Bobo's Fine chicken is really FINE! I ordered the 2 piece dark meat meal with mac n cheese and Brunswick Stew for side, the bobo sauce and dill ranch.
Although I'm not a big fan of the sides, their fried chicken is just too good for me to take any star off! The service is also great. I told the cashier it's my first time here so I'm still looking, and he made sure if I have any question I can ask me.
There are so much more space and tables than it seems so don't worry if you have a group of people/family. Although it is a restaurant, it feels like a museum, in a good way.
The chicken. The skin is crispy like chips, and the batter has a very unique taste. I love dark meat because they are jucier, but boi aren't they juicy! After that delicious crispy skin was devoured, I touched the meat and it just came off the bone! The meat is very moist and juicy. I tried to dip it in the dill ranch sauce, and that was probably my favorite ranch I've had. First of all I like sauce that are not sweet but tangy, and this ranch is exactly what it is, tangy and creamy. There's also a hint of lemon so it's very refreshing. However, the Bobo's sauce is somewhat a disappointment. Although the cashier said it's like thousand island, I think it's just a mixed of ketchup and mayo, which was not some special sauce.
I'm not a fan of the sides because the mac n cheese is powder-ish for some reason and it's dry. The Brunswick Stew is not bad but the pork flavor is too strong for me, but I'm sure it's just personal preference. The chicken also comes with a corn "bread" and it's not bad but it's thin like a cardboard. I want them cornbread thicc tho.
Overall, the chicken lived up to its name cuz they're real fine, but the sides are meh. I'd definitely come back for their dark meat, or try the tenders and sandwich. I'd still give the other sides a try, hopefully they can surprise me!
