Italy’s Most Popular Tourist Sandwich Spot Surprise Opens in Venice This Weekend | Eater LA

"I noted from the Los Angeles Times that Boba Guys, which has been mired in numerous staffing difficulties and has faced accusations of union busting and racial discrimination over the years, will become the first boba chain in Los Angeles to unionize: six LA-area locations will join the California Retail & Restaurant Workers Union (which also includes workers at Korean barbecue restaurant Genwa)." - Matthew Kang

San Francisco’s Ultra-Popular Boba Guys Draws Massive Lines in LA | Eater LA

"Opened in Los Angeles in April as the partners’ eleventh shop after ten locations between San Francisco and New York City, the PLATFORM Culver City location — which has no exterior sign — quickly drew long lines for drinks like Hong Kong milk tea and its signature multi-layered strawberry matcha latte. The concept emphasizes high-quality tea (steeping loose-leaf rather than powders), real fruit, and freshly made components: house-made brown sugar syrup, almond and grass jellies, continuously boiled tapioca for soft, chewy boba, and a choice of premium milks (organic Straus cow’s milk, Califia almond, and Oatly oat). Founded by Bin Chen and Andrew Chau from a 2011 pop-up in the Mission District, the brand aims to “bridge cultures” by presenting boba as an approachable coffee or juice alternative, elevating both ingredients and store design (Japanese/Scandinavian influences) while maintaining a memorable, friendly aesthetic (including an iconic aardvark logo). They streamline menus into seasonal releases, invest heavily in company culture and manager training, and leverage partnerships and social media to build buzz in Culver City." - Eater

Google
I’ve visited all their locations in San Francisco. We were in the area and had a craving for boba. It’s a tiny location with no indoor seating; however, there are lots of seats in the plaza outside. The bathrooms are only a few stores down too. Great to be able to use the loyalty program in SoCal. Go Andrew!!!

Austin Y.

Google
I ordered a strawberry matcha latte online for pickup at 5:30pm. When I get there at 5:35pm, they are closed even though their sign clearly says they are open until 6pm?? I have no way of contacting anyone and never got my drink? Boba guys you need to give me a refund for this fraudulent transaction. Don’t say I wasn’t there on time either because I’m literally posting this review before your posted closed time at 6pm.

Google
A favorite boba spot of mine that originated from the Bay Area and now has 4 locations in Los Angeles. This spot is tucked inside the Platform in Culver City, a beautiful shopping oasis surrounded by lush plants and aesthetically pleasing walk ways. Boba Guys does boba right! They have sweet and perfectly squishy boba. Their menu is pretty customizable in terms of adding sugar, type of boba, or additional items. Price wise you could spend around $10 on a boba drink if you got their larger size and added extra boba. Typically it’s around $6 for a drink. We got their strawberry matcha boba, a lychee oolong and a mango tea with egg pudding instead of boba. Their lychee oolong was super refreshing!!

Google
I've been a frequent visitor to Boba Guys in their SF locations, but this was my first time experiencing it in LA. I was delighted to find that the staff here was just as knowledgeable and friendly. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and tried their hojicha latte, which is somewhat akin to matcha but with a more roasted flavor. It was a delightful twist on a classic, and I'm glad I ventured to try something new. Boba Guys in LA certainly lives up to the reputation I've come to expect from this fantastic boba chain

Google
I feel like boba guys used to be better, lots of competition these days. Pretty small shop geared towards take out. Lots of interesting flavor combos, some work some do not. Suggest staying with the basic flavor combos. Staff friendly. You can order ahead via app and pick up in the store.

Google
Great customer service! I ordered a lavender black milk tea and it was too strong, and they offered to make me a new drink. Nice seating area outside. Love their cards and cute decor.

Google
It’s all in the name - you come to this spot for boba, though they do offer the option of no-boba drinks. Came here with four other friends on a Saturday afternoon and hung out at one of the outdoor tables (there was an outlet underneath the bench seating in case you need to charge your phone). Paid parking is available in the garage or you can try your luck with metered street parking. Public restrooms are available by the Margot entrance. Credit cards accepted. Dogs are allowed. The line was about 5 groups deep, but it moved fairly quickly. You order/pay first and then they call your name when your drink order is ready. I got a hot matcha latte at 50% sweetness and I think they use honey as a sweetener. I’ve had their iced matcha with boba before too, and they give a generous amount. The boba is super soft and chewy, but it does get a bit cloying after a while, so you could also ask for less boba (it’s not cheaper if you do this though).

Sky T.

Google
Solid spot for boba that has quality ingredients! Bin and Andrew have a large social media following and it's good to see them become successful after many years! This location is at The Platform in Culver City and is just a fun, new spot to check out in general with some boutiques and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream next door! Definitely visit!! Anyways, the boba here is very solid. Their Black Sesame is yummy, but if you don't like a gritty texture then it may not be for you. Super flavorful with fresh grounded black sesame! The Dirty Banana is subtle and yummy as well. A light banana flavoring with a bold espresso shot to give you some energy! Both were really enjoyable for me. Overall, will come back to check out their other boba drinks!

Yelp
Stopped by Boba Guys at The Platform in Culver City and had such a great experience. The staff was super friendly and even customized a drink for me I call " Hapa" half Hojicha & Matcha with coconut milk and coconut jelly. It was delicious! I also loved the Black Rose Milk Tea so smooth and refreshing. They have a really good selection, easy in and out, and you can't beat the location. Parking is simple too, just right across the street. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Yelp
I love coming to this Boba Guys for their Korean Banana Milk with Boba (5/5) every time! I will say come early to mid evening as I do think it tastes way better during opening times as it's freshly made and more chunks of banana and real banana flavor comes through. It's the creamiest banana with the right amount of sweetness and pieces of fruit within with their creamy, milk and chewy warm boba that's lightly sweetened with honey/brown sugar. I also like their Tie Guan Yin Oolong Tea (5/5) here since the tea flavor comes out so much. It seriously reminds me of boba tea in China where the tea leaves are seeped through so well throughout the boba tea. I got mine without boba just because I love the tea floral flavors more because the taste is already rich, slightly sweet, and refreshing with notes of lilac. I'm not much of a floral tasting girl but I LOVE this tea of theirs. Not too sweet either!

Yelp
There's a reason this SF-born franchise made its way down to Culver City. Their pearls are top-tier: chewy, flavorful, and easily among the best in all of SoCal. And yes, that includes the heavy hitters from Arcadia and the SGV.

Yelp
I wouldn't call myself a boba connoisseur, but let's just say I've had my fair share of (boba) balls in my mouth in my lifetime. Enough to know when a place is worth the hype--and when it's not. This one? Disappointing. Maybe it was the fact that it's a franchise, slowly losing its authenticity with each new location. Or maybe it just wasn't good, plain and simple. The boba lacked that perfect chew, the tea didn't have the richness I expected, and overall, it just fell flat. But at least the visit wasn't a total waste. The location itself was interesting--a Boba Guys inside a furniture store. As weird as that sounds, I actually enjoyed wandering around, admiring sleek chairs and overpriced coffee tables while sipping on my underwhelming drink. Will I be back? Probably not. But at least I got a little window-shopping out of it.

Yelp
i actually really enjoyed working boba guys but there are a few cons about this location. 1. free parking is quite difficult. you can get 15 minutes free in the garage across, and it is definitely doable. i would recommend ordering ahead in this case 2. the amount of boba they put is very little. I've been to other locations and the boba they put is much more. this location gives very little boba, and when I was trying to order online, it didn't let me get extra boba. however, this place is pretty good overall and has good boba. i prefer my teas to be a bit stronger (this place leans a little lighter), but overall, it's still good!

Yelp
I was having a really rough day so I only took a car pic for this treat. Boba guys is a really solid spot for boba. I had the rose tea boba at 50% sweetness and double boba and it really hit the spot. The boba itself had a nice bounce it them and the tea, I probably could have gone a little lower on the sweetness but overall it was exactly what I needed.

Yelp
Boba Guys has become my favorite boba spot. The quality of the drinks and texture of the boba are consistently good. My husband and I always order our drinks with boba. My husband is a creature of habit, and he has only ordered the Classic Black Tea with oat milk. I like the Classic Black Tea with half and half, and I have had the decaffeinated version too. We both get it with 50% sweetness. I also like the Strawberry Jasmine Fresca, which is refreshing. I liked the balance of fresh strawberry flavor and jasmine tea. They have seasonal flavors too, which I haven't tried. I've ordered in person and online. The service includes a friendly team that quickly prepares drinks even when they look busy. The drinks and service are 5 stars.

Yelp
Big fan of the Strawberry Fields boba drink. Only thing that's frustrating is that there's not a bigger size than 24oz.

Tristan L.

Yelp
Last time I had Boba Guys was probably 2 years ago in San Francisco. Forgot one opened up in Culver, and decided to check out the seasonal menu. Service was quick and drink was made to order. Ordered the Mango Sticky Rice ($7.20 Reg) except the drink was made incorrectly. Had to catch the train; so I didn't taste test the drink. The drink was good, with the sticky rice at the bottom so you have to give it a good mix otherwise it'll stay lumped. It had a weird sour aftertaste and I thought it was the mangoes but it turned out to be grapefruit! Normally my go-to order is the Jasmine Milk Tea, so I regret ordering outside my comfort zone.
google avatar

Zeeshan Q.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the milk tea Boba Guys had to offer. Their Jasmine milk tea was very delightful, slightly sweet and very aromatic. The Thai tea also had a nice sweet flavor. Big shoutout to the employees who took our order right before the store closed as well. Parking is the only hassle; there is a paid structure nearby, but I wish they had some free parking options for people who are just getting boba to go.

Yelp
Boba guys: the boba is spot on, perfect chewiness minus 1 star because they don't allow you to choose sweetness on their fruit drinks even though it was lychee oolong (they could dilute it with more tea, says my daughter who has done it) Given the obesity epidemic and just so people can be healthier, they should allow customers to choose sweetness on ALL drinks. ambiance: it's a very cool "mall" that it's located in. with all the "cool" stores. However as someone else noted, the parking is $$$ (cost of cool mall)

Yelp
Ordering online is incredibly convenient, and you can even use Apple Pay for online payment. No need to wait on-site, it's super convenient! I got the strawberry Matcha Latte, and the strawberry flavor was a bit sweet. For those who prefer less sweetness, I'd recommend adjusting the sugar level. You can also switch to other types of milk without any extra charge, which is really considerate. For another drink, I ordered Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea with pearls. I'm not sure why, but it looked watery and tasted quite diluted. The tea flavor wasn't very prominent, and they skimped on the amount of boba added. It was a bit disappointing to end up with just half a cup of milk tea without any boba. If you like boba, you might want to order extra boba, but that could increase the price too. Their boba were a bit firm, and after chewing on them for a while, my mouth started feeling sore. They're not the soft and chewy boba that I prefer.

Yelp
I love Boba Guys! It's a cute mini-shop in Topanga Village offering a wide range of drinks like boba teas, milk teas, coffee, and fruit drinks. With customizable options and a variety of boba types and jellies, there's something for everyone!

Yelp
I tried the strawberry matcha and made it a double matcha. I would normally complain about a $10 latte but it was big, so flavorful, well blended and good matcha! Looking forward to making this one of my go to's when In culver.
google avatar

Zeny L.

Yelp
Boba Guys is always a classic. I honestly think they have the best boba of all the chains. I haven't been in a long time but the last time I went back the taste and everything was super consistent.
google avatar

Alisa M.

Yelp
Strawberry matcha was pretty good but they were out of boba. There were 3 employees working and no one else in the shop and didn't plan ahead. If the word boba is in the company name, management should be better in checking to ensure boba doesn't run out esp when it's a "slow " day, as they said.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
The first time I've ever tried a Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba was at Boba Guys. The strawberry puree provides just the right amount of sweetness and blends beautifully with the matcha latte. Highly recommend this drink at Boba Guys, but the other items haven't been a hit for me. If you're craving a Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba, this is the spot!! Hot tip: They have plentiful alternatives to milk if you are lactose intolerant like me! ‍ Instagram: @jessgoeat

Yelp
After seeing Boba Guys on IG I had really high hopes for it to be mind-blowing but perhaps my expectations were too high. This location was small and there's stock shelves visible so decreases the aesthetic of the cafe. The boba was chewy and the ube flavor was good but a tad too sweet. Maybe I should've gotten the strawberry matcha that is all over IG but alas I'm not a huge matcha fan.

Yelp
This location was mine and my bf's first time visiting and trying Boba Guys! So many memories and it was BUSY. I remember walking over and parking in the back somewhere to a line out the door! We figured it had to be good if the line was that long so we hopped in line to try it. Took a minute but the sun was out and weather was incredible, perfect drinks to accommodate that! We walked around the area for a bit to enjoy our drinks. Quality of their Matcha drinks are delicious and top tier. Boba chewiness level is just the way I like it! Looking forward to visiting this location again, mainly for nostalgia purposes, but also for deliciousness! IG: @ammysalamii

Yelp
I ordered online and when I went in to pick it up I stood in line like the app said, after looking at the menu I decided I wanted to order something else. The girl at the register walked away, I assumed to take care of something and I figured she would be back. No, she just literally stood there and blatantly ignored me. So I walked over to her and she walked away from me again and went to the register. I'm like wtf, can I order? then I'm like never mind why would I spend more money at a place that doesn't even want me in there. We all have jobs, she really had some nerve to treat me like that when I didn't even do anything to her, she never even spoke one word to me, not a hello, didn't even say the order was ready, nothing. I had half a mind to tell her off but that's probably what her prejudice was looking for. And to top it off the drink was mid. BOOOOOO!
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
Ambiance: small tea shop located inside platform plaza, to-go and outdoor seating only Service: self-ordering portal and fairly fast service Drink: standard boba guys menu, drink itself was fine, boba was terrible, not made freshly, texture was hard and overly chewy STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE - *** the signature and most popular drink, organic premium-grade matcha from Tea People layered over the choice of milk and our housemade strawberry puree, adding boba, refreshing taste but disappointing boba HONG KONG MILK TEA - *** A robust but sweet premium loose leaf black tea blended with organic condensed milk, plain taste Price: overpriced for its quality, I would expect something better near $8 per drink with surcharge for boba
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Boba Guys and their quality of tea and boba! I have only been a handful of times because I'm not an avid tea drinker. I've only visited the Bay Area locations, so seeing a familiar Bay Area business in Southern California was nice. The staff gave us recommendations and explained some of the menu drinks. The parking here is not so good at all! We parked down the street, and looking for an open spot was a hassle. This boba shop is tucked away in a smaller plaza and has a small outdoor space with benches and chairs. My girlfriend and I sat on a bench and talked while sipping on our tasty boba. I got the Rose Milk Tea (Black Tea), and it was so good it reminded me of the T-Pump Rose Milk Tea back in the Bay Area. You can't go wrong with Boba Guys!
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
I truly wanna think that Boba Guys has the quality that they claim- and for some of their drinks, that's true (Hojicha, Black Sesame). But the ones my SO and I had today were sub-par. - Pandan Caramel Matcha w/ boba & oat milk ($6.20 + 0.75 boba): I liked the creaminess of the oat milk, but this is what I mainly tasted.. There were slight undertones of matcha, and even more slightly the pandan caramel. I would hope the pandan would stand out the most bc it's a generally a yummy flavorrrr Also the boba was hard/too chewy in the center, as if it's been sitting out for too long.. I threw away half of it (and I don't like wasting food) ): - Ube Latte ($5.85) - I would not recommend this. It tasted like medicine... Not sure if it was from the coconut milk or from the ube but my SO and I was not a fan. I will say their online ordering system is convenient, especially since I can use apple pay. Also the aesthetics surrounding this particular location is on point with all the plants and lighting. It was a little difficult to find (enough for me to ask for directions and I'm sure parking is just as hard) but I enjoyed the walk haha
google avatar

Karina L.

Yelp
Boba Guys is a great spot if you need a nice matcha treat. I've only gotten their iced matcha lattes with boba, but every time I've gotten the latte they've been consistently high quality. The latte is more of a milk tea when iced, but you get a very rich matcha flavor that any matcha lover will enjoy. The service is fast and I usually get my order in a timely manner.
google avatar

Nicole O.

Yelp
I really like Boba Guys but this is my first time at this location. Cute outdoors area, with a very small shop. I tried the matcha latte with oatmilk. Has a thickness to it that's just a bit grainy but still good quality. The Boba pearls were a nice amount of sweetness though. Because I ordered on the kiosk, I didn't know that they had a recommended sweetness level for the matcha drink. I'm greatful that they called me back to the register to clarify this, however I should have stuck to my chosen sweetness level of 100% because I do like my drinks at that level, so if you like it sweet that stick to the 100% sweetness level.
google avatar

Jill L.

Yelp
I'm a HUGE milk tea boba fanatic. I could drink it every day. Boba Guys is in the top three of my favorite Boba shops and I've been coming here since they only had locations in San Francisco and NYC! I love the iced strawberry Matcha latte and the Hong Kong milk tea. This time I decided to try something new so I got the black sugar hojicha milk tea with oat milk since I love the roasted green tea flavor, and it's also low in caffeine. They said it's not too sweet so I went with their recommendation, but it was indeed a tad bit too sweet for me. The flavor was excellent though so next time I would get it at 75% or 50% sweet. Also, thanks for having the bamboo straws! Good for the environment and they don't turn into a pile of mush after five minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
As a longtime boba lover, I always look forward to boba guys! I tried this location for the first time, and I must say the staff (a guy and a girl) were unnecessarily strange and standoffish. They did not want to be bothered. I even tried to ask a question and I was met with sarcasm and complete rudeness. Please if you're ever curious and want to ask a question, just don't. They didn't care to understand. They seemed too entertained with themselves, while the store remained a mess. Seems strange to say, but they kind of laughed at us and it felt really uncomfortable. I seldomly do bad reviews, but I felt that this was warranted for a place that only offers bad service, with lack of people skills. But hey, at least the boba was good. (The tiny store was very unkempt though) Hope things get better.
google avatar

Les A.

Yelp
Got the Ube flavor with boba and almond jelly. The boba was perfect consistency. The jelly was good; I had never tried an almond jelly before. I usually get almond pudding, but they don't have that. So just know, they aren't quite the same. I personally prefer an almond pudding instead. The Ube flavor tasted kind of medicine-like. I also ordered the salted toffee chocolate cookie. It was okay. It looked completely from the advertised photo, didn't really have any saltiness to it, and was already broken up into pieces in the package. I also received a business card for a cleaning service inside the bag, which I found a bit tacky. Not sure if I'll try them again. Perhaps might try out another flavor.

Yelp
Boba Guys has an incredible product, been enjoying their stuff for years, I'm a member of their loyalty program - was so disappointed with service we received. The new iPad order system is frustrating as 1) it lacks options for customization 2) was used by staff as a barrier by the staff to not be welcoming or offer to take my order. Stood waiting for two minute plus as they both ignored me, no greeting, no direction to the iPad (which I didn't want to use as I am a loyalty member and needed to order in person, their rules not mine) so after waiting I said screw it and just ordered on the app. Which they promptly pulled from the printer and got to work on. When I was able to get their attention, I asked them to split one of my drinks between two cups (for my kids), they refused saying they could get me a second cup. But distributing drink and the heavy boba into a new cup is impossible, you just pour all the drink out and leave all the boba at the bottom. Had to go next door to VanLeuwens to get a spoon to split the boba for my kids. Loved and frequented this place for years, live around the corner. Just super bummed how crappy service ruined our experience.

Yelp
strawberry matcha latte: 10/10 perfectly balanced drink. so much more intricate than most other boba shops we loved it dirty banana milk: 9/10 such unique and rich banana flavor combined with the espresso was a match made in heaven

Yelp
I was craving a matcha drink, so I headed over to Boba Guys. I usually order the Strawberry Matcha Latte, however I ordered the seasonal Midori Cloud since the drink caught my eye. The Midori Cloud looked very similar to the matcha einspanner latte I usually order at Memory Look and Damo. This particular Boba Guys is located in a cute shopping center in Culver City. There is limited street parking and public parking in the parking garage located next to the shopping center ($). There are a few different restaurants and shops in the shopping center, and there are also many open seats where you and your friends can drink/eat and chat. The service at this Boba Guys was not as great as the service in the Bay Area. The employees were there to answer the questions I had, but it was a bit difficult to get their attention. They also weren't as welcoming when I walked in. The Midori Cloud drink was a solid 4.5/5. The foam at the top tasted similar to cheese foam. The creamy foam went well with the matcha! Make sure to fully mix the foam with the matcha to get the full Midori Cloud experience.

Yelp
Boba Guys is located at the Platform. I'm not sure how parking is normally for their parking structure, but they do have one. I decided to park on a side street at the loading zone. The shop is small and meant for patrons to order and pick up their drinks only. There's seating outside at the Platform and plenty of other shops around. I had ordered online on a Monday morning, and the receipt said my drink would be ready around 11:10 AM. I arrived at 11:45 - 11:50ish, and my drink wasn't available yet. They had literally no customers and the place was empty considering it was a Monday morning. Yet, my drink still wasn't ready. So the server was able to make my jasmine milk tea in under 2 minutes. This was super quick. Another hiccup I ran into is that my order was supposed to have 75% sugar, but they opted to give me a drink with no sugar at all. Despite all the hiccups, I think I would still return when I'm in the area. (I'm going to assume they got some new employees.) It's in a small modern shopping plaza with great dining options. So while I had more fragrant jasmine milk tea elsewhere, the tea here still tastes pretty authentic to me.

Yelp
Boba Guys has trendy and Instagram worthy drinks. Small shop in cute Platform complex with benches and various outdoor seating areas. There's parking lot (15 min free) or street parking available For the drinks: They use fresh and organic ingredients. Strawberry Matcha Latte is classic. Korean banana milk is surprise favorite. I'm not fan of banana flavoring and this is made with banana jam, which makes it better than Korean banana milk imo

Yelp
this boba guys i went to four times in LA and their strawberry matcha always hit the spot. Just enough flavorful matcha to balance out the sweet strawberry marmalade. ALSO OATMILK is free and it tastes amazing with the strawberry matcha. the patio outside is so cute to hang out and drink and the little shop itself is this pretty cortan steel modern store with lots of cute succulents and trees around for a cute photo opp

Yelp
It was my 1st time trying this place and I was really looking forward it, but it ended up being pretty disappointing. The boba was hard and there's lots of better boba options out there.

Yelp
It's honestly hard to have a bad experience at Boba Guys. They're consistent, good quality, and get the job done. After trying several of their locations in the Bay Area and now trying their LA locations, it really proves how well trained and consistent they are. Their drinks are IDENTICAL to the other locations from the other side of the state! + My favorite drinks include the Strawberry Tea Fresca, Hong Kong Milk Tea, and Haw Flakes Tea. I recommend ordering from their online site since they tend to have long lines, especially on the weekends. Keep in mind, the online ordering system is a bit flawed and may not tell you exactly when your order is ready. You may need to communicate with the cashier and ask them as soon as you arrive. The ordering system never texted me.

Yelp
I love coming to this location! Staff greets you as soon as you step into the store and the drinks here are always so good. This time my fiancé and I got something brand new from our go-to orders. We got a strawberry delight (strawberry milk) and a lychee oolong tea. Both were really good. The boba is always so soft and perfectly cooked; it's always a great addition to any drink.

Yelp
Boba Guys remains the best boba I've ever had. Anytime I'm anywhere near a city that has one, I have to stop. I'm sad that they closed their NYC locations so now I have to make a trip to the west coast to get it. We tried two new drinks this time: - Butternut Spice Latte with Boba (seasonal) - Korean Banana Milk with Boba and Vanilla Cloud I loved both of them. The Butternut squash was a little savory but also sweet. It was very unique -- I've never had a butternut squash drink before. The Korean Banana Milk was a sweet drink, but it wasn't super sweet, very good. I've really never had a bad drink here. They make everything and you can tell. No powders or anything like that. If you've never been, next time you're in LA or the Bay Area, get on it.

Yelp
This place is so cool. I love the logo it's so cool. The staff was amazing. Loey the cashier was so kind and insightful. She provided the best recommendations. I am definitely coming back because of her beautiful soul. The lady with the red hair was the sweetest and she made my delicious banana boba tea.

Yelp
For the last couple months, I've been going here two times a week when I go to the Sweetgreens restaurant in the same shopping center. I basically go to papa guys because it's there and I need to wait another 10 minutes to get my Sweetgreen lunch. I have tried almost everything on the menu except for the coffee drinks. Consistently though, other than Korean banana milk or the lychee I don't really like the drinks. The bobas tend to be very chewy, and not in a good way, drinks tend to be a little bit over sweet, and if you forget to ask for light ice the cup is full of ice. The employees are excellent, but the menu in the store is also limited compared to other Boba places. For example Latea, down the street in downtown Culver City on Main Street and Washington, has a menu with probably 10 times the options. With every item perfect and they have the most amazing plastic cup with a built-in lid. Latea is a real Chinese Boba place, not like Boba guys. So if you're used to traditional for Boba stores you are not like Boba guys.

Yelp
The drinks here are absolutely delicious! I really enjoy their tea, as well as coffee, service was great, friendly, and fast! They use high-quality ingredients and customize the drinks to your liking. A great spot. If you are looking for a drink in the area, highly recommend it!

Yelp
2 stars for the drinks & a negative star for the poor service. The guy & the girl working there clearly didn't want to be bothered. As we walked in, the guy kinda greeted us, but the girl said nothing. Those two just kept chitchatting like no one else was in this unkept tiny store. The girl didn't even bother to say my order name, just put our drinks on the counter. She completely ignored us the whole time we were in the store. Just rude & hostile vibes. There are a bunch of boba shops to choose from on this part of LA, so no need to go back there for another round of bad service: The drinks we got, the beach Fresca & the Thai iced tea were ok. Unlike many boba shops, you can't customize the sweetness & the ice level, though.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with the matcha strawberry at Boba Guys! They use a strawberry puree that tastes fresh and the matcha isn't grainy. SO happy there's a location in LA as I initially tried them in New York!

Yelp
drink (3/5): Classic Black with Boba ($5.50) - A lot of people talk about Boba Guys so I had to try it. I wanted to try their classic black. The milk tea itself is too sweet for me. The boba was kind of hard and unpleasant to eat. I thought it would be better. It is not my favorite boba shop. service (4/5): The ordering process was quick and easy. Culver City Boba Guys only allow for contactless payment such as apple pay. Parking (3/5): There is a parking garage for Platform LA in Culver City but you have to pay to park. There are some places in Platform that will validate parking but Boba Guys do not validate. - Please vote below, comment, and like the photos to give me feedback on my reviews - For more reviews and photos, follow my instagram: @nvc.eats

Yelp
Ambiance: Love the location here. The outside is very relaxing and peaceful when you need a break. I thought the customer service was great. Taste test: I thought my milk tea tasted good. It has a unique blend of flavors that was refreshing. The green drink had a layering taste - not sure what it was- but it tasted pleasant with a unique twist in taste that I've never gotten from other boba places. Also I came here because of jk news :)

Yelp
The boba here is semi-sweet, al dente, and not soft and mushy. For sweetness reference, I normally order my milk tea bobas with 25% or no sweet. Ordered: - Korean Banana Milk with Espresso: The espresso in this was AMAZING. I actually thought the banana taste in this was quite mild and would've forgot banana was even in the drink if it weren't for the occasional mused banana chunk that passed through the straw. I would say this drink is light-to-medium sweet. - Strawberry Matcha Latte: This is the best fruit puree + matcha I've had in LA, but I would only give it 4/5 stars because there was too much ice and the matcha flavor was too weak. However I do love the strong, grassy flavor of matcha. The drink is on the sweet side but it is not overly sweet. - Black Sugar Hojicha: I LOVE hojicha without milk and sugar but this drink was just WAY too sweet for me. Like, sickeningly sweet. You couldn't taste much of the tea flavor which was disappointing! The tapioca balls were great though, as always! Also, minor thing, but all the cups here are always super sticky! There's free 15 minute parking out in the front of the cul-de-sac and also a parking ramp that has a happy hour (half off) on weekdays (I think? I went at 2-4PM on a Thursday). I think an hour is $2 and two hours is $4 without the happy hour discount.
