 and at this point it’s 11:03) and we had to have the higher priced menu. At no point in our 25 minutes of us waiting were we told the menu would change or at no point did he help the waitress out who was attempting to serve 13 individuals. I will not be returning to this establishment and in the future I would encourage you all to train your managers to help the staff. It’s so unprofessional to have individuals as us to wait just to be told because you waited you now have to pay a higher price and we can’t give you the price of the food you were originally looking at.

I’d love to give it a higher score, but I had to do jumping jacks to get the waiter’s attention. Drinks were never addressed unless he was called over…at a diner, I want my coffee topped off and my tea filled at the least. The food was ‘ehhh’ for the prices. I literally could have eaten at The King Street Tavern next door at the Hilton for the same price and the service would have been better. If you’re staying at the Hilton, get the $27 buffet. The service and food will be better.

For the price you pay, the portion sizes & service are the best I've ever seen or had in most restaurants as of late. While other places are cutting corners, charging extra service fees, and giving portions so small, that it could make a Tapas restaurant faint, Bob & Edith's could give alot of current 5⭐️ restaurants a run for their money. If you go during the day, get the "Cheeseburger Sub," if you want an idea of a decent lunch. Make sure you add Bacon! It's so big.. I literally had it for lunch & dinner! A few detractors: Adding anything costs more which I don't mind paying, however the fries never survive the trip across the bridge to National Harbor( where I work)and end up soft almost soggy. Also the bun was super soft as well but I can forgive all of that for an awesome 👌 burger..Did I ask for a toasted bun? Or crispy fries? Definitely will next time!! P.S. I gave my co-worker the other half and he liked it so much, that I had to get 2 more this morning!!! Great fast service& food! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍
