Fried Chicken Purveyor Whistle Britches Opens in Southlake - Eater Dallas

"A new restaurant serving Dole Whips, queso-topped burgers, and loaded hot dogs has opened at The Exchange at AT&T Discovery District. Bobbers Burgers and Whips opened last month in the food court, serving up the frozen pineapple-flavored soft served treat first made famous at Disneyland, alongside a basic menu of burgers and hot dogs made with locally-sourced meats like Beeman Ranch wagyu and Luscher’s Red Hots. As the Dallas Observer points out, “bobbers” here refers to a stripped-down motorcycle (hot dogs on the menu are referred to as “red hot pipes”) — a basic Bobber Burger starts at $5, with the option to “custom build” with toppings like queso, fried egg, and chili. One bite of any burger here will have you bobbin alright! The fries were nice and crispy. However, Not much of a drink selection but there was an area that had fountain drinks to choose from. I like that the menu was short, sweet, and simple. So fellas bring your girls here you won’t have to wait a long time for her to know what to order.

Tried this place opening week. I went on a weekday afternoon when I thought it would be less busy. The customer service was good, I ordered The Triumph burger and it took about 3 tries before I actually got it with no mayo as requested. I thought the burger was a bit too well done but after 3 tries it was what it was. The loaded fries are enough to share or eat as just an entree, I would order the fries again.

Got the Sportster, a basket of fries and a Texas tea(Poteet strawberry white tea). Burger had great flavor, cooked nice and juicy with a little spicy kick. All three hit the spot!

We ordered a Bobber and a Spitfire and shared a cup of fries. The burgers are excellent, clearly using an exceptional grade of meat. The fries are shoestring, and nice and crispy. Note all burgers are 1/4 lb, so you'll want to add a patty or be sure to get fries if you want a larger meal. This place is located in The Exchange which is a food court like place with several other restaurants. The price is steep for the amount of food, but the quality is worth the price.

Food was good but the customer service from the lady in the back was horrible. She was mad because we ordered at 8:15 and they closed at 9. Will never go back. She was even rude with the next customer
