Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Starts Beef by Renaming New York Strip | Eater Austin

"The Austin outpost of a Dallas-founded steakhouse briefly rebranded its New York strip as the “Texas strip” for a one-time private event, but company representatives pushed back on the idea of a permanent change, noting they don't "disclose details regarding private guest events and bookings." A restaurant representative wrote that they "have no plans to change the name of its New York Strip steak brand-wide on its core menu. Individual franchisees have discretion over certain operational decisions, but there are no immediate plans for a menu change." The representative also said that changing the name is not something owners have evaluated." - Brittany Britto Garley

I recently visited this steakhouse with colleagues, and while it is definitely on the expensive side, every penny felt worth it. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for a treat. The steaks were cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful, and tender, with each bite better than the last. I went for the ribeye, while my colleagues enjoyed New York strip steak and salmon. Yes, someone actually ordered seafood at a steakhouse — to each their own — but I have to admit, it looked fantastic and they said it was delicious. The sides were equally impressive, from buttery baked potatoes to perfectly seasoned mushrooms and tender carrots. The quality here is unmatched, and it’s the kind of place you go when you want to treat yourself and truly savor the meal. If you’re looking for top-notch steak and an experience that leaves you satisfied long after the last bite, this is the spot.

Google
Honestly better than almost every other steak house in Dallas. This place was incredible. One of the best meals I've ever had in my life. The crust on the steak was the most insanely flavorful first bite I think I've ever had. The rest of the steak was equally incredible. I always laughed at pictures of this place for having that giant log of a carrot on their plates but it was honestly one of the best carrots I've ever had, it's got a glaze on it that's a flavor bomb and the carrot is tender and flavorful without being mushy. All of the sides we got were also delicious, they give you a whole loaf of bread before your meal begins and every table has a giant jar of pickled peppers and pickles just waiting for you to enjoy. I can say with confidence this will be the first of many meals I eat at Bob's steak and Chop.

We had such a great experience at Bob’s Steak & Chop House! The food was delicious, from the perfectly cooked steak to the sides and dessert. Everything came out just right. Our waiter, Delton, was amazing, so attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed. He really made the whole evening even better. Definitely a 5-star experience, and I’d happily come back again!

Google
Have been twice and both times have been an incredible experience. Service is very attentive and professional but still warm. The steak was cooked perfectly had wasn't just tender but also flavorful. While you're probably not trying to pinch pennies if you're eating here it's still appreciated that you get the carrot and potato included with your steak! Love that. Lobster bisque was also top notch. Would definitely return again and again

Google
The atmosphere was awesome!! Service was superb!! Wine choice is like no other. The filet mignon was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. The carrot was different but still good. The skillet potatoes with gravy(scalloped potatoes) were not good at all. The potatoes were like a fried potato but very old, hard, and stale. I tried a few of them with the gravy and couldn’t get past the old flavor so I didn’t finish them. Overall, not a bad place but expect to spend a pretty penny.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Bob’s Steakhouse. The restaurant is beautiful and staff were phenomenal. We had Nick for our server and he took very great care of us. Food was outstanding. We will definitely be back! Cheers!

Google
Original post: A nice restaurant, quiet and pleasant atmosphere! The Appetizer -Shrimp Cocktail is always my favorite in the dining. The drink here also not bad. The dessert - Key lime pie is super sweet no any sour at all 😂 Scallop and sea bass here are just so- so …

Came here for the first time to celebrate my 30th birthday and JuanCarlos was our server! He was so great! I shared my brownie recipe with him and he described the food on the menu with such artistry. He has a passion for food and for his job! I’m not a regular steak eater, but I ordered the 9oz filet and enjoyed it very much! The brownie sundae desert was a 10/10.

Yelp
Back at Bob's, busier than I have ever seen it. We were seated in the large table room, we had 7 people, and it was deafeningly loud. We were yelling to be heard. Conversations with people across the table were almost impossible. The food was as tasty as always, steaks are premium cuts. Unfortunately this time we had 4 incorrect temperatures out of 7. One steak was so blue it may as well been tartar. I ordered mine medium, it came rare, not medium rare but rare. Our waiter was good but he was struggling to keep up. Not enough support and I am sure he was having trouble hearing everyone. Food runners didn't know where the food went. Deserts are luscious and huge. We did enjoy ourselves but things could have been a lot smoother. Its my third time at Bob's since 97' and I'm just going to write this one off to a very busy night, and short staffed. Bob's on Lemon is an excellent steakhouse I still highly recommend.

Yelp
The OG steakhouse of Dallas. Consistency is KEY! Bob's Chop House on Lemmon Avenue remains a true Dallas institution--one that delivers unwavering excellence in an era where many fine dining establishments are trading consistency for trends and jacking up prices without delivering on quality. From the moment you walk in, the white tablecloth ambiance sets the tone. There's a sense of timeless class in the air--refined but never pretentious. The service is top-notch, with seasoned staff who know the menu and treat regulars and first-timers with the same warmth and professionalism. The meat? Always on point. Perfectly aged, expertly cooked, and rich with flavor--Bob's delivers cuts that rival any steakhouse in the city. The signature carrot and house-made onion rings are staples for a reason, and they never disappoint. The bar scene is a hidden gem, with generous pours, great conversation, and some of the friendliest bartenders in town. It's the kind of place where your drink is right and your name is remembered. In a world of rising prices and sliding standards, Bob's stays grounded. Ownership has remained committed to quality without cutting corners, and that loyalty to their craft and customers shows in every plate and every visit. If you want a true Dallas steakhouse experience--one that respects its roots and consistently delivers--Bob's on Lemmon is still the benchmark.

Yelp
Walked in and was able to get sat around 6pm on a week night! Great little ambiance with sports on the bar TVs. White tablecloth dining so not too casual but not too dressy. Pretty amazing steak for a pretty little penny. The steak special shared by 2 or 3 is the way to go. We got the Tomahawk Wagyu 40oz for 2, medium rare. It was delicious with Mac and Cheese for a side. The potato side included is where we messed up- Didn't love the skillet potatoes with gravy. I'd try the mashed or loaded baked potato next time. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Bobs was AMAZING! Service was exceptional! I loved the ambiance and the food was the best I've ever had.

Yelp
A very very belated birthday dinner here at Bob's this weekend was just as great as our previous experiences! This was my third time visiting and I feel like a Bob's pro now. My learnings: 1. Don't eat too much of the bread app offered in the beginning, it'll make you too full. 2. Always get the bacon wrapped shrimp. 3. Skip a salad if you want to enjoy your steak without getting stuffed. Everything else is fair game. The old fashioned is strooooong and made well. I tried the cosmo and enjoyed it as well. That ribeye though. Man it's the best in Dallas in my opinion. Absolutely incredible. Always love it here at Bob's!

Yelp
Bob's Steak & Chip House (original location) is a wonderful venue for birthdays, anniversaries and milestone moments. It is the epitome of fine dining. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, and the service is "Class A". I ordered the wedge salad which was excellent. I also ordered the 14oz. ribeye steak, cooked "medium plus" which is between medium and medium well. My sides were the tasty carrot, smashed potatoes and spinach. I was disappointed that my steak was prepared medium rare. Another guest had their steak undercooked as well. There should have been more attention to the steak cook time. It is a pricy place to dine, and you expect everything to be prepared right. Overall it was a wonderful evening, and would go back again.

Yelp
It had been a few years since we went to Bob's Chop House, but we had good memories. So we decided to return. We were not disappointed. The service was first rate. We were not rushed. Our waiter was present but did not hover at the table. The food was excellent. The cocktails were perfect - just perfect. Our waiter was John Carlos - "JC". He was great. He knew the menu, and had good suggestions. The only caveat is that we were there on a Thursday night - not Friday or Saturday. The noise level coming from the bar area was eye-popping. I was so glad we were seated in another area of the restaurant away from the bar area. Even then, it was noisy. So, if a person in your party has hearing issues in loud venues - ask you waiter to be seater in the most quiet area of the restaurant.

Yelp
I had a really excellent time here. I attended a business dinner. The lamb o'dourves were great. The wine selection was excellent. The ribeye was perfectly cooked. And I really appreciated the glazed carrot. Having a constant like that adds character to the restaurant. I also loved the way the service was attentive without being distracting. We were able to get everything we needed while focusing on the presentation. I would definitely recommend Bob's for future events.

Yelp
The exterior of this restaurant hides the gem inside. You can only valet park here, but it's only $5 plus tip. The inside is well appointed and the staff was welcoming and gracious from the beginning. We had a large work party of 20 people and were seated in a back dining room. They had a great variety of wines and spirits that got things started well. The appetizers could have been the main course there was so much to choose from. We had me of each. The fried lobster was amazing! Steak was perfectly cooked and served sizzling. Definitely a return with the family.

Yelp
I personally don't get the hype. The crab cake was not good. The filet wasn't the best. Not because I asked for medium and they gave me medium rare but because the quality of the meat is lacking. Smashed potatoes, I could easily eat at home. The steak so charred it lent a burnt flavor to my dish. My server was nice and service was good but I won't come back here to eat. It also behoove them to have a lil diversity among their staff. 1 star for service and 1 for the good calamari Oh and my condolences to the family 4 Bobs passing, I'm sure he was a wonderful person.

Yelp
Went to Bob's last night and was very underwhelmed. you know for a place thats supposed to have the best steaks in Dallas. They were incredibly average. The worst part about it is it's $70 for a 9 ounce fillet! just a poorly prepared low quality meat of mostly gristle! We started with a Caesar salad and it was about as average as they come as well. The side dishes like cream of corn were good but nothing special. I'm guessing Bob's has been around so long that they're just going through the motions at this point, and they need to seriously step up their game. When you go to a place like this and you spend $70 on a steak. It better be damn good and it wasn't even close.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary/ celebrated our pregnancy at Bob's. We were thrilled to have chosen this steak and chop house as a very special place to celebrate. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and my husband had the ribeye with skillet potatoes. We also started our meal with the meatball appetizer. Every detail down to the service was perfection. We are so happy we decided to choose Bob's and now it's my husbands favorite restaurant in all of Dallas! We cannot wait to have another excuse to celebrate and return for the food and ambiance. thank you all for making this such a special evening!

Yelp
I used to love Bob's but it is just not the same any longer. The cocktails, bread, and server were great but the food was just ok. Especially for the price. Everything was very salty. The Caesar salad, the lobster bisque, and the steaks. I am not sure why it changed but it is not the same.

Yelp
Our server was great! The food was excellent. It was my boyfriend's birthday and they were kind enough to comp us a dessert to go, which was huge. This was my first time there, but I will definitely be back.

Yelp
It's weird to go to a steakhouse and not have amazing steaks. That's been my experience most of the time. Bob's off of Lemmon makes top 3 best steakhouse experience I've had in my life so far. The staff perfects this experience. Our server was patient and very knowledgeable. Attentive without suffocating. The wine selections exceeded our expectations. John, Bob's sommelier, took our wine criteria and delivered one of the best bottles of wine we've ever had. Inexpensive too. We shared a dry aged steak that I still think about and finished with a praline ice cream cake words can't describe. Large indoor space. Looking forward to sitting at the bar and trying their hot dog and a good beer next time

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with good service. The server was super friendly and introduced the history of restaurant after greeting us. To our surprise, the pickle in the table was not decoration but edible. And it tasted pretty good. We tried Wayu tomahawk steak, mixed green salad, sautéed spinach and mushroom. All tasted fantastic. The steak was tender, perfect seasoning, perfect amount of fat. The mixed green salad was fresh and tasty. The dessert was fantastic too. This place was always busy. Reservation was strongly recommended.

Yelp
What is wrong with this place?!? Nothing. Everything is perfect, Karen is heaven sent, glittering gold. I'll tell you what, the bread gets you so blown up you've gotta take your carrot home in the prison pocket. We went for our anniversary and were so stuffed by the end of the meal nothing more could be shoved in the gullet. They (Karen, God bless her) offered us a free dessert! Well, we picked the carrot cake and I'll be tickled, they filled up a to-go container to where there was no room for air. It was extraordinary. I feel there's no need to mention ambiance, they could've had the lighting of a 1950's psychiatric hospital and it wouldn't have changed a thing. I would take a bullet for Bob and his steakhouse, in the shoulder of course. So delicious.

Yelp
My wife and I made our annual visit to Dallas and as always, had dinner at Bob's Steak and Chop House on our last night. And again, the food, wine, and service were impeccable. For the second year in a row, we were lucky to have John Carlos as our server. He is exceptional at reviewing the specials, taking drink orders/asking the sommelier for his suggestion of a wine that evening and handling the food service throughout. The sommelier suggested a wonderfully full-bodied Argentine red. For an appetizer, we had the shrimp cocktail and had the remoulade sauce on the side. The shrimp were large and delicious. For dinner, we split a 28 oz steak from a local ranch with marbled meat that was tender and delicious. The steak was carved into medallions making it easy to select pieces as we finished a slice or two. The meal came with a delicious, carmelized carrot and we chose garlic mashed potatoes for our second side. Nothing was left on either of our plates. That good. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse, made in house. It was light and had a delicious chocolate flavor with a chocolate graham cracker crust. A very good interpretation of this dessert! We sat there a few more minutes over coffee and enjoying the ambiance of the dining room. It was fun to see people coming in, some with children (well-behaved, I should add!) and everyone was smiling/enjoying their time at Bob's Steak and Chop House. We'll be back again next year. Thanks Bob!

Yelp
The food was delicious, top quality, unpretentious. Really friendly and attentive waiters. Cozy and posh but traditional and comfortable.

Yelp
Steak was delicious, juicy, and tender. Their cocktails are strong and their potatoes are great. I understand their signature dish is that big carrot but it's so pointless to me. I'm not a rabbit I don't need a carrot that big, but I guess that's the point of bob's. Overall great restaurant, fast service, and the ambiance is great for date night.

Alex R.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing meal. Rib eye was awesome and the bacon wrapped shrimp were great. The drink menu was expansive and everyone in our party found a great drink. The place has an old school steak house vibe which reminds of the steakhouses I went to as a kid. Karen and the staff provided the best service. The restaurant was packed and we were still well taken care of. The worst part is I live 2000 miles away and can't easily come back!

Julie B.

Yelp
Finally! The search is over... best steakhouse in Dallas! From the time we opened the door, we knew this was going to be an excellent experience. Comfortable atmosphere. Fantastic service. The best steak experience of our lives. No detail was forgotten. The entire experience was off the charts, topped off by an actual conversation with Bob, who truly cares. Thank you Bob-consider us regulars.

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite steakhouses in Dallas, particularly this location. Excellent ambience, fantastic service... Always order the fillet, sides are delicious. You cannot go wrong at Bob's!

Yelp
Got to meet Bob! Original location! This is my favorite place to eat in the world!! Thank you Bob for taking time to visit with us! Also Roxy was beyond excellent!

Yelp
Not bad but pricy. Great job by the sommelier and our server Frank. A few things were out of their control. Entree course took way too long. Big lull after the appetizers were done. A few demerits for the following: ~black knot in the baked potato. ~surcharge for béarnaise AND peppercorn sauce. I wouldn't mind but neither one was good. Béarnaise was too thin and peppercorn sauce seemed like some sort of jarred teriyaki sauce. ~despite my mention to the staff that it was a wedding dinner, nothing was brought in acknowledgement. ~sea scallops had a very strong smell. I'm a little surprised the expediting chef didn't notice.

Kristine M.

Yelp
Such an unfortunate experience at our long time favorite, Bob's. Unfortunately over our last few visits the service has gone down hill significantly. Last night our waiter seemed new, disappeared for long periods of time, and never once apologized for delays. Our initial drink order took 10 minutes to receive. There was a 30 minute delay between receipt of the salads and entree. The steak quality was not what it has been, and when a steak was not cooked the right temperature after all of the above, there was no manager to stop by the table and check in and apologize. The absence of the manager was really the telling point as recognizing the delays and apologizing could have show that Bobs cared. So unfortunate as this has not been the first time In the past year that service levels were not quite what they used to be. We will be looking for a new home for our steak dinners, so sad.

Yelp
Love this place! Super consistent, friendly staff, good pours, good crowd. Not a fancy interior, but I like it that way. Very unassuming building. Steaks are excellent. It's nice the meat comes with potatoes and a carrot. Martini is so on. it's so big it's like a fishbowl.

Mary S.

Yelp
This place is exceptional, the food, atmosphere and service was top notch. Best steak ever! Our waiter was excellent.

Yelp
Let's be honest, I am not the one who likes to bring people down. But sometimes the truth has to come out. I was disappointed to be let down by a steakhouse that was hyped up by many people. Personally, I felt like there were better overall steakhouses than Bob's. I think another letdown is to see the owner (who I assumed is the owner, based on his name, Bob) personally speaking/greeting tables who seemed more "high class" instead of all customers. And then, seeing those exact customers be rude to the wait staff and valet staff. Food: Everything came with a loaf of bread and butter, along with a container of pickles and bell pepper. - Prime Ribeye (8/10): The steak was good, not great. I got my normal medium rare. You can see a nice char and crust on the steak, which is always great. But my first bite, something did not taste "amazing" to me. It seemed as if it lacked flavor and seasoning. After a few bites, it started tasting better. I realized they possibly forgot to season the steak fully. Normally this should not be an issue, but for a Steakhouse known to be one of the best in DFW, I'm imaging every bite to be delicious. However, my steak came with a piece of carrot and skillet fried potatoes tossed in gravy and sautéed onions, which they are apparently known for. The potatoes were a hugeee let down. - Jumbo Scallops Tuscan Pasta (6/10): My wife ordered this, and she was not impressed, especially for the price of $60+ for a pasta dish with 4 scallops that had no flavor. There's not much to say for this entree besides the fact it was not good. - Lamp Chops (9/10): We got this for the appetizers and was by far one of our favorite things. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would say the only thing wrong was that it was a bit too salty. Mushrooms & Spinach (4/10): Not sure what they were trying to do here with this. But was not a fan of this... just was spinach with mushrooms. Lacked seasoning and flavor. Overall, besides the fact that I wasn't too impressed with the steakhouse. I would say the steak was up there in one of the better steaks I've eaten. But I will not say that this is the best steak or best steakhouse ever or in DFW.

Yelp
4/5 Prime "Côte De Boeuf" Bone-In Ribeye 4/5 Old Fashion Went to Bobs for my friends 30th. A mutual friend said that their bone in ribeye opinion changing (she doesn't like steak). So I ordered it medium. It was phenomenal, I like my steak juicy and flavorful and this was exactly that. I didn't like the carrot, but the mashed potatoes made up for it. I highly recommend the steak! It is a lot of meat for sure, so come hungry. The old fashion felt like a double shot of whiskey to which I had no complaints. The staff was very knowledgeable on the menu and really friendly. It is a more chic restaurant atmosphere, so business casual is the attire. They have valet as well.

Yelp
My wife and I have been coming here for years. We did try every other steak house in between Dallas and Frisco and could never find a better experience than Bob's! We love our favorite waitress Ashley and booth #6 seems to be the best seat in the house!
google avatar

Melody T.

Yelp
Ok. So really my reason for 3 stars is that although the food was good and the service was friendly, it just wasn't the best steakhouse experience I've had for the money. I expected a more elevated experience from the service to the food. It's expensive so this expectation is normal in my opinion and it just didn't meet it. There are better choices in Dallas.
google avatar

Yara F.

Yelp
Came here for a work dinner with a colleague and can't say enough great things. It has a very classic steakhouse vibe, honestly felt like I was at one of my favorite nyc stale houses when I walked in. I feel awful that I can't remember the name of our wonderful server, but he made our experience at bobs that much better. Filet was cooked perfectly, honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had at restaurant! We got the smashed potatoes which were yummy, and also the delicious creamed corn and Brussel sprouts. Prices were totally reasonably for the quality of food and service, but I was happy to expense this to my work account because the caliber of everything is so high. Highly recommend for any occasion and hope to be back soon!

Franki H.

Yelp
I was a little disappointed with my bone in rib-eye. It was unfortunately fatty and tough to eat. For the price, I was hoping for a lot more. The potato and carrot were the star of the show for me. The desserts were exceptional, very very large slices of cake. Service was good; we were checked on by the manager a few times as well. We sat in the back room; it was quite loud but there were some larger parties in the room.

Eric N.

Yelp
We had a group of people trying to enjoy a meal and pulled 2 extra chairs to our table from a table next to us that had 2 empty chairs so 2 of our kids could have dinner with us. The manager came over and told us we could not have the extra people at our table and made the kids leave. One of the moms had to leave with the kids. Then they took the extra chair and added it to another table that had an extra guest.

Chandler M.

Yelp
The service was about what you would expect on a Friday night... nothing exceptional but nothing terrible. The food however has taken a drastic drop in quality. No one at the table could or wanted to finish their meal. The steak was at best ok... the shrimp was tough and without flavor. The price was ridiculous. It was outrageous for the food quality... very disappointing.

Yelp
Service was great, our server was very helpful and friendly. We never found ourselves looking for him to get service. The restaurant itself is pretty nice. Some of the guests seated near us (about 10 very loud and obnoxious frat bros) were very loud and annoying but that's not the restaurants fault. The steak is probably the best steak I've had in any restaurant. I'm pretty picky about my steaks but the ribeye I got was great. The potatoes and carrot on the side were an afterthought but they were also good. I'd certainly come here again.

Yelp
For 31 years Bob's has been the Best Steak in Dallas. The Bartenders and Servers all do it right and they make everyone feel like a regular.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday with a couple friends at Bobs on Saturday night. When you walk in it's like you've stepped into another world. All of the deep wood decor, low lighting and the roar of laughter and clinking silverware set the mood. I would suggest making a reservation because every single table was full when we arrived so it doesn't seem like a walk-in place. We were seated right away and the menu is a traditional steakhouse. Traditional dishes done very well. I started with the Bob Old Fashioned and it was good! And it actually got better as the ice melted:). We also ordered a large calamari for the table- the batter was nice and crunchy and had a light seasoning that complemented the marinara sauce. For my entree I enjoyed the 14oz Ribeye with a backed potato. It was cooked to perfection and the little bit of fat just melted in my mouth. It was heaven! I loved all of the celebrations and when the water came over to sing happy birthday the entire section of patrons also turned around and joined in to make it extra special. That made my night, along with sharing a giant carrot cake with my friends Thank you Bobs for exceptional service and a delicious meal.

Yelp
Bob's is a Dallas landmark that I've been going to for over 20 years. Not much has changed and that's a great thing. The meats are amazing and all the sides are very good. It's very traditional and intimate with great service.

Yelp
We were in town for market from Chicago and made a 7:30 reservation on open table which was already later than I normally eat but what the heck let's eat at an authentic Texas steakhouse!! Now we assumed they would be busy which is why we made a reservation and came 10 minutes early. When we got there we were corralled into a bar area for over and hour that was packed walk to wall with people who didn't have reservations trying to get a table and watched five tables seated before us who came in after us. I really didn't care how the food was after waiting this long when we had a reservation or how good Kayla our server was. We were pissed off and now eating at 9:00 pm. We should have walked out to be honest. The food was ok. I expected more from a Texas steakhouse. The two girls seating people were nice but the metrics need to be changed in their reservation system if they are making people wait an hour past their reservation time. When we come back for summer market we will try a different place. We weren't impressed.

Yelp
So its official, I am declaring this the best steakhouse in the country. We made our second visit from Waco tonight and once again it didn't disappoint. The calimari was once again piping hot, lightly breaded and perfectly tender. My filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare, just the right amount of char, perfectly seasoned, tender and obviously a prime cut of meat. The same could be said of my wife's ribeye. My sons crab cake entree was divine and major props for the entrees including a not too sweet carrot and your choice of starch. The fully loaded table side baked potatoes could easily have been worth another $15 on its own. My Martinis were ice cold and my wife's Buffalo trace was double sized poured. The coup de gras was getting back to our hotel room and seeing the gigantic heavenly chocolate cake slice that my boys split and still was way more than I could ever comprehend finishing. The second time was as good if not better than the first visit and for that I am declaring this the number on steakhouse in the country. My apologies to Barry's Prime in Vegas, Joe's Prime Steak and Stone Crabs in Miami, Charlie Palmers in NY, and Pappas in Houston that I would rank as runners up to this perfect purveyor of prime meat and all that goes with it.

Yelp
Service was very slow. Waiter was quite rude. Somehow my car was blocked by valet and I was told to come back "in a few hours" to retrieve.

Yelp
I absolutely hate having to write this review of a place I love to eat. This was my first time at this location and some things went well and other thing just wrong. I will get straight to the point. We ordered no appetizers just salads. I asked for a beefsteak tomato with blue cheese dressing and crumbles. This, I would say was good, but that tomato was in the border of being overripe. Still, good and dressing tasted fresh and made in house. I also had the lobster bisque which is decadent! A must have. We ordered from the specials menu and got the 32 oz Waygu Bone-in Ribeye. I cannot say enoug good things about this steak. It was delicious, perfectly cooked to the temp we asked and all that was left were two slices and the bone. More on that in a moment. To accompany our steak we ordered the 14 oz lobster tail broiled. This was the first thing I had thus far that was simply not up to standard. This thing was overcooked and tasted like rubber. Absolutely awful. This was a business dinner and not the time to make a big deal of it but after a bite or two each we left the rest. Another issue was that if I would have wanted to complain, our server would go on sabbaticals now and then. I had to flag him down from across the room to get my drink refilled twice. Another young man came in fast and poured tea in my glass. I don't fault him because an empty glass of Coke looks like and empty tea glass. I caught him the second time and stopped him. He is fast to say the least. Something I cannot say about our server. On the server, this young man had a habit of putting his hand on my wife shoulder. This go to the point that if he had done it once more I would have had words with him and the manager, clients be damned. Totally unacceptable and inappropriate. We ordered the carrot cake for dessert and it is wonderful but be warned, it is the size of half a cake! All four of us ordered coffee when we ordered dessert and for some reason he kept asking our guests regular or decaf in spite of us saying multiple times, all regular. Our cake arrives and I assume the coffee is coming. That is until we are all almost finished with our dessert and again, had to waive him down from across the room. When I asked about the coffee he apologized and said he forgot and then said, "It was two regular and two decaf, right? At this point, after being sparse much of the night he is now hovering and continuously asking us if we want more coffee in spite of us all telling him no. Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye Finally, we asked that he box the remaining steak for our guest and the bone in a separate box. Given his issues, when we were about to leave and I asked him if he had boxed the steak separate from the bone and he confirmed he had put them in our bag but said he would change it we liked. At this point we were leaving. I get home and no steak, just the bone. Now, he had an odd sense of humor and kept joking, repeatedly, if we didn't eat all the steak and lobster it was no problem, he would eat it. Hmmmm...

Yelp
Been here a couple times when in Dallas for biz trips. I've had the filet mignon and bone in ribeye both were really good. Menu has a lot of great dishes. Appetizers were really good as well. Wine selection is large and top shelf. Service is excellent every time they have it together.

Yelp
First experience at Bob's on Lemon Ave., last night 5/2/24.Food was average, large carrot spoiled taste of steak. Obnoxious table of 8 with decibel levels that disallowed any conversation at our table, made the evening anything but relaxing. Overpriced, lacking in exceptional service and ambiance. Should have gone to Ocean Prime.

Yelp
The ultimate expense account meal. The food here is always first-class combined with stellar, energetic service and a great business and date-night vibe. I had the 9oz filet, cooked perfectly along with the lightly sweetened but HUGE carrot. I think Bob knows what a BIG deal I am. ;) Covid downside - no more jelly beans at the hostesses station!

Yelp
The best steakhouse in Dallas. They have the friendliest waitstaff (ask for Glenn) and the most authentic old school steakhouse vibe. Some rooms even feature TV's for the full 'make your man happy' package. The steak is the finest cooked and served with divine a carrot drizzled in brown sugar. Don't skip the baked potato! The waiter will bring a table side boat so you can indulge in all of the fixings. The sides are true family style, with generous portions. And dessert is the best part!! Don't miss your chance to find the best steakhouse in Dallas today. Filet Mignon Garlic Mashed Glazed Carrot The Big Carrot Giant Carrots
