Italy’s Most Popular Tourist Sandwich Spot Surprise Opens in Venice This Weekend | Eater LA

"I noted from the Los Angeles Times that Boba Guys, which has been mired in numerous staffing difficulties and has faced accusations of union busting and racial discrimination over the years, will become the first boba chain in Los Angeles to unionize: six LA-area locations will join the California Retail & Restaurant Workers Union (which also includes workers at Korean barbecue restaurant Genwa)." - Matthew Kang

A favorite boba spot of mine that originated from the Bay Area and now has 4 locations in Los Angeles. This spot is tucked inside the Platform in Culver City, a beautiful shopping oasis surrounded by lush plants and aesthetically pleasing walk ways. Boba Guys does boba right! They have sweet and perfectly squishy boba. Their menu is pretty customizable in terms of adding sugar, type of boba, or additional items. Price wise you could spend around $10 on a boba drink if you got their larger size and added extra boba. Typically it’s around $6 for a drink. We got their strawberry matcha boba, a lychee oolong and a mango tea with egg pudding instead of boba. Their lychee oolong was super refreshing!!

I've been a frequent visitor to Boba Guys in their SF locations, but this was my first time experiencing it in LA. I was delighted to find that the staff here was just as knowledgeable and friendly. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and tried their hojicha latte, which is somewhat akin to matcha but with a more roasted flavor. It was a delightful twist on a classic, and I'm glad I ventured to try something new. Boba Guys in LA certainly lives up to the reputation I've come to expect from this fantastic boba chain

I feel like boba guys used to be better, lots of competition these days. Pretty small shop geared towards take out. Lots of interesting flavor combos, some work some do not. Suggest staying with the basic flavor combos. Staff friendly. You can order ahead via app and pick up in the store.

This location does not include straws if you order it through a delivery app. I specifically clicked "Request utensils" in DoorDash and did not get straws 2 of the 3 times I ordered here. I give up. If it has boba and mochi toppings, just use common sense and include a straw...

Great customer service! I ordered a lavender black milk tea and it was too strong, and they offered to make me a new drink. Nice seating area outside. Love their cards and cute decor.

Love their newly drinkable mochi topping. Give you a sticky texture combination with your drink. Their Matcha Strawberry latte is our favorite

It’s all in the name - you come to this spot for boba, though they do offer the option of no-boba drinks. Came here with four other friends on a Saturday afternoon and hung out at one of the outdoor tables (there was an outlet underneath the bench seating in case you need to charge your phone). Paid parking is available in the garage or you can try your luck with metered street parking. Public restrooms are available by the Margot entrance. Credit cards accepted. Dogs are allowed. The line was about 5 groups deep, but it moved fairly quickly. You order/pay first and then they call your name when your drink order is ready. I got a hot matcha latte at 50% sweetness and I think they use honey as a sweetener. I’ve had their iced matcha with boba before too, and they give a generous amount. The boba is super soft and chewy, but it does get a bit cloying after a while, so you could also ask for less boba (it’s not cheaper if you do this though).

Solid spot for boba that has quality ingredients! Bin and Andrew have a large social media following and it's good to see them become successful after many years! This location is at The Platform in Culver City and is just a fun, new spot to check out in general with some boutiques and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream next door! Definitely visit!! Anyways, the boba here is very solid. Their Black Sesame is yummy, but if you don't like a gritty texture then it may not be for you. Super flavorful with fresh grounded black sesame! The Dirty Banana is subtle and yummy as well. A light banana flavoring with a bold espresso shot to give you some energy! Both were really enjoyable for me. Overall, will come back to check out their other boba drinks!
