Singapore Bubble Tea Chain Bober Tea & Coffee Opens in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"A growing bubble tea brand founded in 2018 in Singapore, I checked out the new Mission Gorge Road outpost in the Grantville neighborhood—one of about 20 outlets worldwide and just the second in Southern California. The café is eminently Instagrammable, decorated with lavish pink flowers and disco balls, and is best known for its daily-made brown sugar boba that’s stir-fried at the counter and added warm to drinks. The Signature Milk Tea features brown sugar syrup and housemade cheese cream with a brulee’d brown sugar topping; other popular beverages include the Pink Haze (a hazelnut-flavored Vietnamese iced coffee with pink salted cream), jasmine tea infused with fresh strawberries, and a mung bean pandan latte sprinkled with edible rose petals. Customers can order ahead online or use a self-ordering kiosk to customize sweetness and choose add-ins like coconut or lychee jelly, crushed Oreos, and passionfruit popping boba, and there are paid upgrades such as a bear-shaped clear container called a “Bear Brick” and a mystery cup that hides a Sanrio plushie in its base. Local franchisees told Eater they plan to add Korean egg drop sandwiches and other breakfast items and may open more Bober cafes in the future." - Candice Woo

This place truly stands out with its unique approach to drinks. The menu offers a wide selection of signature beverages that are not only delicious but also beautifully presented with attention to detail. The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, making it perfect for evening hangouts or special occasions. The staff is professional and friendly. Prices are slightly above average. Overall, it’s a great spot for those who appreciate quality drinks and a pleasant vibe. I definitely recommend visiting at least once.

This is my new milk tea joint since it's so close to home! Our girls loved the surprise cup. The Thai tea was delicious and so was the 24k matcha Vietnamese coffee. The shop is so cute and vibrant, a great place to take photos with your friends! The ease of placing an order was nice too!

Google
Super cute spot! The drinks were good and you have the option of selecting how sweet you would like them. They had a variety of mochinuts to choose from. We loved it! Cute spot for pictures as well!

The milk teas were very good. I got the signature which was pretty tasty but very sweet. My Fiancé got a regular milk teas and it was good. The boba was pretty darn good. We ordered some donuts as they were decorated and presented so nicely. We got Ube, Strawberry and a Creme brulee. The creme brulee was both of our favorite. I was excited to try the Ube one but to me it just lacked flavor. The shop is decorated nicely. Very cute little designs up on the walls. Their little pink chairs can really benefit from a steam cleaning but overall it was a good experience. If you're looking for a sweet treat in the area, I would recommend.

My friends and I came on a Sunday after 2pm and it was a little busy. They don't take orders at the front counter, you have to order at a kiosk and that's where the long line of waiting comes in. They only have 2 available and people take their time in choosing what they want. However, after you place your order there isn't that much wait, my friends and I probably waited around 10 minutes before our order was ready. I would recommend to check out the menu online, to have an idea of what you want and make your check out process quicker. I came here to get the Surprise Cup signature milk tea and I got what I expected, a super cute stuffy key chain! My total was $19.18 with the Surprise Cup milk tea/with 1 topping and a mochi donut. The donut was good at least the fruity pebbles flavor was and the milk tea was good too. Not extraordinary flavors, we all know what fruity pebbles and milk tea taste like but you come here because it's trendy, cute and for a little sweet treat. I will probably return with some more of my friends.

Parking was not a problem. However, the wait was longer than expected for just 3 boba drinks. It took about 20 minutes. I think they're still figuring out how to run it more smoothly. The Thai Tea Creme brulee and Supreme Pineapple green tea are pretty good. The kids love the $5 add-on surprised cup with toy.

Google
Cute new boba and mochi donut cafe in Mission gorge. Nice to finally have a place like this and not have to go to convoy. Our favorites are the surprise box, mochi donut flavors churro, chocolate, strawberry, creme brulee. Hot drink strawberry matcha latte. We've only been here twice but can't wait to go back to try the rest!

Great milk tea and Vietnamese coffee. We loved it. Need to try the donuts when I can eat sugar again!! ;)

Yelp
The interior is so cute and clean! The place is cash-free and there are two ordering kiosks as well. Service was quick. There was seating inside and three small tables outside. The drinks were good and well crafted. Though I personally like places with stronger tea and sweeter boba pearls more. These drinks were more sweet and milky.

Yelp
I came here in person while our car was being serviced. The walk over was pretty short! I liked that Bober Tea & Coffee had both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a small place, but still can hold a decent amount of people. They have AC and the interior for the most part is clean. (The background garden wall has some people's hair tangled up in it and there's a few dusty areas). It's quite bright, modern, and pink inside. There's an ordering kiosk or you can order up front. I think the prices are on the expensive side compared to other boba spots. And they up charge for light ice which I find pretty wild. I went with $7.10, Taro Milk Tea (they call Taro Latte), with Brown Sugar Boba, 75% Sweet. It was still pretty sweet, I believe because they use powder it seemed? I'd get 50% sweet next time or a different drink. The boba was a bit chewy and soft. To be honest, the drinks available -- while they had a great selection, nothing really appealed or stood out to me. This seemed more like a sweet / cheese foam boba spot that doesn't focus too much on the tea. But I am trying to be out of my comfort zone when I order so next time I'll try one of their blended drinks! I just know, last time the Vietnamese coffee wasn't the best. Anyways, the workers are really nice. They have large selection so you might find something you enjoy.

Yelp
Super cute place & surprise-cup concept! Not sure if they always offer those? Also, they are partnered with Mochi Donut! Yum! Anyhow - We went during the Hello Kitty collection. My daughter really wanted Cinnamon Roll but the cashier said you could not request, as the plushy you get was a surprise. (Not even on the low low so my daughter didn't overhear) I was kinda bummed about that but understood rules. Anyway once we got the drink I could tell that the barista could have very easily saw which character we were going to get, but oh well I guess they just refuse to do it . We ended up with "my melody" plushy which was fine. My daughter was understanding and still happy. But I noticed it definitely caused a lot of sad children around us, eek! haha! It was unique and fun! Service was just okay though, no accommodations or friendly service. Some places are too busy and forget this important part of business!!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday evening, busy with a steady stream of customers, but not a terribly long wait. You can order at one of the two kiosks, or at the counter. So of course we ordered the surprise cups. Honestly, +$4ish for a surprise plushie is reasonable, and the Sanrio characters are super cute... but.. the boba drinks weren't very good. We got a few flavors... taro, hazelnut mk, cookies and cream, and one other drink I forgot what lol. Hard to pinpoint, they just didn't taste too good and even though we're in the $5 price range (not including the surprise cup extra) I wouldn't order it again. We ordered a mochi donut, and that was good. Warning- with the surprise cups, the drink is made in a smaller paper cup and inserted into the surprise cup. We had our drinks for about 2 hrs... when we got home, both cups were soggy and the (almost) full drink spilled out everywhere. The employee at the counter was nice enough. The decor is super cute.. but it was very dirty and messy. The floor was full of smudges and shoe prints. The cables and chairs all needed a good clean up and wipe down. The trash was overflowing... nobody really stayed too long inside, I bet bc of the mess. The novelty of it all, with the surprise plushie and even the cute bear bottle you can choose is a fun experience, but I don't know if it's worth it considering everything else.

Yelp
This was my first time trying this place and I ordered a chizu milk tea with a mystery cup and some mochi donuts. The place has a cute aesthetic and appealing packaging! Service was great and staff was very friendly upon arrival! This place caught my eye from the cute sanrio plushes! It was an extra $4 for the plush cup. The drink itself was alright. Maybe I'll try a different flavor next time. The donuts were delicious and chewy! We ordered the creme brulee, taro, and matcha flavor. My favorite was the creme brulee. I'll definitely have to come back to try the other flavors.

Yelp
My friends and I came here because they love Boba & we were celebrating our friend's birthday. I passed the business twice because I didn't see the small sign & am not familiar with the area. Parking is in the back of a small parking lot. The business is pretty small. There is a small amount of seating inside/outside, chairs were comfortable. There is also bar seating. You can order from one of two kiosks-was a little confusing - I accidentally ordered two drinks when I thought I was only adding on to receive the hello kitty plushie. My friends enjoyed their drinks. I ordered a cold jasmine green tea, it was just ok. We plan on bringing our littles back so hoping to try one of their dairy free options next time. We loved the backgrounds for pictures and loved our plushies!!

Yelp
This place makes great Milk Teas. I had the Signature Milk Tea in the Surprise Cup with rich brown sugar syrup and premium black tea. The milk tea was delicious! It was creamy and not only offered a great black tea flavor, but the brown sugar flavor was terrific. They put just the right amount of ice in the beverage to keep it chilled but not to overwhelm and water down the drink. I liked it! Oh yes, imagine my surprise when the lady told me their was a little plushy surprise in the bottom of the cup. I would of thrown it away, if the lady at the counter did not advise me. It was a little Hello Kitty wearing a unicorn pajamas. It was totally cute and will be going to one of my students as a prize. The service was very friendly. You order at Kiosk and pick up your order from the counter when they call your name. They offer inside and outside seating.

Yelp
The ambiance is super cute! I love all of the pink and how girly the aesthetic's are. They definitely paid attention to detail on all the decor. Lots of photo ops. It's an influencer's dream. My girls and I all bought the cups with the plushies. About $12 and some change for each cup. The teas were really good. We ordered winter melon with boba. I love how the boba is front and center, it's eyegatching and a good gimmick. (I don't even like boba but it looked so good, I had to have it) The signature tea was almost $8 and was really appealing to the eye and flavorful. The mochi donuts are almost $5 each on their own, it's better to get the 3 pack for about $11. They were soft and chewy, flavorful and delightful. They had a few flavors to choose from. And they pumped them out fresh while we were in line. The cups are adorable and the experience is fun to do, especially with friends. My only thing is, I tried to exchange my plushie because I got the same one from before and they wouldn't let me. The Irvine location is so accommodating, they want you to leave happy so they don't mind if you wanna change yours. Overall experience, very cool! Make sure you make a date out of it with friends or family. It's small on the inside but there are a few tables and high chairs and more seating outside. Enjoy!

Yelp
This Singagporean bubble tea chain has opened its first store in the SD area. The choice of location in the Grantville neighborhood was peculiar to me because it seemed random and out of place. I can't imagine much foot traffic passes by this block. That being said, the inside of the suite was beautifully decorated with lots of pink color, flowers, and disco balls. The business was operating in conjunction with a mochi donut vendor which has its own separate Yelp listing. Like a few other reviewers, I approached the service counter to ask a question about the drinks. I didn't receive a response from the worker, only a gesture to use the self-service kiosk of which there were two of them. Scrolling through the options, I noticed a surcharge which I detest from any boba tea spot... $0.90 extra for light ice. Sorry, but that's an automatic one star deduction from my rating. If you want to play that game, then why not offer a $0.90 discount for more ice? It's a slippery slope as the vast majority of these businesses don't nickel and dime for the amount of ice in a drink. A unique feature was the display of freshly made brown sugar boba being stir fried in a wok to soften the pearls. I thought the product would be very good, but the quality wasn't superior because of this cooking technique. My order was two drinks, a Supreme Pink Pear Green Tea and a Honey Jasmine Green Tea with brown sugar boba. The first was described as pink pear puree in a freshly brewed premium grade jasmine green tea. The second was simply freshly brewed premium grade jasmine green tea sweetened with pure honey. I did like the fresh fruit puree which added natural sweetness. If you are into collectibles, then you could purchase a $4.50 surprise cup that holds a Sanrio plushie inside a hollow compartment at the base. The cost could be well over $10 if you buy a drink with toppings and the surprise cup. I will likely return to try a mochi donut or two, but for my first visit to Bober Tea & Coffee, it was a three star level experience.

Yelp
Boba + Teddybear = Bober!! Bear ears on cup covers :) Bober Tea & Coffee shop opened recently at an area called Grantville, which I was not too familiar with so it was a bit of a mini road trip to get there. Free parking at the back lot but the spaces were tight. It's been years since my trip to Singapore. Was thrilled the Singaporean based shop opened and wanted to try Bober. The shop is new, clean and decor was cutesy but the common trend seen everywhere: with faux flower walls, neon signs and modernish seating throughout. Indoor & outdoor seats. Kid and pup friendly. And it is only CASHLESS No cash accepted, all orders and payments are via kiosk tablet, easy and efficient, but there are only 2 tablets and some peeps are indecisive slow and the line of peeps get impatient, self included :/ Was only interested in trying the Okumidori matcha latte and the black sesame Mochi donut and that's what I got. Okumidori matcha was made with premium ceremonial grade matcha, I added brown sugar boba pearls and 75% sweetness. Would have preferred Non Dairy: coconut almond soy or oatmilk options. Presented quickly and topped with the teddybear ears cup cover and a pink straw was picture perfect. After a few sips, the matcha latte drink fell short of my expectations, as there was barely any taste, the drink was not as chilled cold as I preferred, the brown sugar boba pearls were good but not good enough to merit a repeat order. I would be interested in trying the fruit based iced teas, hope those are better. Black sesame Mochi donut seemed like the healthier option to chose from the display case of colorful donuts. The blackish glaze wasn't overly sugary sweet but the dough was not the best, it seemed to almost fall apart while I held it with my fingers and it was messy... :( The behind the counter staff Sarah was helpful, nice and answered my questions particularly about the mochis, she suggested the black sesame. Went there around 1:30ish and it was crowded with kids? Not sure about possible nearby schools but I hate crowds, waiting in lines... especially for a subpar drink and treat. This new shop draws in kids who were more interested in the promo surprise cup gift that comes with some drink orders. A mini stuffed animal inside the surprise cup is synonymous to the toy inside a crackerjack box, or a toy in a happy meal! I wasn't interested in a surprise toy gimmick, I was interested in a premium japanese ceremonial matcha drink but this was lackluster...frowning, not smiling teddy bear Do Better Bober! The Okumidori matcha drink and Mochi donut both earns 2 stars, but for the new clean, efficient and nice staff a generous 3 stars.

Yelp
I saw a video online about this shop and wanted to see for myself if they drinks were as good as people said. When you first walk in, you'll see that the interior decor is all very bright and cutesy. There are pink flowers on the walls and some neon signs. They have self service kiosks and cashiers taking orders. I believe the option to add a surprise plushie to your order was only $3-4 extra, which was a pleasant surprise. I expected it to be more like $8-10 extra. It's nice to find a shop that isn't jacking up their prices. Overall- my friend and I enjoyed our drinks and our experience here! In my past experiences, when a dessert/drink place is really cute/ Instagram-worthy, the drinks are not always so good. That was not the case here- I thought it was great all around :)

Yelp
Food: 3 Service: 3.5 Ambiance: 4 What a neat place! My friend wanted to check this out because of all the social media posts. We went on a Friday morning right when it opened so it was really nice and quiet! The ambiance is super cute and pink! There are a spots to sit inside and out, though the place is not super big. I ordered the pink haze vietnamese coffee and my friend ordered the Wintermelon tea. Both were not customizable, sugar wise (which for me, is a plus). My coffee was decent/ good but my friend said her drink was pretty sweet. She ordered the surprise cup with the plushie and it was really fun to open! She also ordered a few donuts to go. They looked nice and she said they were good.

Yelp
I came here twice in a span of two weeks and got the same drink. The first time was the surprised cup mung bean pandan latte with stir fried boba which was a mistake combo. First of all, I already am not a boba person and second, this combo just does not go. The boba took away from the drink flavor. They gave a generous scoop of boba but stir fried version has that liquid gooey-ness that you visually see in the gold pan. That taste mixed with my drink was not good. I rather get crystal boba or regular boba where there isn't that gooey-ness. We also got The Haze which is Vietnamese coffee with toffee bits. This tastes like toffee creamer. Should have went with the OG coffee. We upgraded both to receive a surprised plushie. We got a key chain and a plushie. Everything cost $40. If you wanted light ice it's extra $0.90. I would recommend opening the slot carefully so that your cup could still stand. Or rip the entire outer cup in order to put the drink in the cup holder. The second time I came, I just got mung bean pandan latte by it self and it was so good! I love that their flavors remind me of OC. We got a box of 3 mochi donuts from MochiDoigh. I prefer their donuts because it has more dough and less mochi compared to other places. I was lazy to reheat the next day and ate it straight from the fridge. Still tasted good!

Yelp
I can't speak for the mochi donuts as we did not opt to add them to our boba order. We came here after seeing an instagram reel of SURPRISE PLUSHIES with your boba drink. As a new mother, boba fanatic, and a love of all things cute, I had to check this place out (totally for the baby ). You purchase at the kiosk and pick up your order at the mochi donut counter. Drinks came out relatively fast. While I loved the interior design, the aesthetic, and the concept of cute cups (bear cup!!) and the mystery plush, I was quite let down by the drinks themselves. We were not able to adjust sweetness for the mungbean pandan drink and after 2 sips I could not finish the rest. This was far too sweet. The jasmine milk tea we ordered was just fine. Overall I enjoyed the concept but if you're truly looking for a boba drink fix this place is personally too sweet for me. We spent 20$ on the 2 drinks as the surprise plush and the bear cup option had both drinks up to 10$ per drink. See in the photos added how much drink you're actually getting after you remove the plush.

Yelp
Bober is new to Grantville so we treated my sister to it while she was in town. It's a cute shop with a few tables inside, limited parking spots out back, and orders taken at the kiosk. I like self service kiosks, but didn't like that the sweetness and ice wasn't customizable as in other shops, that's there's only one size (large), and that when I had questions, they couldn't be answered at the counter and I was pointed to the kiosk. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious albeit overly sweet. The churro mochi donut was quit tasty as well, though I could taste the oil it was fried in which I'm sure is difficult when using rice flour since it's so absorbent. Allow customizable levels of sweetness and ice, offer different sizes so people aren't forced to pay $8 per drink on something they won't finish, and offer counter orders as well.

Yelp
Cute place but awkward space (no great place to stand after you order to wait) and ordering system. Parent PSA: There are only two drinks that are caffeine free and it is not denoted in any way on the menu nor is it obvious. I was told that only the taro latte and winter melon milk tea are caffeine free. I was told that they couldn't modify other drinks to make them caffeine free for my kid. Another time I came they did accommodate me but they had me order at the kiosk then come tell them to sub to make it caffeine free which was a bit stressful and it was clear they weren't set up to accommodate this. Given that there are the cute stuffy toy surprise cups and this place clearly appeals to kids and there are always a number of parties with kids there, I would think they'd want to make it more kid friendly.

Yelp
Came for the soft opening. Right when entering there's a small area to lounge & sit. As for ordering you must line up at the kiosk if you didn't order online. Once order is placed and ready, name will be called out... if you ordered mochi donut(s) that will also be the time you can select which flavor you want. Came here for the mystery cup. Since I've seen it online and been wanting to get one ever since but didn't ever feel like making a trip to LA. So glad they've opened one here in San Diego. Also, like many (boba) cafes nowadays... they're becoming cashless. I actually took a look at the menu ahead so I knew I wanted to try the Okumidori Matcha Latte. Even if I knew I could've ordered it online, I just wanted to see what it's like ordering right then and there. Thankfully it's just a soft opening so there was just a few people ahead. For my drink I did add the konjac jelly and stir fried boba. It was a struggle drinking the jelly part. Had to break it a bit with the straw other than that my matcha drink was pretty good. My favorite part was opening the bottom to see what mystery Sanrio character I got. Def. Will come back with friends for more of the mystery cups. They're just fun to collect.

Yelp
High ceilings and pink decor all around was a good choice to attract pink lovers like myself! Though a small space, there was enough standing room for customers inside and outside. Service was quick for me, I think, because I ordered in person versus the majority of others who ordered on the two kiosks, possibly not realizing ordering at the front was okay. My friends who ordered at the kiosk did not wait too much longer than I did however. The person helping me at the counter was very friendly and sweet. The mochi donut was super fresh and so chewy. The matcha icing was flavorful and perfectly sweet. I have tried quite a few mochi donuts and I think this might have been my favorite in San Diego. The signature milk tea with boba was really tasty. I couldn't tell if the boba was just in a yummy syrup or if that flavor was unique to my drink but I thoroughly enjoyed my drink. I was a little sad my plushie ended up being a Hello Kitty mermaid but I am looking forward to coming back regardless.

Yelp
This is a really cute tea boba tea spot with a lot of options. They're famous for their hidden plushie at the bottom of the cup! It's a $4.50 add on. Get it while you can bc they'll probably run into licensing issues soon. You must order from a self-service kiosk so you can't really ask for recommendations. You have to figure it out yourself. I wish they had both options. That being said, it was easy to customize my iced matcha for sweetness & ice, but you couldn't customize anything for the plushie cup option. They are cashless only fyi. I saw lots of kids in here just for the plushie cup. Noticed some ppl had My Melody, Cinnamoroll & Hello Kitty. They don't have the plushies on display so idk what the options are.

Yelp
This boba spot is pretty cute. I like the decor. The restroom is pretty clean. The boba is good however they are always running out on the surprise cups or the bear bottles. I haven't tried their mochi donuts but I will be back to try again. The service is quick. When u walk in, u order from the screen. Idk about other people but I get confused about ordering from the screen. The menu that u see when you walk in looks different from the screen you are ordering from. The good side is they have pictures lol

Yelp
Very cute boba and mochinut shop in Mission Gorge. We came to check out the surprise cup. My daughter is a hello kitty fan, so she was so excited with the blind surprise cup. We ordered the wintermelon milk tea and the chizu matcha. When you enter you can order directly from the kiosk. The workers were very friendly and helpful. Our drinks were made quickly and weren't too sweet, which we appreciated. The shop is also decorated with cute photo spots.

Yelp
I came here during their opening weekend and was quite disappointed in their options. I was planning on ordering a matcha latte, but once I got to the kiosk to order, I found out they don't offer it with non-dairy milks. I then was hoping to get a brown sugar milk tea, but that also was only offered with dairy milk. I'm not sure if this was a limitation due to the larger crowds for their opening weekend, or if this is just their menu. I opted for the supreme strawberry green tea instead which was filled with strawberries. The only thing is it felt like a bit too much because my drink ended up being less liquid and almost all smashed strawberries. The boba consistency was pretty good, though.

Yelp
Came here an hour before closing on a Tuesday so it wasn't too packed. Parking was pretty easy. Mochi donut was $1 with a drink purchase on Tuesdays so it's a great deal! We got the mungbean milk tea in plushie cup, okumidori matcha and 2 mochi donuts since they were $1 each. The mungbean milk tea was just okay. Sugar is fixed on this drink so you can't reduce sweetness. Their stir fried boba was soft so that was fine. It also costs extra to reduce ice so that was kind of lame. The okumidori matcha was a little too powdery. We got it at half sweetness but it didn't taste sweet at all. I wanted to try the taro but they said it was made with taro powder so I didn't bother. I got the plushie cup and the plush was super cute but it feels like the drink was just a regular size because the straw barely went down so you barely get any for the price. We also ordered the pink bear but they gave us red, no big deal. The mochi donuts tasted too much like oil, so it didn't really matter which flavors we got. We got the strawberry matcha and caramel. The mochi donuts did have a nice texture to them, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The inside of the restaurant is really cute and instagrammable. You order through kiosks. Overall it was just okay.

Yelp
I knew this place from their location in Sacramento and I liked their drinks there! Was glad to hear they are opening a location here from a friend and came here to try. I got the Okumidori Matcha Latte with 50% sweet, regular Large cup, and stir fried boba. Some of the boba I ate was a good balance between soft and chewy, however the rest of the boba tasted a little hard in the center even though it was soft outside. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that because it's stir fried boba but it tasted like it was undercooked to me. The drink itself was great, it had a strong matcha flavor which I love and it wasn't too sweet. I did walk past someone saying their drink was too sweet so I assume they got something above a 50%. All orders are done through the self-service kiosks and the wait wasn't bad at all even though the place was pretty full! The place was very instagram aesthetic and cute! Great for pictures and their donuts looked amazing as well. They also have surprise cups which are so cute and I think they're the first boba place to have them in SD. Will come back to try their other drinks and hopefully their boba will be better :)

Had a nice visit here and got to try their drinks and the mochi donuts. The drink I got was good, although it does get a bit pricey when you add in the surprise toy add-on for the cup. Mochi donuts were delicious, and the decor inside (all that pink) is really nice. It is a bit small, so sometimes seating can run out as well as the lines to order at the machines or the cashier can cause a traffic jam. However, had a nice time and worth a visit.

Yelp
Finally a location is opened in SD. Came across this place as I was eating next door. This place is very cute. Love the ambience and the staff were courteous. The drinks were really good. Ordered: * Vietnamese coffee: Very tasty. Bold yet balanced. *Thai Tea Crème Brûlée: Just the right amount sweetness. Add a plushie cup to see what you will get =) And of course, I couldn't resist in getting a fruity pebble mochi donut. Very soft, icing was perfect and not overly sweet. They are cashless and you have to order from the kiosk. One was out of order.

Yelp
When I saw there was a Bober Tea & Coffee opening up in my city I knew I had to go. I've had the Garden Grove location bookmarked for awhile, but have never got the chance to make it up there to try it out. This one is much closer to home. Went here on their 2nd soft opening day. Super cute, but quite small inside. You order on the kiosk and they call your name when your order is ready. Of course I had to get the surprise cups which were an additional $4.50 on top of the cost of your drink. They're paper cups with a perforated bottom that you tear open to pull out your surprise. A sanrio plushie keychain. TOO cute, how could I pass that up!? For drinks, I got the Pink Haze (vietnamese iced coffee w/ hazelnut, pink salted cream, dusted w/ chocolate), Brown Sugar Creme Brulee Milk Tea added boba, and the Nutty O.G. (vietnamese iced coffee, hazelnut, and a splash of half & half). Also grabbed a box of 6 mochi donuts for $15. My favorite mochi flavor was the Dirty Taro and for drinks the Pink Haze, next time I'd ask to lessen the sweetness just a little bit though. The staff were all so informative, patient, and kind. Wishing their business lots of success! I know I'll be back!

Yelp
Cute environment. Definitely IG worthy. I got an oolong milk tea in a surprise cup which came about to $12.28. The surprise cup is literally a cup that your boba cup sits in. You can take out the boba cup and pull the surprise out instead of ripping the bottom. The milk tea wasn't too good. Mostly milk, tea was weak. I didn't get a chance to try the donuts. They looked good!

Yelp
I was craving for tea, so I came here. The cashier was nice and helpful. I ordered the pink pear Jasmine green tea. It tasted a little too sweet for my liking. The flavor reminded me of a fruit roll up. I couldn't taste the jasmine tea. The surprise keychain plushie was pretty cute tho. I don't have to rip the opening to get my plushie out because the cup was already sticking up for me to remove the drink to pull out the plushie.

Yelp
I came here with a group of coworkers on a random weekday. We went in the late afternoon, it filled up pretty quickly around 5pm. I ordered the cookies and cream milk tea and cookies and cream donut. I was expecting the milk tea to be really sweet but it was perfect. Tea was steeped strong and the cookie flavor was very subtle. The mochi donut had a nice delicate chew to it. I liked it so much I took home a box of three assorted flavors. During this particular day you could add a mochi donut with your drink order for only a dollar extra.

Yelp
The strawberry green tea was super refreshing, not too sweet, perfect balance of the fruity and tea flavor. I also love how they decorate the store with pink theme. The staffs were also friendly and welcoming. Everything felt cozy and comfortable for me to have such a hang out chit chat with my friends. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
This boba shop is a nice place you can take a picture. The boba is tasty , I often go to this boba every Friday.

Yelp
I got a hazelnut milk tea with jelly and surprise. I was surprised of the keychain I got because I've seen ppl post small plush keychains and I don't feel like the extra cost of what I paid for was reflected in the prize I got. The drink itself is whatever, the hazelnut flavor wasn't super strong and at 25% sweetness, I still felt it was too sweet and ended up tossing the drink. Service is nothing special but friendly. This place is for sure picture perfect though. It's a far drive for me and not worth it, I wouldn't go out of my way for this.

Yelp
Tried this place after seeing it on IG and I can see why it got hyped. Came and tried the tea with the mystery plushie cup. The tea was delicious but too sweet for me. Let's be real this place is an IG photo op but the teas not bad. I would say worth a visit if you're in the area. Cute place, good ambiance, fast and friendly service.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday around 5-6PM and it wasn't too busy! We ordered at the front and the cashier was really nice and helped me pick what I want! I got the Jasmine Milk Tea with the plushie and it was about 12-13$. I didn't want it to be really sweet so got 50% and it was good for my taste! The tea was good it was milky/creamy which I like. The mochi donuts was also really good, tried the funnel cake, fruit pebbles and matcha. Definitely will be coming back!! The drinks and donuts was good and also want to get more plushies hahah and the decor was so cute and vibes were good!!

Yelp
Came here for the surprise plush and was not disappointed! The whole cafe is super cutely decorated with pink flowers and seating along with the cups as well. It was easy to order through the kiosk and I only waited a few minutes to get my boba. Their classic roasted milk tea was delicious and my friend and I were happy with our surprise plushies. We also tried their mochi donuts which were the best I've tried in the area. The churro one was my favorite.

Yelp
The cafe is decorated so adorable. We both paid extra for the character cups. I got an oolong milk tea with boba half sweet and my friend got a ube milk tea, no sweetness. We shared 3 mochi donuts, funnel Cake, matcha, ube. The place was pretty packed, limited parking, but the service was fast.

Yelp
Let me start off with the positives. Cute decor. Nice vibes. Great interior design. Unfortunately this couldn't save them the most disgusting drink I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. I had the pink pear fruit tea with boba and why did it taste like prune juice?? The server also took forever to get drinks out as they were the only one manning the counter. Honestly I won't come back because of the drinks. The plushies are cute but not worth your time. Just buy one off of temu and call it day.

Yelp
Pretty new spot on Mission Gorge Rd. Interior looks clean and inviting. I decided to try this out for the first time yesterday since i heard the buzz about it. Sadly, this one didn't live up to my expectations or what i would call a great first time experience. I guess, this store is dependent on 2 kiosks and God forbid you have some questions about an item on the menu, or the kiosk was not finalizing your order, the staff was not exactly happy to assist and will instead direct you to use the other kiosk. (What happened to basic human interaction??) They have a check out pad at the counter however the staff's response was "we usually don't use this...' when i told him i was in a rush and don't have time to use the other kiosk when i already spent 5 min just putting in one order. Tried the strawberry mochi and it was just ok. Don't expect the classic flavors with the fruit teas. If you don't feel like being risky or bold, this ain't the spot Unfortunately, not worth a second round for me.

Yelp
We had a chance to visit this dessert place . It's beautiful inside- very instagrammable, if you know what I mean. We ordered Supreme Pineapple Green Tea with a surprise Sanrio plushie keychain. I loved the concept of opening the bottom of the drink to get the plushie. The drink was delicious and refreshing. Will definitely go back and try their other drinks. Service was fast- didn't wait long to get our drinks.

Yelp
Cute place, Instagramable, aesthetic on point. There are 2 kiosks for you to order on but I did an online order. There's only one counter which they were also taking orders and also where orders were ready for pick up. I got the mung bean pandan latte with the surprise cup with the total around $12. The drink was really bland and my surprise cup came with this keychain thing instead of a plushie so double fail experience. I didn't try their mochi donut but heard they have a good deal on Tuesdays for it! Since they are still new, I will write an updated review in the future and hope they improve.

Yelp
what i ordered | taro milk tea taste | solid taro milk tea flavor if you prefer the powder style, which is what i like. the sticky boba was a little too sweet for my liking and overpowered the taro drink. service | server was nice and drinks were made quick. parking | small lot behind the store notes | they also sell mochi donuts

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place and was so excited to see there was one in San Diego. This place is so cute! There is a lot of choices for drinks. There is also mochi donuts. I got the pink pear boba drink. With the surprise cups has hello kitty Sanrio keychains. Obsessed. I want to collect them all. The drinks are good and the best thing is the cute keychains. You order on the kiosk to get your order. Self service.

Yelp
Pretty decor for a boba/mochi donut shop! Great for photo ops. The mochi donuts were good and not too sweet which is what I prefer. The drinks were pretty good but the girl working the front seemed anything but happy to be there. She wasn't rude but just expressionless. Would go back for the mochi doughnuts though. The mystery cups got too much exposure through tiktok so they're sold out.

Yelp
I've been driving by here for months waiting for them to open. Finally!!!! So excited--the owner is super friendly and the store is off the charts adorable. Very kawaii. The drinks are fresh and delicious and the donuts are like mochinut, but taste even better. Huge line, but it is grand opening after all. Note, you need to order on the app or on the tablet in store. We'll be back!

Yelp
Super cute boba and donut shop. I got the Chizu strawberry green tea and it was really good! They use real fruit and it makes a difference. The donuts are also very good. If you want to get a cup with the surprise it's like 12 total for the drink and surprise key chain plushy. A bit far from me but it was a fun/yummy thing to try!
