Quick Summary:
- Lots of tables and chairs
- Line isn't as long as the one in Stockton
- Wait time is around 15 to 20 minutes, getting your order is another 5 minutes
- Chewy sticky boba pearls
- Bamboo fiber straws
- To quicken the line, decide on an order before you arrive to the counter
We found this boba place when we were started to get thirsty from walking around. There was a line, but it contained roughly three groups of guests. Compared to the line length in the Stockton branch, this one I can wait (it's almost as long as the line in my most favorite tea store).
The ordering style appears simple but if you decide once you get to the counter, that's where the line grows long. You select the tea type, and then the toppings. Or, one can pick the specialty drinks, which the toppings and tea types is pre-selected (the pretty matcha and strawberry is on this list).
I was thinking of trying the orthodox black tea with boba combination, but a poster near the entrance, that displayed the seasonal drinks, caught my attention. It sounded good, especially the hōjicha, so I picked this. Since it was a cold day, I requested "no ice." For those who do select "no ice," the drinks are mixed together, so it won't have the cool layering or design on the tea.
The tea was very good! The tea flavor is pronounced in Boba Guys. I can clearly taste the roasted flavor of what I know of hōjicha. The boba pearls were nice too; they were small and chewy. Near the end, there were a few pearls that were sticky and were glued to other pearls. To my surprise, the black sugar didn't make the drink overly sweet. It was almost subtle, or drinking a slightly sweet tea. It was a good experience.
On top of this branch having tables and chairs to sit and relax while having tea, I enjoyed having tea here. :D
