"Another place for a meal in a glass, Bobby Hebert’s Cajun Cannon adds a twist to its bloody by adding Absolut Peppar vodka infused with sun dried tomatoes into the mix. The drink is festooned with, among other things, cocktail onions, pickled green beans and olives. This is a super neighborhood sports bar with a vast menu of good grub - worth a visit." - Beth D'Addono

Friendly wait staff! Very diverse menu that does state food sensitivities, although there are only two gluten free options so that kind of limited things. Got the crab cake plate with greens and mashed potatoes, very good flavor! The crab cakes were tender and it was nice to be able to eat real crab without worrying about imitation crab containing wheat. The portions are great as the plate as it comes was filling but not over filling

As a lifelong Saints fan, I was excited to try out Bobby Hebert's restaurant. The staff was friendly and professional, but as soon as one of my company returned a drink, the attitude of the server turned sour. Then a manager appeared and grilled my company for the reason for the returned drink. I've never seen that happen before. Then the initial server stopped coming over to check on us and forgot to place the order for the dessert, which, may have been a blessing in disguise because the food was lightly seasoned yet unremarkable overall. The mustard greens were decent but not up to the standards of New Orleans. None of us finished our meals. Perhaps it was a one-off because the place is popular. We likely won't be back though.

We searched and searched on this Easter Sunday for somewhere to eat and found this gem. It is away from noise and lack of parking found in the French Quarter. The staff were so welcoming and helpful in suggesting what to get. They were also so accommodating with my shellfish allergy. Our waiter Shawn was so attentive and nice. Everything I ordered was so delicious and filling. This meal was worth every penny. It also heated up just fine the next day. If you have the opportunity, stop here!

Google
Fantastic food! We had the boudin balls, shrimp po-boy and seafood platter. Honestly some of the best Cajun food I’ve had in a long time. Our server Hailey was friendly and attentive. A little on the pricey side, but to me worth it for the quality of food.

Google
Having to wait 7 minutes for our server to greet us was not a good first impression. A very large sign was in the lobby stating that all bottles of wine were half price Monday thru Thursday. The sign was wrong! Half price wine does not include Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. I ordered the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. This is the first time that I had a pasta dish with too much sauce. I would have enjoyed the dish more if it had 1/2 the amount of sauce. My wife had the Caesar Salad with Chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked and very tender. I was not happy with the service.

Google
Asked the manager for a recommendation on a place to get Cajun food, and Bobby Hebert's was first on her list. It's very much a sports bar atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My wife had the crab cake pasta, and I had the Cajun Jambalaya with chicken and alligator sausage. The food was great! The creole sauce was not as spicy as I had hoped, but the flavor was fantastic. Would be more than happy to have another meal and recommend it to anyone. I will add that I have a shellfish allergy and the were very accommodating for that.

We went on a busy Sunday and only had a 15 minute wait. They had ample enough TVs with Sunday football, and our server was amazing and very attentive. This was appreciated during football season, so no one misses a game. The food was good. Drinks were wonderful and service was top-tier…once again our server was amazing, his name was Jared! Also, another server passed by our table and refilled my daughter’s drink…so the staff was on it. The only thing I wish would have been better was the atmosphere temperature. It seemed as if it wasn’t running expeditiously enough to accommodate the number of people and maybe they had another section reserved for another group, because once they slid the door open to reveal the other side of the restaurant, a gulf of air conditioning floated from that side into the main dining area.

Google
This is a fantastic dining experience! The ambiance is football (of course), and the food is amazing. Conveniently located right off I-10, this is the spot for a well rounded menu and a fun vibe. The gumbo ranks up there with the best. The serving sizes will not disappoint either. A genuinely great place that everyone should try at least once.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised how good this sports bar/restaurant was. The atmosphere was really nice, ambient lighting and plenty of TVs. We had the Cajun fries, Bourdain Balls, corn and crab bisque, Mardi gras seafood pasta, and the blackened bayou duck. EVERYTHING was amazing. We thought we ordered way too much and would need to take food home with us but we cleaned our plates. Out server Meghan was probably one of the best things about our visit too. She was very attentive, and personable, nice and easy going and helpful. She made us laugh quite a bit. It was a wonderful night and we'll definitely recommend it and will visit again.

Chyna K.

Yelp
Michelle was our server. She was very attentive and helpful. Despite the restaurant not being busy though, our food took about 40 mins to get to the table and we ordered 2 Cannon Redfish. I've had better overall experwince than this, but all in all Michelle was a great server. If we decide to come back, we'll request her!

Deb M.

Yelp
Ask for Megan. Great wait staff. Very friendly. Made sure everyone was happy more than once. Food was delicious.

Yelp
This is my second time visiting this restaurant in two different trips to New Orleans from Los Angeles. I am very satisfied coming back, again! The service was great. Chris was the server. He did a FANTASTIC job with his suggestions, taking our orders, and bringing out our food in a timely matter. He suggested the blackened fish with shrimp with crawfish AND corn & crab bisque. Best meal and appetizer. I love trying out new items. I will definitely come back if I travel back to NOLA.

Kaneisha C.

Yelp
The food was served piping hot! We had the private event menu which included a starter pf either seafood gumbo or a ceasar salad, and an entree choice of crawfish or chicken fettucine, redfish with a crawfish and mushroom cream sauce, or crab cakes with the same sauce as the redfish. Both of those dishes were served with garlic mashed potatoes and collard greens. The desserts were bread pudding or strawberry cheescake, which I somehow forgot to photograph! The gumbo was really good! I'd definitely get a bowl of it!!! The entrees I tasted were really good! I tried the crawfish fettucine, which was well seasoned and had a lot of crawfish. The redfish was a bit Gulfy but it was okay, I don't think it was signature dish worthy but it was a solid 7/10. The crabcakes with the crawfish sauce were really good!!! I think they were the best I tried but they didn't have nearly as much crawfish sauce as the redfish for some reason. I did find the upcharge for the pasta to be a little steep at $5 to sub in place of the mashed potatoes. The service was exceptional! They didn't care about the noise we made and it smelled really clean throughout the entire restaurant! The bathrooms were also really clean!

Yelp
Our hotel's concierge recommended this place. It was late Friday night, so we decided to grab dinner at Bobby Herbert's since they closed late. We were greeted and seated quickly when we came in. Our server was welcoming and friendly. She recommended their monthly specials and Eras Tour-themed alcohol drink, Midnight Rain. I ordered BBQ Shrimp and Redfish Pasta and the Midnight Rain drink. The pasta and BBQ shrimp had a great flavor. However, the redfish needed a bit more seasoning; it was a bit bland. After adding salt and pepper, the fish tasted better. The Midnight Rain drink was good but so sweet that I could not finish it. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Bobby Herbert's. The food and service were great; the prices were reasonable.

Ken M.

Yelp
Good atmosphere all around. Really good service once we were seated. (Had to wait a bit to be seated) Great happy hour prices on wine.

Reed T.

Yelp
The food and drinks @ Bobby Hebert's are always spot on. Fresh, cooked to our specs and seasoned perfectly. Couldn't ask for more. But it is the service we receive that keeps us coming back!!! Liz was our server at the bar tonight. Very cheerful, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Jess and Liz are definitely assets to this organization. They are two of the best Bartenders/Servers we have had, EVER,ANYWHERE! Very cool place. Oh,Did I mention the food is Delicious?!

Glenda B.

Yelp
We were referred to this restaurant as having good cajun food. When we arrived, the place was virtually empty. We were greeted nicely and seated. The server was okay, but it seemed like we were annoying her asking questions. We ordered crabcakes, spinach dip, and some pasta that had crawfish and shrimp along with a piece of Catfish. I don't remember my friends order. The crab cakes were pretty much a lot of breading. We could this right away by the size of them. They are pretty big with very little crab. We barely ate them after tasting them. The pasta was ok, but honestly, it lacked some seasoning. The food in the New Orleans area is usually full of flavor. The spinach dip was cold, not melted snd made with some cheese that is not usually in spinach dip. I had a Yelp coupon for some bread pudding. The server said I will ask the manager. The manager never came to look at the coupon, and I never got the bread pudding. That was fine because at this point I didn't want anything else from here.

Amber W.

Yelp
Great place for a casual dinner. I recently came for a work Christmas party. We had the room in the back with a buffet that consisted of Caesar salad, crab balls, wings, gumbo, roast, mashed potatoes, veggies, and bread pudding. Everything was great and the servers were very attentive.

Von W.

Yelp
The ambience doesn't live up to the exterior. It's quite dull. Service was fine. We sat around 10:30 pm, so our server was tired, and she said they were understaffed. Coconut-Pineapple mocktail -- 9/10; refreshing and tasty! Buffalo wings -- 9/10; crispy and flavorful. Who Dat! crab cakes -- 8/10; mostly breading, but tasty overall. The crawfish sauce was seasoned and good. It's two cakes for $16, so manage your expectations. Chocolate mousse-- 7/10; it was sweet and creamy, but the whipped cream tasted off. It was like the whipped cream on store-bought cakes. My wife enjoyed it, though. Shrimp platter-- 6/10; I didn't like anything on the plate (shrimp, fries, onion rings). It smelled burnt. Nothing like the typical fried shrimp served in mostly all N.O. restaurants. I had fried shrimp from Landry's a week earlier and they were delicious.

Yelp
The hostess was very kind and tried to provide a solution. When presented a solution, the manager said she didn't care that a review was being written. The photo below shows Bobby seats were available and we were forced to wait 15 minutes. The wait staff was not in a rush to support us and made us wait while others were seated before us. I understand it is a holiday but service first. Jarred our server was great. He was very attentive and shared the specials. He was very hospitable and totally different from the manager who didn't care(pictured below). Shout out to Ellery(member of management) who was at Bobby Herbert's for a meeting and assisted to make certain customers were served due to staffing. He interacted with patrons as if he was being paid to be there. Very hospitable and attentive to all guest. You're one of the reasons I keep returning.

Tammie W.

Yelp
Slow service without a full restaurant. The cocktail was my highlight! Redfish not good. Definitely will not return as the experience has changed over the years.

Marquise C.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant. The vibes are always chills and laid back. The waiter was helpful and very nice. My favorite drink in the cannon ball. If you finish the large you will need a designated driver. The wings and gumbo was so good i bit my own fingers. The pasta tasted great but it need more seafood. This place is a must to vist

Leslie H.

Yelp
I am just sorry this was a very uneventful dinner. We felt like everything was frozen and just heated up. The okra was good but expensive. The wings were not worth the money. The ravioli was not good. The corn and crab bisque was good. We will not return.

Jasmine J.

Yelp
I decided to dine here for their happy hour. I didn't want anything too heavy so I ordered the spinach dip. I really enjoyed it. It came out nice and hot and pretty fast as well. I had a couple of drinks which were The Santa's Helper( seasonal holiday drink) and a Peach Margarita. Both drinks were good but the Peach Margarita was my favorite!

Samantha F.

Yelp
Craving some pasta and decided to give Bobby Herbert's a try. This is for a pickup order so I can't speak on the service. I ordered the Mardi Gras Pasta with a Crab Cake added. The portion size was decent but it was lacking flavor. The sauce was very oily and broken - not at all what I expected. I had to add salt and seasoning at home. It seemed to have a decent amount of crawfish and shrimp in it though. The crab cake was a $5 upcharge - it tasted mostly of breading - again not well seasoned. At $27 for this entree.... I was pretty disappointed. Next up, the $10 red beans and rice. They are decent. We did have to season them ourselves. After adding the seasoning they were pretty good. The $9 redfish side - this was pretty bland. It came broken up in a small container. The presentation just wasn't very good. Lastly, the chicken alfredo. Like everything else it needed seasoning. It tasted like butter noodles. For $19 we expected much more. If the meal was about $45 it would be worth it - but this was $71. There is MUCH better food for the price.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Bobby Hebert was one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time! He could take a rag-tag bunch of less than mediocre players and give them the potential to win any game at any time! Loved Bobby Hebert! Servers here were probably not trained or coached by Bobby but they did deliver food to my table once ordered. Sooooo disappointed there was no Bobby H. merchandise available for sale Because I would have bought it! Got the fried shrimp. It was plentiful.

Kelly O.

Yelp
Gina was one of the best servers I have ever had. Will definitely be coming back because of her.

Dee C.

Yelp
My fried shrimp were cooked too long, rubbery. Sweet potato fried were cooked too long, almost byrnt. We paid in cash, and tge server did not bring the correct change back. Will not return.

David N.

Yelp
We had just driven in from Houston and were starving. We started off with the who dat crab cakes, this was the best part of our meal! So good the sauce on top is divine. I had the fried shrimp basket with an add on of crawfish tails it was ok, the dipping sauces were pre packaged and just meh. My wife had a bowl of the gumbo and that was just okay as well. The menu is huge and wish I would have gotten one of the pastas.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Food and service were great. Easy location to find as we are from out of town. We will be back when we are back in town

Tatianna H.

Yelp
Gina was a great waitress , our food came out very fast and she was very nice ! 10/10 customer service

Yelp
I've dined at BH a handful of times within the past year and found the food to be average to below average and somewhat overpriced. The flavors are rather impressive for a restaurant but tastes as if it is reheated. Of the items I've ordered I'd recommend the following entrees: redfish, jambalaya pasta and the gluten free crab cakes. Yes, the GF version of the crab cakes because they're not battered. The most memorable aspect of my dining experiences has been the temperature and number of tvs. It is meat locker cold and there appears to be, one tv for every two tables. If you're not a fan of dining in a sports bar like environment, avoid BH's during any playoff game or football season. Service could be better. Of the times I've dined, I remember one average experience, The server's name was Billy. The others were lacking. Items missed and never acknowledged, refills are non existent and managers do not walk around to ask if everything is okay. If an adult beverage like a glass of wine arrives after your meal despite being ordered when it was delivered, there wasn't accountability or acknowledgment. The most alarming experience Involved a 20+ minute disappearing act with my credit card, as the last party dining. I found it rather alarming that Taylor didn't return to let us know why it was taking as long as it was. So I went to inquire. There was no explanation or apology for the amount of time it took and suspect the server was too young to understand why this day and age, a cardholder would be rattled. I asked to hold on to my card until they were ready to process it. It took at least 10 minutes more. Still clueless as to the reason the charge had to be run by a manager. It's a solid find if in Metairie and looking for a decent bite to eat after 9p, but I highly suggest lowering your expectations. If you're a part of five or more, also expect 18% gratuity to be added.

Tricia W.

Yelp
Our waiter was excellent. The food was delicious. We started with the seafood gumbo. Excellent choice talk about the red beans and rice. I always thought Popeyes had the best red beans and rice but oh my God this is 1 million times better everything was just delicious.

Brien D.

Yelp
nice, clean place. food delicious with generous portions, but not crazy. Bryan, our server, provided quick, friendly service.

Dee L.

Yelp
Brought my family there the server was very nice. However 2 of our dishes had hair in it we asked to speak to the manger Christina came and we showed her. It's like she didn't believe it. The dishes were remade. However the manager never came back to our table to see if everyone was ok. I have been to many restaurants this was one of the worst managers.

Keli V.

Yelp
Haven't even tried yet but review is based on conversation I just had with the manager over the phone. They put a card in there to text a number if there are s a issue with order, good thing I looked in bag just to see what the slice looked like and it was a sliver of pecan pie. Not worth $8 bucks to me so I text the number and a manager called me back. Long story short, he offered me everything but another bigger slice of pie lol, make it make sense. After I try I'll post another review. So I tried it and it was disgusting and so was the corn & crawfish soup. Never again!

Jeff D.

Yelp
There was a slight wait on the food, but the taste of the food made uo for it. Savannah, our server, was very courteous and sweet, and kept us up to date while we waited. My only complaint would be that the music was a little too loud.

Patsy L.

Yelp
Friendly good service food wasnt impressive i thought the dishes would be more creative. Long wait for order

James S.

Yelp
It had been year's since me and the wife has frequented this establishment. It was good back then and is still good to this day. We started with some drinks, cup of chicken & sausage gumbo, seafood gumbo and cousin balls. Started off right. Gumbos we're cooked perfectly as you know with gumbos, it's all about the roux. Main dishes were the redfish topped with crawfish mushroom sauce. I had the blackened and the wife had the sauteed. My side was a cup if redbeans and rice. Can't beat New Orleans-style red beans. My wife's sides were mashed potatoes and mustard greens. These dishes were off the hook. Cooked perfectly and full if flavor. For desert my wife had the strawberry cheesecake. Homemade as it was fluffy and great. My bread pudding was great with the rum sauce but the best part was that it was free because I checked in on yelp. Our server made the experience even better. Be was always checking on you to make sure everything was good. A must stop if your in the area.

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Went here months ago and forgot to tell Yall how good it was... service was great! Savannah was attentive and friendly... made good recommendations. The gumbo was great! Great flavor and large portion ! Mardi Gras pasta was definitely tasty but the gumbo filled me up so i didn't finish it. This place has great deals throughout the week and some authentic New Orleans flavors! It's not near bourbon street but worth the drive! Next time im in the area ill definitely be back

Dee B.

Yelp
My first at this restaurant & the food was very delicious. Me & my guy had the redfish over mashed potatoes with shrimp (mines) & his with crawfish with a side of collard greens. I highly recommend the greens. I'm a big fan of greens & these were seasoned to perfection. I also had the Oreo crumble cheesecake which was omg great. I recommend this restaurant & give it a 10/10.

Eric J.

Yelp
Anyone looking for a decently priced #nola food and not staying downtown? This place is worth every dollar ( not overpriced either!) Where else can you get a bowl of seafood gumbo and an entire side of crawfish tails or just 16 bucks?

Zuri S.

Yelp
Did someone new take over because everything is different and not in a good way the Mardi Gras pasta was my absolute favorite and I had it on my mind and decided to go have dinner and when i say the disappointment I felt the pasta is not good they even changed the noodle and the flavor is so bland now won't be returning

Richard Walton C.

Yelp
I arrived just before 7pm and pulled into a packed parking lot but I found a space in the front. I don't know if there is parking in the rear. The hostess opened the door for me and asked how many. She asked if the bar was okay and I said yes. Otherwise it was a one hour wait. I ordered a Cup of Seafood Gumbo and the Bobby & Deke's Mardi Gras Pasta which is shrimp, crawfish tails, bell peppers, garlic & onions in a creamy Alfredo sauce. The cup of gumbo was outstanding; some of the very best gumbo I've ever had primarily because every bite was thick with roux and seafood. I loved it so much I wish I just ordered a whole bowl instead of a cup and made that my meal. The pasta was flavorful and good with tons of shrimp and crawfish throughout the whole dish. It's a large portion and it was challenging to make a dent in it after the gumbo so I took the rest with me for later. The French bread offered with it was very fresh. Service was okay as they appealed to be stretched thin but she kept up the pace considering the brisk business. A lot of people come in just to pick up take away. I enjoyed watching LSU defeat Tennessee in a College World Series baseball elimination game.

Jon A.

Yelp
Great experience with Bobby Hebert's Cajun Cannon! Steve provided amazing service and the food was perfect! Great intro to eating in Metairie!

Saundra J.

Yelp
Wow this restaurant has changed. From the service to the food it was very disappointing. I should have known there was a problem when we walked in as it was empty at 6pm. I visit this location every time I visit New Orleans as I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere the drinks and the food-Welcome to New Orleans!! My waitress seemed as if she didn't want to here and her service showed it. I ordered the seafood platter as usual which was served room temperature which I had to send back because fried seafood served cold is not appetizing. The platter went from overflowing with seafood to shrimp, stuffed crab cake, fish strips and fries, no oysters so disappointing. my sister ordered the special Flounder with crab cake stuffing and a side of greens-she loved the greens and I tasted the fish which to me was undercooked. My husband must of seen known something because he ordered wings. We were in this restaurant for an hour and half waiting for food, 20 minutes wait for a slice of carrot cake . Spoke with the manager but he could careless about the dissatisfaction of the customers. Never again Bobby Herbert Cajun in Metairie LA

James S.

Yelp
Our 2nd time here in 4 days and there's a reason for it. The food is great and service is just as good if not better. Gina was our server and she's 1 week on the job and she did absolutely amazing!!! I would come back just to sit in her section.

Les A.

Yelp
Outdoor seating was not available when we went. No idea why not. Cannot recommend. Extra characters extra characters extra characters

Adiaha M.

Yelp
I like to go to Bobby Hebert for a quick bite, especially they're open a bit later than other local restaurants. You can catch whatever sports game is playing on one of the many TVs in the restaurant. The drinks are really good and the draw for me. I like the fishbowl drinks (Cajun Cannon and Bumbu Splash). They're large and can be shared but definitely a good deal. The service is hit or miss for me but the server I had on my last visit, Bryana, was very attentive. Can't go wrong with any of the fried seafood dishes. I go regularly and plan to continue to do so.

Adrian S.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Our waitress Chavell was the sweetest, very attentive and recommended amazing food

John D.

Yelp
I need to start by saying our server, who is in training did a fantastic job. That's where it ends. We were met at the door by the hostess who was put out showing us to a table. It took 10 minutes for the supervisor to bring our trainee server over. It was 8:15pm. The place wasn't busy at all. Another 10 for the bartender to leave the table she was talking to and pour a glass of wine. Food, mediocre at best. It's a chain so the decor reflects it. It was late or we would have found a local place. My suggestion to the server in training; you're better then this place. Go somewhere else before this culture ruins you

Paul L.

Yelp
Bad experience. The food is not good. Worst boudin balls I've ever had. Shrimp was bland. Server came to take order but we had to keep calling her back over every time we needed something, she didn't check on us. We had three people and they didn't bring out one of our meals, they completely didn't make it. The tea was horrible.

Elsa S.

Yelp
Food was Excellent Service was Outstanding A must if you're in the area Ambiance was wonderful Can't forget Hurricane drink Please please ask for "Allen" theeeeee Best human & server we had the pleasure meeting #Lagniappe (hoddieJube @ YouTube)

Jessica B.

Yelp
So it been a while since I've been to LA, it's not the traditional food I'm use too. But the servers were awesome, food seemed more touristy friendly flavor. Again not bad just not what was expected.

Merritt E.

Yelp
Visit 9/17/23 @1230 Seated promptly Excellent service Waitress knew everything on the specials Very informative Excellent food Big portions Well presented Best Seafood fries Legit shrimp poor boys here First visit definitely going back

Jacquie M.

Yelp
We were immediately greeted by the hostess as she was holding the front door open for us. She gave us choices where we would like to sit. The waitress came and welcomed us quickly. She described the specials and the highlights of the menu. The restaurant is festive and has lots of TV's everywhere. Even in the ladies bathroom! The Cajun Cannon Red fish was amazing. Huge portion servings on the sides (mixed vegetables-which included sweet potato, yellow carrots onion and great seasoning & garlic mashed potato) We ate all we could and left with two full Togo boxes. We ordered a dessert to go because we were so full we couldn't fit dessert. Great experience and great food!

Chuck D.

Yelp
Just on our way through and found this place. WOW. Was a little bit of a wait but so worth it. Great sports at type of atmosphere. Service was great but let me tell you about the food. My kids ordered the cheese ravioli with blackened chicken and everyone at the table tried a bite, amazing. Deep fried ravioli that tasted like a jalapeno popper with Cajun sauce. The gumbo was nice and we shared the Boudin balls. Wife had a salad and it was a bit weak but who comes to a place like this and eats salad. All and all I wish we had a place like this back home would love to try the happy hour.
