A Woodland Hills Greasy Spoon Classic, Bobby's Coffee Shop has been serving up traditional comfort food for the San Fernando Valley since 1949. The no frills, no fuss diner offers plenty of great classic options, hearty portions and decent prices. On this particular visit, I opted for the $14.99 Vegetarian Omelet (made with 3 Freshly Cracked Cage Free Eggs, Onion, Bell Pepper and Mushroom), served up with Hash Browns and Sourdough Toast. I sat at the chef's table aka the front row single seating adjacent to the grill. The endless pours of strong, hot coffee started at $3.95. I had three cups to keep the caffeine roaring throughout the meal. The service was speedy, unassuming, friendly. The portions were enormous. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, with two full slices of thick sourdough bread. In addition to the front diner swing seats, there is plenty of tables and booths throughout, along with additional outdoor patio seating. Ample parking behind the restaurant, or metered options on Ventura. If you want some basic, good ol' fashioned diner food, with some artwork, knick- knacks, and time warped memories, Bobby's provides Diner 101 satisfaction and a full, feel-good belly.
