My friend and I walked to Bobacat Tea House our first night in Portland from The Hotel Zags and fell in love with it, it’s Cat Polaroid Wall—how do I get my cats on there—and their drinks! I grabbed some milk tea and loved it! I wish I had one back in IL!

Wenjing Hu

Google
The store is very cute, the bottles, the bottle tops, the logo, the store setup, even the outside cat paintings! The drink was so good I would definitely recommend going there. It has a picture wall of cute little cats. The staff there were super kind. I hope I can go there again sometime soon!!

If you asked me three months ago, I would have given this place five stars. But now it’s not as consistent. Previously the boba was nice and chewy but not too soft with some sweetness. The last two times, however, the boba texture has not been good. Last time it was not chewy at all and slightly firm. Today I went at noon, only an hour after open, and the boba was very hard and clumpy. Clumpy where the boba clumps get stuck in the straw. Hard like it’s either been sitting there a long time or was not cooked correctly (this is especially weird since I came an hour after opening - did they use the previous day’s boba? Change in boba supplier? Workers not making it the same way?). Some of the most disappointing boba ever. On the plus side, the Assam milk tea is still good (strong tea flavor, smooth creaminess) I typically only go here once a month because it’s out of the way for me, but probably won’t go as often anymore due to inconsistency. It’s not worth the pain of trying to find and having to pay for parking.

Google
Super cute spot!! I'd love to go again. The staff is really friendly too. Matcha latte ⭐⭐⭐✨ - I think I would fall in love with something else here - this was just ok to me, but gets more stars bc it wasn't bitter, it wasn't tremendously flavored either

Google
Went here today, very good strawberry and lychee green tea. And latte. It was super busy but they were pretty quick. Outdoor seating and inside as well, unfortunately only street parking which is hard. But definitely will be back if in the area.

⚠️ I found a piece of a steel scrubber inside the boba at this store — and I accidentally swallowed part of it before I realized. This is a severe food safety violation that could cause serious internal injuries. When I brought this to the store’s attention, their response was deeply disappointing. They offered me only a gift card and told me that “if I get sick, their insurance will cover it.” This is not just about money — it’s about accountability and basic food safety. A customer should never have to fear swallowing metal in a drink. Their reaction felt dismissive and irresponsible, and I am still worried about potential health risks. I’ve kept all the evidence and am reporting this incident to the local health department. I strongly advise others to think twice before coming here.

The Honey Citron Ginger is one the best drinks I've ever had! Customer service was great and the price for two drinks was less than $13. Definitely recommend.

Google
I had a delightful experience at Bobacat. The ambiance was enjoyable, and the customer service was excellent. The dark cocoa and mango milk tea were delicious, showcasing a good variety of options. Overall, a great spot for quality drinks and a pleasant atmosphere. 4 stars because I feel like the space could use a deep clean. Especially on the floors and walls!

Yelp
One of the best boba places I've tried in downtown Portland! First, I absolutely love the ambience and decor of the place! If you can't tell by the title and logo, it is cat themed! It's a very cozy place to sit at and enjoy a drink and they have cute Polaroids of cats on the wall! It does get kind of crowded weekends since it's right next to PSU though. Drink wise, I think their drinks are amazing for the price! I visit here often and my go to drink is the Mango Tea with Black Tea and boba (~$5.75)! Very worth it as I've been to many boba places that are $6+! Their boba quality is superb, very tasty, the perfect texture! Btw, I haven't had this happen to me but multiple friends have told me that they do sometimes run out of boba! (Usually when it's closer to closing time!) which is a bit disappointing! So I would recommend checking them out earlier in the day!

Yelp
Boba: the boba is nice but the lemonade is very sour Waffle: the waffle is nice full of flavor and I recommend It plain then get it with fillings later Service: staff are nice Ambiance: there are loud machines running Atmosphere: there are nice wooden tables reminds me of muji

Yelp
Love their adorable cat-centric decor! The drinks?... Not so much. Both our milk teas tasted watered down and underwhelming. If I had browsed their kitchen first, I wouldn't have ordered anything. Towards the back are dispensers for 3 tea bases. To the left is a wall of flavored syrups - yikes. I was hoping for quality, authentic flavors. Drinks didn't take long to make, but a sour odor lingered in the shop, making it unpleasant to wait or hang out. We gave up after a few sips and immediately left for another milk tea shop.

Yelp
The drinks here aren't as good as they used to be. I remember really enjoying the brown sugar milk tea on a previous visit, but this time it was overly sweet, and the boba was overcooked and lacked the ideal chewiness. The space also felt less organized, with boxes cluttering the front area, making it feel a bit chaotic. Parking can be tricky since it's limited to street parking, so it's hit or miss. That said, it's still worth checking out if you're in the area and craving boba.

Yelp
I LOVE BALLS! the tapioca pearls are always fresh and warm and perfectly chewy. been coming here consistently and have never had any problems. everytime i take a sip its like 2014 jcole is having a concert on my tongue and adele is singing rolling in the deep on my tastebuds.

Yelp
Located near PSU, this coffee shop is a gem in Downtown Portland. After eating at a nearby Thai spot, my friend recommended this boba shop so we headed here for a dessert. The inside of the boba shop is cozy, nicely decorated, with some seats. The staff here were super helpful in giving recommendations for a drink. This boba shop has your traditional milk teas, but also some other fun ones I've never seen before, such as: blackberry fresh milk, Assam milk tea, and seasonal drinks. The toppings are limited, but they are also good. Overall, I think this is a pretty cool spot and I would come back if I were in the area.

Yelp
Bobacat Tea House caught my attention with their cute name. Yes, I like cats! After enjoying my first order of 7 drinks from them, I knew I'd found a new favorite place for tea! I love jasmine green tea and oolong tea. Here at Bobacat you can add your choice of several flavors to these teas such as rose, lychee and peach. The flavor of the tea is very good. It tastes like quality tea. My friend enjoys their milk teas, especially the strawberry milk tea and matcha milk tea. There is inside seating and service is quick and pleasant. Bobacat Tea House is located near PSU downtown and is close to a streetcar stop. Highly recommend!

Yelp
First time and I fell in love with Bobcat. Cute interior, friendly staff, and I am obsessed with the drink I ordered, passionfruit, white peach oolong tea with boba. Soooo tasty. The passion fruit had a fresh authentic flavor, the tea was not bitter and the warm soft boba had a great caramel undertone that paired well with the fruit. I will be back for more.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed with Bobacat. I was excited because of the cute packaging and interior design of the place.... However the boba quality is subpar. I got the bobacat milk tea 0% sugar. The boba pretty much disintegrates in your mouth and it's not chewy at all, which, to me, means it was overcooked or sitting there for a while. The milk tea doesn't taste like milk or tea. It felt very watered down. Cheese foam is probably the best part; it does not have a very strong flavor which matches the not-very-strong-flavored drink. I expected better quality from Bobacat's signature drink, even if there's no sugar. No sugar should emphasize the bitterness of tea, but it did not. 2 stars for fast service, standard (not too expensive) prices, and 0% sugar really tasting like 0% sugar. There are no ice or size adjustments. There is a lot of street parking nearby with standard Portland prices. I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
If the cute art outside doesn't entice you to come it to get the boba I will say they have polaroids of the staff and their cats lining the walls and they are the cutest! I popped in and out pretty quickly so I didn't enjoy the space much but the boba was chewy and the classic milk tea was the right amount of sweetness for me. I'd come back to check out their other flavors for this boba shop near campus.
google avatar

Yelp
Really good boba! I was impressed with the quality of the boba itself- super chewy and soft. I ordered the regular milk tea, 50% sweet because apparently that's the lowest they go. It was pretty good milk tea quality too. I can't wait to go back. There were seating available to just chit chat and the employees were nice. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Bobacat has been my number one go to Boba spot. It's also a favorite among my friends as well. I've been going there since it opened up at the PSU campus. The interior is nicely decorating with Polaroids, lights and other decorative pieces. It's like a little hole in the wall. I got there an hour before it was closing, it was a little busy but got more busier after I ordered. It took 10 mins after I ordered to get my drinks. I ordered the Jasmine milk tea and the Bobacat milk tea with brown sugar both had some sweetness adjustment (50%). I like their tapioca pearls are made very well and have a good texture and consistency to it. I make sweetness adjustment just cause I like my milk teas not too sweet (that's just a preference). My favorite milk tea at Bobacat would have to be the jasmine milk tea.

Yelp
Cute boba shop near campus! They have such great flavors! I got the passion fruit tea! Boba is not included! There are cute Polaroids of peoples cats on the wall which I found adorable! The staff are students and they were all sweet! The only thing they are missing is actually cats to come cuddle with while at the shop. Because a lot of students come here there is a lot of outlets and seating available.

Yelp
Can't believe it's been a week without boba. So, I had to get my boba fix. Saw this place called Bobacat. It's owned by the Tai restaurant upstairs called Somtum. Ordered the bobacat milk tea boba. The tea was very good, and the fresh boba was still warm, soft, and chewy. They flame melted the cream cheese on top. If you want great tasting milk tea with fresh boba, you should checkout bobacat.

Yelp
So disappointed with the order recently from Bobacat. My husband picked up the online order so he wasn't sure what went wrong until he got home. The order i got was nothing like what I've ordered and what's in the photo or drink description. I've ordered from this shop numerous times and always the same drink too; and it has been the go to milktea shop in Portland for me for quite some time. They never got the order wrong and I've always done the online ordering as well. I am not sure if they have changed owner recently or training new staff but it's so sad i have to let go of this shop.

Yelp
As a person who have tried numerous milk tea and have standards since I'm spoiled with lots of boba shops in SF, this place is solid! And it's within walks to the Portland State campus from our hotel. Got the oolong milk tea with 50% sugar. Given I usually got with zero sugar, 50% is actually perfect and not too sweet on my taste buds which I'm usually afraid of as each place the sugar sweetness varies. This is a must go and their tea taste is strong which I love! Creamy yet so good! So far this is the only place I come across that I actually liked and would go back when I come back to town. Def a must try place!

Yelp
Cats and boba...fusion goooooo....bobacat. Not going to lie, the cat logo was fun and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The boba brought sadness to my heart. I ordered the popular item bobacat brown sugar with boba. I thought the tea itself was mediocre, and the boba consistency was way tooooo soft like boogers that are snotty. The cafe seating arrangement was fun for hanging out or doing some studying. For these reasons, I gave it a solid 3 for PDX standards.

Yelp
I rarely drop by the Portland area but remember seeing my friend trying out their drinks here so I decided to give it a try! Environment: inside was very small and very low ceiling. Watch your step as you open the door. I think the exterior is a lot prettier and cuter as there were lots of cats. The inside had a few seats but the music was a bit loud as I had trouble hearing the register asking me questions. Staff: nothing outstanding. Just said my number when I ordered and when it was done. Drink: I got their oolong milk tea, 50% sweet for $4.99. Price was reasonable and a super cute cup! Their oolong flavor was very different than other oolong milk teas I've had. It's hard to explain but it was very refreshing, light, and not too sweet! I enjoyed it and hope to try their other flavors when I drop by that area again!

Yelp
Curiosity got us walking in, welcomed by the most obtrusive stock wall of boxes is their design, pillars & lobby area that look mid-construction. Expecting a cute cat parlor but nothing relating to the name or logo. Honey Citron Ginger $5.25 ~ asked for little ice was filled half ice; are you kitten me?! Orange slices look nice for pics but were not muddled, ginger faint in flavor. A grab and go spot between classes, not a study lounge for the students.
google avatar

Yelp
Small boba shop near the PSU campus. There's some seating, but the shop itself is a bit dark, and I personally wouldn't come here to study/work. We grabbed our bobas to-go. There's a wall of cat polaroids which I thought was a nice touch, but not much of a "cat cafe" if that's what you were expecting. Got the Assam Black Milk Tea with coffee jelly for $5.25, didn't change the sweetness or ice levels. Tea flavor was okay and not too strong, but would have liked more. Coffee jelly was fine. There was a lot more ice than I would have liked, so definitely request less ice if that's what you want. My friend got their blackberry fresh milk with boba - I tried it and it's definitely interesting, and the boba was made fresh so it was still warm and chewy. Overall, it's an okay boba shop if you're craving boba and in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it again.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
So, after the first time I came I was going to give it a 5/5 but then the second time wasn't as great. It's a cute cafe with some seating indoors and a cat- theme. It's fairly popular at certain times being close to PSU but they have relatively fast service. I got a passion fruit tea which tasted great but I could change the ice. Toppings were extra. My friend got an oolong milk tea with bubbles, which were super fresh! But then we returned. I got another fruit tea with cream cheese foam... it came with like 1mm of foam for $0.75. I was very unimpressed.
google avatar

Vivian T.

Yelp
Usually when I go to Bobacat the drinks are good, however, this time the tapioca pearls were not cooked well at all. Half of the boba balls were HARD and the other half were so soft they melted in your mouth. I had to spit out the hard ones because if I can't chew them I probably shouldn't swallow them The strawberry fresh milk itself was good, so I drank the drink trying to avoid the boba pearls
google avatar

Miki M.

Yelp
Stopped by here after lunch since we were in the area. I love the theme of this bubble tea shop and wanted to see how the drinks are. The shop was rather small with some tables and chairs. The cat photo wall caught my attention, all the cats look so cute! We ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Bobacat Boba and Sugarcat Fresh Milk Brown Sugar. The jasmine milk tea was delicious, the tea flavor was prominent and very smooth. The boba was good too, it was slightly too chewy for my taste. Just as a note for their signature drinks, you can't adjust sweetness or alternative milk.

Yelp
Super yummy, and has great atmosphere Its hard to but cute shop! Customer service was well.

Yelp
Boba at mild tea brown sugar Service was fast ! Cashiers were helpful and patient Ambiance is very aesthetically pleasing with a lot of cat Polaroids:) They're open from 12pm-9pm 10/10 Very flavorful drinks ! Perfect place to come grab a drink and study. It's also Portland state University

Yelp
Such a cute little shop in downtown Portland! It's a cozy place to sit and read a book while surrounding yourself with cute polaroids of cats :3 I got the jasmine milk tea with brown sugar jelly (50% sweet, less ice) and it was pretty tasty! Perfect sweetness for me. At first, the barista added bubbles instead of the jelly, which I realized after I had left the store, but I came back and they gave me a new cup with jelly right away. The prices were decent and honestly better priced than a lot of the bubble tea shops out there selling toppings for $1 *cough*RoyalTea*cough*... Come here if you're in the area!
google avatar

Ploy N.

Yelp
New boba spot! Same owner as the Somtum Thai Kitchen and it's right underneath the restaurant, making it a great spot to sooth your palate after some soicy Thai food. The interior is super cute and modern. They offer a good selection of drinks and toppings, as well as adjustable sweetness. I went for the Strawberry Milk this time and it didn't disappoint. Got the 50% sweetness but definitely can do even less. Flavors were super good and refreshing. Totally will be going back to try their other stuffs.

Yelp
Love the cat logo! I am always looking into finding new bubble tea places to try and I was very happy when I got to try Bobacat. Will definitely go again and try more flavors.

Yelp
So happy I got the chance to visit this boba shop during my Oregon trip! :-) Do note that they're in VERY close in proximity to Portland State University - literally a 3-5 minute walk from campus. So there will be days when they sell out due to a large influx of student customers. Unfortunately, my partner and I dropped by during one of those days at 3pm and they were sold out and closed for the rest of the day. They also don't seem to have a phone number tied to their business so I couldn't call to make sure they're open before coming. But we were determined to make it happen, and we're happy we got to drop by before our trip ended! First of all, I LOVE the branding! To be frank, I'm biased af because I'm a huge cat lover butttt I still think most people would be able to enjoy it if they have any ounce of love for cute little animals. :') The logo shows a cat spilling out of a boba cup - like C'MON, HOW CAN YOU NOT APPRECIATE THAT?! When you step inside, you'll see a wall full of cat polaroids (yay!). There isn't much seating inside as the store is quite tight, but it's enough to seat a couple of small parties. The barista was really helpful in answering our questions and guiding us to pick a drink based on popularity. They have a Top 10 Menu if you're indecisive. :-) I ordered the Bobacat Signature Milk Tea with boba (less sweet, less ice) and my boyfriend got the Bobacat Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba (less sweet, less ice). Both came with a layer of crema on top and were amazingly delicious! I personally liked my bf's more because the pockets of brown sugar made the drink more flavorful and sweet. Mine was still really good but it's just not as sweet. Would definitely come back if I'm in Portland!

Yelp
I've been to boba cat soooo many times it's kind of embarrassing but this is my favorite boba spot ever! I've had a lot of boba tea all over Oregon but I still haven't found another store that comes close to this place! I normally get an assam black milk tea with brown sugar boba and the boba here is to die for. They're the perfect texture and have a great texture that doesn't feel too sweet with the rest of the drink at regular sweetness level. The service here is always super friendly and fast I'm always impressed with how fast they can simultaneously pump out both DoorDash/pickup orders and in person order at the same time. I also love the cat theme just being in there with all the cute pics of cats and little cat knickknacks here and there really just make me happy to be there and wait for my drink. :)
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
The tea and boba were some of the best I've had in Portland. The service was subpar, didn't quite feel like the workers cared to be there & when asking about making my drink less sweet they said it was possible but never asked me about my sweetness or ice preferences. So I ended up getting a $6 drink overpacked with ice. Highly recommend preordering through their website so you can make sure you're preferences are picked.
google avatar

Yelp
I would recommend Bobacat tea house to others because I don't want my experiences to sway folks away. It is a cute cat themed cafe. Lots of Polaroids of cats. The menu disappointed me due to the lack of vegan options available. Milk teas aren't vegan friendly. I assume the drinks are pre-made because the barista refused to sub dairy alternative milk (soy, almond, and oat). I was confused why they couldn't add dairy alternative milk into a basic thai tea or Jasmin tea, but I ordered a strawberry milk with soy milk. They charged an additional 50 cents for soy milk and tapioca, which was annoying. The drink ended up being extremely sweet despite asking for 30% sweetness.

Yelp
I was in need of a boba fix and Bobacat did the trick! They have a great menu of different drinks with milk substitutions. I ordered the Sugarcat Fresh Milk Brown Sugar with oat milk. The service was quick and the staff were super friendly. Overall ambience was cozy, and it was fairly easy to find. Will definitely go again to try other drinks!

Yelp
Yummy drinks, beautiful ambiance, but no wifi. Perfect place to do work, nice jazz music, warm vibe.... but no wi-fi.

Yelp
As a fan of boba and cats, how could I have not taken the opportunity to visit this purrfect place that is the cutest combination of both? Bobacat is located near Portland State University for easy access especially for students in need of boba or visitors to the area. No actual cats around but lots of cute cat pictures, art, and plushies! It has some seating and a restroom accessible for customers. I ordered the Bobacat signature milk tea ($5.50) and popping honey boba (+$1.00) because they were out of boba and in the process of making more. The drink did take an inordinately longer time to make- very catlike to take the time but the resulting drink was worth it! I never had milk tea quite like this and it came with a cream top layer. Having never tried popping honey boba before, it was a nice change to get a different type of boba and I enjoyed the little extra bursts of honey. To be honest, I definitely give it five stars just for the concept and cuteness but the drinks are decent too!

Yelp
This has quickly become my new fave bubble tea spot. I'm obsessed with the strawberry green tea + aloe. It's very refreshing and not too sweet either. I usually go to the NE Broadway location, but both locations are wonderful. The staff is always really kind and work quick. I'm usually on my way somewhere when I stop in, but it seems like a nice place to hang out at for awhile.

Yelp
I love cats. I love boba. I love bobacat. It's cute. It's good. It's even cuter when you see the cat logo. (I'm a crazy cat lady) I ordered a strawberry milk tea and it is delicious. I had to contain myself from chugging it all in on sitting. I will be ordering from them again!

Laura A.

Yelp
When we went there was one person giving her all. I love that. Please support and go. Very delicious milk teas and very cozy and cute inside

Yelp
Cuteness? 5/5 Boba texture/taste? 5/5 Tea + toppings? 4/5 Overall? 4/5 Dropped by Bobacat during an existential crisis that could only be solved via bubble tea. My friend and I were in a total cheese tea kind of mood and knew that brown sugar goodness was on the horizon as well. We both ordered the same thing: the boba cat milk tea brown sugar which already came with the toppings we wanted (the cheese topping + boba). Now to start off, the boba texture and taste was spot on -- chewy, delicious, sweet without being oversweet. Didn't disintegrate like overcooked boba either! Woohoo~ The tea itself was good but not great and the brown sugar wasn't too crazy sweet even at 100% sweetness. Yes, yes I know I'm flirting with diabetes but I needed the sugar to placate me after a bad day. The topping that did not really shine was the cheese topping; didn't really add much to the drink and unfortunately didn't have the distinct flavor that I usually look for. That being said, this place was still quite cute overall -- aesthetically very cute with all the cat pics and good bubble tea too~ I will most likely still return for some goods in the future as should you!

Yelp
Nice dog friendly boba shop with a quaint interior. The passion fruit peach oolong was okay, on par with other boba shops. The stand out was the hojicha latte which has a bold flavor, a great aroma, and goes down smooth. The drink didn't last me more than 2 minutes to finish.
google avatar

Tina V.

Yelp
Cute little boba shop in downtown Portland. Their logo is so cute! They have a wall of pictures of cats, also so cute. And I loved that they play Kpop here. Everyone was really nice and welcoming here. The boba here is pretty good. It had good texture and chew. The brown sugar milk tea wasn't too sweet. Not a bad spot if you're craving boba.

Yelp
Very very cute lil boba place with the cutest cat logo. Gives off quiet Japanese cafe vibes. Drinks are decent but I would definitely come here for the vibe and catch up with friends.

Brian H.

Yelp
30 minutes to get a drink. Asked for a refund told us they were working on it right that moment and proceeded to take an additional 10 minutes. It was okay boba, but still.
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
Came across this cute tiny boba shop that loves cats. They hung polaroid style cat pictures on the walls and table which is probably what drew my attention to walk in. They had a decent amount of boba flavors ranging from the milk tea to the fruit tea and lattes. The also allow you to adjust your sugar level which I do appreciate that more boba shops are offering that option. I ordered the Assam black tea without any sugar or toppings. It was refreshing but I wish the tea was stronger in flavor. It was more on the milder side.
google avatar

Yelp
Great tea fast service but why does it smell like cat piss ?! I'm not understanding because it's such a cute hidden gem but reeks of cat pee...

Yelp
Bobacat is a small cafe located by PSU. The cafe has been on my list for sometime. There are a few tables and a counter inside. There is no outdoor seating. I was lucky to snag a table. As other Yelpers have noted, there are some nice polaroids of cats besides the cute kitty logo. I got a jasmine milk tea with some coconut jelly. I got it 50% sweet since they do not offer 30% or 25% sweet here. It is a little sweeter then my usual order but it was delicious. The jasmine flavor is very present and the coconut jelly meshed well with the milk tea. Next time, I will get less ice since I felt like there was a little too much ice. Overall, Bobacat Tea House is a great boba shop and I recommend it.

Yelp
Waiting for 30 minutes to get to drink? Even not in busy demand. Can't believe it happend
google avatar

Jina M.

Yelp
Got the jasmine milk tea with oat milk. The tea itself was alright. 4/5 But the boba. I've never had such squishy, sticky boba in my life. When I tried to drink the tea, all the boba balls would adhere to each other and clog up my straw. I've never seen something like this before. Will have to post a picture later. The boba also took FOREVER. Not sure if they were making more boba balls or whatnot but it really did take forever!! Looked promising but the product delivered did not meet expectations
